I wonder how Casey enjoyed her 2nd Xmas behind the walls! I can't imagine spending Xmas in prison, I think that would be worse than being homeless ,at least you are free and freedom is the most important thing we all can have. We are free to get up and go to bed when we want, eat when we want, have a job, children, go out socially and in prison the system dictates your every move and seeing as this b!tch did not ever listen to anyone but herself, she is not going to have it easy. Now there have been no mention of her getting in trouble at the county jail and that is due in part that she is isolated from other inmates and if she does get a death sentence then she will be isolated till the day she is executed, but if she does get LWPOP she would be in gen pop and probably will be the most hated inmate in the joint. She has no idea what she is facing and Bozo, I am sure has her convinced she is going home and if that is the case, he is doing a serious misjustice to her because there is no way in hell she is going home EVER. I wish the trial would start already, it has been over a year now and time to get this party started. You know we often discuss about how families get justice for their loved ones, but I can't muster up anything besides contempt for C&G, the justice alone will be for Caylee and not them. They created the monster they stand behind and live in this world of denial and have sold their precious grandchild for many pieces of silver, upwards of a half a million in appearances as they won't unless they get paid and why do the networks even bother with them, all they do is sing the same old song and it beyond lame, but Cindy is a camerawhore and needs her fix and she CONTACTS them!!! I found out this tidbit on line about how she contacted CBS Morning and only agreed to go on the show if they got paid and the stupid network did her bidding and they got $25,000 to appear for 15 freaking minutes singing the same old crap about how innocent Casey is and how they stand behind her and not much was mentioned about Caylee, it was all about them and their feelings and that skank daughter of theirs. SO I do hope they had a rotten holiday today, all of them, they don't deserve any happiness at all and especially Casey, I hope she choked on her turkey dinner!!

The "big storm" never did make it here. Not that I am complaining, you understand!!! Not at ALL!!!! Yesterday on the way to work, the guy on the radio was telling about snow-packed and icy roads north and west of here, lightly snow-packed and icy east and south. He was talking about right outside of town, and there was absolutely NO snow from my house until I got into town, and just a few flakes. I haven't really looked @ maps and such, nor caught the news to see who really got snow to speak of around here. Central KS did seem to get hit--and in the predictions, they weren't supposed to get much @ all.
Got my money today, took the kids shopping. Now, I knew that the gift each had chosen would be @ least $500, and I did have the funds. But I'm telling you, when the register totaled our purchases, the butterflies in my tummy were going nuts!!!! I am so excited about being able to get them something CURRENT--altho I did tell them not to expect this every year, lol. For years, if their gift was a game system (well, we only did that 2 years) it was the "old" system, I could only afford them when the price plummeted because there was a new system available. And then, they had to share it!!!
That's great Amy! I totally understand about the "current" thing! I was always grateful for what I got, and I know your kids have been, but wow, to get something that's "new" for them...that's cool!
Merry Christmas!
I was @ work this am, had to work til 1. Started getting texts--Daddy had fallen in the nursing home and was in the local ER. Broke his other dang hip, he did!!! So, they transfered him up here where I work. I tho't it was going to be several hours, and went outside for a break and found that county's ambulance in the bay. He was up there alone. thank goodness we are VERY, VERY slow in Maternal Child, didn't even have any labors waiting in the wings. So I stayed w/him for about an hour when little sis brought Mom up.
Surgery in the am. @ least whatever they are giving him this time is keeping the pain @ bay, and he slept most of the day. But was quite alert when he was awake. We know what to expect now, and know we have to keep rein on Mom, get her out of there when things get stressful.
They had spent only 2 weeks (about) in the senior apartments they waited so long to get into when Daddy fell last time and doc says they had to go to the nursing home. They were in different rooms until about a week ago. They finally got in a room together, and now he will be out about 2 weeks. I don't know the amount of time the room will be saved for them. But I think, when he goes back to the local hospital for swing bed care, we can tell Mom she will have to spend the nights in the nursing home, or they might lose their space, and have to wait again for a room together. The hospital staff will appreciate that. They demanded one of us stay the night @ the hospital if Mom stayed--cuz she would bother Daddy, get angry @ the nurses, and wander.
Mom thinks they will go back to the other nursing home for rehab--and that ain't gonna happen!!!! Their idea of "intensive rehab" sure didn't meet our expectations!!! The local nursing home has the equipment and will be able to do his therapy. The only reason he went to the other one was a Medicare thing, he had to be listed for intensive rehab and that was the only local nursing home that qualified.
On the upside, in their dementia, they seem to have forgotten the ordeal this was the last time. "It wasn't too bad." UGH. And, they have kept their sense of humor---they said it's a good thing he only has 2 hips, so this shouldn't happen again!!!! Of course, Mom has 2 hips--only I won't say that out loud!!!!

