Mike Galanos/Prime News on HLN is covering Haleigh's disappearance and there is much ado about the fact that so many leads have not been investigated and so much has not been processed. WTH not?!? Dunno who all it was that trusts these yahoo Putnam County good old boys, but I just don't. If they don't have the manpower or the brains, the EFF Bee Eye does! :cuss: They are still stymied with the timeline.

Cobra Takedown, Part 2, Revoking Bond of Accused Child Molester Lead to Arrest

In the sequel to the Cobra takedown video aired earlier on artharris.com, William Staubs , pro bono private eye and bounty hunter, revokes the bond of an accused predator in Satsuma, Florida, a circus teacher charged with aggravated sexual battery against a child under 12 and molesting her older sister.

Unicycle teacher Daniel Snodgrass, 54, who goes on trial for the capital sex charges June 22 in Palatka, tries to pull away from the nearly 300 pound (with gear) bounty hunter as Staubs, aka Cobra, trips him to make it easier to slap on the cuffs.

“Marty, call my lawyer, call the bondsman,” Snodgrass screams to his housemate as two Putnam County Deputies stand feet away.

Shirtless in blue jeans and sporting a gray Fu Manchu, Marty tries to order Cobra off the property as a tresspasser, then reverts to snapping digital stills of what the alleged perp claims was unauthorized and illegal, an incident that lead him to press criminal charges against Staubs.

Cobra surrendered on May 22 to the Putnam County Jail, then bonded out on charges of false imprisonment, a third degree felony.

Staubs denies the accusation, claiming as a licensed bondsman he had power of attorney, authority and permission to investigate the accused sexual predator’s bond conditions–after Snodgrass tried to stop by the Haleighbug Center to donate furniture and caused a stir.

One of his bond conditions bars any contact with girls under 18; the center has been a magnet for families with children of all ages offering to volunteer or buy t shirts and bracelets from mother Crystal Sheffield before she moved the operation to her home in Baker County.

As for Staubs, the insurance company backing the bond, denies it gave him permission to revoke the bond, and we hear Snodgrass screaming at Cobra that he’s been fired off the case, urging us to film what he says is illegal.

On the way to surrender Snodgrass to the jail, Cobra gets a call from general insurance agent C.E. Parish of Continental Heritage. He orders Cobra to release Snodgrass.

“You’re the boss,” says Cobra, who prepares to return the alleged predator home. Snodgrass is free on a $70,000 no collateral bond from Chuck’s Bail Bonds of Palatka, a firm started by a local cop who served several years in prison for child molestation.

“How are you doing?” asks Parish when Cobra hands Snodgrass the phone to talk with the “boss man.”

“Lousy,” says the local businessman who is accused of using the ruse of teaching unicycle lessons to underage girls as a pretext to allegedly groom them for twisted sex games that resulted in molestation and sexual assault charges.

Parish blamed poor “communication,” and tells Snodgrass’ that his bond papers were determined to be in order and that Cobra would take him home.

“Is that what you want?” asks Cobra.

“No, I want to go with you,” sneers Snodgrass, dripping sarcasm.

SATSUMA, Fla. -- The mother of a missing north Florida girl has closed the small building she hoped would be a headquarters for clues in the case.

According to an attorney helping her, Crystal Sheffield closed the "Haleighbug Center" in Satsuma because of a medical issue. Kim Picazio said most of the informing coming to Sheffield recently were rumors and gossip.

Sheffield's 5-year-old daughter Haleigh Cummings disappeared in February from her father's mobile home, where she was being watched by the man's girlfriend. Authorities are treating the case as an abduction and say they're still sifting through more than 4,000 leads. No one has been named as a suspect.

Picazio says Sheffield will establish a new headquarters on her family's property in Baker County.

Wouldn't this be a good time to bring in the FBI or the state police or some other agency that WOULD have the manpower to investigate? Or, isn't this little girl's life worth it? And, hang the $$$. It does not seem that folks get convicted much there, even w/drug charges and all. So, yes, use drug bust money to find this little girl--her disappearance probably has some drug relationship to it, anyway. IMO

There is a difference between knowing what has happened and being able to prove it. When they can prove it, we will see action. IMO

FBI was involved early on, but when Putnam County came out with the information that they had such a backlog of tips to be investigated, you had to wonder if they were still being utilized. Honestly, if Crystal had such a tough time getting her to the doctor and Ron had such a hard time keeping her healthy enough to attend school, I wonder if the kidnapper does any better if she's alive. Would a kidnapper care to go to such lengths?

The news on JVM was that Ron had bruised and bloody knuckles when LE arrived at the trailer after Haleigh's abduction. He had apparently punched the back door and blood on the door matched his, so that answers that question. (Did they test for when that happened?) Also according to witnesses, when Misty picked Haleigh up from the bus stop on Monday, she apparently was edgy, told Haleigh to hurry, slapped one of the boys in the van (I think I heard that right), and commented (not sure to whom) that they didn't want anymore of the stuff they had over the weekend.

Ronald Bruised Knuckles Punching Door After 911 Call

The Bald Truth has learned exclusive new details in the Haleigh Cummings mystery, from a father’s bloody hands, to an updated timeline—that sources close to the case say may help law enforcement flesh out conflicting stories in the baffling disappearance of the missing five year old. Little Haleigh was reported missing more than four months ago by then babysitter Misty Croslin who married her father, Ronald, a month later.

While law enforcement agencies met last week to go over what they do know and what they don’t about the circumstances, Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said some evidence had yet to be analyzed, and would be soon, and felt confident the case would be solved.

But we can report exclusively one minor mystery has been solved–why Ronald Cummings right fist appeared to be badly bruised after his daughter was reported missing at 3:27 am, Feb. 10. On the 911 tape, he sounds angry at Misty, and police tell me he was so upset his daughter was gone, he reared back and slammed his fist into a door.

“He was upset when he got home, and when he got angry, he punched a door and busted up his knuckles,” said Lt. Johnny Greenwood, spokesman for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department in an exclusive interview with The Bald Truth, aka artharris.com.

Sources tell The Bald Truth that investigators saw Ron bleeding when they arrived that night, and immediately swabbed his hand (along with several other people who gave permission) for possible DNA to confirm his account, and state of mind.

In fact, Cummings pointed out the exact spot on the back door he’d hit hard enough to leave a hand print. As part of a thorough forensic exam of the trailer, police took blood samples from the door that matched blood from his wound, sources tell me, and ruled his account plausible and believable.

But cracking the Haleigh mystery remains far more difficult than cracking knuckles, and sources tell The Bald Truth, a major focus has been anyone with ties to the families, or who may have been watching, or had access to Cummings’ trailer that night.

Police say investigators have spoken with Misty Cummings more than 10 times, along with members of both families, including mother Crystal Sheffield, who is engaged in a bitter custody dispute over Haleigh and little brother Ronald, Jr. Investigators have been trying to schedule more meetings with Ronald and his lawyers, but had not when we last spoke earlier this week.

No one has been accused, or named as a suspect, or person of interest. But in a desperate quest to find answers, investigators are attempting to plug inconsistencies in what they call Misty’s conflicting timeline—and where she may have been that night. She claims she was at the trailer, never left and was not sleeping so heavily from being under the influence of anything illegal that would have kept her from hearing an intruder.

