PLANT CITY - An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing two-month-old baby.
Plant City police say Sandra Cruz-Francisco's mother reported her daughter had been kidnapped from the Plant City Health Department office in the 200 block of N. Michigan Avenue just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Sandra is 22 inches tall, weighs 10 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing pink pants, a pink shirt and pink socks.
Detectives say the person who kidnapped Sandra is described as a Hispanic and/or possibly white female, approximately 30-years-old, approximately 5-foot-10 with a thin build. She has blue eyes, shoulder length black hair, and was last seen wearing blue denim jeans, black long sleeve shirt and white tennis shoes.
Police believe the suspect's first name is Janet. She was last seen leaving with the baby in a blue Chrysler smaller four-door vehicle, and detectives said she's possibly headed to Miami.
"There was a conversation between the mother and Janet, and somehow the child was exchanged," Captain Darrell Wilson said.
Captain Wilson said it's unclear if the two are related.
If you have any information about say Sandra Cruz-Francisco's, call the Plant City Police Department at (813) 757-9200 or 911

Baby found after Amber Alert
PLANT CITY - A missing Plant City baby was found in neighboring Manatee County this afternoon, less than a day after an Amber Alert had been issued for the child.
Rosa Sirilo Francisco reported her 2-month-old daughter Sandra had been kidnapped from the Plant City Health Department office just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.
A woman put the baby in her car and said she was going to Miami, Francisco said. That prompted officials to issue an Amber Alert.
It was around 2 p.m. when investigators got a 911 call directing them to 60th Avenue W and 34th Street in Bradenton. There, a woman handed the baby over to deputies and turned herself in.
An hour later, police announced that Sandra had been found alive and well.
"We're very relieved because so many times when an Amber Alert is issued, it does not end well. But the baby in this case is doing well and it's a great ending," offered Manatee County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dave Bristow.
Late this afternoon, detectives were still talking to Amaila Tabata Periera -- the woman named earlier as a 'person of interest' in the case. They want to know if she is the woman who abducted the baby, and why.
State records shed some light on Periera's background. She is an ex-con who has served 33 months in prison. She was previously arrested in Hillsborough County and charged with arson, forgery, burglary, and filing a false report for an incident that happened in Temple Terrace.
Periera has told investigators that she is the wife of a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball player.
