I think you're spot on about Ron's relationship with Crystal. And I think Loretta is right about Crystal being horrified about the marriage last week because Haleigh is missing. Timing was an issue with her. (Not jealousy)

Watched NG, but had some interruptions, and I agree that Nancy needs to back off with the spite towards Crystal, BUT I did want to learn more about the false police report. Was that ever explained? Do we know where or when?

Is it me or did Nancy go CSR? Crystal suspected abuse in the past and reported it, but now she has corroboration, so her attorney contacts DCF. Or did I miss something? And I get that Ron had never abused the kids while Crystal was there to take care of them 24/7, but if he was beating her, wouldn't she have had fears that he would vent his rage on the kids? Yes. Okay. So when she left, she took them with her. But he ended up with custody. When did the abuse to the children begin? So far as we know, nothing has been substantiated. Is that because it's bogus or because Florida is lame when it comes to protecting children?

JVM noted that there are records of police calls to the Cummings household for loud fighting(?), is that at TN's or the new address? Did Misty actually live with Ron at TN's? How many times were LE called to the Green Avenue address? JVM also noted that Misty has no criminal records, but she's only just now an adult, so that's no surprise.

God help me, but Mark Klaas is wrong. This is exactly the time to bring attention to whether or not Junior is safe from the same threat that took Haleigh. And with so little information from LE, there is no way to know whether or not Haleigh's having gone missing has anything to do with Cummings or whether or not he's responsible. Being clocked in at work doesn't cut it in this case.

Well...we certainly haven't seen any of Ron's work buddies come forward and say he was definitely there the entire time, have we. But this is the first I've seen of OTHER relatives seeing Haleigh at around 7:00pm? It seems so odd we haven't heard of any of them until now.

Hey Suz! I'm not necessarily saying that Ron wasn't at work the whole time, but we don't have a timeline from LE and we don't know what time he went to work. I'll bet Leroy's left nut that Shauland told Galanos on Prime News* a while back that the last verified siting of Haleigh was by the neighbors in the afternoon; i.e. no verification of Mrs. Sykes in the evening. (Unless of course, afternoon to the neighbor/police is prior to evening by GGM's standard.)

Even if Cummings was clocked in and under surveillance the entire shift doesn't mean that his dealings aren't directly responsible for Haleigh's disappearance.

It was talked about in the beginning. Tommy and his kids came over and took one of their blankets when they left. Ronalds' grandmother came over when Misty and the kids were eating supper on the porch.

I got to thinking about Tommy and the blanket. I found him in the Flagler county court records and he has had some driving citations and other problems with the law. It appears that Misty has two brothers, Hank Thomas (Tommy), and Timmy. Tommy was reportedly driving his white van when he visited Misty that day. It appears that he is married to Chelsea. Tommy is also the person that accused cousin Joe of driving the blue van when it got scratched.

Is it possible that Tommy backed his van over Haleigh when he was leaving? What would have happened next? Possibly he picked up Haleigh and he and Misty wrapped her in the missing blanket. They might both be afraid of what Ronald would do so Tommy took Haleighs' body and disposed of her. He didn't have to tell Misty any of the details so she could truthfully say she didn't know where she is.

This is probably too simple and I don't see how they could get away with it but it seems a possibility.

DrewBI like her too. She was able to put NG back in her place with a smile. She wasn't flustered or intimidated at all. I have a couple of random thoughts.
1. My first one has to do with the back door and a little about noise. The first thing we have to remember is that locks, no matter how good, are meant to keep honest people out. They will not keep dishonest people out. Dishonest people know how to defeat locks quietly and quickly. So, it would be possible for a dishonest person to defeat the door lock and not damage the door so it could be seen with the naked eye. That is why they took the door, to inspect the lock when it was disassembled. That is when any telltale marks could be found. It may even take a microscope to find them. Or, they may not be able to be found. There is still a possibility that this was an "outside" job. A big possibility.

Number 2 goes in a totally different direction.

