Jamal Butler, 30, the he former band director at Southern High School in Durham, North Carolina has reportedly been charged with two counts of sexual activity (http://www.teachercrimes.com/?p=1656)between school personnel and a student.
Butler allegedly “engaged in vaginal intercourse” with two 16-year-old female students between July 1 and Jan. 8, according to arrest warrants (http://www.teachercrimes.com/?p=1656).
School officials conducted an investigation along with police after allegations were made, said Michael Yarbrough, Durham Public Schools spokesman.
Butler, who became Southern’s band teacher in August 2007, resigned Jan. 29, Yarbrough said.
