So many of them have criminal records. Found this list of players that have had problems with the law http://www.msg.com/photos/bad-boys-of-football/ Do you guys think it is a pattern or just a coincidence?

I didn't even look at the list, but I can point out a number of contributing circumstances to their legal problems.
And it's not just football players-look at a lot of basketball players, too.
1-They have so many people covering for them-from their teachers, coaches, parents, fans and their whole home towns-from the time they're in middle school-that they feel that they can do NO WRONG-or if they do, they'll just get a slap on the wrist. Friends to do their homework and take their tests...etc.
2-They get a few bucks in their pockets and they don't know what to do with it. Sex. drugs, booze, gambling, women, violence, "towns with nothing to do between games or at night"-as stated by a number of ex-Buffalo Bills who were more than willing to take Buffalo's money, but refused to contribute time and energy to the community, the list goes on and on.
3-I hate to stereotype here, but a lot of these guys were once young black intercity youth, growing up in high-crime areas with very little money. Suddenly they have money, and, to quote Judge Hoe Brown and Judge Greg Mathis, they're "ghetto-fabulous". They need to have the biggest house, the most expensive cars, the baddest dogs, and enough gold and diamonds to refill all the mines in the Southwest and Africa.
They don't have any idea how to handle their new-found fame and all that goes with it.
They want to be tough and cool-the hell with being a role model for the young kids in the towns they once called home.
I don't think it's any coincidence. It's an issue as old as having somebody else sit for they exams and having colleges give their chosen heroes a free car and a "get out of jail free" card.
And isn't that what professional sports are all about????
Now look at hockey!!! A random DUI...a car wreck...
No steroid accusations, no gun-toting hoods/body guards, no hit-and-run accidents, no dog-fighting...
YEAH-MIKEY-I'm talking to YOU!!! Like how you went out and paid cash for a NEW BEEMER the day before they hauled you dog-killing ass to jail...so you have an IMPRESSIVE RIDE. You make me wanna puke...
What is the REAL difference here??
I hate to say this but over 90% of the players are WHITE...and for the most part, the whites don't play those games.

We had a guy on our HS football teen in Yonkers that took part in an ugly racialist attack when he was in JHS. How he go out of doing any time even a juvenile facility is beyond me.
Maybe he turned state's witness, may his folks had $$$$$
He was with a gang that beat up a Palestinian refugee from Jordan (it was 1969).
The gang was after Puerto Ricans, but dark was dark to them and they "couldn't tell the difference."

"to quote Judge Hoe Brown and Judge Greg Mathis"

I just realized I made a most reprehensible typo...
I have the utmost respect for judge JOE Brown...my profuse apologies!!!
Gots to stop posting in the middle of the night or when I'm thoroughly pi$$ed off by the subject matter...
Ooops...its 4:08 am...MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