If, and that is a big if to me because it has not been proven, and a lawyer and a pi on tv (remember the cowboy) saying they have evidence is not proof, that ron is an abusive father and has killed his daughter during and abuse event. This would explain the scared look on his new wifey's face. I cringe to call her a wife but that is the only word that comes to mind that I can use. As we all know, people will either outright lie or simply shade the truth in legal battles of all types. Be it a custody battle or a criminal case. I am not saying he isn't abusive, I am just saying that it has not been proven. His first "squeeze" said she was abused. It should have been reported. It should have been stopped. I hate to say this but there is a rule I adhere to, "nobody ever abused/raped a .38/.357. For goodnes sake, protect yourself and your children. If a man abuses you, he will abuse his children.

While listening to Crystal's lawyer and NG go at it, I was waiting for the answer they never mentioned and that is, Jr's safety. Crystals lawyer is not going to let NG play prosecutor on national TV, eh? LOL! Good on her!

After the commercial I saw NG actually half ***** apologise, as well she should have. It was her whole show kaput, if they walked off. That lawyer wasn't going to be guest turned victim and I surmise she told her so during the break.

From yesterday's Prime News he seems to be giving Misty a bit of a break because she seemed at ease when he approached her, but I'm still not getting a clear idea of what went on that night. Some of the details that she has spoken to the media are diametrically opposed to other details. There has to be a explanation for that, whether is something as simple as drug and/or alcohol use, or something malevolent like being a party to a crime.

You got it Yenta! I agree, and though I know Crystal is no Harvard Grad, I get that her lawyer is going to use the "Abuse Excuse" for a lot of her explanations. If she is capable of lying to that degree where she falsely accused a co worker of stealing her car, then... but yet again, she claims she called DCF on Ron when she saw bruises on the kids. There had to be records kept for those calls, right?

The problem I'm having is, If she saw the kids bruised, why didn't she file for custody then? I guess she was unable to afford counsel or she was still terrified of Ron.

In any case, Jr needs another home. My hope is that all eyes are on Ron now, so the kid will be safe.

We still don't have an exact timeline, but Lodi's above post sent a chill through me. It seems that Misti and etc. would possibly try to hide this from Ron because of fear and it would "turn her world upside down." On the interview on NG last night, she (Misti) was so rehearsed and rarely ever made eye contact with the interviewer. If she was ran over or hurt outside, I am sure the neighbors would probably have seen or heard something, unless it's possible they could fear Ron too. jmo :confused:

SATSUMA, Fla. -- The father of a missing Putnam County girl has obtained legal counsel.

According to a news release issued by the personal injury firm, the law office of Kimball & Snider has agreed to represent Ronald Cummings as a pro bono client.

The release refers to Cummings as a victim in need of legal advice.

Cummings' five-year-old daughter, Haleigh, was reported missing from her Satsuma home in February.

Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, recently hired a lawyer as well. Her lawyer has accused Cummings of abusing the couple's son, Ronald Cummings Jr.

Cummings' lawyers will take over responsibility for assisting Cummings with police cooperation, coordinating media attention and handling a potential custody battle with Sheffield.

The news release describes Sheffield's lawyer's abuse allegations as "unsubstantiated" and said that Cummings sees the claims as a "cheap shot and publicity stunt that detracts from the search for Haleigh."

Kimball & Snider will not be representing Cummings' new wife, Misty Croslin.

I do remember the part about the blanket that Haleigh I guess normally used was in "the van" and lots of us were trying to figure out what van--I guess it would be that one? So, the relative staying--with Ron and Misti? With Misti's folks? took the van and left the house for the night? I KNOW Misti had talked about the van leaving, so why would she be surprised when it was in a different place, or parked differently? I just always assumed it was that someone had been there that drove a van, and they left, and Haleigh's blanket was in that van.

Thanks for the link, JLette. I couldn't figure out the exemption thing--especially related to corporal punishment. Found this late in the article:

"Corporal discipline of a child by a parent, legal custodian, or caregiver for disciplinary purposes does not in itself constitute abuse when it does not result in harm to the child."

Well, that would cover the swat to the diapered behind so many people complain about. I wonder how so many kids get removed from their homes based on "spanking?"

AND--for some time now, there has been SOOOO much emphasis placed on "self-esteem" and the little "psyche" of kiddlies in relation to discipline and punishment. So, hitting your child on the leg with a stick, as long as it does not "harm" her is okay? Maybe physically, but what about emotionally, mentally? So, if I were raising my kids in FL, I COULD spank them as I deemed necessary, as long as there is no physical signs of injury? Hmmmm. Of course, the few spankings I ever gave my kids (and there are plenty of folks who feel I did not spank ENOUGH) never left a bruise or a hand mark or anything.

