WHOW! he lives within a mile of the home and he is wearing a GPS ankle bracelet and they were talking about his zone, yeah, far does that zone extend?

This was explained in the press conference that the sheriff did. The guy lives over a mile away and his zone is very close to home. Plus they have GPS tracking on him so they know the minute he is out of his zone and exactly where he is.

Now Ronnie is denying that he and the cuz here got into it over a gun, maybe one reason he is denying this, is he is a felon, and felons can not possess weapons especially handguns.

This is true in Florida as well and that is likely why he is not admitting, at least publicly to a fight or disagreement of any kind.

Actually with my youngest daughter, you couldn't know for sure that she would be wearing in the morning what you put her to bed in the night before. But then she also had her own room and was fully capable of dressing herself at 5.

And the cinder block still bothers me. No one is going to visit somebody, figure out where the back door is, scope out the back yard to see the blocks unless they were up to no good. If you go back on the thread and look there is an actual floorplan of the trailer somewhere on this thread. The child was in the master bedroom with Misti and her little brother and they couldn't have been more than 12 feet from that door at any time. The floorplan would help because it gives you a visual on the trailer. You can see the wheelchair ramp and the backyard from the parking space in front of the trailer.

Didn't I post his record here? Oh well, he did have a drug charge years ago (2001 maybe?), so he surely would have completed his terms of probation by now. And IIRC it was a misdemeanor, so he wouldn't be precluded from owning a firearm, unless specifically ordered by the judge. I really think that since he's a heavy equipment operator, he may be subject to random drug testing to fulfill OSHA requirements, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know much about the car, but the car was talked about before Joe was mentioned publicly anyway. It sounded like to me that they had already processed the car for evidence the first time I heard about it and that was three or four days ago.

My personal opinion is that the LE involved are playing things really close to their vest because they don't want things said to the media that could in any way mess up the case or their chances of getting Haleigh back.

Thanks NA! So was he actually convicted of a felony charge? And how is a man who works 40-60 hours per week at $10/hr considered indigent?? If so, it's no wonder that he scaled down his threats to the perp and said that he didn't want revenge. Haleigh's family life unstable from start
Father's girlfriend provides more details about Haleigh’s disappearance

SATSUMA — Misty Croslin said the accusation that she left Haleigh Cummings the night the 5-year-old disappeared is untrue.


Croslin, the 17-year-old girlfriend of Haleigh’s father, said she doesn’t know where the rumor started.


“I was there the whole night,” she told the Times-Union in an interview Wednesday where she shared several details about Haleigh’s disappearance.


It was the third time Croslin has been publicly questioned in the nine days since she called 911 on Feb. 10 to report Haleigh was missing.


As the national attention grows, she and Haleigh’s family have found themselves under more and more scrutiny. Their backgrounds show many of them have been under scrutiny before, including a custody dispute, drug use and brushes with the law, according to court records and interviews.


In the interview Wednesday, Croslin said Haleigh watched “Madagascar” and “AirBud” with her brother, then snuggled beneath a blanket in a pink Hannah Montana top. She reported Haleigh was wearing that top when she disappeared.


However, Croslin said she found the shirt on Monday, when she was allowed back inside the doublewide mobile home for the first time since the disappearance. She was there to discuss the layout of the mobile home with investigators and was looking for the clothes Haleigh wore her last day at school.


She then saw the Hannah Montana shirt in a laundry pile by the back door. “When I put her blanket on she had that shirt on,” Croslin told the Times-Union on Wednesday.


She said she has no idea how the shirt wound up there.


Investigators changed a statewide Amber Alert to remove the shirt as a clothing description.


Croslin said the children’s great-grandmother, her brother and an air-conditioning repairman were the only ones to visit the mobile home that day.


After eating, Croslin said the children watched movies before Haleigh went to bed about 8:15 p.m.


The children’s father, 25-year-old Ronald Cummings, was on an evening shift at PDM Bridge in Palatka and arrived home about the time Croslin was making the 911 call.


Since then, a team of investigators sifting through 1,200 calls and tips over nine days have sent boats into the St. Johns River and searchers into the scrub miles from where Haleigh went missing about 3 a.m. Feb. 10.


So far none has produced significant results, but some tips are being considered solid, authorities said Wednesday. They said they remain optimistic.


A vehicle was seized and processed, said Dominick Pape, chief of the Jacksonville office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Pape would not release other information about the vehicle other than to say it was taken early in the investigation.


