Amy, totally agree that Miss Nancy looks either like an idiot, ill-informed or an outright liar. That third one is apropos in light of her coziness with the likes of Ron and Mother Teresa, yet she has the gall to disdain only Misty. You really do have to wonder why she never asked Teresa where her DIL was, or about the big fight - looks like Nancy may have been sneaking a peak at artharris.com. I love that HLN is giving its hosts permission and airtime to keep these kids' names and faces in the public, but had the drama that some of the same people use to bump up the ratings. It's exploitative in its own way. But who am I to talk? These cases could easily be construed as entertainment (to me) by someone who doesn't understand how important analytical thinking and human behavior is to me. (Someone like Leroy. )
ETA: I have a hard time believing that LE didn't know where Misty was and who she was with while on vacay.

Tenn. Sends Lisa Croslin Back To Fla.
Misty Cummings' Mother Extradited On Forgery Charges
A Tennessee court decided this week that Misty Cummings' mother, Lisa Croslin, will be returned to Florida after a warrant was issued for her arrest on charges of forgery.
Misty Cummings baby-sat Haleigh Cummings before the girl's disappearance in February.
Croslin is accused of stealing a check from her former Putnam County neighbor before she moved to Tennessee.
Hank Cummings Jr., Misty's brother, is accused of stealing a shovel from the same neighbor.

That would be an intersting question to get answered.

Hmmm. Wonder if that is why Lisa Croslin up and moved, seemingly without notice (cuz, they are ALL under a microscope, and can do and say little that isn't caught by someone.) Perhaps thinking, out of sight, out of mind, and that the neighbor wouldn't press charges? Or, maybe she didn't think LE would figure out where she went? :D
Maybe Miz Nancy got confused, and there were headlines ready to go for when "the cops bring Lisa Croslin back to Putnam county but Nancy tho't it was related to Misty returning?
So, this wouldn't be the same neighbor where one or the other took the gun? They evidently seem to think that people's possessions are community property or something.

Don't see the shovel on the police report, but the checks aren't listed as stolen either, so there is an additional report(s):

Is all this NG stuff tonight just cut and paste from other episodes? Looks like Miss Nancy is wearing the same outfit as last night (that brown necklace is not cute with those shades of green). Only halfway through, is there anything new? Where's Misty?

I watched the Nancy Grace program on HLN tonight. What a waste of time. We got to hear the 911 call for the three hundredth time. Having eaten up the game clock Nancy then regaled us with the “BOMBSHELL” about Tommy Croslin being arrested and held on a $50k bond. Yawn, and also very old news. With these two pieces of idiocy Nancy wasted almost 20 minutes of air time.
Then we get a whopping 30 second interview (old) with Ronald Cummings, it was another ‘Miss Nancy’ special!
From the archive we get a couple of vintage minutes of video coverage from inside the trailer.
Back to brother Tommy for a few minutes, and drivel about old news and the fact that that he admitted (in order to get his bail reduced) that he went to the trailer that night and was of the opinion that no one was home. Nancy refers to this as a confession! Oh my!
Then back to an ancient interview with Ronald ‘Miss Nancy’ Cummings. OK now the game clock is at 40 minutes and we have heard nothing that is not at least a week old, in fact most of it is months old!
Next some video of Teresa Neves talking about the jail house letter (first one) from Nay Nay. More yawn inducing stuff.
At the 46 minute mark Miss Nancy moves onto Misty and her latest failed Polygraph! At the 48 minute mark we get more canned video, this time from Crystal Shefield.
At the 51 minute mark I was becoming comatose. If I want old news I can get it at my local library, they keep copies of the newspapers for many years.
So, here is the question. What was the purpose of the Nancy Grace show tonight? It certainly had nothing to do with news. Although I guess that we should be glad for small miracles, at least she wasn’t hyping up her less than brilliant book, and we did not have to put up with the mind numbing photo album of her kids.
I know why one regular guest bowed out of the show, but what happened to the rest? Today’s show was a delightful, and well executed piece of video editing, and the technicians are to be congratulated. But I ask why? Why was this drivel fed to us in prime time?
I do actually have a couple of ideas, but I think I will keep them to myself for the time being.

I didn't see the blurb advertising what her show would be about tonight. Surely it wasn't the bombshell about Misty being hauled back to Satsuma by the cops? Which, of course isn't what happened, anyway. Or, was that JVM?
From another post, I was thinking it sounded just like Mr Barrett said, a bunch of videos put together. Which of course, makes me think Miz Nancy took the night off, for one. Now, maybe it's just cuz she wants to spend more time w/her tykes. Or, maybe she's licking her wounds if anyone took her to task about leading w/National Enquirer type headlines, then the core of the story isn't anything like the lead-in or lead up.
I wonder if we will see more of this (well, not me, so much, but those of you who do tune in) for her days off. Instead of having a stand-in who just might get better reviews than she does? I don't know what ideas Mr Barrett is keeping to himself, but these are my ideas. ;)

This was posted on Nancy's CNN space on Tuesday afternoon:
Don't miss: Misty Croslin, the last person to reportedly see Haleigh Cummings alive is hiding something -- according to the Sheriff's Department. What is she keeping to herself? Police have said her story is "sketchy," & everything she has said is a "complete farce." What does the babysitter know? Exclusive interviews with key players, including Haleigh's dad & the woman in question, his new wife, Misty Croslin! Watch Nancy Grace's special coverage, Thursday, October 1 at 8 & 10 p.m. ET!
I didn't see anything new, just all the old interviews with ng; we saw Ron&Misty, plus TN, and Crystal and Marie. Just regurgitation. Wonder why Miss Nancy didn't get an exclusive with Friend of the Show Mother Teresa and give us an exclusive on exactly where Misty has been and for how long. And who she was with on the days Ron and Butterbean weren't with her.

At the beginning of this segment, didn't MS tell Miss Nancy that Misty is with Teresa? Does TN also live with GGMS? Was thinking that they all lived together at the time of the custody business, but didn't realize they're all in the same place now.
Yes she did Loretta.
MARLAINA SCHIAVO, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: Misty is in the Satsuma area. Actually, tonight she`s with Teresa`s -- excuse me -- she`s with Ronald`s mother, Teresa.

NOW HERE THIS!! The state of FL felt COMPELLED to SPEND $200,000 keeping that scumbag babyraping POS Couey high and happy to the end!! Can you dig this s!it!!!! Doctors and nurses waiting on his sorry f*cking ass making sure he was all hooked up on pain meds and color TV and AC and he got to die peacefully and I was so pissed off not only did I send them a nasty gram, in true Wind fashion I called them up and asked them why did they feel like they had to prolong that maggot's life when all they had to do was feed him some f*cking Advil and call it a day, he was in pain, Oh f*cking well!!!!! I said that I did not feel that the taxpayers and Mark being one of them have to pick up the tab for this POS and that it was not fair to make them when everyone in FL would have showed up with a gun, a bullet costs a f*cking dime, and wasted him on the spot!!! That maggot had been in the hospital since Aug 12th can you imagine how much it costs a day in ICU???? All toll, WJXT was told it was over $200,000, but how many people in FL that might have cancer or another terminal disease like I have, might not have insurance and can't afford treatments or meds that could ease the pain or prolong their lives so is DOC going to pick up their tabs too?? NOPE!!! The guy I talked was one of those smooth talking PR dudes and I was not impressed with his answers, I said for Christs sakes, at some point the state was gonna waste him, why spend money to keep him happy when deserved to be raped by 30 Bubba's and then put his bleeding asshole in a hole and bury him!!! He gets a little prissy with me and I like to mess with people like that, he probably had cue cards to how to approach the angry citizen and says to me, that they could not allow him to suffer and I was like say what??? What about Jessie?? When that pig was stuffing his dick in her tender little vagina, what was she feeling???? How did she feel underground, dying all alone and you think he had the right to die pain free and peacefully??? He says to me that he understands people are upset, but it is the POLICY!!! OF COURSE!! IF these maggots even have an ingrown f*cking toenail, they can't even be executed!!!!! I have a friend who does not have insurance, she is in my Lupus support group and she pays for all her meds and treatments out of pocket and this woman has never even had a parking ticket and no one wants to help her!!!! Guess if she whacked someone or held up a bank, she would be all hooked up with medical care!!! Unf*cking real!!! A maggot, who never did a decent thing in his life, he stole, he robbed, he molested, he raped, he sold drugs, and he gets decent medical care all the way to end of his miserable life!!!! $200,000 F*CKING DOLLARS! MY NEXT CALL IS THE THE GOVERNOR BECAUSE THE TAXPAYERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THIS UNLESS THEY GET HOOKED UP WITH FREE MEDICAL CARE TOO!!!!

There was very little info about him dying from cancer. I'm sure poor little Jessica Lunsford could have used something to ease her pain while she was buried alive.
Inmates usually do receive some excellent medical care, Wind. It's wrong as 'HECK' but sadly it is true, and you rarely ever hear about it.
I work at a fairly exclusive (expensive) hospital and I went into work one night to find a very large, mean-looking man sitting in the doorway of one of the patient's rooms.
It was a new patient and since it's what some would call a 'ritzy' hospital I didn't think much of it. Since I am charge nurse it was my place to find out all I could about new patients, etc.
I was extremely busy because I had been off for a few days and had some catching up to do. I noticed the strange guy was wearing some sort of uniform and had a gun in a side holster. I immediately figured it was another wealthy person that had brought a body guard to protect them from the other patients (it happened once before on my watch).
I made a mental note to (as soon as I caught up a bit) tell the man he would have to ditch the gun, because it was against hospital policy (unless he was an actual LE officer).
I jokingly asked one of the nurses who the big shot was that needed protecting. Imagine my surprise when she said "oh, he's not here to protect the patient, he's here to protect us".
Turns out the patient was a prisoner that needed a little TLC the prison hospital couldn't give him, so the state paid for him to come to us, complete with a body guard (paid for by the hospital, and reimbursed by the state).

Haleigh Cummings – Conflicting Reports About Family
by Simon Barrett
If you think that Misty Croslin’s time line of events the night that Haleigh Cummings went missing is strange, just check what various news sources are reporting about what they are saying about the recent ‘vacation’ to Orlando.
Some sources are claiming that Ron and Misty had some huge fight prior to the vacation. Nancy Grace and her people certainly played that one up! Yet a TV station (WESH) captured an entirely different different picture, it was a planned escape for a few days, a way to escape from the cameras, the goodbye kiss between Ron and Misty, that pat on her bottom. This hardly looks like the apex of a huge domestic dispute.
Exclusive: Misty Cummings Back With Haleigh’s Dad, was the ‘BlockBuster’ reported yesterday by one site. Well, hardly exclusive news, at no time was Misty MIA. In fact the real truth is somewhat more prosaic, the plan was for them all to get away for a few days, escape the media spotlight. Of course that idea went south as soon as the press discovered that Misty was not around, there was no way that Ronald and Jr could even go to the local convenience store without being hassled.
What I find hugely interesting is that the Exclusive: Misty Cummings Back With Haleigh’s Dad story has changed completely since it was posted yesterday. Damn I just knew I should have taken a screen grab of it! But silly me, I assumed that the story would stand, and a retraction offered. That is the way that the real press work. Of course the internet makes it easy to change the occasional wildly off the mark story and still be right!
Ronald and Jr did manage a quick vacation with Misty, but it was far from the one originally planned. They did however manage to spend a little time together away from the spotlight. Do not get me wrong, I have no love for either Ron or Misty, I would not entertain either of these people in a ‘wood shed’, but I am glad that Jr at least had a break.
“Where is Misty” Nancy demanded last week? Well Nancy, Misty was actually in the TV studio in Jacksonville that Teresa Neves was talking from. She had traveled there with Teresa Neves! She was in the green room watching the show on a big screen TV!
Irving Wallace published a great book in the early 1970’s, the title was The Almighty and it concerned a media mogul warping, and even creating their own news. Is this what we have here?
This is the second time this week that I have seen manipulation. I am sure that this subject will crop up on tomorrows radio program. To tune in point your browser to http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ a few minutes before 3pm central on Oct/4, or you can use this link (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Simon-Barrett/2009/10/04/Haleigh-Anthony-Update).
The search for Haleigh Cummings is the key, not selling books, not selling your soul. Neither Jan, myself, or TJ Hart have made, or taken a dime on this story. Maybe that is where we have gone wrong?
Tune in, it might be a firecracker of a program!