And, looking @ this statute, it very well could be that Ronald Cummings WAS told he could spank his children.

Wonder if anyone is going to take on Misti? Seems to me that she is the one right now most in need of having a lawyer. Of course, she insists an innocent person doesn't NEED a lawyer. I do beg to differ, cuz the lawyers of other persons can make mincemeat out of even an innocent person--especially if the lawyer's client is guilty of something and wants to put the blame on someone else.

It sounds to me like Picazio feels that she has bona fide reports of abuse and/or corroboration of previously unsubstantiated abuse. It will be interesting to learn (NOT that we will) if the dates of concerned neighbors' reports of abuse match up to the photos that Crystal took previously and coincide with the dates of her previous calls to DCF:

Well, that would cover the swat to the diapered behind so many people complain about. I wonder how so many kids get removed from their homes based on "spanking?"

AND--for some time now, there has been SOOOO much emphasis placed on "self-esteem" and the little "psyche" of kiddlies in relation to discipline and punishment. So, hitting your child on the leg with a stick, as long as it does not "harm" her is okay? Maybe physically, but what about emotionally, mentally? So, if I were raising my kids in FL, I COULD spank them as I deemed necessary, as long as there is no physical signs of injury? Hmmmm. Of course, the few spankings I ever gave my kids (and there are plenty of folks who feel I did not spank ENOUGH) never left a bruise or a hand mark or anything.

And, looking @ this statute, it very well could be that Ronald Cummings WAS told he could spank his children.

In his own words, he has said that he spanks Haleigh the way that DCF told him was appropriate. If spanking was discussed in the course of a parenting course, I might go along with DCF, BUT if this lesson in corporal punishment was in respect to a charge of abuse, DCF would have been better off to teach Cummings about discipline alternatives.

It's difficult to prove emotional harm, but physical harm is an injury that has a lifetime. A bruise for instance that is deep enough or severe enough to date according to changes in coloration. If a child is hit with a stick and leaves a welt that can be observed some time later, I would think that would qualify as an injury. WTF uses a weapon to hit his kids in this day and age of our "civilized" world?

A seventeen year old can marry a 25 year old with parental permission, but according to FL law, it is a felony for that adult with an eight year age difference to engage in sexual relations with a seventeen year old.

According to Mike Brooks' understanding of the timeline: Haleigh fell on the 6th and was taken to the hospital. There was no black eye at that time. Haleigh was taken back to the hospital on the 12th and the cuts were still visible, healing is in progress, and the black eyes are now visible, a CAT scan is done to check for head injury. On the 16th "it" is starting to lighten up and maybe Haleigh has picked at the scabs so they're not healing up. Mike wants to see grab marks on Junior. Ron is a strict disciplinarian.

Mark Klaas: Misty's inconsistencies and the character assassination against Ron are diverting resources away from finding out what happened to Haleigh. Focus is in the wrong direction. Pfft Focusing on Junior's safety is not going in the wrong direction IMO.

Well, Haleigh was afraid of the dark and refused to sleep in her room and was likely to be barren as a result of her Turner's Syndrome condition. And *gasp* can Cummings handle being the parent of a girl child who can't give birth at age seventeen or eighteen?

Always, always, ALWAYS err on the side of the child and let the experts suss it out. However, it may be that the experts in Putnam County aren't capable. Always, always, ALWAYS err on the side of the child and let the experts suss it out. However, it may be that the experts in Putnam County aren't capable. It would probably be a good idea at this point if Florida State Police look at past and present allegations of abuse and how they were investigated and unsubstantiated.

You got it right, Errin. E-coli, stick marks, near drowning, black-eyes, terrified of the dark and won't sleep in her own room, (I bet she has night terrors and possible wets the bed too). Accidents? I doubt it. Trauma due to abuse, I bet on it. JMO. I don't have any proof, but I can guess that Misty (surrogate 17 yr. old mommy) has used corporal punishment on these kids too. Ronnie's family is sticking by his side because NONE of these yahoos understand the difference between disciplining a child and physically punishing a child. I'm completely confuzzled why there wasn't one appointed during the first custody brouhaha. (I'm also confuzzled as to why the first custody battle didn't end up as joint/split/shared custody. Allow me to start with the fact that Doctors, nurses, and teachers are also required by law to report abuse in Florida. Having said that, I can remember standing toe to toe with a doctor in Florida in an emergency room and him swearing up and down that what I saw wasn't abuse, because he didn't want to have to do the paper work.