Croslin also told the Times-Union that the day Haleigh disappeared, she told authorities a cousin who had been staying in Crescent City for about a month went back to Tennessee. She said the cousin had “messed with” her sexually when she was a child but not been deemed a sexual offender.


The cousin had visited the mobile home she shared with Cummings but was told not to come back when a gun in the house turned up missing around the same time, she said.


As the investigation stretched on, a look at the family’s background shows some of the instabilities and conflicts that add to an already murky case.


Court records and interviews details brushes with the law involving Cummings as well as clashes over child custody with Crystal Sheffield, the biological mother of Haleigh and Ronald Jr.


Sheffield and Cummings never married, but she said the two were together between the times she was 14 and 19.


“I was 17 when I got pregnant with Haleigh,” said Sheffield, now 23.


Now living in Baker County, Sheffield had visitation every two weeks while Cummings had custody. Since her daughter’s disappearance, she and family members have set up a tent and shelter down the road from Cummings’ Green Lane mobile home.


Cummings, Croslin and their families are camped closer to the mobile home that still has not been turned back over to them by the Sheriff’s Office.


Cummings has had custody since 2005 when a magistrate said the children should live with him. He was employed and better able to provide health insurance to the children, the court said.


Sheffield said in the court record she had used cocaine a year before, a reason Cummings cited for wanting custody. He also said Haleigh had missed a dozen doctor’s appointments in the year before coming to live with him.


Sheffield has said Cummings was violent with her and court records show she once sought a protective order but then later asked that it be dismissed.


Cummings has said the fact that he has primary custody of the children shows he is a good parent.
But Cummings has had brushes with the law, including minor drug arrests, though most charges were dropped. In 2001 he was arrested after a man said he was threatened with a beating, according to court records.


Croslin said she met Cummings about six months ago when she was baby-sitting for a woman who had a child with Cummings.


Croslin said she was concerned the baby boy was not being cared for properly.


“I told him you need to get your son before something bad happens to him,” she said. Croslin said the two started talking. She was 16 at the time.


Her father, Hank Croslin Sr., told the Times-Union that Cummings told him he was 19 and later that he was 21.


Though Hank Croslin said he was angry at first about the lie, he said it is no longer an issue.


It is against Florida law for a person 24 or older to have relations with anyone 17 or younger, but investigators said they are not looking into the issue during the search for Haleigh. Find the little girl is their priority, they said.


The policy of the state Department of Children and Families also is to look first to the welfare of the children.
“If the children are being properly cared for and are not being abused, neglected or abandoned, then no action will be taken,” said department spokesman John Harrell.


He said the department has had “involvement” with the family in the past but could not under state confidentiality laws describe that interaction. Court records do show a review of the case over the custody issue.

SATSUMA — Misty Croslin said the accusation that she left Haleigh Cummings the night the 5-year-old disappeared is untrue.


Croslin, the 17-year-old girlfriend of Haleigh’s father, said she doesn’t know where the rumor started.


“I was there the whole night,” she told the Times-Union in an interview Wednesday where she shared several details about Haleigh’s disappearance.


It was the third time Croslin has been publicly questioned in the nine days since she called 911 on Feb. 10 to report Haleigh was missing.


As the national attention grows, she and Haleigh’s family have found themselves under more and more scrutiny. Their backgrounds show many of them have been under scrutiny before, including a custody dispute, drug use and brushes with the law, according to court records and interviews.


In the interview Wednesday, Croslin said Haleigh watched “Madagascar” and “AirBud” with her brother, then snuggled beneath a blanket in a pink Hannah Montana top. She reported Haleigh was wearing that top when she disappeared.


However, Croslin said she found the shirt on Monday, when she was allowed back inside the doublewide mobile home for the first time since the disappearance. She was there to discuss the layout of the mobile home with investigators and was looking for the clothes Haleigh wore her last day at school.


She then saw the Hannah Montana shirt in a laundry pile by the back door. “When I put her blanket on she had that shirt on,” Croslin told the Times-Union on Wednesday.


She said she has no idea how the shirt wound up there.


Investigators changed a statewide Amber Alert to remove the shirt as a clothing description.


Croslin said the children’s great-grandmother, her brother and an air-conditioning repairman were the only ones to visit the mobile home that day.


After eating, Croslin said the children watched movies before Haleigh went to bed about 8:15 p.m.