EXCLUSIVE: “NO PARTY…I WAS SLEEPING”—Misty Cummings.
In an exclusive interview with Misty Cummings’ sister in law, Chelsea Croslin tells The Bald Truth she confronted Misty with the Haleigh drug overdose allegations from a jailhouse letter written by her party pal, Nay Nay Kristina Prevatt, and asked her what she was doing the night Haleigh went missing.
“I asked, ‘What’s up with this (Nay Nay) letter, Misty?” Chelsea is telling me from Massachussets, referring to allegations police say came from an ex- Putnam County jail inmate who claims Misty took the children to a party where Haleigh took oxycontin accidentally and died the night the missing child vanished. “And Misty said, ‘Oh, no, no, that’s not true! I don’t know what happened. I was sleeping.’”
It was a quick call, almost two weeks ago, said Chelsea, who moved North at the urging of her parents, to escape the madness and Satsuma family dysfunction from the story, to try to start fresh with husband Timmie, and their kids.
She’d just gotten a phone call from a Putnam County detective informing her that Ronald had filed a harassment complaint against Misty’s brother, Timmie, for calling him. Apparently words were exchanged, according to the police report obtained by The Bald Truth. Chelsea was shocked Misty might be behind it...
...Whatever happened during her road trip, the state of her marriage appears to be on the mend, for the moment, with a tougher, more independent Misty emerging, says her lawyer, Robert Fields.
In an exclusive interview with me, Fields says he expects Misty to come out swinging and defend herself sometime in the next couple of weeks, and issue a statement that disputes the police broadside against her–that she knows more than she’s telling about what happened to Haleigh. “The whole experience, where she keeps taking it on the chin, has given her a new resolve to stand up for herself,” he tells The Bald Truth...

Haleigh Cummings And Caylee Anthony Update Sun Oct/4
...There was some movement (sideways) in the Caylee Anthony story, and we spent a few minutes discussing it. The bulk of the time though was spent on the still missing Haleigh Cummings.
The past week actually revealed little in the search for Haleigh Cummings, but it revealed a great deal about the press! At what point does the writer, or broadcaster say “Enough”.
Last week showed who is real and who is Memorex in the press!
What are the facts in the Haleigh Cummings case? I’ll be honest, I do not know. If I did, I would have written an article naming the culprit months ago.
The Haleigh Cummings story makes my head spin. But I do know that there are people that give a damn. TJ Hart stepped up to the plate this week, and both Jan and I say “Yay TJ”!
When you smell a rat, you do not buy into it. Other journalists opted to be swayed, but not TJ. He walked away from a bogus angle on a story, I can not tell you how proud I am to say I know him!...

Haleigh Cummings – Another One Throws Themselves Under The Bus
When it comes to the families associated with Haleigh Cummings the word dysfunctional keeps cropping up. The Croslin’s, the Cummings, and the Sheffield’s all seem to have a unique talent for finding trouble to get into. I received this story from William ‘Cobra’ Staubs, it is too good not to share with you - Simon
Rattling noises heard in Kentucky
By: Investigator William Cobra Staubs
During the BNN radio show on Sunday, the panel was asked if the Sheffield’s had been seen of or heard from.. I had not spoken to my client Ruby, mother in law of Johnny aka Marty Sheffield since July. TJ Hart of WSKY 97.3 stated that, he had not heard of the Maria, Crystal clan since August.
By sheer coincidence Marty called from Kentucky to up-date this investigator on the going’s on back home.
Anyway, here we go, now you may want to savor these words as the story is very funny, or not so it you are Ruby. As you know by now, the Sheffield’s men folk side, moved to Kentucky and life was quiet for a bit. Then the kin folk to Ruby picked a verbal fight...

This is probably a stupid thought but what if LE talked this woman into taking Misty away to try to get info out of her? Take her somewhere where she can relax. Get her away from Ron. Maybe they are thinking she's more likely to slip up this way. Could it be that the lady was close to getting something out of her the last time and that's the reason for this vacation when she hasn't even been back home very long? I'm probably wrong but that's what went through my head. Misty is just stupid enough to fall for this trick.

Errin, is that Wayanne Kruger? I read that she threatened to sue Simon at BNN. Seems like the Barretts are collecting online enemies lately. :hat:
A&O, not stupid at all. I can imagine LE not discouraging people from trying to get Misty to talk, but whatever they report back would be hearsay wouldn't it? Of course, whatever it takes to even know where to start looking for Haleigh would be a boon. What is stupid is Hank Croslin calling LE to report someone stole his 140 Lortabs (read at radionewz). Dayum, he could sell those on the street and come up with some bond money for the missuz.
I can also imagine someone just wanting to insert herself into the case for the heckuvit.
Man, Mike Brooks was really fired up tonight on NG! TN sounded like a jackarse. And kind of stoned. "Which family?" HUH? Which family does she think? And they want answers from Misty but pay for Vacay #1 and just shrug off Vacay #2. Enable much? And I noticed that she said that Ronnie received unemployment. Has it run out already? So what'she using for money now? Marlena seems to go along with Miss Nancy's idea that Ron lost his job while looking for Haleigh.
None of these people act right (what we perceive to be right anyway.)

Good post!
The majority of those folks are stoned, some of them normally. Last night on NG, if I saw the clip of Misty walking with the woman in black (she looks pregnant) one more time I was going to puke. Talk about beating a dead horse! So Misty takes off again! I was thinking the little airhead had never been further than the edge of town and saw Orlando, went nuts over it and had a brat attack when she had to return. I'm thinking she's looking for a new apartment, trailer or rich guy who can give her a better lifestyle.
Imagine all the men who are seeing her all over the tube. Some of them might want to get a piece of that young tail, and willing to pay a high price for it. Why give it to Ron for free? Every time the media shows that young thing and her perfect clevage, it's like they are posting a picture of a child (she is a child) who is up for grabs to the sickos who watch for that stuff on TV and the internet. She understands that concept. It's probably normal to her. :(
I'm sure she's wanting a taste of the good life eh? And obviously she's been trained early to share that tail. Her life was shipwrecked at birth. Soooo, she's back in Orlando, what does she have to loose? If she's holding back info on Haleigh, it's her last hurrah! IMO

Yeah, Mike was fired up and he was exactly right, this skank in all probability murdered that sweet child because she could not deal with her and once again, this little piece of tail is on another "VACATION" to Orlando???? I am convinced that it will take Haleigh's body being finally found before LE can actually arrest her, but they do not feel they have enough probable cause and that is their call, however, one of my guys said he would arrest her for at least child neglect as Haleigh and Jr were technically in her custody, but you can't say adult, because she isn't so it is a catch 22. I just heard a preview of NG's show for tonight. Apparently, Ron has filed for divorce so maybe he is getting a clue that this girl is nothing more than total trash that will even sleep around on him while they are living together, she did away with his child because there is no way that Haleigh can be alive at this stage of the game, it will 8 months and now, if her body is recovered, COD is going to be hard to determine, unless the body shows signs of knife or gunshot wounds or broken bones and I believe that she did not kill her with any of those methods, I still dig the kid hit the coffee table with her head and died, or even a drug overdose is not a stretch either.
As for TN, she was pretty vague on her answers last night and even when Mike asked her if she had doubts about Misty's stories, it seemed to me that she was still trying to be loyal to this lying skank and just said that she has questions too??? Surely, this woman has enough upstairs to figure out this b!tch has been lying from day one??? She is not going to give it up anytime soon and I am sure I know why, she would go to prison, the big question would be, how long? A talking head said the exact same thing I have been saying from day one, that by not cooperating with police and sticking by her lame stories, that when the body is found, she will be arrested then, that her lack of cooperating and lying is not going to go over well with a jury and she could end up doing hard time if not a life sentence to even a death one. But she is so dumb and ignorant and Gee, how did she get that way? that she thinks she is going to get away with murder.
She was doomed from birth with the scum family she ended up being born unto, her own sea hag of a mother is being held without bail for stealing and cashing checks, her brothers have been in trouble with the law and her daddy, has a record of DWI's and selling drugs and an assault charge and then we have her, lying and lying and now again, on a vacation!!!! Mike was very sarcastic, moreso than he normally is and I was like way to go Mike, and he asks TN if Misty went to the police after her first vacation and she tells him no and is anyone surprised?? She has not for months and neither has Ron printed up fliers or put up a website, or search Satsuma with a toothbrush for Haleigh, they have sat back and did nothing except get married and now possibly divorced and this did not set well with anyone, them getting married and here is his daughter missing??? SO while LE just spins their wheels, this skank is enjoying herself at Universal, probably living it right up on her rich friend, not a care in the world and I would not be surprised to find out that she is probably going to move there???

But, but, but they got married for his little girl. Haleigh. She wanted it. And now this? Shocked that he would do this to his little girl. Haleigh.
And now another bit of uproar for Junior. Wasn't it just last week that the three of them were enjoying a family vacation together? (Or was that ever verified?)

