Jay Kylee Bain, 37, who worked as an English teacher in the La Mesa-Spring Valley School District pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to possession of child pornography (http://www.teachercrimes.com/?p=702), officials announced.
Bain admitted having more than 600 images of child pornography, including an image of a nude girl about 4-5 years old.
In the complaint, federal prosecutors included transcripts of e-mails sent in 2005 in which Bain sent graphic photos of himself (http://www.teachercrimes.com/?p=702) to a former seventh-grade student. Bain resigned from teaching in May 2007 while an investigation was under way.
He faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine at a sentencing hearing scheduled for May 8.