But The Bald Truth has learned Misty’s wild partying we’ve reported – and law enforcement police sources confirm — in the days leading up to the lost little girl raise questions about her state of mind that night – and fuel some investigators’s theories that a possible drug craving may have lead her to search for more drugs the night Haleigh vanished.

Let’s go back.

We’ve reported extensively and exclusively on the wild party weekend that witnesses and friends have told us began as early as the previous Wednesday, when 17 year old Misty told fellow party girl “Nay Nay” (Christina Prevatt, 18) she’d had a fight with Ronald after suggesting she might be pregnant.

To hear the story Nay Nay has told us on camera, she drove Misty to meet a local named Greg Page, aka White Boy Greg, and the trio were off for several days and nights partying with cocaine, a painkiller called “Roxies,” pot, and alcohol. By early Sunday, as Nay Nay, and Page tell me, they were partied out, and Nay Nay dropped Misty at her parents, though Prevatt says she was speaking with Cummings earlier and it sounded like a reconciliation was in the works.

Whether she wound up back at the trailer Sunday night is not known, but a parent in the carpool line Monday afternoon has told police –and The Bald Truth in an exclusive interview, that she overheard Misty griping at the wheel of the family’s blue van as she waited for Haleigh to get off the school bus, about the “bad ****” they’d bought from someone the night before (Sunday), and would never buy anything from that dealer again.

The parent who was also waiting for her children to get off the bus and asked to go nameless, told me it sounded like Misty was talking to her companions in the car about drugs they’d used the night before (Sunday). “I was pulled up right next to her window and could hear it clearly,” the woman told me, saying it was the same account she gave investigators.

But what she says she saw next truly shocked her. Haleigh emerged from the bus, all smiles, and began running to the van, where Misty was trying to control two little boys, possibly Ronald Jr and Haleigh’s cousin who is the son of her brother and sister in law, Lisa. She says she heard an obviously irritated Misty scream for Haleigh to hurry up, then slap one of the boys...

...Stunned she says she turned to boyfriend, Jerry Santos, a local businessman and little league coach, who was there to pick up their children. He didn’t see the alleged slapping, he tells me, but did see Misty behind the wheel, and Haleigh get off the bus and climb in with her.

Both Ronald Cummings and his mother, Teresa Neves, have claimed separately they picked up Haleigh that last Monday afternoon, but at least three parents tell me they only saw Misty at the bus stop. But Santos tells me, “Misty was definitely driving,” that he never saw either father or grandmother at the bus stop.

Neither Neves, nor Cummings returned our calls for comment today, and his grandmother, Annette Sykes, accused The Bald Truth of being very unfair to Ronald and her family in its coverage of her missing great granddaughter and said, “You know all you need to know,” before slamming down the phone and ordering us not to call again. Nor did Cummings attorney Greg Kimball, return our calls. He’s been speaking via press releases.

Why was Misty so irritable that day at the bus stop, investigators are trying to understand, with some theorizing it could be because she might have been jonesing from partying Sunday night, and by Monday afternoon, had grown edgy, possibly from a rebound effect, and griping about the quality of party favors.

And what might that have had to do with Ron Cummings driving like a bat out of hell Monday morning as he took Haleigh to her last day of school, then went to work, where police confirm he was until he left to go home and find his daughter gone?

Several parents tell me they saw Ronald driving so fast he nearly clipped a group of parents and children standing near the bus stop, then sped off.

According what private investigator William Staubs says sources told him – and mine confirm – Ronald was up all Sunday night waiting for Misty to come home. The sources say she never did, and he finally fell asleep—and overslept. Then had to rush and race to get Haleigh to school, and presumably try to find Misty before he went to work Monday afternoon at PDM Bridge Company, where sources say co workers and cell phone records confirm he was until quitting time.

When she finally came in Monday morning, she slept at her father’s house” nearby, Staubs tells me in an exclusive interview.

Whatever happened that Sunday night, Misty was back driving the carpool Monday afternoon, and at the Ron’s trailer after that. But did she leave again Monday night, possibly to score and ward off the bad mood earlier witnessed in the carpool line? She says not, that she was home with the kids all night Monday, and so far, no one has come forward to say otherwise, sources tell me.

There are apparently several witnesses who place Misty at the bus stop, but Ron said that he picked Haleigh up, and then it was reported that Teresa said that she picked Haleigh up, but the transcript of the NG show is apparently incorrect; someone on another board posted a youtube of the interview and Teresa says that Ron picked Haleigh up. (NOT that she's a reliable reporter anymore than he is IMO.)

Those boys are probably her brother's and SIL's (forget which bro has sons and which has a daughter). The stuff Misty referred to was inferior drugs, according to the Art Harris article. Not sure how much faith I have in the report that she slapped one of the kids unless the witness reported the incident to DCF and they investigated for markings, bruising, etc.

Thanks for the links. The one that caught my eye was "until recently, Sheffield had owed Ronald over $4000 in back child support." Hey!!! I wanted some details!!! Does that mean she paid the back child support? If so, how did she come up w/$4000? And, isn't that a fairly small sum for someone supposed to pay child support for some time? Or, was the back child support issue dropped for some reason. Can you do that? And, if you can, and if that is what occured, I'm curious as to why.

I am hoping Haleigh was abducted by a family member. There are probably many of her mother's relatives that didn't like Haleigh living with Ron and Misty. The news of all the children that have been killed lately would be an incentive to get Haleigh into a safer environment.

Loretta, where are you finding these awesome pictures of my man?? Is he a model? I mean Ina has him on the show often but I do not recall ever hearing what he does, he obviously has money to afford a home in the city and a place in the Hamptons? God, please explain to me why this guy is gay? I know people say that people are born that way and perhaps that is true, but damm, women would be flocking to him in droves if he was straight, me would be first in line! However, I do adore gay men and I bet if we were to ever meet, he and I would hit it off!!! I have had rocking good times with gay men, going to the leather bars and there is this place in Springfield MA that I used to go and it was a pretty hot club, gay and straight people go there and everyone can feel comfortable there and it is upscale, about 200 different martini's and really good food and the really hot music as I do like dance music, I must be one of the few people that wished disco had not died out, I loved grooving to the Bee Gee's!!

As I told you before we used to vacation in Fire Island and even back then there was a large gay population, this in the era where no one dared to come out of the closet and I remember that no one cared there if men were "a little light in their loafers" they were accepted because these guys knew how to throw a bash!! I remember every year they would have the General's Ball, whereas all the women dressed in gowns and men in tuxes and one time I actually got to see Katherine Hepburn and met Truman Copote and he was a really nice guy, gave me and my cousin a lolli-pop, I was about 6 and as for Katherine, I knew she was a movie star and that was about it, especially being six, cartoons and the occasional movie was of the children's variety. Truman was buds with the gay guys I talked about before, Maurice especially. I can still see him on the beach flying a kite, wearing clam diggers and I would be wearing them too, he loved to party and always wanted all of us kids there too!! He would throw a bash on 4th of July, lobster bake and fireworks and bake all kids of goodies and we would watch all parents getting down on the terrace dancing to Glen Miller and Guy Lombardi!!