Eight months later, hope for Haleigh remains strong
SATSUMA - It has been almost eight months since 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings was last seen. But signs encouraging prayers for her still are posted around southern Putnam County, and residents remain hopeful that at the very least, her family will receive answers.
Employees at Byrd's Housing Center off U.S. 17 said their sign - "Our prayers are with the Haleigh Cummings family to bring Haleigh home" - went down only once about two months ago after the child had been reported missing on Feb. 10. Then a woman stopped at the business to say how much it had touched her that they had kept it posted for so long. The message went back up and has been flashing ever since, sales manager Jan Harrison said.
"It's just so close. It's personal for all of us," bookkeeper Linda Stevens said of the community's continued prayers for the girl's return. The business is located just north on the highway from the neighborhood where Haleigh was last seen.
Putnam County sheriff's spokesman Lt. Johnny Greenwood used almost the same words when explaining officers' feelings about the investigation.
"I can promise the citizens, especially of Putnam County, that we are taking every means available to us to come to resolution in this case. We want an end to this like the family does," he said. "This has become part of us now. We want to find Haleigh and bring her home to her family, and whatever it takes, we're going to do it."
Haleigh was 5 years old when she was last seen at her father's home in Satsuma. Initial reports said the girl was at the residence, a rented mobile home off Green Lane, with her younger brother and her father's girlfriend, whom he later married, Misty Croslin-Cummings. Greenwood said officers have a report that another relative last saw the girl at about 7 p.m. that night.
Croslin-Cummings told officers Haleigh went to bed at about 8 p.m. and that when she woke up, she thought about 3 a.m., to go the bathroom she noticed Haleigh was missing. The back screen door had been propped open with a cinder block. There were no signs of forced entry.
Early in the case, officers interviewed sex offenders living in the area to eliminate any as possible suspects. They have since repeatedly searched for Haleigh in the woods and water, including the St. Johns River and a pond off State Road 19.
In recent months, the focus of the investigation has shifted from a possible stranger abduction to questioning people related to or acquainted with Haleigh. Investigators have said the girl's biological parents are not suspects.
Ronald Cummings was in and out of jail during the summer on an unrelated charge of burglary with assault or battery after a fight involving his wife's relatives. Croslin-Cummings' brother and mother were arrested last month in cases the Sheriff's Office also said were not related to Haleigh's disappearance. Tommy Croslin is accused of taking a former neighbor's gun, while Lisa Croslin is accused of forging a check that belonged to the same neighbor.
Greenwood said these arrests are not because of the investigation into Haleigh's disappearance but acknowledged the Sheriff's Office has and will continue to take advantage of these opportunities to question people about the missing child.
"These individuals (who) are being arrested are being arrested for other things they are doing out there in the community, but we've always taken the stance that if we have an opportunity of speaking to anybody that might know something in this case, we're going to speak with them," Greenwood said.
After Croslin-Cummings' brother was arrested last month, investigators revealed Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. had told them Haleigh's father had asked him to check on his home the night Haleigh disappeared because he couldn't reach his then-girlfriend. The house was dark, and no one answered the door when he banged on it, the Sheriff's Office reported Tommy Croslin told them.
Investigators have said Croslin-Cummings is the key to the case and that her version of events the night the girl disappeared doesn't add up.
"She's the key person, and we'll still say that," Greenwood said. Her accounts and the physical evidence "don't match up," he said.
"We need to know what was going on that night. All we've been able to obtain at this point are sketchy statements from Misty Croslin. We do not know what she was doing that night," Greenwood said.
Croslin-Cummings' attorney, Robert Fields, said her report of what happened that night has not changed and that he doesn't know what else investigators want.
"How can they say that after questioning her for seven months without an attorney," he said, referring to investigators' comments about his client.
Attempts last week to contact Ronald Cummings, Tommy Croslin and others connected to Haleigh at their homes were not successful.
The Sheriff's Office has one primary investigator assigned to the case. Members of the agency's Major Crimes Unit, who meet daily, are briefed on the case to see if there is a need to conduct an interview or search. And a Florida Department of Law Enforcement agent, working out of the Sheriff's Office, reviews tips to check that deputies haven't missed anything.
A homicide investigator also is assigned to the investigation.
"Really, right now, we're working this as a missing person because we haven't received any relevant information to this date that she's deceased," Greenwood said. "But we do keep our homicide investigator in the loop and in this investigation in the event that we do discover she's not alive any more."
Greenwood wouldn't talk about what forensic evidence has been gathered in the investigation except to say that the evidence is with FDLE.
However, he said the case now is centered on "old-fashioned police work" such as interviews and following up on tips, which once amounted to about 100 a day and now tally about 10 to 15 on a good day.
Many tips duplicate previous information the Sheriff's Office already has or offer advice on how to conduct the investigation, Greenwood said. But when officers receive a new tip, they investigate it, such as information about L Pond in southern Putnam County.
A letter allegedly from Kristina Prevatt, an acquaintance of Croslin-Cummings who is being held in the Putnam County jail on charges including drug and narcotic equipment possession, said there had been a report that Haleigh was taken to a party where she died from a drug overdose and then was taken to the pond. Greenwood said officers knew about the pond before the letter. It was drained in late September but yielded no new information about the missing girl, the Sheriff's Office has reported.
Although they had hoped there would be answers by now, Harrison and Stevens of Byrd Housing Center said they believe investigators are doing what they can to find Haleigh.
"I think the family needs some closure, whether it be good or bad," Harrison said.
Harrison said she wasn't surprised by the case's turn from a possible stranger abduction to focusing on people close to the girl.
"I feel it was like this from the beginning," she said.

Attorney: Ron, Misty Heading For Divorce
Court Papers Not Filed, But Lawyer Expects It Soon
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The attorney for the father of missing 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings told Channel 4 that Ronald and Misty Cummings may seek a divorce.
"With all the circumstances that surrounded the obvious -- with Haleigh missing -- have but a stress and burden on their marriage," said Brandon Beardsley. "In my opinion, they need to do something different and move on with their lives."
Misty Croslin was 17 years old and watching Haleigh and a younger brother while Ronald Cummings was at work the February night that Haleigh disappeared.
An Amber Alert was issued the next day as investigators believed Haleigh was taken from the home. Extensive searches of their neighborhood and investigation of more than 4,000 tips phoned in to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office have not provided any answers to what happened to the girl.
Ronald and Misty got married in mid-March, five weeks after Haleigh disappeared and while they were still living in a tent pitched outside Cummings' mobile home.
"Ever since Feb. 10 of this year, they have been scrutinized by the media," Beardsley said. "They don't go a day without a reporter or a news crew beating on their front door. I think that has been a contributing factor, along with a lot of other things. They went through a lot more than me or you could ever imagine."
Beardsley said he expected the divorce would take place "in the near future" and would be uncontested. Channel 4's Jennifer Bauer said no papers have been filed with Putnam County family court as of midday Tuesday.
Investigators have given polygraph tests to everyone who had contact with Haleigh in the days before she disappeared and have followed leads throughout Florida and beyond, but they said they still don't know what happened to Haleigh.
Anyone who has any information about what happened to Haleigh is asked to call Crimestoppers at 888-277-8477.

Notice TN sort of hedges her answers? When she does that two things come to mind. First, she's thinking maybe she wants to keep the communications with Misty open so they can learn where Haleigh is. Secondly, her son, herself and some she is concerned about have broken laws that Misty knows about and can put them away for them.
I remember when the Ants were doing kissy huggy with liar too, as if they were terrified to get her mad. They also wanted answers and had to walk on eggshells in their ridiculous denials. To me there have been as many similarities (if not more) than differences in the Caylee and Haleigh cases. Just to make me feel better about my weird dream, I wish someone (Roy Kronk are you listening?) would go check The Zone for Haleigh's body.
Like Errin and according to Cobra and Tim Miller, I always figured that Ron&Misty stayed together to support their symbiotic relationship, but now I'm wondering who will file for divorce and why the arrangement is no longer mutually beneficial. What has changed??

Attorney Brandon Beardsley of Mowery, Shoemaker and Beardsley is representing Ronald Cummings. He told 97.3 The Sky Tuesday that a divorce between his client and his wife Misty Croslin-Cummings could be forthcoming.
Beardsley tells the Sky the two have been under a lot of public and media scrutiny which he says has been stressful and detrimental.
According to Beardsley, should a divorce take place, it would be an amicable and uncontested dissolution and a rather uneventful process.
97.3 The Sky asked about Ronald’s finances and if he was still collecting unemployment. Beardsley would only say that he is not concerned about Ronald’s finances, but only his client’s best interests...

I want to know the answer to that too, since TN said that RC collected, not collects un employment. And is Beardsley not interested in poor little Junior's best interest? (No need to answer that one!)
Oh well, at least Ron collects child support for two children; I guess no one is asking for an accounting to make sure he doesn't spend his daughter's (AKA Haleigh) share on Butterbean.

BBM
I agree--hit the table (did they have a coffee or end table?) or maybe a "spanking" got out of hand. Or, the drug overdose does seem plausible. I'm thinking maybe there is some truth in the latter, as there sure hasn't been anything about Jr talking about a spanking or yelling, or crying--he allegedly did talk about the bouncing couch and the squeaky floor, and the man in black (or black man in black, whichever version.) IMO, if there was yelling and hitting, Jr would have said something about that. Unless, of course, he might also have been given something to help him sleep. All IMO, of course.

Haleigh Cummings father filing for divorce
The attorney for Ronald Cummings, father of missing Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings, says he is filing for divorce from his wife Misty Cummings.
Putnam County Sheriff’s Office investigators say Haleigh was kidnapped early on February 10 and the last person to see Haleigh was her father's girlfriend, now wife, Misty Croslin, who placed the 911 call alerting police to Haliegh's disappearance.
FOX 30 Jacksonville reports on their website that Brandon Beardsley, the attorney for Ronald Cummings, says the emotional strain of the case has finally taken its toll on the couple and they haven’t been able to go anywhere without being recognized or questioned about Haleigh.
Beardsley says no divorce paperwork has been filed yet but he is speaking with Misty's attorney to finalize the divorce.

>>but he is speaking with Misty's attorney to finalize the divorce.
Guess the only property to divide is the butts, the weed and the pills. Oh wait, Ron only takes prescription drugs.
So who's going to support Misty?
And who's going to make sure Ron doesn't rush out and commit statutory rape? Again.
Well, shoot. I totally missed the (official) rumors of a divorce. Better check my alerts!
Hmmm......perhaps after all this time, someone got Ronald to see that being married to Misty is only going to prevent her from testifying about him for anything said and done DURING THE MARRIAGE. Anything before the actual marriage is open game. Of course, they have said that is not why they got married--true love and soul mates and all that, I'm sure was the reason.
IMO, there would only be a few reasons for the marriage. A. Prevent testifying against spouse. B. True love and soul mates and all that (didn't there used to be a puke icon?) C. Diversion tactic, to take the spotlight off the searches and investigation into the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings. D. If Misty had been pregnant and Ronald wanted to make an "honest" woman out of her (to match his making an "honest" living, lol.)
A. Nope, that only protects you from your spouse if anything happened during the time you are married. B. Puke, puke, puke, for sure. C. Yep, the media spent a heck of an amount of time on this from the moment Ron proposed. D. First, I don't think Misty is/was probably pregnant. BUT, if she HAD been, I don't see Ronald changing his spots by marry a girl just cuz he knocked her up. He didn't marry the others, why would he start w/Misty?
All IMO, of course.
[I]
snip.....
"How can they say that after questioning her for seven months without an attorney," he said, referring to investigators' comments about his client.
.....snip
http://www.gainesville.com/article/20091006/ARTICLES/910061002/1002?Title=Eight-months-later-hope-for-Haleigh-remains-strong-
Well, mister lawyer. Perhaps YOU should have contacted Misty months ago, and relieve her of the belief that, if you are innocent you don't need a lawyer. Don't know why Misty changed her mind, if she went looking for an attorney, or if Mr Fields finally went knocking on her door. Misty Croslin-Cummings was questioned by police for 7 months without a lawyer because she chose to do so. I guess, if she's old enough to make the decision to get married, she is old enough to make the decision to not have a lawyer present. I gotta believe that, in addition to the usual "you can have an attorney present if you want" which surely was said on more than one occasion, that there were plenty of people in her life (maybe even lawyers) who advised her she should have a lawyer present.
So, Mister Fields, I don't think you can start anything up about her rights this late in the game. If there is an arrest of Misty--surely you wouldn't be so dumb as to go down the road about questioning w/out a lawyer. IMO

Did Mr Beardsley just now find out about this case and perhaps has not read up on it? EXCUSE ME!!!!! HALEIGH WAS MISSING BEFORE THEY GOT MARRIED!!!! Wouldn't the pressure of the disappearance and investigation and such ALREADY have put pressure on their "relationship?" Geeeesh!!! Some statements by supposedly intelligent and/or educated individuals just boggle my mind!!!!!
Divorce for Ronald and Misty Cummings?
PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- Ronald and Misty Cummings appear to be headed for divorce.
According to Ronald Cummings' family law attorney, no paperwork has been filed, but the marriage will not last much longer.
Cummings, and 17-year-old Misty were married a few weeks after Ronald's daughter Haleigh Cummings disappeared from his home in Satsuma.
Misty was the last person to see Haleigh.
Ronald and Misty took time from the search effort in Putnam County to go to New York City for a honeymoon and an appearance on the "Today" show.

Good Grief!!!! Doncha just wish the people writing about these cases would actually go back thru and read up on things?
Okay, supposedly "the couple" searched their Green Ln mobile home. And, Ronald spent @ least part of a day w/Tim Miller. I don't recall either of them posting flyers, actually searching for Haleigh. So, how in the holy heck could they "take time from the search effort, if they weren't actually INVOLVED in the search effort?

Perhaps it is the best thing for her, as she struggles with constantly being pressured to tell the truth about what happened that, night when she insists that she is telling the truth. I have promised to let her tell her side of the story, and clear up any discrepancies that are out there, and perhaps shed a little more light on what happened the night little Haleigh disappeared. Perhaps now more than ever, no one wants closure to this nightmare more than Misty. And perhaps now because certain people involved in this case are now safe, and away from what they perceived as a dangerous situation, they will feel better about coming forward. And perhaps now, with this new development and the camps divided, the focus of the investigation, and the media attention, will shift back to finding Haleigh. Stay tuned; This is the first of a series of interviews Misty I will be conducting with Misty over the next few days.