I understand that Marian... yep. I've experienced it with my own mother. It's hard to see a mother go from a brilliant, strong woman to a child. Very hard to accept and deal with. One day it could happen to me. If it does happen to me, I hope my children are strong then. I hope they know enough to step into my world and not argue with it. But mostly I hope they don't try to take care of me. I want 24 hour attendees and external stimulation. I don't want to be stuck in a bedroom in one of their houses, lonely, bored, and making them crazy.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a wonderful time with friends and family.
Someone sent me a video clip of Santa and I'm still laughing. It's fun to see other family events.
A short story on my oddball mensa niece. She is 25 and lives with her parents. Before leaving my parents' house my brother asked her if she had to use the bathroom before they leave. She said no. His response was "Don't tell me when we're driving home that you have to go. THEY LIVE ONE MILE FROM MY PARENTS!!!!!!!! My mother was the last hold out to admit that they are all weird. She is now on the same page as the rest of us and realizes that the three of them could be from a Stephen King novel.....http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-shocked019.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

I'm happy everyone had a good Christmas! :) All is well in nawnyville. Now, for New Years Eve.. lol! We're going out to eat early as usual, Federal Hill at Constantinos. We should be home by 7:00pm before all the amateurs get out on the roads. We don't have to weeble sit this year because the parents are gathering at my oldest daughter's house and they're letting the weebs make their own pizza and ice cream sunday's. We were invited but I Dont want to be a witness to that disaster. :) I just want to get on my couch in my flannels and watch movies.

At a time like this you have great courage and stanima.....sara
Thank you all for you kind words. It helps to have a place to put my wandering tho'ts and feelings.
Daddy made it thru surgery just fine, now we all just have to make it thru Mom's irrationality. We tho't, we've been here before, we know what to expect, know what mistakes we made (and surely won't repeat!!!) but, no. Mom has to throw a new stick in the machinery. Maybe I should borrow some of those pills some of my sisters are taking, cuz I sure wasn't able to sit and smile thru Mom's oppositional attitude today.
Thankfully, Sis #1 and #5 came to relieve me (#3) and #6 about 6 pm. They will be here til sometime tomorrow afternoon. Sis #2 was here for a couple of hours. Sis #4 is snowed in, in MO. So, tomorrow night and Monday, me and my kids will be keeping track of Mom so the nurses can take care of Daddy.
DD and I work, so DS will have to park his keister @ the hospital til DD gets off work. Hopefully, Sis #2 will make it back over and relieve him. He says, he can take care of Pop-pop (who just smiles and nods his head, would be napping, etc.) but he's not sure how to deal w/Grandma. I told him, I'd be right there in the building, and if problems came up, my co-workers would let me take a few minutes to check things out. My co-workers are good to do things like that. We might not always agree or even like each other much, but when one of us is needing time to take care of family problems, everyone pitches in to see that they get the time.
Glad to see everyone had a nice Christmas!!! I work part of the New Year, either the eve or the day, but don't remember which. I haven't done anything on New Year's for years that I would need the eve off to party, nor the day off to recover!!! Watching the ball bounce on tv @ 11pm our time is about as far as I go!!!! And, step outside @ MN to hear all the illegal fireworks popping!!!! ;)