We thought we were so grown-up because we got to stay up late! And Maurice's lover was the opposite of him, he worked in the garment district too and he would keep all the ladies up to date on what Jackie O was wearing, those pillbox hats and A-line skirts and every woman just had to have the latest including mother dear, especially the hats, she had them in all colors and I thought they were ugly, she tried to get me to wear one at Easter and I refused!! Those are good memories, over 40 plus years now and all of these folks are long dead, Maurice lived into his 80's. He was a tiny guy and looked better in women's clothes than he did men's and he would wear bright scarves and ascots, the few times I saw him in a suit, it was pink or purple!!! He made a lot of his own clothes, but also loved designer clothes and being somewhat of a tomboy, he would tisk tisk at me and would tell me that all little girls were sugar and sweet and did not look good in denim!! He plucked my eyebrows when I was 11, he said I had beautiful eyes and no one could see them!! Some of my cousins used to love doing the dress up thing and he was happy to oblige!! So give me all the poop on Mr T.R. will ya? Does he have a web-site??

Ah the black and white ball, us kids were banned from that one, however my parents and aunt and uncle attended a few of those and they would bring us back some goodies, like petit fours and the like. I knew he had to have been a model and guess what he is single, but alas, Loretta, you and I don't stand a chance! I remember this guy who was friends with a past roomie who was gay and Mark had a face that angels made. a body and a half, I used to swoon every time he came in the house in cutoffs and muscle shirt and this guy was as gay as a picnic basket!! I asked him one time when I was in my cups as to why he was gay and had he dated women prior and that he knew he was gay at a young age, but could not act on it because his parents would have disowned him. I knew his Dad too, and he was this beefy football coach and there would have been no way that he would have accepted Mark being gay, and God Bless he died before he ever had to know.

His mom was not thrilled as he is an only child and she wanted grandkids, but she came around because she wanted him to be happy. As for dating women, he went to his proms and other social events and actually had this good friend Cindy who knew he was gay and she played the girlfriend throughout high school because she did not want him to take the heat from all the boys and he looks totally male and not a one suspected anything and years later he was surprised to see one of the big buff football players that his Dad coached at a gay bar in CT!!! I was with him and this blew his mind!!! I remember too, seeing this guy who was married with kids and was an owner of a straight bar at this same bar, lip locked with some queen on the dance floor and when he say me he froze and looked like a deer caught in a headlight and when the band went on break, he came rushing over to try to do damage control and I told him I did not give one fig what he did, he knew I was straight so he asked me why I was there and I told him I went there often with my gay friends so they could be themselves and party down.

I never told a soul because Paul is a nice guy and I knew his wife and kids too and I did not want to see them get hurt, even though that is what he was doing and a couple of years later he got caught by his wife kissing some guy in his truck and his wife took the fillings out of his teeth and told the whole world her husband was a fag and he told her he knew he was gay at a young age, but could not act on it and this is one of the main reasons I support gay and lesbians. They often live a total lie, they are miserable in their own skin, they often turn to drugs and alcohol, if they are married, they have clandestine affairs and it is not fair to any of them. Could you see the furor there would have been had Rock Hudson come out?? Hell, he was underground, never mind being in the closet!!! And who did not know Liberace was as gay as a spring bouquet?? Apparently, the older set did not, including my grandparents, they just thought he was flamboyant and flashy because Vegas is one glitter dome and when it was revealed that he died of AIDS, they freaked out!!! Now my parents as uptight as they are, accepted gays as I also have a gay cousin and he is a flamer and a half!!

And let's not forget the All American Daddy, Robert Reed, aka Mike Brady, can you dig it if he came out? This show was all about family and that means Carol and Mike, not Chris and Steve and how hard it must have been for Robert to play this squeaky clean family man with 6 kids, even though it was just a show, he must have felt weird kissing Florence when he probably wanted to kiss Alice's boyfriend!!! So I do support same sex marriage, I am not sure I understand totally about homosexuality, but love is love IMO and if these folks are able to get married to who they really want to, where lies the harm? I thought Miss CA was a complete idiot, albeit honest, she should have said something along the lines of, why she was brought up to value that marriage is between a man and woman, that in today's society, live and let live should be the norm. But she blew herself right up and when asked the same question, the new Miss CA said about the same thing I just wrote and has earned big kudos for that.

Remember when beauty contestants were asked what they wanted to do with their lives, it was go to college, meet a future doctor and get married and have 2.3 kids? Or to solve world hunger? Hang out at parades waving to the adoring crowd? My mother wanted me to be a the next Miss NJ as in 1962, I believe it or not, was on the cover of a woman's magazine, me and my little lamb and I hated going to the shows, I hated wearing all those dresses and finally my Dad told her to back off because he knew I hated it and would rather be playing with my Tonka trucks!!! Did you hear that Chasity Bono now wants to be a man? And boy has she gained tons of weight, I wonder if it has to do with the shots she has to take to make her male, she must weigh 300 lbs, maybe she should have the Lap band put in first! She was such a cute baby, I remember thinking she is gonna be a knockout like her mother and in her younger years she was very fly and she now says she is not a lesbian per se, she is transgender and I know it is easy to go from male to female, but what blows me away is in order to go from female to male, they have to use parts, (I don't think I need to say what) to form a penis and I gotta wonder that it won't be very big and can it actually work? Dr. Gary on 90210 had a pt on the show where he did that kind of surgery and he was able to have full use even though it was not very big so I guess it all depends on perhaps their partners to evaluate that!

Haleigh Exclusive: Mystery Donor Revealed!

“I remember watching Haleigh Cumming’s mother break down in front of the cameras,” says Crystal Sheffield’s mystery benefactor in an exclusive interview with The Bald Truth.

“She was just shaking and sobbing, and talking about how much she missed her daughter, and I kept thinking, ‘This poor lady.’ I couldn’t imagine what she was going through, facing $12,000 in back child support and selling bracelets and t-shirts to raise money to keep people interested in finding her missing child.”

The angel donor asked that her last name not be used, but her first name is Barbara. She’s a Texas oilfield analyst with no children of her own, just a big heart for single, working mothers struggling to get by. She doesn’t tithe to a church, she tells me, but believes in giving back, shunning the big name charities to give 10 per cent of a nice income directly to individuals in need. Crystal Sheffield fit her bill, she says.

“I was just touched, and decided, ‘this is someone I wanted to help.”

So she tracked down Sheffield attorney Kim Picazio, and in April, dashed off the first of three checks that will ultimately go to Ronald Cummings for the care of missing five year old Haleigh and Ronald, Jr.

Thanks to her Texas “angel” investor, Crystal is expected to be free and clear of her child support debt this week.

It’s a circuitous route, with Barbara mailing funds from Texas to Picazio, who deposits it into her firm’s trust account, then dashes off a check to state child support disbursement officials.

When it clears, usually within a week, Picazio tells me she writes a check to state of Florida disbursement officials, who either draft a check for Cummings, or direct deposit it into to his bank account.