Agree with everything here and marrying Misty may have been a way to lower the number of times he would go to the pokey this year. ;)
I decided while I was doing my chores that the divorce is exactly what the marriage was, a deflection from Ron's daughter's (Haleigh, remember her?) plight. If it's twenty minutes, twenty days or twenty years, I think more than one person will go to jail over this whole mess.
What ever will they do for an encore?

WDBO Local News
Report: Ron and Misty Cummings to divorce
Ron Cummings is filing for divorce from the last person to see his daughter alive, according to the website for the Nancy Grace TV show.
Misty Croslin told police she awoke in the middle of the night to find five-year-old Haleigh Cummings gone.
The search garnered national attention as law enforcement and volunteers combed the area near Mr. Cummings Putnam County home, but nothing substantial was ever found.
Wild accusations of been slung between the Cummings family and the family of Haleigh's biological mother, and police say Croslin has changed her story, but no arrests have been made stemming from the disappearance.
During the height of the search for Haleigh, Cummings and Croslin married. Cummings said he believed his wife's story about what happened the night his daughter went missing.
Ron Cummings will appear on the Nancy Grace show Tuesday night to talk about his decision the divorce. It airs at 8:00 PM on HLN.

And what will Haleigh think when she's home and finds out that her wish for Ron&Misty to get married couldn't survive people staring at them.

Attorney: Haleigh Cummings' father filing for divorce
CNN) -- The father of Haleigh Cummings, a Florida girl who disappeared in February, plans to file for divorce from the girl's stepmother, a key witness in the case, his attorneys told HLN's "Nancy Grace."
The move follows weeks of reported tension between Ronald and Misty Cummings during the search for Haleigh, who was 5 when last seen.
In papers expected to be filed Tuesday, Ronald Cummings, 25, cites irreconcilable differences in ending his short marriage to his 17-year-old wife, said Terry Shoemaker, Ronald Cummings' attorney.
Haleigh went missing from her father's home in Satsuma, Florida, on February 9. Cummings has made several public pleas for information in her disappearance.
Investigators have said they do not feel Misty Cummings has told them everything she knows.
"The police have been telling me that I've been keeping Misty under my wing and that's why she hasn't talked to the cops," Ronald Cummings told a "Nancy Grace" producer Tuesday. "So now, here you go, I divorced her. So now go find my baby."
The Putnam County Sheriff's office said in August that "the evidence and investigatory effort has minimized the likelihood that Haleigh's disappearance is the work of a stranger." Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh's mother, are not considered suspects, police said.
"Investigators believe that Misty Croslin-Cummings continues to hold important answers in the case," the sheriff's office said in a written statement. "She has failed to provide any sort of detailed accounting of the hours during the late evening and early morning of Haleigh's disappearance. Furthermore, physical evidence at the scene contradicts Misty's sketchy account of her evening activities." Shoemaker said his client told Misty Cummings he wanted a divorce on Sunday, and that the a divorce agreement was drawn up Monday. The agreement was sent to Misty Cummings' lawyer for her signature.
"He really didn't come to us and say, 'I want to file for divorce,'" said another of Ronald Cummings' attorneys, Brandon Beardsley. "My understanding is that this is something that he and Misty have been discussing for the last few days and they're contemplating it because they ultimately feel that it is in the best interest for both of them."
Misty Cummings' attorney, Robert Fields, told CNN he has not talked with his client and doesn't know her thoughts regarding the divorce. Fields said he had received the papers via e-mail but had not had a chance to review them. Asked what he thought the divorce would mean for the search for Haleigh, he said, "Probably nothing."
"You have to understand that ever since Haleigh went missing, they have been scrutinized," Beardsley said of the Cummingses. "They can't go out to dinner, can't even go to the convenience store to get a drink. ... The pressure of everything that is going on, the allegations and speculation, has been a stress on the relationship.
The two lived together for about six months before marrying in March. The divorce agreement provides no financial terms, according to Shoemaker.
On Monday, Misty Cummings left Satsuma to stay with a friend in Orlando, 50 miles south, Shoemaker said.

No duh!!!! When ya ain't got nothin' there's nothin' for there to be terms ON. :D
It's not like they need to worry about child support (that we are aware of.) They haven't been married long enough to deal w/alimony. And, if Ron isn't working--I don't think they could assess alimony, anyway. Maybe, it being amicable and all, that Ron will con't to purchase her cigarettes until she is of age (but she might have to provide the money) and whatever else he provides her w/@ this point.
Ohhh, I wonder, shouldn't there be something about if either of them make it into books and movies and stuff?

...Beardsley said the two still are in love. "They're still talking. They're amiable. They still love each other."
But he said "the totality of circumstances" was behind the divorce discussions. "I could not imagine the stress that they've lived with would put on a marriage." Media attention, he said, is a "big part of it."
Croslin-Cummings left the area recently for Central Florida, but her attorney this week said she was back in Putnam County and looking for a job.

Do you think we need another court show? What if I told you that this new court show was going to be hosted by Nancy Grace.
Yup, Grace is planning to star in her own daily syndicated court show next year. And it has actually gone past just a “talks” stage because Grace has reportedly filmed a presentation to show CBS Television Distribution. The name of the show (right now anyway, this could change) is Swift Justice with Nancy Grace. I guess The Biggest Loser was already taken...

...But beyond Grace hosting the show, with her snarl and her smirk and her exploitative ways, we don't need another court show anyway. We already have Judge Judy, Judge Alex, Divorce Court, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Judge Joe Brown. And those are just the ones I can remember. I might be missing one (Judge Dredd? Mike Judge?). The FOX station in Boston actually airs Judge Alex three times in one afternoon, every single day. That's two and a half times too many.

What a mess. I beginning to believe everyone involved in this crime hangs on the Net and reads about the case. Then they adjust their behavior accordingly.
And I think this divorce is a ploy to let the case die down and eventually be forgotten. If not, then why not just separate? Why divorce? Especially when they admit there's a chance they might get back together...if.
The divorce makes about as much sense as the marriage.

Oh, I think it's absolutely possible that the divorce serves the same purpose that the wedding did, to deflect attention away from no telling what. There's no telling what went on where and when to cause whoever (the brainiac behind the curtain) to think of a divorce as this week's stunt.

MISTY CUMMINGS EXCLUSIVE: ”I feel like this has all been a game, and I have been played.”
After another day of being talked about in the media, Misty Cummings speaks out exclusively to me and reacts to rumors about the divorce, her involvement in the disappearance of Haleigh and what “lies” ahead.
I asked her why she and Ronald are getting divorced.
“I don’t know why, I don’t want a divorce, I love Ron and his children.”
What did Ronald tell you was the reason he wanted a divorce?
“Ronald told me he wants a divorce because of my family, what law enforcement is saying, and everyone else who is telling lies about me. Again I really don’t know why, but I’m going to give him the divorce, and I’m not going to fight him in any way. I want the focus back on Haleigh and not on the divorce.”
When I asked about visiting law enforcement she detailed what that visit entailed.
“I was there to tell them where I was staying, and tell them how to reach me. I was there for about an hour yesterday before I left for Orlando. I just listened as they talked and never asked me any questions.”
What did they say to you?
“I can’t talk about that right now.”
What is your reaction to the beating you are taking on shows like Nancy Grace?
She responded, “Stop turning this into a soap opera and focus on finding Haleigh.”
What’s next for you — what are your plans now??
“I want to get a job and go back to school, put some normalcy back in my life. I will continue to help LE in any way I can.”
Tonight, on a cable news show, you were accused of changing your story — how do you respond?
“My story has not changed, just cause I don’t always use the exact same words to tell the story, that’s all.”
Misty is definitely feeling the pressure of this intense media attention. She sounded weary and fragile. I have a feeling this will all come to an end soon. Will bring you more tommorow. Don’t shoot the messanger.
STAY TUNED…

Is the board whack this morning? When I click a link using Mozilla Firefox it takes me to the In Session log in page. Don't send me there. I'll be good. I swear!!!!
Oooo, is that the blue chair place?
I don't use Mozilla FF but I should. The only way I get here is by clicking the link when I get a CL email. Hmmm. I'm probably doing it the long way. I keep thinking there is a better way.

Haleigh's stepmother, Misty Cummings, stopped in road-rage complaint on Interstate 4
Misty Croslin Cummings, stepmother of missing Satsuma girl Haleigh Cummings, was in a car stopped on Interstate 4 today after a motorist complained that she was threatened with a gun.
Courtney Ballinger, 25, of Massachusetts, placed a 911 call about 11:15 a.m. to say she was being threatened by two women in a blue Dodge Caliber, a Seminole County sheriff's report states. The encounter ended at Lake Mary Boulevard, where the eastbound Dodge pulled off the highway.
Ballinger told a dispatcher that she thought the driver had waved a gun at her and that both women made an obscene gesture toward her. The driver also threatened to beat her up, according to the 911 call.
"They're waving something around and I don't know what it is, but I don't want to find out," Ballinger told a dispatcher.
A deputy arrived and handcuffed Donna Brock, 43, of Georgia, the driver of the Dodge, the report indicates. A Lake Mary police officer handcuffed Cummings, 17, the passenger, according to the report.
A search of the car did not turn up a gun, and the two were released.
Records don't indicate what caused the problem. Ballinger, who a deputy wrote appeared scared and shaken, said the confrontation began at Maitland Boulevard when the women drove next to and made hand gestures and yelled.
"These people are like seriously scaring me big time, and I don't get scared easily," Ballinger told the dispatcher.
Cummings' husband of nearly seven months, Ronald Cummings, this week announced that he plans to divorce his wife. She was the last person to see Haleigh before she went missing from her home in February.
The 5-year-old has not been found.

Considering whatever happened to poor Haleigh happened before the marriage, I don't see how Misty can be called a stepmother.
:(
Oh, I think it's absolutely possible that the divorce serves the same purpose that the wedding did, to deflect attention away from no telling what. There's no telling what went on where and when to cause whoever (the brainiac behind the curtain) to think of a divorce as this week's stunt.
That's my take on it, too. Somewhere amongst all the moving out of town, arresting Croslin family members for various and sundry things, and taking a little vayca to Disneyworld (wonder if the second is because she didn't make it to Epcot--naugh, that would go way over her head. Probably wanting more rides on the tea cup.) there is something going on in Putunia Co that the Croslin/Cummings don't want people to get wind of. Keep the media focused on all this other stuff. Or, heck, maybe even LE is encouraging such so the media isn't watching over their shoulders as they get something going on Haleigh.
Misty = You've got to hand it to her, for an ignorant unsophisticated 17-year old, she's hung in there with her lies and BS and hasn't given in or broken down. I wonder if the divorce will make her crack, the only support she's going to have is...um....um...
BBM
Yep, she seems to have burned the bridges to her family. And, IMO, Ron's family will certainly be backing him. It's not like she could turn to Crystal's family. There is always NaeNae and friends. Oh, guess they couldn't let her bunk w/them--they're in jail. Or, guess they could :D.
OTOH, family dynamics in that area seem to be different than most places. Perhaps her family will welcome into the fold w/open arms, now that she is no longer "related" to that Ron Cummings!!!! Who knows.