Some principles are the same way in the schools there. Many, many children fall thru the cracks.

I haven't looked at the pictures other than what has been run on NG but I can bet you that if I saw Haleigh looking like that especially a week after a supposed fall from the monkey bars, I would be screaming at someone about her being abused.

Just a little something that I remember from early on in this case. Ron was scheduled for a court hearing prior to Haleigh going missing for Haleigh missing so much school. The hearing didn't happen because Haleigh came up missing.

Maybe we are going to find out that Ron was the lessor of the two evils? I'm not defending the animal (Ron) but I wonder why Crystal missed 12 doctor's appointments. Her lawyer thinks having no car is a good excuse.

Could it be poor planning or just irresponsibility? Not showing up for the custody hearings didn't help her case either. How much can we blame on her abusive relationship with Ron? She had the guts to leave the SOB, she knew he was an abusive husband and father. I would have fought a little harder.

My mother, well into her 80's never drove, and her favorite pass time was going to the doctor. She found ways.

Ah, I'm glad you noticed her responses were odd. She does cry, and my heart goes out to her. I'm sure some people are not hysterical types, but she lived mainly without those kids for a few years, and could be detached to some degree. But I'm not going to judge her. She might just be a quiet type. She could also be on sedatives. Dr's pass those out like candy when there patients are in bad shape emotionally.

I come from a tribe of "Crisis Contractors." When things get too quiet, my relatives cause a problem so they can exercise their hysteria. They want the corner on suffering. I Agree there is a numbness. Yes. And yes, people are used to hysteria in situations like this. There is no way to know unless grief hits a life, exactly how it works any particular person. Watching this case unravel, I keep getting the feeling that we are going to be very surprised at the end of it. I can't put my finger on it, so for now I'm looking at Crystal. That other bubble head (Misty) is a dead end. I wouldn't even leave her alone without a baby sitter.

When I read the court documents early on, I concluded that the judge did consider Cummings to be the lesser of two evils; but frequently when a judge is faced with that decision, the outcome is joint custody. That may not have been practical here simply because Crystal didn't drive at the time.

As for Ron's abusive nature, Crystal has stated that he was abusive to her, not the children, because they were under her "jurisdiction" while they were together. It's very possible that the strain of caring for the two little ones is what precipitated the abuse/neglect toward Haleigh and Junior.

NA, my sister was diagnosed with ADHD/ADD in her forties too. She does take medication off and on and it has really helped her personally. She never seemed to have problems focusing on school or work tasks for some reason. Her degree is biology, and it's amazing after all these years that she can still rattle off so much Latin terminology!

BUT the record also shows that she was present for five days, which means that she was absent once. I think LE has confirmed that she was present at school on the 9th.

I spoke with bondsman/bounty hunter William "Cobra" Staubs about his findings in his first week on the ground in Satsuma in the search for Haleigh Cummings.

Staubs, who prefers to go by "Cobra," is a bondsman taking this case pro bono. He's a self-proclaimed hillbilly who says he's not been hired by any party involved.

Cobra told me Thursday afternoon about a re-enactment he tried to arrange with Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings and his teen bride, Misty.

Misty was the last person to see the girl before she disappeared February 9th in the middle of the night.

The Law Office of Kimball & Snider, P.A. has agreed, after first meeting with Ronald Cummings on March 18, 2009, to represent Ronald Cummings, the father of Haleigh Cummings, on a pro bono basis. As a victim, Ronald Cummings needs and deserves legal advice and assistance in his quest for the safe return of his daughter, Haleigh Cummings.

1. The Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will assist Ronald Cummings in his continuing cooperation with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and all other police agencies in their investigation into Haleigh’s disappearance.

2. The Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will coordinate media attention directed to Ronald Cummings regarding his daughter’s disappearance. While publicity is a definite asset in the search for Haleigh, Ronald Cummings cannot handle all the various requests for his time that the media and the public are seeking, and access will be very limited.

I spoke with bondsman/bounty hunter William "Cobra" Staubs about his findings in his first week on the ground in Satsuma in the search for Haleigh Cummings.