After Barbara’s first check for $2,000 arrived, Picazio says she drafted and mailed one to state officials on April 27 for that amount. She says Cummings’ lawyers confirmed it was received, along with a second for $2,100 she mailed to the state on May 13. His attorney’s could not be reached for comment.

Last seek, Picazio says she received the last check from Barbara for $8,317.94, and promptly dispatched it to the state.

“That will pay off Crystal’s child support arrears in full,” Picazio tells me. “It just changes Crystal’s life in so many ways.”

Barbara tells me when she first called, Picazio put her in direct touch with Crystal, who seemed extremely grateful. “She didn’t ask me for anything, just said it should be between me and Crystal.”

Afterwards, she says Crystal called. “She was speechless,” says Picazio, and “so appreciative. This was not solicited, but came out of the blue.

“There are some people in the world who donate to large foundations, and others who donate to individuals they wish to help directly. I think this lady’s gesture and charitable spirit was noble, and was used very directly to help a particular individual in need.”

“I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for single mothers struggling to work and raise their children alone,” says Barbara, who has taken her own sister into her home, a local cop raising a daughter on her own.

In fact, she says she moved into a larger home in the Houston suburbs so they could all live together, and has been gratified to see the burden ease for her sister and her neice.

She’s says fine with the money going to Haleigh’s father, “if it’s money the court says is owed, to take care of the children.”

Barbara hasn’t followed the investigation in detail and isn’t taking sides in the parent wars. “I’m as much in the dark as anyone,” she says, “I don’t know what happened….but there must have been an unsafe situation in the home for this to happen, an unsafe environment.”

Barbara says she’s a regular reader of artharris.com, where she goes for updates, along with Nancy Grace and Jane Velez Mitchell. She did note Misty Cummings’ wild weekend of partying, first reported here, and wonders if “she was so wiped out, she left to get something that night, or was just so tired she didn’t wake up and whatever happened happened.”

Misty has denied both scenarios. “Whatever,” says Barbara, “it seems like an unsafe situation for the kids to have been in.”

As for her charitable style, mystery Texas woman fast on the draw with her checkbook. Barbara says she ordinarily sends checks to friends “in a bad situation, or if I see a family where the parent has lost a job and is struggling. This time, I wound up giving more than normal, but I’d set it aside, and have to remember how fortunate I’ve been. I know money can’t buy you love, maybe it can buy you a little time.”

The first search, on 30 acres belonging to Marie Griffis, turned up animal remains, as expected, but nothing else.

Investigators told First Coast News they wanted to make sure they were following through on every possibility, so divers, diggers and searchers went through the property after learning several animals were buried there.

After completing the search on Griffis' land, the searchers moved over to another relative's property, a 25-acre tract.

About 40 investigators, including the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office dive team and cadaver dogs, came to Baker County early this morning and searched through a pond and under several trailers.

Investigators said they were just being thorough, and that they would be remiss if they didn't check the burials to confirm they are animals.

They said they have no reason to doubt the family's claim that only animals are buried there, but felt they needed to be thorough.

Griffis' property was checked already, but it was during the first week of the investigation, and it wasn't a very thorough search at that time, according to investigators.

Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, also lives on that property in Baker County.

Thanks for the story and link, Loretta. I have been searching and could find nothing new on the search for Haleigh. Glad there are still some searches going on. Re the child support checks, he (Ron) probably got the tatoo before he received the check, but I was just wondering... I am not going to criticize any state's DCFS because I know first hand how overworked and burned out and underpaid these folks are, but everyone is not perfect either. jmo :rose:

Haleigh Search Yields No Clues, Just Crack!


Two months before Friday’s police search, a grieving mother hunting answers requested a parent update from frustrated Putnam County detectives working the Haleigh Cummings mystery, only to learn investigators had no break, but were working hard to follow up some 4,000 tips they’d run down, and remained committed to finding her daughter, and analyzing more forensic evidence.

While sources close to the case told me police did not consider Haleigh a stranger abduction, then or now, theorizing it more likely a child snatch by someone with ties to, or familiar with, the Cummings family, they couldn’t tell Crystal much, says her attorney, Kim Picazio. She joined Crystal for the sheriff’s department briefing in Satsuma that also included Sheffield’s mother, Marie Griffis.

Officially, no one had been ruled out, but sources told me investigators were focused on plugging holes in conflicting stories given by a 17 year old babysitter, Misty (then Croslin), who after several days of hard partying, reported Haleigh missing early Feb. 10 from the trailer where she was living with father, Ronald Cummings, Haleigh and little brother, Junior.

All the more reason why Marie Griffis made her unusual request – for police to search their 40 acre farm in Baker County for little Haleigh, dead or alive, to clear up suspicions, gossip or innuendo that the Sheffield side of the family had anything to do with the child gone missing. The search had nothing
to do with any so called “tip,” as some have misreported.

“We wanted them to formally clear Crystal,” said Kim Picazio, her attorney in an interview with The Bald Truth. “They’d never searched the property, and we felt it important so people could read between the lines and understand she’s not on their radar as a suspect and never was.”

That request initially set plans into motion for Friday’s intense search in Baker County, sources tell me, and more than three dozen sheriff’s deputies from three counties, along with state police from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) descended on Griffis’s hay farm where Sheffield lives in a trailer with boyfriend, Chad, and daughter, Chloe, just behind Marie and Bruce Griffis’s doublewide.

As reported by local media and confirmed by law enforcement, police also brought along divers to check two nearby lakes, cadaver dogs to search for human remains (they found none), used backhoes to dig up animals –horses, cows, goats–the family alerted police before the search they’d buried on the property, according to Captain Dominic Piscitello, of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department who supervised the effort.

“We searched just about everything and came up empty,” Piscitello told reporters, declaring there was no evidence of any human remains, or Haleigh.

Since the property belonged to Griffis’ husband, Bruce, he had to sign consent forms in advance to allow police on his property. Sources close to the case say Griffis made clear to law enforcement they would only allow police to conduct the search, not controversial private investigator William Staubs, aka Cobra, who represents Marie’s ex mother in law, and has been highly critical of Crystal and her attorney.

Out on bond for allegedly arresting an accused sex offender without authorization—something he vehemently denies—Cobra faces a third degree felony charge for false imprisonment.

While Cobra claims the family was tipped in advance of the search, Kim Picazio insists her clients requested the search, but didn’t know the exact date it would happen—an account law enforcement confirms—until searchers showed up. In fact, she seemed surprised when Crystal called her Friday morning, followed by a local reporter telling her a search was underway. Sources close to the case tell me law enforcement is keeping insider details about the investigation from Picazio.

In our interview, Picazio told me Crystal relayed that Marie was out on the property leading searchers around, and they were “digging,” something the family did not know would happen, according to sources close to the investigation. But when police showed up with back hoes, Griffis showed officers where to dig for the farm animals they’d buried.

Not only did police unearth the carcasses to confirm the claims, but used dogs to search inside and under all trailers and structures, witnesses told me. Piscatello told reporters the search turned up no clues to indicate Haleigh had been there, and called it all part of “due diligence,” just another effort to rule out potential suspects and check off extraneous issues that would allow investigators to narrow the focus of the Haleigh probe.