Aren't there still a couple of states where the age of consent is below 13?
Or step-mother wanna be? Except it looks like the problem is she may not have wanted to be a stepmother and took matters into her own hands. :(

Is it just me or does every time honey pie says that she just wants to focus on Haleigh she is front page news again and again????? And I wonder about that Donna, it is more than BFF's??? Here she is spending all this money on that skank and all of a sudden when she goes to Orlando for a "vacation" that it comes out that she is headed for divorce court and then she goes back to Orlando with this woman, who mind you is even older than Ron, maybe Misty likes it both ways??? I almost died laughing when I read that NOW she wants to get a job and go back to school, the best job she could get, would be stocking groceries at the local Piggly Wiggly and as far as school goes? I seriously doubt she could even pass a GED as I am betting she was a straight F student as in her clan, education is not a priority, drugs and alcohol consumption and how to rip off people is the lessons she learned at home not her ABC's. Now if it is true that these losers are going to get a divorce, then Ron needs to focus on his children and all along, it has not been about Haleigh, it has been all about Misty, she came before his kids in his life and that is not right, all she is, is a piece of young tail and comes from one of the more loser families in Deliverance and Jr needs his Daddy and I am betting he has not even spent time with him or explained to him what is going on, hell, he has not even looked for Haleigh in 10 freaking months!!!
So now it is time he man up and I had to give some credit to NG, for once, the other night there was no love fest between she and him, and she was badgering him to reveal the reasons he wants a divorce and does it have to do with him thinking Misty killed his child?? And he gives his usual lame ass performance and she got all pissy and told him she WILL FIND OUT the truth!!! He is not about to make himself look even more dumb than he already is and we all know why he wants a divorce, he KNOWS that skank has done something with his child and come on, this sweet girl is dead and died that night and damm it, why can't anyone find her body?? I want that lying b!tch behind bars like yesterday and while it is PASCO's call for probable cause, I think child neglect at the very least, get her in custody and away from Ron and stay right on her ass even if it takes days and lay it right on her, I would to have the chance to do so, but since this skank knows what happens to child killers, she is not going to confess on her own.
This loser flunked three polygraphs and a voice stress test, and yet, PASCO just sits on their asses and do nothing?? If they are waiting for her to just confess, they are not good lawmen??? 3 strikes in VT and you are behind bars!!!! Her crap stories which now nobody believes and I am betting that Ron's family is starting to come around and realize that their grandbaby is probably dead and died by Misty's hand. Soon, she will have no one to stand behind her and she will be on her own and maybe that is when she will make a mistake. Now if that crap Nay story was true, then every loser addict in that scum town would have ratted on her months ago for the reward money and not because they care about Haleigh, scum like this would sell out their own mother for a toot!! None of these losers would be loyal to her if it meant they get out of jail free, or charges they have could disappear if they rolled on her so I am thinking not one soul knows where Haleigh is except for that lying POS loser skank!!!

Hear ya!
The rate of divorce between couples who have had to face an enormous tragedy is about 80%. Now take these two damn idiots and give them a tradgedy. I knew they were not going to support each other emotionally or any other way. They didn't get married, they got nothing.
Marriage is a commitment, which is a word they don't know, and their coping skills are at the end of a marijuana joint. I skeeve them both and especially Ron, who thinks he can drag kids up without consideration for their safety, take them away from their mother for a check, disregard their entire lives, let a little irresponsible bubble-head girl babysit a little girl who literally loses her, and demand that LE go find her and fix it. He and Misty belong in a cell. Why does God give beautiful children to self absorbed idiots? Why, why, why...

REPORTER'S NOTES: Will The Nonsense Ever End With Ron and Misty?
The father and stepmother of a missing 6-year-old Satsuma, FL girl are heading for “splitsville” citing that there are too many TV cameras on them all the time and that the public scrutiny has put too much pressure on their relationship.
Ronald and Misty Cummings announced this week they are filing for divorce. The couple married five weeks after Ronald’s young daughter Haleigh was taken from their home February 9, 2009.
Oh, yes, the might be parting ways but that isn’t slowing down either of their television appearance schedules.
Misty Cummings is en route to Orlando Int’l Airport for a 2pm flight Thursday to NYC to appear or tape a national TV Show Friday while Ronald Cummings is reportedly taping for another national program today.
Wednesday’s “Thelma and Louise” episode with Misty Cummings and Donna Brock regarding a “road rage incident” in Orlando garnered a lot of headlines this morning in Florida.
Now, there is reason to suspect the incident might have been a setup?
Did Misty and/or her driver know the girl who called 911, and/or, the girl who reported the incident knew who they were? The alleged victim says, “No.”
There is some question whether this was an act of road rage or a set up. And for either case, why? Or if it matters, but it might have something to do with the freelance reporter Steph Watts, who's been covering the Haleigh case in his WordPress Blog: http://stephww.wordpress.com
It's been reported by OrlandoSentinel.com, among others, that the woman who called 911 is Courtney Ballinger, 25, of Massachusetts and the driver of the car with Misty in it, accused of wielding the gun at Courtney, was Donna Brock, 43, of Georgia:
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/breakingnews/orl-bk-misty-cummings-road-rage-100709,0,7261900.story
Many people have already linked Donna Brock to Texas EquuSearch, as evidenced by her MySpace page:
http://www.myspace.com/donnambrock. This same Donna Brock, according to the photos, also appears on FaceBook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Donna-Brock/100000371900410 with her only friend link being to Steph Watts, the freelance reporter.
A connection between Donna Brock and Courtney Ballinger may be made via Steph Watts FB friends http://www.facebook.com/people/Steph-Watts/762617564 since another one of his friends, named Sarah Dayiantis http://www.facebook..com/profile.php?id=48609888 has, has a profile picture that shows another girl at her side who looks a lot like this woman named...Courtney Ballinger. http://www.facebook.com/people/Courtney-Ballinger/100000162881873.
This is probably a reach, but anything is possible in this crazy case that has everything in it except the search for a very real missing little girl.

So we've read a couple/few blogs and essays about whether or not Misty&Donna&Coutney&StephWatts might all be interconnected and this whole thing might be a set up, but what really was supposed to be the purpose of this set up? Misty's supposed to maybe just maybe get IDed during the course of a motor vehicle stop and is going to spill her guts about what happened to Haleigh? No matter how wildly coincidental it all is that these peeps would end up on each others' facebooks, I'm too dumb to figure out how this setup was supposed to have worked.
Yeah, Misty's all gangsta now. Kinda cracked me up that Miss Nancy mentioned at least a couple of times that the way that Misty behaved in public with an adult woman would be very meaningful to the court when compared to how she may have acted toward a five year old in private. I guess mzzzz nancy thinks that her "honest working hubby" will look better? I mean, one or two more arrests and he will have one for each year of her life. There is no "good" here. We are dealing with "bad" on each side of the equation. This isn't about good or bad anymore. It is now about guilty or not guilty. Which one of these "people" was physically responsible for Haleigh's disappearance? That is the only question that needs to be answered. There are no good parents in this story.:flamemad:

This case sounds more and more like Casey Anthony every day. "Trying to protect somebody." I'd tell you what the Italians would say to that but I'll definitely get banned. :cuss: The other thing that was Casey-like was the cops and the car incident. SOB! Amazing!
i know... & it might even just be as simple as misty using drugs to put them to sleep, or to kill on purpose ,getting the idea from casey.

I'm trying to back away from this case but have something I wanted to share.
Of all the forums/boards out there this one is the best. It's the only one that stays focused with open minded members. Everyone else is too busy fighting among themselves to be of any good to anyone.
I had lunch with a Psychiatrist friend today. He's a much older gentleman, retired and has loads of wisdom.
Before I go on, let me say that I am not choosing sides here, because as far as I am concerned there are at least 5 people blatantly guilty of whatever happened to Haleigh.
My friend said he really believes Misty can't remember some of the things that happened that night.
There are many meds that cause memory loss. And these are drugs I have seen mentioned with regards to both families involved. So they would have easy access to them.
He also said that any memory loss would cause her to flunk a polygraph. It's apparently a known fact.
So what if Ron the Con knew certain meds she had taken in the past caused her to forget and provided them for her throughout that day. What if he did something to Haleigh (probably by accident) and thought by getting her to take the drugs it might cause enough brain fog to keep her from telling on him?
And what if he "kept her close" to prevent her from remembering too much, then realized after awhile she isn't ever going to remember. so he ditched her.
This is just a theory, and again I am not defending any of them on either side.

Yah know, I can see her being too drugged out of her mind to recall that night.
I can also she her brain being fried by who knows how many years of drug abuse.
But none of that makes her not involved, even if she had nothing to do with Haleigh's disappearance and likely death

I agree completely, and it makes me mad because Haleigh didn't even have a chance if her own dad was dumb enough to leave her with someone like that. And what makes it worse (if that's possible) is Ron, his own mother, and grandmother act as if Misty was Mary freakin' Poppins or something.
Her brain was probably already semi-fried from the 3 day party weekend she had just come off of.

I think the retired psychiatrist is wise too. Add to all his thoughts the fact that Misty's brain isn't completely developed yet (according to the THs), and there could be delays in that process due to her drug use and possibly her genetics and gestation period. I'd like to think that some of what Misty has forgotten may be recoverable, but I also thinks she remembers more than she's admitting to.
Gosh, I blame lots of folks for Haleigh going missing; the judge who predicated (at least in part) the fact that Ron would be living with TN and that she and GGMS would be taking care of the children, Misty for being so irresponsible as to go on a drug binge ever instead of always being alert and energized (which is exactly what motherhood entails), and Ron. Ron left both these children with Misty instead of with a qualified caregiver.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4xnho4w-jk
Just not sure what to think about her laid back attitude toward the divorce, and if there's a chance Ron&Misty will get back together again, why divorce? Why not just separate?
I know Crystal gets bashed a lot on other boards and to some degree you have to wonder why she didn't get her act together and try to regain custody, and for sure there is no excuse the falling behind in child support, especially to the extent that she did. Heck, I've seen people bash her for getting pregnant with Chloe, but I've seen college educated women who became pregnant while on the pill for pity's sake, so I'm not going to try and surmise whether her latest pregnancy was an accident or not.
I do find it strange that Ron recently said (on NG?) that Haleigh's inhaler was left behind and I find it strange that any of Crystal's family would take her without it; of course they could easily have a backup. But during that San Mateo "search" that has been written about 0that was so fweird if Cobra is to be taken at his word), supposedly an inhaler or nebulizer was found. It seems like a huge coinky dink to me that the Sheffields would happen to choose the very night that Misty was coming off a bender to take Haleigh. And downright odd that they wouldn't take Junior.

AUDIO: Tim Miller with TES on Misty's Whereabouts the Night Haleigh Vanished
TJ Hart/Rozie Franco/FNN
New audio is now available with Texas EquuSearch Director TIm Miller and 97.3 The Sky's news partner The Florida News Network regarding the search for missing 6-year-old Haleigh Cummings of Satsuma, FL.
In this audio clip, FNN's Rozie Franco talks to Tim Miller about a possible lead on Misty's whereabouts February 9, 2009 --the night Haleigh was taken from her home.

...EquuSearch founder Tim Miller sent Donna to convince Misty to open up about what really happened to Haleigh, but Miller didn't expect the pair to run into authorities.
"It just shows the mentality again of Misty Cummings. No matter where Misty Cummings goes, she takes destruction with her. That is who Misty Cummings is," he said. "Wouldn't this just be a total embarrassment? Here, your stepdaughter is missing, here this rumor is out there, you are on drugs, you're having threesomes, and now you're being thrown on the ground by the cops."...

Well, if Donna Brock is associated with Tim Miller, why is she involved in 30 minute road rage driving incident. Maybe to make Misty think she's just like her? You know, a burned out druggie, baby killer, lying little half-wit, ciggie smoking 'bad' girl...so they could share all their secrets...
Also, earlier I had mentioned that Mama T had said Donna's husband was 'independently wealthy'... so I got to thinking that to Teresa, anyone who can make bond is probably considered independently wealthy.
That's my 2 cents for today.