You're a great family during this time. It reminds me of the years we spent taking care of my parents. A good point; everyone doesn't like each other all the time, but we love each other every day and crisis brought us together every time. There is a lot to be said for big families.
Two days before Christmas, my SIL's aunt fell in her bathroom (being unbalanced after a stroke last year) and hit her head so hard, she died. We all stepped up to help the family. It was sad to see my SIL so down though we all proceeded with Christmas for the kids sake.
I'll be doing the cooking for the memorial on Tuesday in a rented hall. My daughter said, "I feel so bad for them, dammit, why can't those people catch a break?" And I remembered the years when my family couldn't catch a break and all the weeks and months we spent in hospital rooms, corridors, lobbies. It's like we all must endure those seasons at some time or other. All we can do is the best we can do. But we never walk away without more wisdom, empathy and strength. (Though it doesn't matter much when we're in the thick of sorrow)
Family becomes more beautiful as we invest ourselves into the theme itself and that equity is what your mom and dad are getting now. They sound like two very great parents. Your mom's angst must be part of the confusion and I'm so sorry you and yours are feeling so frustrated. I hear ya about the pills. ;) When my parents were spent and we almost lived in the hospital, one of my sisters did wine. I have to fill in the details via hindsight.
Sending prayers. :rose:

Amy, I feel bad for you kiddo, but you seem like a strong person who has just got a lot on her plate right now and my prayers are with you. As for my Xmas, I had a good one, Xmas day we got freezing rain so I opted to stay home and wait till yesterday to bring my god-son's presents to him and he dug them all, he got his PS-3 that he wanted and the damm thing even has WI-FI on it! How come we didn't have toys like this when we were kids? I remember being totally stoked when I got an Easy Bake Oven and a transistor radio!!!! This kid not only gets the PS, but tons of clothes and video games, a Nerf gun and a Blue Ray!!! But he deserves it because he doesn't ask for much, his parents have been pretty poor for the last year and only because they raise huskies were they able to buy him the presents, they had a total of 16 puppies and sold them all in a week! Now I sent my sister in Jersey a gift card and my sister here has to work till New Year's eve so I am going over that day to exchange gifts and hang out, then I am going to a party and I do plan on a few cocktails, with the Lap, you can't drink beer, but I haven't in years anyway and all I plan on having is a few vodka tonics with lime.
can't believe it is going to be 2010 already, it seemed like this decade went pretty fast and some of mine was not good, but since I have lived in MI my life has been better and I do not ever plan on living in New England again, with my arthritis, I am contemplating moving to a warmer climate and I have set my sights on Hawaii, but I will wait till I graduate from college first before I move despite the pain I am in every day. I have a year to go and I have my degree and all good things come to people who wait. I have managed to keep the cats out of the tree with the squirt bottle as all those shiny things are a cat's dream come true. Both of them have their own ornaments now so I don't mind if they play with them, I was worried about my antique ones as I put those on the top of the tree, but they have not tried to climb it, Thank God.
I wonder if the Ants sent Casey anything for Xmas???? I can't imagine being in jail or prison for life or on death row till they fry me. I watch those Lock-Up shows on MSNBC and you see such young men waiting to die or sitting in Ag Seg for life because they are so violent they can't be housed in gen pop and that is their whole life sitting in a cage with no creature comforts other than a thin mattress and a cheesy blanket, some prisons do allow them to have TV's, but some don't, so they do nothing but stare at walls. I saw an episode where two brothers from IA are doing LWPOP and both of these guys are so hot, and one is very intelligent, but stupid and shot a guy to death over a diss that was made at the other brother and now they are in for life, and they are in their 30's and it is such a waste, they pissed their lives away for someone calling them a name. Now Casey has done far worse, she murdered her own innocent child out of spite and she truly deserves the DP, she had many choices, starting with she could have never gotten pregnant at all had she used birth control and it ain't like there is not many forms, she could have had an abortion or given the child up for adoption, she was of age, she did not have to listen to that beast of a mother.
Now we all know that Cindy wanted that child and was not about to let her get rid of it and this was a bone of contention from day one when she held Caylee first when she was born and this is where the seeds of anger started, it festered in her like a plague and this is why she murdered Caylee to take her away from Cindy. Cindy did some major damage to Casey, but that does not excuse what she did by a long shot, but one can understand that Cindy calls all the shots in that family and no one dared defy her till Casey finally did. And the Ants KNOW that she did. So her whole existence will now be in a cage, locked up till the day she dies and I wonder if she even has any real remorse for what she did? I think those tears in court were angry ones, she did not like people hearing about her handi-work as potential jurists now know exactly how Caylee died and was tossed like so much trash in three bags and placed in the woods, there is not a jury in the land that is going to let this worthless excuse of a person get away with murder.