No search warrants were necessary, and none had to be requested, sources tell me, because the family asked for police to search. Nor would a judge likely have issued one so easily since there was no probable cause a crime had occurred there...

...The only wrinkle: police searching an empty truck on the property discovered an undisclosed amount of crack and crack pipes. When I spoke with Major Gerald Gonzalez of the Baker County Sheriff’s department Monday morning, he said the truck was not registered to anyone in the Sheffield or Griffis families, but to a man described as a friend, Jesse Watkins.

“The Putnam County folks discovered the crack and crack pipes and turned it over to us,” said Gonzalez, “but we were not able to make contact with Mr. Watkins to get his take on what was located.”

According to Maj. Gonzalez, the ‘91 green and white Ford truck was parked near a trailer on the property. “Nobody was willing to stake claim to it. Basically we were told it was a friend.”

He said the Griffis are well regarded, and that there was alot of sympathy for the plight of Haleigh’s mother, Crystal Sheffield, in Baker County, where her mother, Marie, is a longtime school bus driver.

“It’s my understanding they were very cooperative, and wanted this search done to make sure everyone knew from their perspective everything that could be investigated was investigated,” said Gonzalez.

While the crack seizure remains under investigation, Maj. Gonzalez doubts there will be any arrests, or charges. “You’d never be able to prosecute something like this unless he or anyone was foolish enough to say, ‘Yeah, that’s mine.’”

Calls to Crystal, Chad, and Marie Griffis were not returned.

Here it is almost 6 months and not one molecule of Haleigh has turned up, but I don't suspect Crystal, if she did take Haleigh and hide her somewhere, somebody would have come forward by now and she is not that sophisticated nor rich enough to make that happen, say by shipping her off to some island. No, the suspect number one is Misti and I totally agree with the woman my friend talked to at that honky tonk, that police dept could not find their own asses never mind a child. Yeah, they did more ground searches, but they are not doing what my guys would have done a long time ago, stay right on her ass, we still don't have concrete proof she did pass those polygraphs and for her to take two of them, something is fishy there. Mike Brooks rocks!! He too, deeply suspects Misti like we all do and he thinks that now that new investigators are on the case, fresh eyes as it were, that maybe they will get right on her case, we all know that her stories don't wash and the time line can't be established because of her story changing by the hour and maybe these new guys will really hammer at her and tell her that her stories are big fish lies and that they know she killed rhe child and maybe make her take yet another polygraph and tell her she flunked it. He too, deeply suspects Misti like we all do and he thinks that now that new investigators are on the case, fresh eyes as it were, that maybe they will get right on her case, we all know that her stories don't wash and the time line can't be established because of her story changing by the hour and maybe these new guys will really hammer at her and tell her that her stories are big fish lies and that they know she killed rhe child and maybe make her take yet another polygraph and tell her she flunked it. When I spoke with Major Gerald Gonzalez of the Baker County Sheriff’s department Monday morning, he said the truck was not registered to anyone in the Sheffield or Griffis families, but to a man described as a friend, Jesse Watkins.

Methinks Ms Picazio thinks the whole world is dumb or blind. The pics of the people and the interior of the car are crystal clear (no pun intended.) The blurry background is the trees and foliage along side the road--of a car in motion. If it was blurry because it was a cell phone, the whole damn pic would be blurry. One would be more likely to see other vehicles or buildings if one was in the parking lot of a drug store. They aren't even trees that you would see along the sidewalks. IMO

We have a case around here where a "father" went too far in punishing his son and the son was just removed from life support. Maybe Misty went too far....
I had one father tell me that he could use anything he wanted to "whip" his son who was just a normal kid, and he beat the child to within an inch of his life. I had tried to get the child out but time was not on the child's side. He got beaten but today he is in a loving home and the dad is incarcerated. The wheels of justice sometimes move slowly.

My take on it is that none of them are appropriate parents; they are more concerned about drugs than the welfare of their kids. glad I don't teach there; I probably would have been shot!! I have often wondered if the teachers were concerned about Haleigh---I usually have a feel for a parent since I have taught for so many years and always in an inner city. And the children do talk......and we are mandated reporters.


i cannot speak for anywhere in florida, but i live in a small town in northern california and i can tell you that there are so many cases of abused and neglected children here that it would make your head spin. the thing i do not understand is that if i can see the signs just seeing these children in stores or walking down the street why can't teachers or other people see them. the answer IMO as i see it is that in small towns people are less likely to "rock the boat" because everyone knows everyone in one way or another.

and just two days ago my husband and i heard a fight between a woman and her childrens father going on right down the street, and it was very apparent that he was hitting her, and the child got in between them and said he was trying to help his mom and the father screams.....SCREAMS....at the child to "get the **** away from her!" we called 911 along with about 3 other people, but there was at least 15 people in the neighborhood home at the time and there is NO WAY they did not hear this going on and they did nothing. again, that small town mentality........sickening :flamemad:

I think the child abuse is everywhere but perhaps you are right that in a small town the mandated reporters might hesitate to turn a parent in. but that certainly is not right. We have a case around here where a "father" went too far in punishing his son and the son was just removed from life support. Maybe Misty went too far....
I had one father tell me that he could use anything he wanted to "whip" his son who was just a normal kid, and he beat the child to within an inch of his life. I had tried to get the child out but time was not on the child's side. He got beaten but today he is in a loving home and the dad is incarcerated. The wheels of justice sometimes move slowly.

There's no telling what happened here, I wonder what theories LE has floated. Seems to me like they are focused on an abduction, but surely murder/manslaughter has crossed their minds.

I don't get how anyone could beat another human let alone a child. It made me sick to kill two snakes this summer. And it seems like you can't pick up the paper without seeing that some sumb!tch has killed a child or infant. The one that sticks in my mind was last year; the little boy was so badly beaten that NONE of his organs could be donated. :cuss::mad:

[ Good for you that you are not doing what your father did. I see a lot of parents with short fuses and they resort to violence, hitting, whipping, etc when the child is deemed doing something wrong. Those parents need anger management help but they don't usually get it and the beating goes generation to generation. Our social worker has workshops on discipline for the parents and she tells them to wait until they are cooled down before they discipline their children. Some take that to heart and others don't.

I am with you on that. It's heartbreaking and the parent needs to be behind bars. The most recent one here, the father said the child was not behaving as he should have and he took almost everything out of his room and wouldn't let the child come out of the room and beat him unconscious. At the hospital they put the child on a vent. but he was clinically dead. Two doctors had to weigh in on the "clinically dead" diagnosis.

According to Mike Brooks, the new investigators are from FLED and they are going back and digging and re-interviewing people so I expect that they will be getting around to Misti at some point and maybe I should have said, have her take another polygraph as to making her take one, I worded that wrong and see what kind of conclusion they get and I willing to bet if these guys are worth their salt, then maybe they will see that she is being deceptive. I have no faith whatsoever in Putnam CO, they let two inmates escape from their jail in broad daylight, so I think they are a redneck, podunk dept. And these are the cases where I think that if it is proven that he is only attracted to his 14 year old girlfriend, then he should not be on a registry. But we are dealing with pure D trash here, Neither one of the parents of Crystal or the other dumb twit apparently cared that Ronnie knocked their daughter's up. And Misti's toothless hag of a mama, said that she was waiting till she turned 18 to approve marriage, but yet, let her 17 year old daughter live with a 25 year old man???