This loser twit has some balls to go on national TV and have the nerve to say that NOW she thinks Crystal's side of the family took Haleigh? Well if that was the case, wouldn't they have taken Jr too? No this is another one of her lies and I can't believe this b!tch went all the way to NYC, unless she is getting paid to do it!! And then Ron went on the Maury show? Somebody book them quick on the Jerry Springer Show!!! His whole show is made up of trashy people who just want to kick someone's ass, and believe you me, I would want to drive Misty's teeth down her lying throat!!!! This loser piece of trash makes me sick to my stomach, here she is the other day, wanting the focus off her and on Haleigh and just like Cindy, she is now digging the camera and I wonder if she has enough balls to stand up to Nancy as the reporter from CBS was probably coached as to what to ask and not ask!! Whereas Nancy would say whatever she wants to and too freaking bad if you don't like it, but me thinks she is afraid of Nancy because she knows Nancy hates her guts and has called her a liar on her show. SO I wonder how much she got paid to go CBS, couple thousand bucks? Enough for her ciggie and Oxy habit?? Where does she plan to live seeing as her mama is locked up?? She is no more gonna get a job or go back to school, if she does not get locked up for killing Haleigh, she will find some other loser sucker to hook up with, this type will never work, they will just live off men and calve out kids till their uterus's fall out and this b!tch does not need to get preggers ever!!! She can't even take care of herself, but some toothless drunk will think she is a hottie and offer up his shack to her and it will be paradise all over again for this useless, inbred waste of space!!!

IF Misty asked for and/or agreed to that particular polygraph, I don't have a problem with it. And if Ron was there, I don't think it's possible that TM was twisting Misty's arm to force her to do something that she didn't want to do. She says now that she only wanted the hypnosis, but from what I understand, she wasn't cooperative or open to it when the time came.
She talks out both sides of her mouth, denying that she failed the polygraph and then giving a reason for failing the polygraph. Twit.
This girl isn't even an adult, but she travels on her own (apparently first class) to appear on The Early Show (and against her attorney's advice). She needs to be in state custody until she is either eighteen years old or emancipated.

(Tim Miller on phone with Rozie Franco):
Tim Miller: There are two things Misty is afraid of:
The polygraph clearly shows Misty knows where HaLeigh is and what happened to her. One of the questions was: Have you intentionally withheld any information about HaLeigh's disappearance? Misty said "no" and it was 99% deception. Another question was: Do you know where HaLeigh is? Misty answered "no" and 95% deception. She totally, totally blew that polygraph.
During the original search for HaLeigh, Lisa and Tim stopped in a little bar on a Sunday night. Girl in a bar wanted to talk to Tim Miller and told him that Misty wasn't home that night. Misty was at a party and was snorting oxycotin, smoking pot, and Misty and another girl had a threesome that night.
Girl in bar had gone over there to buy drugs and saw Misty there. Girl on probation and did not want to tell but showed Tim where the house was. Tim brought this up to Misty and Ronald six weeks ago in Orlando, they know the spot; it's their friends and this girl was telling the truth. Tim got LE involved and they questioned this girl but also said they aren't sure if it was the same night because people doing these drugs get things confused what day is what.
Tim told TN about it and the threesome. This is the kind of life they are living and having this 5-year-old child in, dragging this 5-year-old child around or leaving alone. All the thugs and drug addicts they hang out with. With what poor little Junior has to live with too. Disgrace to American society that two people can do this to two small children that will never have a chance in this world. All the money, all the resources, everything that has been spent on them and for the most part; two of the most irresponsible, immature people I've ever ever met.

Misty Croslin Cummings' statement 'absolutely ludicrous', attorney says
Misty Croslin Cummings said this morning on CBS' "The Early Show" that someone 'on the other side of the family' has Haleigh Cummings
An attorney for the father of missing Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings said any suggestion his family had anything to do with the disappearance is "absolutely ludicrous."
Haleigh's stepmother, Misty Croslin Cummings, made the suggestion during her interview today on national television.
"Someone came in and got her, obviously," Misty Croslin Cummings, 17, told CBS' "The Early Show." "I feel like it's on the other side of the family that has her. That's just how I feel."
Later, Ronald Cummings' attorney Brandon Beardsley called Misty Cummings' statement "absolutely ludicrous."
"That was stated merely for the purpose of deflecting attention away from her," Beardsley told the Orlando Sentinel.
Misty Cummings didn't provide any details and she wasn't pressed for more information.
She was the last person to see Haleigh before she vanished overnight from her father's Satsuma trailer in February.
She was baby-sitting for her then-boyfriend Ronald Cummings, 25. The girl was 5 at the time.
Misty Cummings married Ronald Cummings about a month after the disappearance. This week, he announced on the Nancy Grace show that he is seeking a divorce.
Misty Cummings has faced close scrutiny. Investigators interviewed her repeatedly, and the teen reportedly failed a polygraph test.
The stepmother was grim and subdued during today's interview. She wore a T-shirt bearing Haleigh's picture, which read "Have You Seen Me?"
A representative from "The Early Show" said it covered Misty Cummings' travel and lodging expenses, which is standard.
Misty Cummings said those who suspect her in the disappearance should focus elsewhere. Her husband has told her he doesn't think she's guilty, she said, and investigators have probed her actions extensively.
"I don't think they looked at everyone as close as they looked at me," she said.
Authorities said the child was abducted. No one has been named as suspect and no arrests have been made.
Misty Cummings made news in Metro Orlando this week after she and another woman were accused of a road-range incident on Interstate 4. The women were detained and later released without being charged.
It happened Wednesday, the same day her husband announced plans for a divorce.
In Friday's interview, Misty Cummings said there's little chance her marriage will survive.
"If something happens down the road, then we might end up back together," Misty Cummings said.
Beardsley expects the divorce papers to be signed next week. The couple have no shared assets or children, so the process should end quickly, he said.
Misty Cummings said she hopes for Haleigh's return.
"I want things to be back to normal. I want Haleigh home, definitely," she added. "I feel in my heart she is still alive."

And yet, these are the types that always seem to be fertile, they can calve them till they drop their ovaries all over the floor and the men folk will try to knock up as many as he can and not pay a dime of support. A TH on NG said it right. She shows outward signs of deception, licking her lips, her hands clenched and shakes her head a lot and NG hit it on the head too, just like Casey tried to sign the "I know Caylee is near, I can feel it" And Caylee is found dead, wrapped in three bags in the woods, the place her mama used to play as a kid! Misty says almost the same thing, that she feels she is still alive? Horses!it!!! The only reason she went on TV today is she is running out of money and to do damage control in the media. Neither one of these inbred pieces of trash have thought about Haleigh since day one, it has been all about them and especially this little piece of tail. And once again, this was against the advice of her attorney and she showed nothing to me other than her usual lame ass blather and I noticed she was all pimped out, who's idea was that? Like NG says when trailer trash cleans up their act, "like putting perfume on a pig" Her eyebrows all plucked, make-up, clean decent clothes, who all paid for that, the new BFF who may or may not know Tim Miller? What could he stand to gain by trying to get someone to befriend this twit so as to get her to confess as to what she did with Haleigh and wasn't Teresa again tonight still being vague on her answers???
Sounds to me she still is believing in this useless loser and now is the time for Ron to man up and focus on his kids instead of it being all about that inbred trash like he has all these months, it has not been about Haleigh, it has been about them and their sorry ass lives that has been reported on by the media and for to say Crystal is involved tells me she is running out of time and story lines so she figures the media will run with this and take the focus off her and onto Crystal. Now while she will never make Mommy of the year, she has not let her life be played out in the media, she has remained focused to find her child, and has not gone on national TV to make money for herself. She avoids the media and that makes her the better person and she is innocent in all of this. Her only mistake is to be born lower class and hooking up at a young age with a pedophile and having kids, and I still can't see why CPS is allowing Ron to retain custody after all of this hoopla. I feel for Jr as much as I do Crystal, he is an innocent in all of this too, the little baby does not understand why his sissy is not coming home and surely, if Crystal wanted to "steal" her children, she would have taken Jr as well???? No, Misty made herself look even more ignorant and dumb than before the CBS show, it was all about her image and not one word about HALEIGH!!!!!

More from Crimeseekers:
Phone conversation (audio/transcribed) between Tim Miller and The Florida Radio Network, Rozie Franco:
Tim Miller speaking:
...To go ahead and get Misty's nails done, to get her hair done, to take her to uh, Daytona, to take her to Universal Studios and stuff to try to get closer and closer and closer to her to get information so we could find HaLeigh. I was still spending money as of two days ago; wire transferred $300 more dollars to Donna. And we was doing everything that we could do so Donna could be a mother. So Donna was taking her to church, had a private meeting with the pastor. We felt as though the closer we could get her to the pastor and stuff, maybe she would go in there and confess to the pastor, uh, whatever the hell it was going to take for us to find Haleigh.
Rozie Franco: Right. Now Donna, is she one of your closest volunteers? Where is she....
Tim Miller: She is one that yeah, did a good job but she is one that would fit in as a mother that Misty never had. That somebody Misty could trust. You know, I mean nobody ever took Misty to the mall or nobody ever took Misty to get her nails done, nobody ever did any of that. So it's one of them things that you know, let's go ahead and play this Donna. You're gonna be the mother, I'll spend the damn money, work on this girl and everything and let's see if you can just go ahead and get her to break and say where in the hell little HaLeigh's at.
And when they put something together to that point that they know a jury's going to find her guilty and whether they'd have to take her in there first like they did Casey and take her in on child endangerment and false police reports, uh, and hold her under high bond or what. And you know what, here's what I truly believe from my heart, .... After spending as much time as I spent with those damn hillbillies is that number 1, she is scared to death to go to jail. She is scared to death to go to jail and I think the other reason she is not giving anything up is because of all these damn drug addicts thugs that she hangs out with, if she goes ahead and gives up what really happened, she fears for her life because uh, these these thugs'll kill her. Haleigh Cummings: Misty tells CBS, My brother would betray me
CBS News says Misty Cummings provides new details about the night that Haleigh Cummings vanished in part two of an "Early Show" interview. Misty Cummings was baby-sitting for the child when she disappeared from her father's Satsuma home in February.
Maggie Rodriguez conducted the interview, which concludes Monday. The first part aired this morning.
Also on Monday, Rodriguez will have a live interview with Ronald Cummings, Misty's husband, about her comments. "The Early Show" starts at 7 a.m. on WKMG-Channel 6. CS offered this excerpt from Monday's interview with Misty Cummings:
Rodriguez: "Your brother told police that when he went to the trailer that night, that you were supposedly putting Haleigh to bed -- that you weren't there. Did you go somewhere that night?"
Cummings: "No, I did not. Did not leave my house at all."
Rodriguez: "Why did he tell police you weren't there?"
Cummings: "Trying to get out of jail, that's what I think."
Rodriguez: "So your brother was in jail"
Cummings: "Yeah, he was in jail."
Rodriguez: "Your own brother would betray you like that?"
Cummings: "That's how my family is."

