Bills Training Camp - Bills WR Terrell Owens took a stance firmly behind former NFL QB Michael Vick, when asked about Vick's status after practice Sunday.

Owens says the NFL has been unfair to Vick, and he should not be suspended, after finishing his prison term for his involvement in a dogfighting ring.

"I think it's unfair to Michael Vick," Owens told reporters after the Sunday morning workout at Bills camp. "I think he's done the time for what he's done. I don't think it's really fair for him to be suspended four more games. That's almost like kicking a dead horse in the ground."

Owens is looking for the players union to come to Vick's defense, in the wake of reports that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is considering a 2-6 game suspension before Vick can return to the league.

"I think the players union needs to step in because the guy's already sufferred so much. To add a four-game suspension on a two-year prison sentence, that's ridiculous."

Owens believes Vick should be given a chance to sign with another NFL team. And he said he would not mind having Vick as a teammate sometime in the future.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens is weighing in on the future of Former NFL star Michael Vick.

Last week, Vick met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. The former Falcons quarterback could reportedly face an additional four-game suspension.

He has already missed two full seasons while serving a jail sentence for his role in a dog fighting ring.

TO thinks Vick has already paid for his crime.

"I think the way the commissioner has handled it, I think it's unfair to Michael Vick. I think he's done the time for what he's done. I don't think it's really fair for him to be suspended four more games. That's almost like kicking a dead horse in the ground. I think a lot of guys around the league need to speak up. I think the players union needs to step in because the guy's already suffered so much," said Owens.

Owens says he believes Vick, who was released from prison last week, deserves a second chance, and would welcome him as a teammate.