Staubs, who prefers to go by "Cobra," is a bondsman taking this case pro bono. He's a self-proclaimed hillbilly who says he's not been hired by any party involved.

Cobra told me Thursday afternoon about a re-enactment he tried to arrange with Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings and his teen bride, Misty.

Misty was the last person to see the girl before she disappeared February 9th in the middle of the night.

Ronald Cummings Gets a Lawyer

The Law Office of Kimball & Snider, P.A. has agreed, after first meeting with Ronald Cummings on March 18, 2009, to represent Ronald Cummings, the father of Haleigh Cummings, on a pro bono basis. As a victim, Ronald Cummings needs and deserves legal advice and assistance in his quest for the safe return of his daughter, Haleigh Cummings.

1. The Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will assist Ronald Cummings in his continuing cooperation with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and all other police agencies in their investigation into Haleigh’s disappearance.

2. The Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will coordinate media attention directed to Ronald Cummings regarding his daughter’s disappearance. While publicity is a definite asset in the search for Haleigh, Ronald Cummings cannot handle all the various requests for his time that the media and the public are seeking, and access will be very limited.

3. That the Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will handle any other appropriate matters relating to Ronald Cummings’ best interests, including matters related to Haleigh’s biological mother Crystal Sheffield, who has recently retained legal counsel regarding a possible custody challenge involving Ronald Cummings Jr. The attorney and mother have appeared on national television to make unsubstantiated claims that Ronald Cummings sees as a “cheap shot” and publicity stunt that detracts from the search for Haleigh. The mother was previously denied custody in court and allegations of abuse against Ronald were judicially dismissed.

4. That Ronald Cummings stands behind his wife, Misty, and supports her 100%. The law office of Kimball & Snider, P.A. has decided it is best to only represent Ronald and not Misty, because of their different respective legal positions.

So I think its possible that LE has zero idea who was sleeping where and with whom.

Don't think the bed would squeak, but I do think the couch would, and it's possible that Misty left the house to find Greg, they came back to play a quick game of Bouncy Couch and possibly fell asleep. Maybe they didn't wake up until right before or right when Ron got home and Misty saw that Haleigh was missing, grabbed the phone to call Ron, and ran out on the front porch to distract him from seeing Greg go out the back. Maybe while Misty and Greg were screwing around, someone came in the back door that Misty had left propped open and grabbed Haleigh. Someone who knew that Misty and Greg were in the house. Someone who had a grudge against Ron.

Or maybe Misty was with Mr. X on the couch and he left her sleeping in the afterglow of Boucy Couch and he grabbed Haleigh on his way out the door.

I find it hard to believe that Cummings married Misty to keep her close ALA the old enemies adage. But I do think it's possible that he has serious doubts about her now.

Our SW makes home visits, too....Our kids come to school as it is seen as neglect unless it is medically related. I wouldn't leave my dog with any of this pathetic family---everyone let Haleigh down. She missed half the school days in November. We know that some of that was excused by the doc because of the E coli, but I think one of the days that he wrote an excuse for was actually a Saturday (15th). The school should have reported Cummings to DCF (DFC?) for excessive absenteeism, and maybe they did, and maybe that's the hearing that hasn't been held.

im not sure because i live in california not florida, but HERE at least you only cannot have a gun if you are CONVICTED of something before you lose your ability to legally own a weapon.

RE: Ronald having a gun; only he and the courts know the story of Cummings' arrests and subsequent penalties which may or may not preclude him from being in possession of a firearm. At any rate, I hope LE and the magistrate are aware that Junior is not in a safe environment if Cummings is threatening to shove a gun down Misty's throat. Hasn't the boys life been in enough turmoil without the possibility of a murder in the offing? If his statements can be proved, there needs to be an emergency custody hearing and Junior needs to be removed. Far removed. Not relative placement.

Ronald Cummings Gets a Lawyer

The Law Office of Kimball & Snider, P.A. has agreed, after first meeting with Ronald Cummings on March 18, 2009, to represent Ronald Cummings, the father of Haleigh Cummings, on a pro bono basis. As a victim, Ronald Cummings needs and deserves legal advice and assistance in his quest for the safe return of his daughter, Haleigh Cummings.

1. The Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will assist Ronald Cummings in his continuing cooperation with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and all other police agencies in their investigation into Haleigh’s disappearance.