I like my men to be educated and have a job and a home and a nice vehicle, but above all intelligence and be articulate and able to think for themselves and be confident in their own skin. Living with another woman and they just had a baby!! And he is all of 24! And they are living on welfare and he tells me the other night he is going to college in the fall and I don't buy it for a minute, he is lazy as they come. I'm just really surprised that there was a huge drug bust. Of course, we haven't seen any of those arrested actually in court and on trial, etc. I just wonder, if the likes of Ron Cummings has actual arrests and charges, but no convictions (and he isn't the only one, can't remember the other guy's name) how many of those arrested will actually never be convicted, probably just charges dropped? Would be interesting to see the arrest records of most people in Putnam County, to see what people were arrested for, and how many people were actually convicted? Wonder if Ron is one of a few, or one of many?

Haleigh Cummings Police Search Report!

As a member of the Putnam County Child Abduction Response Team, and a lead investigator trying to crack the Haleigh Cummings mystery, Peggy Cone found herself searching the hay farm in nearby Baker County last Friday, when more than three dozen law enforcement officers from the state police and several counties descended on two trailers the missing five year old’s mother, Crystal Sheffield, and her maternal grandmother, Marie Griffis, call home.

It was an invitation only affair, according to Captain Dominic Piscitello of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department; the mother’s family had invited law enforcement to search the 40 acre property to help remove any suspicion Haleigh might be hidden there, or had been there since she was reported missing Feb. 10 from her father’s trailer in nearby Satsuma, Florida.

After digging up several animals the family said they’d buried there, walking the property and sending divers into a nearby lake, Piscatello announced they’d found no sign of Haleigh, and no evidence to suggest she was there after her father’s babysitter turned child bride, Misty Cummings, said she awoke at 3 a.m. to use the bathroom and found her gone.

But during the search, Putnam County Det. Peggy Cone did discover drug paraphernalia and a small amount of crack cocaine in a Ford truck on the property, and reported it to a local deputy. “She showed me where she discovered a Marlboro Lights Cigarette pack behind the seat of a 1991 white and green Ford truck parked on the Southeast end of the property, which contained two Crack pipes and a plastic container with Crack Cocaine residue inside,” wrote officer Jerald A. Peterson, from the local sheriff’s Charlie Squad 1.

“I noted,” the deputy’s report goes on to say, “the cigarette packs location and took possession of the pack.”

But at the time, the deputy struck out trying to track down the truck’s registered owner the report identified as Jesse. L. Watkins, a friend of the family.

Later, he denied any knowledge of the drugs or pipes, Major Gerald Gonzalez of the Baker County Sheriff’s Department, told The Bald Truth, as did any member of the Sheffield or the Griffis families. Kim Picazio, attorney for Crystal Sheffield, said her client and family were shocked at the discovery and vehemently denied any suggestion they condoned –or might be using –illegal drugs.

According to a Gonzalez, given the sketchy circumstances, it would be virtually impossible to make a meaningful drug case and he doubted it would be pursued.

Exclusive: Haleigh Mom Mystery Donor Records

The Bald Truth has obtained exclusive copies of personal cashiers checks, deposit slips and correspondence from the Texas mystery donor named Barbara that reveal new details of the kind-hearted woman and her cash gifts to a grieving mother of a missing child for $12,000 in back child support Haleigh Cummings mother owed father Ronald.

According to her financial records, including cashiers checks she drew on her account at Chase, she initially only counted on paying off $4,000 of back child support, then agreed to put up three times that amount.

“When I began this process of contacting you to help resolve Crystal’s outstanding child support,” she writes Sheffield’s attorney, in e mails Barbara released exclusively Sunday to The Bald Truth, “it was my intent to help out a grieving mother that was doing everything in her power to find her child. That intent has not changed just because the dollar amount has increased.”

When told some had questioned the authenticity of the mystery donor, Barbara was outraged– and agreed to open the books on her donations, with the understanding her privacy would be protected. She says she wrote cashiers checks and mailed them to Kim Picazio for her trust account, then received confirmation the state had been paid in full.


The documents reveal the oil company analyst (who asked that her name and address be withheld to protect her from web crazies and cyberstalkers) volunteered to triple her donation when she was told Putnam County officials had grossly underestimated the arrears — that Sheffield really owed more than $12,000.

Shocked at first, Barbara says she “hopes there’s an accounting mistake,” according to one e mail obtained by The Bald Truth.

Haleigh Cummings vanished early Feb. 10, when her father’s live-in babysitter-girlfriend, 17 year old Misty Croslin (they married shortly after Haleigh went missing) called 911 to report the child had vanished from their trailer in Satsuma, Fla., while she slept, and Ronald was at work.

Police sources tell me she remains the “key” to solving the tragic disappearance, but is no longer speaking with investigators. When told some had questioned the authenticity of the mystery donor, Barbara was outraged– and agreed to open the books on her donations, with the understanding her privacy would be protected. She says she wrote cashiers checks and mailed them to Kim Picazio for her trust account, then received confirmation the state had been paid in full.


The documents reveal the oil company analyst (who asked that her name and address be withheld to protect her from web crazies and cyberstalkers) volunteered to triple her donation when she was told Putnam County officials had grossly underestimated the arrears — that Sheffield really owed more than $12,000.

Shocked at first, Barbara says she “hopes there’s an accounting mistake,” according to one e mail obtained by The Bald Truth.

It's frightening to think that Haleigh (and Junior) and countless other children in this circle of misfits are subject to the skewed and skewered thinking and actions of their families. There was a couple here a some twenty years ago who made international headlines trying to "return" a pair of twins they adopted overseas because they were unlikely to provide them with grandchildren. Haleigh is diagnosed with Turner Syndrome and according to court records, the fact that she missed several doctor appointments while living with Crystal may have been a factor in Ron being awarded custody. She was frequently absent from school, but not sure if TS was the reason.

Well it has been 6 months now and not one molecule of Haleigh has ever turned up, wherever she is buried must be a really good hiding place. And YOU KNOW IT Misti is the only suspect and I can't for the life of me figure out why any of these lawmen have not done what I think would break her as she is as dumb as a stump and IMO, all they would need to do is approach her with the we know you did it and it will go easier on you if you come clean now, if not, you will face the DP and this broad is not like Casey. Sara, in one of the pix with Haleigh walking alongside Ron, you can see that her elbow appears to be turned out. That was my first clue. There is some information in this thread about Turner's, the missed appointments and the school absences.