The children’s father, 25-year-old Ronald Cummings, was on an evening shift at PDM Bridge in Palatka and arrived home about the time Croslin was making the 911 call.


Since then, a team of investigators sifting through 1,200 calls and tips over nine days have sent boats into the St. Johns River and searchers into the scrub miles from where Haleigh went missing about 3 a.m. Feb. 10.


So far none has produced significant results, but some tips are being considered solid, authorities said Wednesday. They said they remain optimistic.


A vehicle was seized and processed, said Dominick Pape, chief of the Jacksonville office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Pape would not release other information about the vehicle other than to say it was taken early in the investigation.


Croslin also told the Times-Union that the day Haleigh disappeared, she told authorities a cousin who had been staying in Crescent City for about a month went back to Tennessee. She said the cousin had “messed with” her sexually when she was a child but not been deemed a sexual offender.


The cousin had visited the mobile home she shared with Cummings but was told not to come back when a gun in the house turned up missing around the same time, she said.


As the investigation stretched on, a look at the family’s background shows some of the instabilities and conflicts that add to an already murky case.


Court records and interviews details brushes with the law involving Cummings as well as clashes over child custody with Crystal Sheffield, the biological mother of Haleigh and Ronald Jr.


Sheffield and Cummings never married, but she said the two were together between the times she was 14 and 19.


“I was 17 when I got pregnant with Haleigh,” said Sheffield, now 23.


Now living in Baker County, Sheffield had visitation every two weeks while Cummings had custody. Since her daughter’s disappearance, she and family members have set up a tent and shelter down the road from Cummings’ Green Lane mobile home.


Cummings, Croslin and their families are camped closer to the mobile home that still has not been turned back over to them by the Sheriff’s Office.


Cummings has had custody since 2005 when a magistrate said the children should live with him. He was employed and better able to provide health insurance to the children, the court said.


Sheffield said in the court record she had used cocaine a year before, a reason Cummings cited for wanting custody. He also said Haleigh had missed a dozen doctor’s appointments in the year before coming to live with him.


Sheffield has said Cummings was violent with her and court records show she once sought a protective order but then later asked that it be dismissed.


Cummings has said the fact that he has primary custody of the children shows he is a good parent.
But Cummings has had brushes with the law, including minor drug arrests, though most charges were dropped. In 2001 he was arrested after a man said he was threatened with a beating, according to court records.


Croslin said she met Cummings about six months ago when she was baby-sitting for a woman who had a child with Cummings.


Croslin said she was concerned the baby boy was not being cared for properly.


“I told him you need to get your son before something bad happens to him,” she said. Croslin said the two started talking. She was 16 at the time.


Her father, Hank Croslin Sr., told the Times-Union that Cummings told him he was 19 and later that he was 21.


Though Hank Croslin said he was angry at first about the lie, he said it is no longer an issue.


It is against Florida law for a person 24 or older to have relations with anyone 17 or younger, but investigators said they are not looking into the issue during the search for Haleigh. Find the little girl is their priority, they said.


The policy of the state Department of Children and Families also is to look first to the welfare of the children.
“If the children are being properly cared for and are not being abused, neglected or abandoned, then no action will be taken,” said department spokesman John Harrell.


He said the department has had “involvement” with the family in the past but could not under state confidentiality laws describe that interaction. Court records do show a review of the case over the custody issue.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sherriff's Office says that the FBI is investigating Misty Croslin's cousin. Eyewitness News learned Thursday that Misty Croslin's cousin, known as "Joe" was in town the night Haleigh disappeared.

There are now questions about what role Joe may have played in the disappearance. After the little girl vanished, he took off to Tennessee.

Did anyone explain the story concerning a blanket leaving in a van? Misty's story is that when her brother Tommy left with his sons, they took her (Misty's) blanket in their van. She was left with two blankets. One hanging over the window to block the light because Ronald sleeps during the day. The other blanket was Haleigh's which had been peed on the night before. She covered Haleigh with a sheet until the blankets were washed. After they were washed, she covered Haleigh with her (Haleigh's) blanket.