Hope none of the money that I've donated to TES went for this cock and bull outing especially in light of the way it turned out. The whole idea just seems half-baked to me.
This is unbelievable! I've donated to Equusearch too. I thought the funds went for equipment/maintenance and actual searches? I know Miller means well but someone needs to rein him in and show him exactly what he should be doing.
Spending money to designate a mother figure for a teen isn't in his mission statement. And Tim Miller is Equusearch
I can see where an irrational mind might think a little "mall time with mom" might get Misty to talk, but that had nothing to do with physically searching for a victim, which is what the money is supposed to be for.
And who decided who the "mom' figure should be? Did the woman have a background check? Does she have any credentials as far mentoring to teens?
TM is playing with fire and setting himself up for all sort of lawsuits. What if Misty wasn't married and was still considered a minor. and he put her in the care of some nut job that contributed to her delinquency?
What is sad is that TM does good work, and could easily endanger that by going off in left field. I know how TM got his start and why, and with all due respect, he is not the only person that's lost a loved one to violent crime. If a person is planning on helping find the missing, they should concentrate on doing just that. And I know from personal experience there are guidelines (both moral and professional) that one must adhere to in doing so. Or you can actually end up doing more harm than good, because I've seen it happen.
Anybody else here wondering if Ron is leaving Misty for someone younger?
:punch:
Well, how 'bout "side-stepmother"?
The tho't had crossed my mind. Heck, Misty is getting long in the tooth, being 17 and all.
How are we supposed to believe that Ron is committed to his children if he pusses out on his marriage because the media questions him and Misty? It's okay for him to get all dressed up and present himself to be interviewed by NG and The Today Show, and God help us all if he talks to Maury Povich, but all other media stay away?
And neighbors don't be asking any questions and don't be staring. Mr. I can't do what I want without cameras around.
http://i37.tinypic.com/1418shh.jpg
Maury Povich seems to be the type of program they would be glued to the set watching. Right up their alley. But, wonder who else will be brought in for the show? There isn't just one person in an interview w/Maury, ya know. There has to be CONFLICT. Someone else to come in so there can be some fisticuffs going on. So, who is gonna be there to argue w/and possibly get into a rip-roaring physical altercation w/Ron? We probably won't even have to wait for the show to air--it will be all over Utube within minutes of taping, I'm sure.
I'm going to take a guess and suggest that Donna Brock is befriending Misty in order to get information out of her for a possible book deal and appearance on Oprah in the future.
Or perhaps she just wants her 15 minutes, and she has the money to get it, being w/Misty. Wonder why she chose to befriend Misty? Why not hunk-o Ron? Oh, her rich husband might be jealous, lol!!! :D

Apparently ;) Somehow i dont think it's quite working for her

And if the divorce is final before her 18th birthday will she become a minor again?
Were we not talking about people involved in a missing child, probably murdered child case, it would be funny. :(

Hopefully TM will come out and clarify that it was not TES funds used to this cockamamie scheme; it wasn't that long ago that he reported that the search for Caylee had just about broken the bank for the organization. I would also like to see an apology for this harebrained scheme that went so very wrong. His comments about Misty's destructive nature go without saying, but when he made that comment would have been the perfect time for an apology. I've seen him (wrongly IMO) maligned by others, but this he has done to himself. It will be interesting to learn if Donna Brock has a clean background. She looks rode hard and put up wet, much like Haleigh's extended family and the other players in this circus, but I guess that's part of why he chose her for the secret mission. Can you imagine the damage to his reputation and the liabilities he would be facing if anyone had been injured or worse in the "road rage" incident, Misty included?!
Not sure about Florida, but in Arkansas a marriage does not emancipate a minor. Someone (a responsible someone) needs to be overseeing Misty. Now.

OMIOGOSH I've been locked out and it was soooooooooooo skeeeeeeery!
Anyway, marriage even if dissolved does emancipate a minor in FL (which is interesting, because if Misty was to apply to be emancipated, she wouldn't meet the requirements):
743.01 Removal of disabilities of married minors.
The disability of nonage of a minor who is married or has been married or subsequently becomes married, including one whose marriage is dissolved, or who is widowed, or widowered, is removed. The minor may assume the management of his or her estate, contract and be contracted with, sue and be sued, and perform all acts that he or she could do if not a minor.

Kind of what happened to Scott Peterson--his initial lawyer advised him to not go on interviews, but he ignored the advise. End of relationship w/that lawyer.
I read again about Misti saying "the other side of the family" should be looked @. On a previous post, there was an indication that "the other side of the family" meant Cummings as opposed to Croslin. I had kind of taken it as Shefield as opposed to Cummings. But, since she didn't exactly explain which side of which family she was talking about, we each come to our own conclusions.
I liked the part about her being an "adult" now.

It has to do w/emancipation. Once you are married, you are emancipated, as in your parents no longer have control over or responsibility of you. In essence, you are considered an adult from that point on.

According to the statute I found Florida does differ from other states on that. No way would Misty meet the criteria of being about to support herself and "manage her estate" if she was making application to the court. For all we know, that's part of why they got married in the first place.

Haleigh Cummings – Step Mom’s Lawyer Files For Divorce!
Against her lawyer’s advice Misty Croslin decided to take a trip to NYC and appear on the CBS early show. What she felt she had to gain from national coverage is anyones guess, but the result is, Misty once again has no legal representation. Her appearance on the CBS Early Show came as no surprise, it is more a question of motive?...
...Of equal interest is what Ronald Cummings is doing. I suspect that after his last ‘Miss Nancy’ show he needs to find another outlet. It was pretty clear that even Miss Nancy, his biggest supporter, was getting just a little ticked off.
When talking Atom Bombs, and Atomic Energy in general there is a term ‘Critical Mass’. The search for missing Haleigh Cummings has reached that level.
For those that actually cover the story rather than slam those that do, I applaud you!

Misty on police radar despite comments on TV
After eight months of scrutiny, Misty Cummings says the police and public need to focus their attention on someone else.
"They just need to move on and look for the right person because they're focusing on me, and I'm not the one who has Haleigh," the 17-year-old told CBS's "Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez in a segment aired Friday. "I don't know where she is so they need to look for the person that does have Haleigh."
Misty Cummings was babysitting then 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings the night the kindergartner disappeared from her Satsuma home last February.
But authorities investigating the child's disappearance say Misty Cummings' statements have been inconsistent and they will continue to press for answers.
"She does have information that we need," Putnam County sheriff's spokesman Lt. Johnny Greenwood said Friday. "There are still things that she has been telling us that do not match the physical evidence."...

Ronald Cummings focuses on Haleigh despite divorce
WELAKA, Fla. -- Ronald Cummings will soon board a plane bound for the tri-state area. He isn't leaving for vacation. He's going to make sure the world knows his daughter is still missing, and he will stop at nothing until he finds her.
"Whoever has Haleigh please, bring her home. She does not belong to you. She's not just a pair of shoes or whatever, she's a human being. Please bring Haleigh home," he said.
Ronald spent more than an hour with Action News on Wednesday. The entire time he was getting ready for a flight where he would ultimately end up on the Maury Povich show. Ronald says he's not doing it to speak about his recently announced divorce. Instead, he says he's only talking about Haleigh.
Ronald's attorney told Action News the formal paperwork for his divorce filing has not been signed, but it should be soon.
Ronald married his girlfriend Misty a little more than a month after Haleigh disappeared. It is believed Misty was the last person to see Haleigh before she disappeared on February 10th.
Before Ronald left, with tears in his eyes, he shared this message with his daughter:
"Haleigh baby, if you're watching I love you, and I'll never give up on you. I'll do everything in my power to find you...and you will be found. I love you."

Well, first of all, everyone who thinks Ronald Cummings is going on the Maury Povich show to ask whomever to bring Haleigh home and not talk about his divorce---please raise your hand now. I don't know how naive he is, or how often he might have watched Maury's show, but if he thinks Maury is gonna pay him to travel there, pay the expenses, and stop @ a plea to return Haleigh, he's got another think coming. Begging for your daughter to be returned doesn't do all that much for ratings. Every little salacious tidbit about life in Satsuma would sure bring the folks who watch this kind of show out of the woodworks. IMO.
And, speaking of inconsistencies, on the NG show (probably Fri's) it seems Ron Cummings went from saying, well, when he ASKED Misti about things, she didn't seem to want to answer, to, yes, Miz Nancy, it's all those little inconsistencies that bother me enough to get a divorce. What inconsistencies, Miz Nancy? Well, uhm, well. Yeah Ron. And whatever happened to the emphatic denial of ever TALKING to Misti about what happened that night? INCONSISTENT MUCH, RON?????
Justice Denied?

If Misty is tried, it will be based on the age she was when the offense happened, unless the judge grants a motion to try her as an adult, which will probably happen if the ever get that far.

They SHOULD try her as an adult--she's been "acting" like one for how long now? Acting as an adult, moving in w/Ron and being the "housewife and mother" for that little family.
Very immature kids @ 15 and 16 (and a couple @ 14) have been tried as adults all over this nation. She, @ 17, should certainly be. IMO
Guess we all need to keep our fingers crossed, that if it ever comes to a trial w/Misti that the judge will grant trying her as an adult.

I must admit, if I ever watched Maury Povich, it was so long ago I don't remember the show. So, in my mind, I picture his show much like good ol' Jerry Springer's. Which, if that is true, the show will bring in some other people besides Ron. Gotta have some good ol' confrontation going on, and that can't happen w/just Maury and Ron on stage. IMO

MISTY CUMMINGS: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED
I’m not even going to address the accusations that have been made over the last few days. They are truly so outlandish that they don’t dignify a response. What I am going to do, is what I was planning on doing all along; tell exactly what has been going on behind the scenes for the last week in the Haleigh Cummings’ investigation. However, we all know now that the plan got foiled by a little road rage incident, that has damaged this investigation irreparably.
Back on Sept 20th, Tim Miller asked me to come to Orlando to film Misty Cummings’ hypnosis and voice analysis that SHE had requested to have done. Although I was not paid, I was permitted to report (as I did on this blog) my observations of the tapings. Tim also flew in TJ Ward, the voice analysis expert and he needed someone to pick TJ up at the airport. Because Texas EquuSearch (TES) operates with very little budget, they rely on volunteers. Tim called his TES member closest to the airport, and asked her to pick up TJ; that member was Donna Brock. Donna and TJ arrived into Satsuma at Ronald’s aunt’s house (where the hypnosis and voice analysis was being conducted). This is the first time I had ever met Donna. She was asked to wait with TJ until he was done with his test to return him to the Orlando Airport (he’s from Georgia). It was a long day for all involved, and there was a lot of waiting around. Misty took a liking to Donna, they chatted causally as we got set up for the interviews. The two even slipped out to pick up food for everyone (Ronald, Teresa, Ronald’s aunt, Jr. and a few other family members were all there).
The week before this, Tim Miller had an intimate conversation with Ronald Cummings in the bedroom he shared with Misty in his grandmother’s trailer just down the road. They talked in detail about their thoughts of Misty’s involvement in the case. Tim asked Ronald why he married Misty. Ronald responded, “I have to keep her close til I find out what happened to Haleigh.” It’s what happened next that frightened Miller. Ronald pulled a gun out of the closet — an assault rifle with 2 clips — each clip holding 32 bullets. Ronald looked at Miller and said, “When I find out where Haleigh’s at, I will blow the teeth out of the back of her head, and then I’ll do this…” He then got on his knees, put the butt of the rifle on the floor, leaned over and put the barrel in his mouth. There was no “IF” she had anything to do with it, Miller knew that Ronald was serious — that he would kill Misty, and then take his own life. It was at that point he knew they had to get Misty out of there, or she would end up dead.
After LE received copies of the polygraph, the voice analysis and hypnosis, I wrote about it on my blog. The media then picked up the story and it blew up. (I cleared with Miller and LE that it was ok to release the tapes to the media.) When the story blew up, so did tempers in Satsuma, and Miller knew he had to get Misty out of there immediately. Donna seemed liked the logical choice. Misty trusted her — she is a mother and a grandmother, and most importantly, she lived close enough and was willing to take Misty in. “We may have to save Misty’s life,” Miller told Donna. And in an instant, Donna was off to get Misty and bring her to safety in Orlando.
Miller knew in the back of his mind, Donna now had an opportunity to get close to Misty and get more information that could lead to Haleigh. So did LE. Miller also knew she wasn’t an expert, just one of his volunteers going above and beyond her call of duty, and he worried about that. LE was well aware of exactly where Misty was and what was going on at all times. This is what they wanted — Misty away from Satsuma, the trailer park, her family, Ronald’s family, and most importantly — away from Ronald.
In Mark Fuhrman’s new book “The Murder Business,” he writes in detail about the Melinda Duckett case, the young Florida mother of Trenton Duckett, who went missing in 2006. After appearing on Nancy Grace’s show, Melinda committed suicide.
“With Melinda Duckett’s suicide, investigators lost their best chance of finding Trenton,” says Fuhrman. “We have to avoid that same situation at any cost,” says Tim Miller. “If anything tragic happens to Misty now, any knowledge of what happened to Haleigh dies too.” “You can’t put a price tag on finding a child.”
Over the next month, Misty and Donna grew close. Miller wired money into Donna’s account on several occasions to cover Misty’s living expenses, right up until 4 days ago, when he wired her $300.00 dollars, all for the purpose of keeping her safe, keeping her away from Satsuma and keeping her talking.
“Donna made incredible sacrifices. She put her life on hold, stopped spending time with her own family, including her daughter and new born grandbaby,” said Miller. “This has been very stressful for her.” Miller and Donna both made periodic reports to LE on Misty’s whereabouts and activities.
As any good journalist should, I reached out to Donna to try and get comments and information on Misty. Donna and Misty were tight-lipped at first, but they read my blog nightly, and as they watched the media bashing Misty on TV every night, they grew to trust me. When the divorce news broke, Misty wanted to respond to what was being said. So she granted me an interview on the phone and I posted it on the blog.
That night, someone from CBS’ “The Early Show” read my blog and emailed me immediately to see if I could get them an interview with Misty. I freelance for CBS, so when they called, I wanted to help them out. I knew I didn’t have the resources to fly to Orlando and conduct the interview myself, just to post it on my blog. I told Misty of CBS’ interview request and she agreed to it. CBS arranged to fly her up, not first class as rumored last night on Nancy Grace, but in coach. It is Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in the media to fly a guest in and put them in a hotel to tape an interview. Donna came along because Misty is a minor, and she needed to be accompanied by an adult. I notified LE that she was coming to NY to appear on “The Early Show,” and I gave them her outgoing and return flight and hotel information so they knew where she was. LE requested that we not change her return ticket to any other state than Florida.
Then the road rage incident happened. Donna and Misty called me right after it happened because we had been in constant contact. A woman cut them off on the road and they (both) gave her the finger. A stupid decision on both their parts, bad judgment whatever you want to call it, in that second everything changed. Up until that point Donna and Misty had remained quiet, flying under the radar, so to speak, and Misty trusted Donna. Apparently, the woman who cut them off, recognized Misty and called police claiming they pointed a gun. Next thing you know, Donna and Misty are pulled over and find themselves face down on the ground with guns in their backs. The situation quickly diffused when the police realized the report was false. The media went nuts, Donna’s cover was blown, the woman turned up on Nancy Grace. What an opportunist, she should be ashamed of herself for lying to police. Donna and Misty realized they were wrong nd it was foolish. Then the armchair investigators tried to connect dots that weren’t connectable. And none of this has anything to do with finding Haleigh. Why would Nancy Grace waste an hour on this? I decided not to even right a post about it. It was irrelevant. But now Misty learned that Donna was not her friend...