I just looked up some of the affects that Turner's has on people and one thing I found interesting is the fact that this syndrome can be detected almost right after conception so I am wondering how much prenatal care Crystal had because this can show up in a simple blood test and also fluid from the womb. It appears from all the pictures of Haleigh that she for sure has it, her face looks lopsided and her ears are not in the normal spot on her head and they are upturned, like cabbage ears and that behavioral problems are also a factor in this disorder so I am thinking that Haleigh was probably very hard to handle as cognitive skills are very limited and comprehension can also be a problem. So I am guessing she was probably a handful as the word no is not something Turner's people understand and it also sounds like the older she would have gotten, she would have had cardiac problems, and oft times the mostly females that have this disorder will not have normal if any, menstrual cycles, and overall body development will be stilted, sort of like dwarfism, small stubby arms and legs. Now based on all of this, how much did Ron and Crystal know about this, or should I say comprehend, because they are as ignorant as they come and I am sure Haleigh's Dr explained all this in terms that maybe they would get the severity of this disorder, but now I wonder how much he told Misti about this and Lord Knows I don't see her understanding where the flu comes from, never mind Turner's.

I am betting he has downplayed her symptoms and just told her that "Haleigh is a brat and you have my permission to beat her"? And this gene pool here between the Sheffield's and Scummings have chromosome chaos because that is what causes Turner's, one chromo is missing and I am betting we have a little incest here in the mix!!!! So poor Haleigh is the result and I dare say, I am almost glad that this little girl is probably dead because it sounds like the older she got, the more problems she would have had and Gee, do we dare think that maybe Ron and Misti both had something to do with what I think will be a homicide? A child with Turners does need a diligent parent. There are issues that have to be addressed and I have often thought of how Ron would do that. Of course, Misty would be totally unable; she can hardly take care of herself. I have not had a student with Turners but another teacher did and I know that the parents of the child did go to Children's for follow up and were right on top of it. The one thing I remember is the short stature and some heart problems.

Search for Haleigh Enters Another Month

Five-year-old Haleigh Cummings has been missing since February 10, 2009, when she was reported taken from her father's home in Satsuma, Florida in the care of his 17-year-old girlfriend--now teen bride, Misty Croslin-Cummings.

The results of the second roundtable meeting with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, The Putnam County Sheriff's Office and others involved in the search for this missing girl are expected soon.

The first roundtable meeting nearly a month ago produced the surprising information that several pieces of evidence previously gathered by techs had not yet been analyzed.

Since then, a search of the Baker County farm where Haleigh's mom, Crystal Sheffield, lives with her mother, Marie Griffis, took place in late June and turned up nothing more than a few animal bones.

That search at the request of the family which involved 43 officers, some cadaver dogs and a diver for the ponds on the property did take that area off the list of possible places where Haleigh could be.

Over 4000 leads have come into the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, so they do have a lot of information to go through.

Law enforcement has been very tight-lipped about the Haleigh Cummings case recently other than the information released on that search and the results of the first roundtable discussion of the case.

Putnam County Sheriff's officials have stated repeatedly that no one has been cleared in the investigation. They have also repeated their frustration with Misty Cummings and her inability to provide a consistent timeline for the night Haleigh disappeared.

The only new possible information on the case is coming from a few email tipsters and a private investigator who is embroiled in a legal battle over charges of false imprisonment involving an alleged child sexual predator who was out on bail.

Some of new leads provided by private investigator William "Cobra" Staubs are very eye-opening and each one is very much worth following. The trouble with these leads is being able to firmly nail down the validity of some of the claims made by the informants. Nobody wants to give it up.

Just when there is a hot lead to pursue, the trail suddenly stops with either an arrest or the informant(s) gets cold feet and refuses to cooperate any further.

It is also fair to say that about 95% of these informants are just individuals who looking for a way to interject themselves into a national story. They have no evidence in the case whatsoever.

Some of our other more credible sources tell The Sky that there may have been a change in the lead investigator into the Haleigh case. We shall see if this is true.

Haleigh Update: No 2nd FDLE Roundtable?

On June 4, 2009, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement hosted a roundtable including the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies on the abduction of a 5-year-old Satuma girl with the intention of holding a second such meeting in 30 days if the case was not solved by then.

That date has come and gone with no resolution in the abduction of Haleigh Cummings and no second roundtable has been planned.

“No second FDLE roundatable has taken place yet, but we do talk to FDLE nearly every day on this case,” said Lt. Johnny Greenwood with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in an interview with me on 97.3 The Sky Friday afternoon.

The first roundtable meeting nearly a month ago produced the surprising information that several pieces of evidence previously gathered by techs had not yet been analyzed.

Haleigh Cummings was last seen between 8pm and 10pm February 10, 2009 in her father’s Hermit’s Cove home in Putnam County near Satsuma, Florida. The girl was in the care of Haleigh’s father’s 17-year-old girlfriend–now teen bride Misty Croslin-Cummings. Misty was the last person to see Haleigh and her inconsistent timelines given to police have been frustrating for investigators in this case.

Since then, a search of the Baker County farm where Haleigh’s mom, Crystal Sheffield, lives with her mother, Marie Griffis, took place in late June and turned up nothing more than a few animal bones.

Lt. Greenwood said that search which involved 43 officers, some cadaver dogs and a diver for the ponds on the property was a part of their due diligence. They wanted to search the farm after hearing from family members in conversations that a horse had been buried on the property.

Over 4000 leads have come into the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. They still have plenty of information to sift through.

Lt. Greenwood did clear up a question as to who was now in charge of the investigation into Haleigh’s disappearance. Greenwood told me that when the investigation first began, Detective John Merchant, who handles the department’s murder investigations, and Detective Peggy Cone, who primarily deals with missing persons, worked together leading the case. He said that Merchant was more visible because he was seen in the media transporting people for questioning.

Greenwood said Friday that Merchant is very busy with a couple of recent murders in the county and that Detective Cone is now seen more publicly as the investigator in charge of the Haleigh investigation.

Putnam County Sheriff’s officials have stated repeatedly that no one has been cleared in the investigation.

I spoke recently with several family members and each of them is expressing frustration in the slow movement in the case. One relative who has been virtually silent for months told me Friday night that if some level of satisfaction is not met in the next couple of days, that silence will likely be broken.

I received word from South Florida late Friday afternoon that private investigator Cobra Staubs is assembling a new team that will independently and aggressively pursue all leads in case of missing Haleigh Cummings.

Haleigh is described as a 5 year old white female. She is approximately 3′0, 39 lbs, blonde hair & brown eyes with light peanut-shaped birth mark on her left cheek. Unknown clothing description.

Haleigh was last seen at her residence in the Hermit’s Cove area of Putnam County on February 9, 2009 between the hours of 8-10pm.

A statewide Amber Alert has been issued. An additional $35,000 in rewards have been posted.

The justice for Haleigh site is very good in my opinion. There is so much just plain wrong with this case and after reading the Justice for Haleigh it seems inconceivable that no one has been charged and apparently not much more is known about her disappearance. It seems as if the whole bunch are much more interested in drugs, sex, parties, etc than raising a child. If a child makes it, it would be in spite of their family, certainly not because of it.

I believe that Misty has told LE all that she knows. The mystery is what does she know. If she was sleeping when Haleigh was taken and didn't see anything, no amount of questioning would help the investigation.

But there is a chance that she saw everything and has told LE. If she was awakened by the abductor and was told to keep her mouth shut or Haleigh would die, both she and LE would try to keep that information secret. They may have only a description of the person/persons to work with.