I saw Misti on the Today show and Matt was asking her some questions and it was all she could do to answer him, very stilted answers like she is sick and tired of people in her face asking questions and speculating whether she was home all night that night and I still am. Matt asked her and it was like she did not want to answer that one and I saw the big tent they have been staying in and I heard today somebody gave them an RV, that was nice of someone to do that. I have completely ruled out Ronnie and Chrystal, they would never win any parent awards but it is clear to me they do love Haleigh. My problem lies with Misti. Now today, she says she does not know much about her own cousin and says she does not trust him and I am thinking, then why in hell did you let him in your house? And while the fact that he is or isn't a sex offender has not been established by LE as of yet, but the very fact he left town the day Haleigh went missing gives me cause for pause. If so, why in God's name would you bring kin or no kin that is a SOi nto a home with young children???? Did she think that he would not touch Haleigh? I hope this is not the case, she takes off and he comes back and snaps the kid. Once again, another day of questions without answers.

In the video, Misti's mom is telling reporters (well, Misti is, too, a bit) they aren't going to speak, to leave them alone. The not speaking to reporters does seem to be a good idea. But, I don't see why they are going on Today or any of the shows when they aren't going to actually answer questions. Just decline politely.

Upthread someone mentioned about Ronald's answers. He says all he wants is his daughter to come home. Any other questions is answered with, I don't know, ask the detectives. Which I think is a good way to answer, by the way, whether he knows the answers or not--get the information from the horse's mouth, so to speak. That way, he cannot misquoted on whatever information he has been given by detectives. "All I want is my daughter to come home. These questions about my life aren't going to help her come home. Ask the detectives." Instead of getting upset that he isn't going to reveal any information he has (because reporters know the family in any case is kept advised of some of the investigation) they should not ASK the questions he isn't going to answer. You can see HE gets upset that they continue to ask. Maybe they should just ask how the family is doing and have him ask to have Haleigh returned (which is something family in another case NEVER seemed to say) and leave it @ that.

SATSUMA — Misty Croslin said the accusation that she left Haleigh Cummings the night the 5-year-old disappeared is untrue.


Croslin, the 17-year-old girlfriend of Haleigh’s father, said she doesn’t know where the rumor started.


“I was there the whole night,” she told the Times-Union in an interview Wednesday where she shared several details about Haleigh’s disappearance.


It was the third time Croslin has been publicly questioned in the nine days since she called 911 on Feb. 10 to report Haleigh was missing.


As the national attention grows, she and Haleigh’s family have found themselves under more and more scrutiny. Their backgrounds show many of them have been under scrutiny before, including a custody dispute, drug use and brushes with the law, according to court records and interviews.


In the interview Wednesday, Croslin said Haleigh watched “Madagascar” and “AirBud” with her brother, then snuggled beneath a blanket in a pink Hannah Montana top. She reported Haleigh was wearing that top when she disappeared.


However, Croslin said she found the shirt on Monday, when she was allowed back inside the doublewide mobile home for the first time since the disappearance. She was there to discuss the layout of the mobile home with investigators and was looking for the clothes Haleigh wore her last day at school.


She then saw the Hannah Montana shirt in a laundry pile by the back door. “When I put her blanket on she had that shirt on,” Croslin told the Times-Union on Wednesday.


She said she has no idea how the shirt wound up there.


Investigators changed a statewide Amber Alert to remove the shirt as a clothing description.


Croslin said the children’s great-grandmother, her brother and an air-conditioning repairman were the only ones to visit the mobile home that day.


After eating, Croslin said the children watched movies before Haleigh went to bed about 8:15 p.m.


The children’s father, 25-year-old Ronald Cummings, was on an evening shift at PDM Bridge in Palatka and arrived home about the time Croslin was making the 911 call.

This isn't true---the call wasn't initiated until AFTER Ronald had arrived home. This is the first (that I have read) where the call was being made AS he was returning home. He says Misti met him @ the door with Haleigh is missing and he looked thru the home before they called 911. Misti also has said she didn't call UNTIL he got home.

Since then, a team of investigators sifting through 1,200 calls and tips over nine days have sent boats into the St. Johns River and searchers into the scrub miles from where Haleigh went missing about 3 a.m. Feb. 10.


So far none has produced significant results, but some tips are being considered solid, authorities said Wednesday. They said they remain optimistic.


A vehicle was seized and processed, said Dominick Pape, chief of the Jacksonville office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Pape would not release other information about the vehicle other than to say it was taken early in the investigation.

I wonder if this is the car they found abandoned that belonged to the missing SO? That was early in the investigation. Even if they found there was no connection to Haleigh, the car WAS impounded as part of their looking into the disappearance of the SO, and they DID investigate whether or not there was a connection.