2. The Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will coordinate media attention directed to Ronald Cummings regarding his daughter’s disappearance. While publicity is a definite asset in the search for Haleigh, Ronald Cummings cannot handle all the various requests for his time that the media and the public are seeking, and access will be very limited.

3. That the Law Office of Kimball & Snider P.A. will handle any other appropriate matters relating to Ronald Cummings’ best interests, including matters related to Haleigh’s biological mother Crystal Sheffield, who has recently retained legal counsel regarding a possible custody challenge involving Ronald Cummings Jr. The attorney and mother have appeared on national television to make unsubstantiated claims that Ronald Cummings sees as a “cheap shot” and publicity stunt that detracts from the search for Haleigh. The mother was previously denied custody in court and allegations of abuse against Ronald were judicially dismissed.

4. That Ronald Cummings stands behind his wife, Misty, and supports her 100%. The law office of Kimball & Snider, P.A. has decided it is best to only represent Ronald and not Misty, because of their different respective legal positions.

All that makes me think their statement about they have wanted to get married for "a long time" (yeah, 5 months knowing each other is a long time :chicken:) isn't quite truthful. If Misti is screwing around w/another man, it doesn't sound like SHE is ready to settle down. Not sure Amy, but Crystal had applied for a restraining order that was either denied, or she withdrew the request.

I'm still not sure that Ron is smart (or dumb) enough to marry Misty just to keep her under surveillance, not to mention that that would give her reason to go after him in court in case of a divorce, and will certainly not help his custody arrangement.

What I get from Cobra's synopsis, is that Greg is black but maybe has a nickname "Whiteboy" or something. (Very metrosexual sounding if you ask me.)

Now, in one of Misty's renditions, Haleigh is sleeping in front of the TV, and she has said that she had one child in the BR and the other in the LR because they couldn't agree on which movie to watch. And in one interview she said that Junior was up and she blacked out (so tired from the long weekend and all) and that's all she remembers. So I think its possible that LE has zero idea who was sleeping where and with whom.

Don't think the bed would squeak, but I do think the couch would, and it's possible that Misty left the house to find Greg, they came back to play a quick game of Bouncy Couch and possibly fell asleep. Maybe they didn't wake up until right before or right when Ron got home and Misty saw that Haleigh was missing, grabbed the phone to call Ron, and ran out on the front porch to distract him from seeing Greg go out the back. Maybe while Misty and Greg were screwing around, someone came in the back door that Misty had left propped open and grabbed Haleigh. Someone who knew that Misty and Greg were in the house. Someone who had a grudge against Ron.

Or maybe Misty was with Mr. X on the couch and he left her sleeping in the afterglow of Boucy Couch and he grabbed Haleigh on his way out the door.

I find it hard to believe that Cummings married Misty to keep her close ALA the old enemies adage. But I do think it's possible that he has serious doubts about her now.

If he knew she was screwing around with Whiteboy George in the very recent past--I would think he would have already had those "serious doubts" prior to the marriage.

Haleigh missed 31 days this school year? At our school the SW would have been all over that....We expect a reason why the child is not in school; must have a note and 31 days would be very serious and would need medical documentation. Our SW makes home visits, too....Our kids come to school as it is seen as neglect unless it is medically related. I wouldn't leave my dog with any of this pathetic family---everyone let Haleigh down. I might be reading the absentee report wrong, but the absences are marked E and U, which I take to mean excused and unexcused. Many of the absences are unexcused it that's the case, including several of those in November when the playground accident and the E coli occurred.

I saw that! I think Mark Klass may be permanently damaged by his own experience. WTH?! I just FFed through that entire recording and it was some guy named Greg along with Ann Coulter (GAG!!!) doing the Red Eye show. Didn't see Geraldo, or KGuilfoyle or Crystal or Marie or learn anything. Read on another board that Crystal gave Amber's name, and I looked it up to see if she had anything on the civil court docket, but nada. So maybe she is independently wealthy. But at some point she must have had something to do with Cummings (other than the obvious), because that's supposedly how Misty met him (while babysitting).

That said, I can fully understand why Picazio hasn't filed a petition for emergency change of custody until the child abuse allegations are investigated (and if I'm understanding, there is now independent corroboration), but what I don't understand is why Team Crystal doesn't go into court with an affidavit from Cobra stating that Cummings has in essence threatened to murder Misty. Junior doesn't need to be exposed to this type of violent drama on top of everything else. Period.