I think those tears in court were angry ones, she did not like people hearing about her handi-work as potential jurists now know exactly how Caylee died and was tossed like so much trash in three bags and placed in the woods, there is not a jury in the land that is going to let this worthless excuse of a person get away with murder.
Hey stranger! Missed your posts, and hoped you were well and happy ...:seeya:
So right about the liar! But as we will remember those three little words when we see people locked up - and they sum up life,, "It goes on" so as those with heart live to enjoy their freedom, she can cry all she wants eh!
Season's greetings to you and yours Wind!

Well, back in NC. I am beginning to hate this place. My sister spent Christmas in the hospital. Nothing serious. They thought it was but it wasn't. She went in with a fever of 103 but they got it under control pretty quick. It was a kidney probelm that was straightened out PDQ. He weebles wouldn't open their presents until she got home today. They absolutely refused. I thought that was pretty cool. I talked to her on the phone every day and you could tell she was much better each day. Today she called from the car going home to have Christmas.

Ah, how sweet!! 2 days is a long time for kiddlies to put Christmas off, for sure. Bless their hearts. Glad it was "just" a kidney problem and not more serious like H1N1. Altho kidney problems aren't something to sneeze @.
How much time do you have left in NC? Or, are all your projects there?

Glad your sis is recovered.. It's hard to deal with such things during the holidays (and always) and her weebles were very nice to wait. See? Even little weebles have more integrity than a grown up Casey A. Amazing!
Bless you and all of your family this holiday season and always. :)

About the end of Febuary or the first part of March. We are trying to get some work at the Nuke facility that they are going to build about 70 miles from my home. That would be drivable.
The thing that scared me and I was glad it wasn't was her heart. She had major, major heart surgery the day my son graduated from college. She was in surgery for almost 9 hours. She had a valve that was partially blocked by a growth and her heart was working so hard that the wall around the valve was seperating. She went to the small clinic in her home town with chest pains and was trying to talk the Dr. out of sending her to the large hospital in the next town. (the hospital she worked in as an operating room nurse) He daughter is a paramedic and was in the ambulance that was called to transport her. When my niece walked in and could see her monitor she told her mother to be quiet and get on the gurney. My sister said that when she heard that she shut up and got on the gurney. She said she could tell by the look on my niece's face it wasn't good. She has been fine since the surgery. My son, my wife and I went to see her the day after graduation, although she doesn't remember it. We went back about 3 days later when she would know we were there. My son ever took his degree so she could see proof that he graduated. She threatened us all with death if he didn't walk at graduation and we were not there to see it. Hee Hee, we were on the phone all through graduation making sure she was still alright. My BIL even was listening over the phone when my son's name was announced. He said he would tell her when she woke up so she wouldn't kill us.:D

The greatest message Michael Jackson ever wrote to the world... He was way ahead of his time, way more evolved for his time... that's what did him in.. IMO
I love seeing all the greats of my generation in this flick. The boss, Ray Charles, and especially well, all of them! Even Billy Joel!

I'm in shock. Remember the fancy wedding with the miniscule terrible food? Just found out that they paid $4,000 for the flowers alone. Those were the flower arrangements that were five feet tall from the table and all you could see were what looked like roots in a glass cylinder. The orchids, hydrangea and roses were so tall you didn't see them except from across the room. Four grand!

I hope not either for you and your families sake. Weather seems crazy everywhere. We were supposed to go to Michigan today to visit family. Postponed til Wednesday. Snowing and blowing today which made for some icy road conditions. Wednesday is supposed to be clear. My guy's are going to hit Cabela's as it's not far from my sister's. They luv Bass Pro, Cabela's and Gander Mountain.