...The CBS interview was important because the more people talk, the more they reveal. Every time Misty tells the same story, police can look for inconsistencies. Something different, perhaps a clue. That’s why it was so important to get Misty to tell “her side of the story.” And perhaps, from what I hear, it may her last interview (part 2 will air on CBS’ “Early Show” on Monday). After the interview aired, Misty’s attorney dropped her as a client.
Tonight as I write this, Donna has dropped Misty off in Satsuma. Donna will meet again with LE on Monday to tell her the last of what she has learned. Donna has been very tight-lipped about her conversations with Misty, at least with me. At least for now. The next few days should be interesting, now that Misty is back in the lions’ den. I will write more about my observations and conversations I had with Misty while in NY with her.
I asked Tim Miller if his organization will continue to look for Haleigh. “I’m not done with this case; I’m done with these people. But any resources I have will be available to help find Haleigh. I will continue any efforts I can to end the search for Haleigh Cummings.”
I hope this begins to clear up a few things and connect the dots for everyone that has been following this case. There is alot more coming. Please stay tuned.

He does good work when he sticks to what he does best. If he tries to be a detective he just might mess the whole thing up. BTW, I really doubt ron would kill himself. He may kill misty but he does not have the guts to kill himself. Another BTW, he is a felon, is he not? Why didn't TM tell LE he was in possesion of a firearm. Depending on the model, just having that weapon could be a felony. Some models of those are illegal. I am pretty sure the 32 round clip is no legal anymore.

As often as Ron has been arrested for this that and the other, I don't think he's ever been convicted of a felony. In the police report re: the felony charge Hankie vs Ron, it is stated that Ron is known to possess firearms. Florida statutes re:firearms:
http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=Ch0790/titl0790.htm&StatuteYear=2000&Title=%2D%3E2000%2D%3EChapter%20790
Isn't an assault rifle a short-arm? Looks like they're illegal per #790.221.
You know, LE may be doing a bang-up job on the Haleigh investigation and may have loads of evidence that will locate her and/or fry whoever is responsible for stealing her while Ron was out earning an honest living, but IMHO all of this BS could have been avoided if their heads (AND the judge's)(AND CPS's) weren't up their wazoos.

If Tim Miller wants to pick up his armchair and go out and risk his personal reputation and bear the responsibility and personal liabilities for saving Misty, that's one thing. But to send some yahoo to do the job for him, when she obviously wasn't prepared for the job is just lamebrained. And OF COURSE Misty could relate to her. She's on a hair trigger much like the druggies and abusers that Misty hangs with the other six days of the week.
OT: I noticed that Steph says in his article that Donna and Misty slipped out to pick up food for the household including Junior(the day of the poly, etc). WTF was this business going on with Junior in the house?
No one inolved in this case seems to hae a lick of sense.

If the weapon was found simply in a closet it is illegal under this section:
790.174 Safe storage of firearms required.--
Section 221 covers guns that are shorter than allowed by law such as a sawed off shotgun or rifle. An assault weapon is considered a "long gun" but comes in its own category.
I support the lawful ownership of firearms, including what some consider "assault weapons" (a name given to military style long guns which has nothing to do with the "assault" portion of weapon.) but I must say, the legal possesion not the possesion by anyone. People such as this should not have weapons of any type. The storage of a loaded or partially loaded weapon in a closet not locked away or protected from a child be means of height of storage or being locked in a cabinet is, as it should be, illegal. If CPS is reading these stories it would be more than enough to take Jr. from that home and put him in protective custody. Storage like that borders on stupid. I have weapons in my home but if a child comes to my home they are stored so that said child can not get to them. They are unloaded and placed in storage that the child can not get to. Leaving a loaded weapon where a child (up to and including a teenager) can gain access to it is not smart. That is why they make gun safes.

Thanks for looking at that for me. I thought the assault rifle was a short barreled weapon. From Steph's account of Tim's account, it sounded like the weapon was loaded with the clip. I guess it's possible that he pulled out the weapon and the clips.
How much of all this is BS? And Donna is going in to talk to LE tomorrow, to what? update them? Like they don't already know how wrong this dumbass scheme went?? This latest account makes it seem like this planwent down with their approval.

Haleigh Cummings – And Why William Cobra Staubs Is Now In Trouble
...How did this get to this stage in Putnam as the Bond company cannot make charges or arrest me… Well that is where it gets real interesting. Remember the prosecutor did not file on the first go round as I had not begun to formaly investigate Crystal and her family yet. When I did I was told by relatives of Crystal that the child Haleigh may not belong to Ronald but rather her high school sweetheart Robbie Middleton...

It IS totally amazing that Misty can act like the roadrage thing was nothing. Doesn't matter which story is true about what happened, it's out there and needs to be dealt with even if it's just to have no comment.
Not sure what in the world Mother Teresa could say about the Croslins that wouldn't go (double maybe!) for the Cummingses. Meeskait? megillah?? mishpocha???

I would hope to God that it's not back in the arms of Ron and his family. That could be suicide, I'm thinking. I'd be crapping my pants about right now, not going on some national tv. And, begging LE for protective custody, and spilling my guts with the real, real truth about Feb 9, Feb 10, 2009. Assuming, of course, that Misti has been forewarned about Ron's little arsenal and his true feelings.

Uhm.....in all those little court listings, wasn't one of them something about paternity testing? I would think on both kids. I was thinking that, since there wasn't a marriage, that Ron had to prove paternity to get custody of the kids? That is, IIRC.

I think Ron and Butterbean are holed up in Waleka at GGMS' (rumor has it she's in Las Vegas); not sure where Mother Teresa lives but don't think it's in Satsuma. And Misty has a restraining order against her brother, so I'll assume she's not staying with him and his family. And Hank and Lisa moved. I guess Lisa will be extradited soon, maybe Misty's going to move into the pokey with her. She should be safe there. (As long as she and Amber B. keep a safe distance from each other.)

Guess we're supposed to think the DNA was rigged by the prosecutor or his brother in order for him to escape responsibility. Could there be more conspiracy theories here?

Haleigh Cummings' father doubts Misty has revealed everything, attorney says
The attorney for Ronald Cummings appeared on 'The Early Show' this morning.
Ronald Cummings, whose daughter vanished from their home in Putnam County in February, still stands behind the last person to see Haleigh Cummings, his attorney said on national television this morning.
Misty Croslin Cummings, who was baby-sitting Haleigh Cummings in February, may not have revealed everything about the night the girl vanished, but Ronald Cummings does not think the 17-year-old he later married was involved, said attorney Terry Shoemaker.
"He's just doubting whether everything she said is what transpired that night. But he in no way believes that she is involved whatsoever,'' Shoemaker said during an interview on CBS' The Early Show.
Ronald Cummings, 25, wants to divorce Misty Croslin Cummings because of the stress the disappearance has placed on their marriage -- not because he thinks his wife was involved, the attorney said.
Ronald married his former girlfriend about a month after Haleigh Cummings vanished. Their divorce was announced last week.
"Ron has stuck by Misty all along." Terry Shoemaker. Ronald Cummings was scheduled to appear on the show but couldn't because his youngest child was sick, the attorney said.
Shoemaker's appearance was the second part of a two-segment piece on CBS' The Early Show about the case of the girl, who was 5 when she was last seen.
The first part aired Friday with Haleigh's stepmother, Misty Croslin Cummings, 17, saying she suspects someone on the "other side of the family that has her."
The statement was interpreted to mean Ronald Cummings' family. But on Monday, the network aired additional footage of the interview that indicated Misty Croslin Cummings was casting suspicion on the family of Haleigh Cummings' biological mother.
Crystal Sheffield has admitted she didn't have a close relationship with Haleigh, Misty Croslin Cummings said.
"I don't think that she, personally had anything, to do with it,'' Misty Croslin Cummings said in the interview that aired this morning.
Authorities have said Haleigh Cummings was abducted. No suspects have been named. No arrests have been made.
Check back for updates.

Lawyer: Haleigh’s Dad Concerned Over Stepmom’s Statements
NEW YORK -- The father and stepmother of Haleigh Cummings have gotten caught up in a “he said, she said” on national television.
Misty Croslin Cummings appeared on the CBS “Early Show” Friday, saying she thought a member of her husband’s family may have kidnapped the missing 6-year-old girl from her Putnam County home in February.
Ronald Cummings was supposed to appear on the show Monday morning, but dropped out at the last minute.
Appearing in his place, Ronald Cummings’ lawyer, Terry Shoemaker said his client had some concerns with Misty’s statements.
“Ron has stuck by Misty all along,” Shoemaker said. “He has had some concerns about the statements she’s made, but he has stood by her all along.”
Shoemaker said the pressure surrounding Haleigh’s disappearance was what led to the couple’s impending divorce.

Art Harris calls Donna Brock a "wonderful woman" on JVM tonight.
JVM is behind the times, reporting that it's unknown whether or not Misty meant the Cummings family or the Sheffield family when she made her remarks on Friday about the other side of the family having taken Haleigh. Would it really be so hard to have listened to exactly what Misty had to say today instead of just Friday's interview? :punch:
Judge Karen Mills -Francis smooched up to Jane by saying that she knew that Jane would have asked follow-up questions whereas CBS didn't bother.
Oh, here's a quick blurb about Jane's addiction. Puhleez Can we not bring up this 14 1/2 years of sobriety for just a NY minute here? Sure, up to and including 50% of Putnam County may have drug problems or addictions, but could Jane leave herself and her book out of the discussion?