And speaking of Junior, I'm not sure that he would have categorized Whiteboy Greg as a black man; he appears light-skinned to me. I'm leaning toward the idea that Ron and Misty don't know what happened to Haleigh. From what i've seen, Ron appears to really love Haleigh and wouldn't have just got rid of her. If he was at work during that period of time and had no part in her disappearance, what else can he be expected to say when questioned other than "I don't know, I was at work."

As for Misty, LE interrogators have many methods of getting answers out of a suspect. This may be the cause of Mistys' different stories.

Detectives often have a level of overconfidence in their initial judgement and begin the interrogation with a presumption of guilt. After the suspect (Misty) relates what she remembers, the detective will suggest that she possibly repressed her memory and is leaving things out. He will ask her to start over and tell what actually happened. He will tell her that the evidence doesn't bear out what she's telling him. A suspect will often add or subtract details because they think it's what the detective wants.

In later interrogations, the suspect is told that LE has received information that could free some blame from her. What happened could have been unintentional. Immunity is possible if she goes along with them.

I will be very surprised if she was involved in this.

Cobra's idea to reenact whatever happened was a good one, but I think he let too much time go by between presenting the idea and actually trying to get it underway. Was just thinking while I did my outside chores and exposed myself to every allergen known to mankind, it seems like Cummings went on the night shift and rented the trailer at about the same time. That makes me wonder if the reason for moving out of Mrs. Neves' place was so that Misty would have to stay home and watch the kids and play mommy. Otherwise, Ron would be out slaving away, earning an honest living and she would be free to fool around with Whiteboy Greg. He wasn't so much as leaving her in charge of the kids as he was using the kids to tie her down.

Do we have a timeline of where Haleigh was prior to the night she disappeared. How do we know she was actually in the trailer and at what time? Do we have any credible witness who saw Haleigh that day. I know the truth is a foreign concept in this case but I wonder just when Haleigh went missing...Could she have gone missing before Ron went to work? He always says he was at work but do we know for sure it happened then. He says that a lot and has made me suspicioius. The screen door said to be propped open-how could Misty have observed that? Did she give any explanation. I noticed when the reporter opened the inside door it did not stay open by itself. It slowly closed over. Ron claims he locked it. Did she claim to have opened the back door upon discovering Haleigh missing? I could have sworn i read that when she got up to the bathroom she observed the screen door propped open????

i thought it was the back door itself, not the screen door, that was propped open. which Ron and Misti BOTH said that back door is ALWAYS locked with the deadbolt because it doesn't close correctly and pops open all the time. :shrug:

Dick Shauland told Mike Galanos (Prime Time News/HLN) that Haleigh was last seen by neighbors the afternoon before she disappeared that night. Mrs. Sykes supposedly went by around 7:30, but I've never heard LE verify that as true. I believe Ron's shift is 4:30pm - 3am, and I believe the sighting was after he had gone to work.

It took me a while to understand this too, because it would be impossible to notice the screen if the wooden door was closed, but voila! NG's producer made me understand. The back screen was propped open with the cinder block, and the wooden door (with the self-closing device) was apparently prevented from closing because of the piles of laundry on the floor.

i don't know, but i think she lives in florida,or did during the hurricane, a few years ago , so every time there is a case like this,in florida,i am scared that she may become misty's attorney.

Watching NG, but running a little behind. Something just stood out to me in the Art Harris video. Misty says that she put Haleigh to bed at 8pm and was doing the laundry, and that H had been asleep about thirty minutes when she covered her with the blanket. Then she made the bed and crawled in. But we've heard that she didn't go to bed until 10pm or so. That's a whole nuther story. Or does she mean that Haleigh went to bed at eight but didn't go to sleep for almost two hours? So much for it being a school night.

I agree she's hiding something but I don't believe intelligent, adult Law enforcement officers are going to be duped by the likes of that bubblehead. She might have the earmarkings of a socio, but she's too young to be a seasoned one. They will catch her around every corner. The way I understood it was Jr. was in the living room watching a movie. Then when it was over, he came in the bedroom. Misty said in one interview, "he got in bed with US". This would have been about 10 or 10:30 as "Madagascar" runs about 2 hours.
