CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – A former nursing supervisor fired from successive jobs for alleged sexual harassment is on trial for the Valentine's Day rampage in upstate New York that left four people dead.
Jury selection began in Canandaigua (kan-an-DAY'-gwuh) in the trial of 35-year-old Frank Garcia. He is charged with the slayings of 38-year-old Kimberly Glatz and her 45-year-old husband, Christopher, at their home southeast of Rochester. Garcia will be tried in a separate trial for the fatal attack on a nurse outside a Brockport hospital and a motorist who came to her aid.
Prosecutors say Garcia was seeking vengeance against those who got him dismissed from a Rochester nursing home and the Brockport hospital. Garcia has denied the charges. His lawyer says there is insufficient evidence.