Croslin also told the Times-Union that the day Haleigh disappeared, she told authorities a cousin who had been staying in Crescent City for about a month went back to Tennessee. She said the cousin had “messed with” her sexually when she was a child but not been deemed a sexual offender.


The cousin had visited the mobile home she shared with Cummings but was told not to come back when a gun in the house turned up missing around the same time, she said.


As the investigation stretched on, a look at the family’s background shows some of the instabilities and conflicts that add to an already murky case.


Court records and interviews details brushes with the law involving Cummings as well as clashes over child custody with Crystal Sheffield, the biological mother of Haleigh and Ronald Jr.


Sheffield and Cummings never married, but she said the two were together between the times she was 14 and 19.


“I was 17 when I got pregnant with Haleigh,” said Sheffield, now 23.

So, if she is now 23, Ronald would have been 18 or 19 when she was pregnant? Just a 2 year age difference, and not a statutory rape situation w/her @ all. Even if they were having sex @ the beginning of their relationship, he would only have been 16.


Now living in Baker County, Sheffield had visitation every two weeks while Cummings had custody. Since her daughter’s disappearance, she and family members have set up a tent and shelter down the road from Cummings’ Green Lane mobile home.


Cummings, Croslin and their families are camped closer to the mobile home that still has not been turned back over to them by the Sheriff’s Office.


Cummings has had custody since 2005 when a magistrate said the children should live with him. He was employed and better able to provide health insurance to the children, the court said.


Sheffield said in the court record she had used cocaine a year before, a reason Cummings cited for wanting custody. He also said Haleigh had missed a dozen doctor’s appointments in the year before coming to live with him.


Sheffield has said Cummings was violent with her and court records show she once sought a protective order but then later asked that it be dismissed.


Cummings has said the fact that he has primary custody of the children shows he is a good parent. Sorry, Ronald. It means no such thing. There are some parents all over the world have custody of their children who ARE NOT "good parents."
But Cummings has had brushes with the law, including minor drug arrests, though most charges were dropped. In 2001 he was arrested after a man said he was threatened with a beating, according to court records.

There was an article in my local newspaper recently that brought attention to the high number of teenage pregnancies. The paper identified one black man, 22 years old, that has fathered 17 children. The 15 different mothers are currently between the ages of 14 to 18. Most of the girls are pleased with the situation because the government pays them to stay home with the kids. Free money, food stamps, and medical care. They don't have to get a highschool education or a job. They have arrived at the promised land.

We have all came to the conclusion that there is total dysfunction here and it is their lifestyle that is probably why their kid was snapped. Leaving a 17 year old to play Mommy who from where I sit is not very bright and what galls me is Ron lets her move right in after what 5 months to be charge of his two young children without knowing much about her?? Or her kinfolk??? If cuz is such a bad ass then why did she let him in the home, never heard the word no before? I still stand until I hear otherwise that I don't think she was home all night as she claims and if that turns out to be the case, then she is even more of a loser than I already think she is, she by not being upfront, could have cost this child her life. Glad to know you feel that way too. I've had niggling doubts that Haleigh is alive, and that LE has proof, but in light of the fact that Misty (and perhaps Ronald) is/are jacking them around, that they're sweating them. Then again, that seems awfully cruel to the people who genuinely care for Haleigh.

From a law enforcement perspective, I am really really dying to know what they know! I guess this Sheriff's Dept is not too forthcoming with info and that hopefully works in their favor and this little girl comes home in one piece. I just talked to another friend who is a retired cop from MN and he said that he too, believes that Misti is not telling the truth and he said why just like I did, body language. This great man was in LE for 40 years and sadly, is dying of inoperable cancer, but he still maintains the fire that kept his career burning. He has been following this case closely and feels that Misti is holding back, but he thinks several things including that she might know who took the child and is way too afraid to admit it to anyone, he also is not ruling out the possibility that she left the kids home alone and I told him that is my take, and her body language and vague answers to simple questions puts him on high alert. He also is not ruling out a SO could be in the park and not one person has a clue, he puts this forth because of that scumbag Couey. He is thinking out of the box for sure!!!

