Jason Lancaster, 36, an English teacher at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee has been indicted by a Rutherford County grand jury on three counts of solicitation of a minor to commit aggravated statutory rape (http://www.teachercrimes.com/?p=1821), three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and four counts of solicitation of a minor to commit statutory rape by an authority figure.
Reportedly Sheriff’s Detective Mickey McCullough received complaints of inappropriate behavior directed at students on the part of Lancaster in October and began an investigation at that time.
Ultimately McCullough took the results of his investigation to the grand jurors who returned the indictments.
Reportedly Lancaster, who has been with the school system for 15 years, was suspended without pay by the school system in October when the allegations surfaced.
Reportedly Lancaster turned himself in to authorities on Thursday and bail was set in the amount of $40,000.