All I want is to be happy in a quiet home. After being attacked by the subway, watching the family fights, freezing my keister off and losing my favorite hat in a wind tunnel, getting the full security business thanks to Mr. I-Can-Only-Destroy-My-Own-Gonads, and breaking my father-in-law's toilet, quietly sitting on my couch with a rum drink (or 20) is just fine.

I believe it! That's what mother's and father's work all their lives for; Weddings! lol! They are spending up to 100K for a six hour party these days. This past month I've heard two weddings we went to within the past two years ended up in divorce court. I want my money back!!!:punch:
Remember last year when we were invited to a wedding and Poppa was putting 100 dollars in the envelope and I stopped him and told him it wasn't enough? Well, they're not doing too well. He should have put ten bucks in the card along with the name and phone number of an attorney. Fongool!
I know a guy whose wife filed for a divorce before the photographer was paid off and he had a balance on the diamond to pay; nice guy too!

LOL!!!! Sure thing Bob! Often we need a vacation from our vacation. So whatteryatryin ta say? You like California? Welcome home child!
I'm cooking for and attending a memorial service today for a dear lady and I'm feeling my own mortality. She was about my age. It makes me love life more and more.. I am giving her eulogy and there is much to say to her life. I'm thinking of one of my favorite poems which is my take on death, but I'd rather be in a wind tunnel, lose my favorite hat, break a toilet and be on the couch with a rum drink, or some umbrella drink in the Caribbean.. Ques-ta Vita!
My favorite poem:
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well.

I don't know. (But I am glad they changed back, the new one was an inferior product, especially regarding icons.)
However, when it changed to the new format, when I came on to board, it brought me in on an April 09 page. Same thing happened just now. The same April 09 post. Go figure.

They are calling for snow flurries tomorrow. Maybe a short day. Won't hurt my feelings. I just hope it isn't like the "flurries" they called for at home in 1973. 27 inches later the "flurries" (really white out) stopped. Nothing moved for two weeks.

I have coyote too. The fox population is out of control. They are running all over the road. The dogs keep the fox and coyote out of the back yard but I have a bear that broke through the fence and the dogs chased it up a tree. When it came back down it was in a panic and broke through the fence in another spot to get out. DH was not pleased.

No, but all the things that made us so angry suddenly become so endearing and I would love to have to fix another hole in the wall that was clawed out. Once, my neighbor left a bag of cat food outside of my house for me to feed the strays. Mr. Gator smelled it and put a nice size (dinner platter size) hole in the dry wall next to the door. I learned to become very handy. Another time, my first day on a new job, he locked me out of the house at 6 a.m. I never leave my house again, even to get the newspaper, without my keys.
I'm smiling as I reminisce. :)

Icy cold here in Orlando. Yesterday morning, I had ice forming in a plastic container that was outside. I have the pipes to my house covered.
Tonight is supposed to be wicked. About 28 degrees. My frogs have died. I found one dead on the patio. I was hoping that it was just stunned from the cold, but I don't think so.
One of my disappearing posts from yesterday morning was about how I had to dig throughout the house to find my only coat. It is 24 years old and it still fits. I washed it and tried it on. I laughed when I saw the big Linda Evans "Dynasty" shoulders and sleeves. I look like some sort of comic hero with big muscles. Don't mess with me...I'm Shoulder Woman.

What was it that she told her parents she was eating that she had never eaten at home? Was it Mayonnaise? Remember the jail house visit where she said she missed the chilli or something? Anyway, she's lucky she's eating. Caylee isn't. :flamemad:
I better not get started on that putana or I'll be burning up the keyboard. She's such a waste product. :cuss:

LOL! I call them Florida WIMPS! :chicken: But they miss us up north so they come and steal our flannels. My sister hasn't stopped complaining about the snow for 2 days. She hates it! Born and raised here, she hates it! I tell her, oh boo hoo, you miss your bugs. ;) She drove up here and it took her ten hours to get out of Georgia. She said the traffic was over the top because of the flight issues and people are driving instead. I've driven to Fl and Georgia is a 4 hour bore.
She's staying with a friend tonight and will be back here to complain about the snow tomorrow. lol! She did cover her pool pipes back in Fl knowing there was a cold front due. Frogs are freezing to death there. :(
I'm fine with the cold - I hardly feel it. The other night, I woke up and my hand brushed my leg and my skin was ice cold. I thought maybe I died and I'm having an out of body experience because I didn't feel cold. My whole body was ice cold so I had to put on a blanket. I still am just wearing a sweater outside. It was 31 this morning. I had ice where there had been standing water. The only thing I hate about the cold is that it is harmful to the critters and the tropical plants.
My cats were very good children yesterday. I made them donate their comfy beds to the outside cats. They realized that they were more in need of them than they were and said "Mommy, lets give our beds to the poor children". Yeah, I'm a nut.