We all know if left up to them, SO's will not register, or will not live where there are supposed to be, like Couey. There is this POS in NH that worried the hell out of me back in December and had my computer been up and running I would have posted about this scumbag !!! He spent 6 years for raping a little girl, actually maxed out on his sentence, which meant he was as free as a bird, no supervision of any kind. He could not move to where his mother lives as she lives in a trailer park, full of kids, so he was living on the streets and whining about it to the Union Leader and WMUR, local media. He whined about not being able to get a job because of his SO status and believe you me, this POS has a record a mile long, got probation for molesting at least 4 other kids going back to the late 80's early 90's, IMO, a bona fide predator. And what does he also tell the media? That because he is so depressed, he is afraid he will re-offend?? HUH??? Put his ass back in jail NOW was the cry from the public except for some stupid bleeding heart who took pity and gave him a room in a rooming house, not near children.

If you go back and read the judge's comments, you will find that he felt that Cummings was more financially stable. Which confuses the hell out of me in that he was declared indigent by the courts when it came time for him to pony up money for his defense on his various charges.

Why wasn't a guardian ad litem assigned to this case to determine children's best interest and appropriate placement? My hunch is that Ronnie took those kids so he wouldn't have to pay child support. I don't mean to offend anyone with this comment but I work with these cases every day and the court system does not always do right by the kids. JMO.

I'm not sure of the cost of living in FL, but take home of $1800+ to $2600 per month seems decent (though not great!). I only had one child to support back when I was a single mother with a deadbeat ex, and that was a loooooonnnnggg time ago, so my perspective may be way off. If he ever lived with his mother as he told the court, it would seem that he might have some savings. Than again, it may have all gone to court fines. And he may be helping the Baby Mama of his possible son.

As for Geraldo, I see no reason to actually show the photo of Haleigh if it exists. Substantiating abuse would suffice.

I really think the judge had to make a decision based on the lesser of two evils, and wonder if Crystal had had a car and/or a driver's license at the time, if he would have ordered joint custody. They both had drug history, but Ron has a job which may require random drug tests (I don't know that, but it's a possibility), and could provide insurance through his work. Crystal didn't have a job at the time. The care of the children was predicated on his residence with his other, and I wonder how long he lived with her.

According to the court file, Crystal now has a DL, a car, a job, and a mortgage and I read somewhere that she has completed a parenting course. (Don't know if Ronnie or Misty have ever taken any parenting classes.)

It's pretty rare around here for a guardian ad litem to be appointed for a divorce case unless CFS is heavily involved. To tell you the truth, when Haleigh comes home, or things have settled down, I am hopeful that the courts are going to take a long hard look at Cummings; I know that I'll be writing several letters in support of Junior's safety and future in a safer environment than previously. (I had a really difficult time understanding the man who gave the press conference today because of the audio quality, but it sounded like there is a possibility that the living situation has been discussed enough that it has become at least a secondary concern to officials.)

Omigosh, Crystal said the C word when she's talking about Ronald verbally abused her, and said that he was physically abusive. She says that she was told that Cummings backhanded Haleigh and knocked her down. Marie has a picture of Haleigh with a black eye, a cut on her nose and a bruise on the left side of her face. Well I guess I can't say 100% but she lives in the same place, her name is Amber, and Misti put that comment. If Misti and Ronald have been togather for more then 3 months(which she has said they have been togather longer) then Ronald would be the guy she was putting that she 'took' him. She may be lying about her age on myspace although I bet Misti was mistaken like she has been about everything. Give her a day and she will change Amber's age.

Well, the gloves are off, apparently the families are back at each other's throats. Omigosh, Crystal said the C word when she's talking about Ronald verbally abused her, and said that he was physically abusive. She says that she was told that Cummings backhanded Haleigh and knocked her down. Marie has a picture of Haleigh with a black eye, a cut on her nose and a bruise on the left side of her face. Marie says that they were told that these injuries were from an incident at school according to school records, but she doesn't believe that.

Thanks for the updates, Loretta and everyone else. NONE of this info surprises me in the least. Ronald McRage has been an abuser for years. I knew his crying and carrying on like a wounded daddy is fake. He has a long history of abusing his female partners ad you know he's abused those kids, especially Haleigh. So. . .why didn't Crystal or her mother report to CPS??!! If the school suspected ANYTHING at all, they should have reported as well.

Looked at some of Geraldo again and wondering several things:

The two families had decided to put their differences aside last week. What has changed?

There should be written reports and a photograph of Haleigh's injuries from the school accident either taken by the school or the hospital. That should be compared to the photograph that Marie has. If Haleigh's injuries at some point were more severe than what the school recalls, they should have been reported to DCF by the school.