Well it has been 6 months now and not one molecule of Haleigh has ever turned up, wherever she is buried must be a really good hiding place. And YOU KNOW IT Misti is the only suspect and I can't for the life of me figure out why any of these lawmen have not done what I think would break her as she is as dumb as a stump and IMO, all they would need to do is approach her with the we know you did it and it will go easier on you if you come clean now, if not, you will face the DP and this broad is not like Casey. Now we have not heard squat out of either Ron or Misti, Jane has asked them repeatedly to appear on her show and they so far have refused and after watching Misti's body language on the Today Show, I know she is not about to go on national TV again, because she all but admitted IMO that she knows where Halieigh's body is because she was sooo uncomfortable when Merideth was asking her about why her stories have changed and she sat there, you could tell she did not want to answer that question, she stared at the floor, looked fearfully at Ron and then in a little voice says she doesn't know??? Now if your child has been missing for 6 months, would you just sit back and do nothing? Wait for the law to do some searches? No, we all would be out everyday, maybe searching areas that were not previously covered, and from where I sit, I do not think the law made much of an effort to search the town, just around the area of the park is not good enough for me, we all know that most murderers will try to dispose of a body far from their comfort zone while pedophile murderers like the body to be in their comfort zone so they can relive the moment, hence Couey burying Jessie right next to the door. John Wayne Gacy buried most of his victims in his cellar. Ted Bundy disposed of his victims in remote areas, whereas some of them were never recovered, but his FL victims were recovered because he got sloppy there. But we are talking a lowlife 17 year old brain dead twit who can't even speak good diction, now I feel Haleigh is not far from the home, possibly in the landfill, or maybe she had a place she used to go as a kid and has not copped to where that is and no one else in this hillbilly trash family units are gonna give it up either. Wind, I don't remember reading that there is a behavioral component to TS, but if there is I have to wonder about Ron's on the record claim to the media that he has only spanked Haleigh according to the specifications of CFS. I mean, what exactly does The State of Florida recommend as corporal punishment for children who act out because of elevated temperatures or who vomit because of extreme nausea due to chemotherapy, for instance???

I believe that I've read that both Junior and Haleigh have heart murmur. Junior for sure (sorry, don't remember where). And isn't Turner's a sex link trait carried by the male? If Haleigh was spirited away because she is afflicted, it would make sense by the same token that Ron should disappear too. He's the real culprit for contaminating the gene pool.

What the article that I read said about behavioral problems is that because they are lacking it cognitive skills, they can get upset easily or angry. As for Misti being a sociopath, I suppose she could be to a point, but not as bad as Casey who really thinks she is going to walk out of that jail and be able to head to Fusion, she does not possess any feelings for anyone but herself, and her needs even came before her daughter's, but she also has a sociopath for a mother, whereas Misti's is just some toothless uneducated ignorant hillbilly. An older woman in back of me commented that there were her tax dollars being well spent and a guy gave her a filthy look as the all the kids were running around, the baby was screaming and here she is pulling out the WIC book, the food stamp card and she apparently had cash bennies on it because she bought a case of beer and a bottle of vodka and ciggies and here I am, trying to make it through the month and I can hardly ever buy me any new clothes or any extras and the balance came to $350 in food and $75 for the rest! Shoot, we keep laying off street police officers so we can pay for the ones who sit in the office and do "administration" duties. In reality it is "kingdom building" at its best. RE: Haleigh Cummings Case

This press release is in response to the Friday, June 26, 2009 dig and excavation on land owned by Crystal Sheffield's family in Baker County, Florida.

Forty police officers from five agencies reportedly participated.

The following is a quote from Lieutenant Johnny Greenwood, spokesman for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The quote was printed in the Saturday, June 27, 2009 Gainesville Sun:
"We are going back over our notes and conducting secondary searches. There has not been any new information leading us that way. We are pretty much going to dig up the horse... There is no information that she (Haleigh) is buried there at all".

Animal remains were recovered, as expected.

This office certainly hopes that no one in law enforcement is operating on the theory that Haleigh was murdered by her mother's family.

There is however a more plausible explanation. While this office does not have the statistical data that criminologist possess, it is safe and appropriate to state that most child abductions are perpetrated not by strangers, but by family members for purposes of illegally changing custody. Crystal Sheffield does not have custody of the parties' two children, including her daughter Haleigh, which is a social stigma in the eyes of some.

There is often a history of conflict between the parents, with a variety of disputes involving their children. This has certainly been true with Ronald Cummings and Crystal Sheffield.

There was in fact a pending contempt hearing for back child support against Crystal Sheffield when Haleigh went missing, which is a possible motive, since she was facing jail incarceration.

This office has provided to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and the Florida Department of Children and Families confidential memos dated April 1, April 6th, and April 17, 2009, that addressed these issues in great detail and correlated this to the crime scene which showed no signs of forced entry and the fact that Haleigh would have unlocked the door for a family member. The crime scene also featured a door propped open as if staged. A stranger perpetrator would likely have left the door shut to gain time for escape. This supports the notion that someone was trying to divert attention from himself or herself.

We are not making any accusations against anyone. We are asking that Crystal Sheffield's family be investigated in the same thorough, rigorous manner that Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin Cummings have been investigated. In addition to Crystal's mother and family in Baker County, Crystal's father Johnny Marcus "Marty" Sheffield resides in Putnam County, a few miles from where Haleigh went missing.

We hope that law enforcement follows family leads wherever it might direct them, including out of state. The FBI and out of state law enforcement agencies could possibly be of great assistance.

The perpetrator of this offense no doubt never contemplated on February 10, 2009 that this case would receive such media attention.

Continuing attention may yet lead to this case being solved.

Here, one can be in as much trouble buying cigarettes for an underage as much as they can be for buying beer/liquor for underage. I don't think it is enforced much @ all. Plenty of parents buy them for their kids. It's easier to track down and find the beer providers than the cigarette providers.

Haleigh Update: Family Members Getting Restless?


The search for Haleigh Cummings has taken some odd turns since she was abducted from her home in Satsuma, Florida, February 10, 2009. Now, some members of the missing girl's family are getting even more restless with length of time the investigation has taken.

I have promised my sources anonymity. It will be respected.

These family members have spoken individually and collectively with law enforcement officials pretty regularly since Haleigh disappeared. They said they have been told by one of the principal officers in the case that the investigation is starting over again from square one.

Law enforcement officials tell me the investigation continues.

In the meantime, some family members have indicated that another physical search for Haleigh on the property where a green trailer sits beyond a wooded area behind the home where Haleigh was taken might be planned. An officer told one family member that an attempt to contact the resident of the green trailer was in the process of being made when that officer was called into a meeting.

The other family members told me that after another meeting with some investigators recently and meetings later with each other that they have elected to wait an additional ten days or more before making any possible public statements about the case.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office told me Friday that no one wants a resolution to this case any quicker than they do. And I believe them.

Yes, they buy the cigarettes--don't know how young, but teenagers. They buy the beer (probably other alcoholic beverages, depending on the tastes of the family) and the teenagers drink that. Not all families, of course, and probably very few, but there are those who do that.

Since both smoked cigs among other things, I really don't see them as the type who would only smoke outdoors.