Haaaa-throw em in a snowbank anyhoo-just kidding LOL Yeah my sis and bil flew back to Boulder City Monday from their 2nd home in Michigan. They were here for bout a month for the holidays. She couldn't take the cold and i guess today was near 60 in Boulder City. I'd be in my shorts and T if it was 60.
I'm still in my shorts and T and it's 30. I have the heat set at 63 and I only have used a blanket once for about an hour and then started sweating and took it off.
This morning, I saw a young woman who looked like Nanuck of the North! She had on the hat that is fur lined and has those long flaps on the side, she had those ugglie boots, heavy gloves, a scarf and a parka. I had on my sweater, unbuttoned.
You won't believe what I heard on the radio this morning. It's supposed to be rainy this weekend. THEY ARE PREDICTING SNOW FLURRIES IN ORLANDO. :D

It's 29 here, "feels like" 22. I don't know why it would be so low, cuz the "wind" is only @ 6mph. I'm not sure how cold it was yesterday afternoon, but I did actually see probably 10 people with coats--none of them big coats, tho. I'm in a t and shorts. I must admit, I have throw around my legs, heater is on, @ 68.
We were supposed to get a winter storm today. Not a "winter" winter storm, whatever the heck that means. Nothing yet, but I'm not complaining. I did have to go to work yesterday, a baby came in during the night, and none of the medical flights would go up, and even the critical care ground crew wouldn't drive across state because of the freezing fog. It was after 2pm when they finally left. A crew flew from KC to the town 50 miles to the west, their ambulance crew brought the flight team over. As they were leaving, they were waiting to see if the plane would come on over, instead of their driving back another 50 miles (that is about an hour in this neck of the woods. I didn't hear how it turned out.
But, I had left work, and they didn't call me back, so guess they made the connetion one way or the other.
I've been on a mini vacation of sorts. Was scheduled to work Fri, Sat and Sun and was called off all 3 days. I did go to work yesterday, but went home after 8 hours. I was scheduled a half shift today, and was called off. I don't mind, I have the hours to get paid. But, I can't go anywhere or do anything, as I have to be able to respond in 20 minutes.
I was kind of surprised I hadn't had to go in and work on OB, postpartum. Except I think they haven't had too many patients, either, and that would require only 2 nurses. Both have to be labor and delivery nurses, which I am not.:D Peds hasn't been too busy, but they are orienting new nurses, so I wouldn't work there, as I'm not a "regular" so wouldn't be orienting anyone. :D
Usually what happens is the OB nurses take the time off--they are "in control" of the day-to-day staffing (who died and made them God? Oh, that would be the director ) So, unless she (the director) gets involved, they pretty much work things to their advantage, or to how their staff wants. PEDS and NBIC just plug along, come to work every day. They really wanted me to stay to do deliveries yesterday. I said, I'll check w/the boss, do what she says. She said, clean up (after the dismissal) and go home. So, I did.
DD works in shipping/loading @ JCPenney. She works Mon, Wed, and Fri. Since Christmas is over, their days are only about 3 hours long, and for 2 weeks she is scheduled only 2 days. So, today she goes in. It will be a 10 day, and she thinks that will be good for the paycheck.
About 9, she called to say she is coming home. She walked in and went straight to the bathroom, throwing up. She came out, ready to go to bed, and went right back in. I have her set up with the old plastic bag in a waste basket in her room. She didn't check for a temp, and I don't even know if I can find a thermometer. I'm suspecting she doesn't have one, cuz she is always asking me to feel her forehead, just sure that she is burning up.
One of DS's buddy doesn't sound too good either. Only, I don't think he has the flu. He wakes up and coughs for 20 to 30 minutes, hacking and carrying on. He's done that for several days, and I haven't heard anything out of him except early morning (early his morning, that is--he just got up.)
I'm watching husbands who kill on E!
They have covered Mark Hacking and now are on that Temple guy in TX (was it Katy, TX) he ws a teacher, she was pregnant. Took years to get him. David Temple.
Don't know who else will be on. I like the DA or SA down in that part of TX. Kelly Siegler. I like to listen to her talk--her accent. She has been on a couple of other cases I see on this type of show.