Cummings did seem stoned to me and even though he was controlled, it took effort. His denial of using drugs is ridiculous; his record is public. It was ironic that he was threatening to press charges for some of the things being said. But I'm not sure irony is in his realm of thought. I don't think I heard him refer to Haleigh a single time as "Haleigh". She's always "his child" or "his daughter". I don't think I've ever heard him refer to her as "Doodlebug" (supposedly her nickname) throughout this entire ordeal.

I can't stand it when he cries and his voice goes all wonky.

It does seem outrageous that Geraldo would in effect blow Cummings' cover as a confidential informant, true or otherwise. If Ronald didn't have enemies before, he probably does now.

Is it at all possible that the Cummings family doesn't know how GR operates? That the type of questions he asked tonight are a huge topic of discussion that the other media has touched on as well? Why did he agree to talk to Geraldo and Craig?

Cummings will always believe that Haleigh is alive until they find her. I can't describe how that sounds, but almost like he's been told that she's dead or has received a specific threat.

Did Geraldo At Large pay any of these people to speak to him? Did Fox pay to show Haleigh's photo with the bruises? Did something happen within the past few days that Fox got wind of that convinced GR that he should go to Satsuma and confront RC in person?

I would agree with Mrs. Neves that Fox (and everyone else) is commercializing Haleigh's disappearance except they agree to talk to him. Were they duped? Did Geraldo think that by confronting Cummings that he would get some bombshell (there's that word!) information?

Something is not right with these families and especially with Ron's and Misty's stories. I think the FBI should send in a negotiator or mediator. (Being somewhat facetious here.) I smell a rat.

Haaaa!!!! Yes, on the vac! I just had the kitchen done, so now the other rooms look dank, so I decided to paint them myself. I need some exercise badly and the winter fat is on high. I have cabin fever.. groan. Deciding not to let winter depression settle in (common around these parts) I am giving myself a project.

Every time I finish a project in this old house, I tell Poppa, This is the LAST time I will paint, wallpaper, etc.. I'm done! I'm too old for this! But then I do it again :) Some things I can't do though, like granite counters LOL! And roof work. Fuggeddaboudit!

I'd rather be cooking.

this case is reminding more and more of the case here in st louis of missing 12 year girl disappeared while babysitting for you guessed it a drug dealer. she has never been seen since. the loser never did any time for drugs or her murder but the body has never been found. this has really been a sad case. I remember when it first happen you could tell all involved including Mom were losers.

Yes, agree! His daughter's killer only got six years, iirc. I remember him at the OJ trial in shock when they read the verdict. His face was unforgettable, he was horrified. He's *real*... some would love to put a muzzle on him.

There are so many loser families these days it almost seems the norm at times!! I have been teaching for a long time (30yrs) and I have been in the inner city for 15 of those yrs and I just can't believe how we do not protect our kids. We have so many issues at school and the issues are not academic but family related that impinge on the academic success of many of our students. My heart breaks for them. For the last few years we have used our Title 1 money, not for another reading teacher, but for a full time social worker who doesn't stop all day just dealing with home related problems. I see so many kids who, if I could get them out of their families, would really be able to excel

Thanks for the updates, Loretta and everyone else. NONE of this info surprises me in the least. Ronald McRage has been an abuser for years. I knew his crying and carrying on like a wounded daddy is fake. He has a long history of abusing his female partners ad you know he's abused those kids, especially Haleigh. So. . .why didn't Crystal or her mother report to CPS??!! If the school suspected ANYTHING at all, they should have reported as well.
Gloves are off all right and we all know what happens when they start accusing each other, all the ugly truths start surfacing. LE is doing a great job keeping tight lipped. Let the wholefam-damly start spilling their guts!!

Missed the GR show tonight. Glad everyone provided details. Although I can't stomach much of Grrrraldo, his brother Craig OK.

I suppose its OK if gets everyone to rat on everyone else, but I also think it is rather mean. Last week they were geting along and had the birthday party and the prayer vigil together. Now they are at each other's throats. I think the media is responsible for keeping things stirred up and they ought to be ashamed.

I have really tried to drill this into my kids heads. I have noticed that all of them try to sound "badder" than they are. My youngins are good, but they want to sound tuff. :no:

no kidding. the best kids i know, little church going generous gentle angels (okay, they do karate on each other sometimes), i caught them online flashing gang-signs! wth???? its all fun until someone gets hurt.