Haaaaa!!!! I'm so used to it, the hooks on my hall wall are loaded with nanuck jackets and scarves. THe shelf in my kitchen has at least 6 pair of gloves. THe boot tray is loaded and everything here is white outside. I know the odds are I'll slide down the driveway sideways in my car at any given moment. I know you love the cold Gator, but you'd get tired of it mighty fast up here. My house is cozy though since the new windows went in, but leave it to poppa, there'd be steel slabs on the windows. He hates losing heat with a passion. If you ever knew what he's done to houses we've had you would never believe it. Suffice to say he won't outlive the money he invested to keep the cold out of them all. I call him a WW2 baby. He hates to be cold. Can you talk him into a winter home in the sunshine state?

The 4 brothers and me were using the same guest bathroom (not at the same time, of course :D). I think one of them plugged it up and repaired it enough that it looked like I did it, the devils! Because believe me, I do NOT use excess toilet paper! And after the snaking (they have no plungers! is that Canadian or just odd?) it was broken. I made my hubby do on the down-low since I was embarrassed, and it broke. Then it got worse: when he reported the break to his dad, apparently they all assumed I had been flushing, ahem, feminine care products, because he came back with a lecture about that. I ended that real quick.

Okay, I have a plunger story. We had a plunger emergency and also we knew that our old plunger didn't fit the style of terlets in our new house so I hop into the car and dash off to Canadian Tire to buy a Master Plunger. As I am frantically looking for the plunger isle....I spring a leak....ladies, in my haste I neglected to reinforce before I left home the dam was bursting....so now I have a lovely dark and shiny stain forming on the front of my sage green pants. I am now holding the plunger and making my way to the checkout, with the plunger held directly infront to hide my shame. As I exit the store I can see out of the corner of my eye, our Bishop from church, sitting in his truck (he is a carpenter by trade) and he will likely want to chat. I pretended not to notice him and instead walked like a woman who is handling an extreme plunger emergency and needs to make haste. The plunger worked fine btw.

I have more plungers in my house than I have toilets - lol. I have the old fashioned kind but have now moved on to a more modern variation that is kind of accordion like. Unfortunately it only comes in neon orange and I hide it in the work room. Works like a charm though.
I keep a separate plunger for the kitchen sink. It's been known to have it's issues too.

Oh, i just remembered my in-laws are flying to Florida this week. :D:chicken:
Twenty Nine! It was 29 degrees this morning. Everything was iced up. One of the pipes on my boss' house froze and burst. 29! And going to get colder. Waiting for those snow flurries on Saturday.
I had to sit and warm up my car for about six minutes and had to back it up into a sunny spot to melt the ice on the windshield. I had no fluid because the lines were frozen. The outside cats were cozy in their beds with blankets.

Ah Ha! Now I see the need to always walk around with a bottle of water. It's a shame how those bottles spill on their own. :D

:You guys are cracking me up!!!
Plungers I know (and I do have one beside each terlet.) Snakes, not so much. Don't believe I have even seen one of those. Heck, around here, even the store bathrooms have plungers. If it was the home of one of those doggone brothers--you would have an excellent idea of next year's present. :D Well, maybe not so much--probably don't want do remind the family of the unpleasant interlude.
I remember when my parents moved into their new house, a neighbor came over like ten times a day to borrow tools and asking for his help. My father was having a fit. So, I called their house and my mother answered (it was prearranged). She told him it was Pete and he wanted to know if my father could come over to their house and bring the plunger. She said first he turned pink, then the turned red and then he was white.
Another time, he had a beaten down old trailer on five acres of land in Oswego, NY, that a fast talking guy sold to him. He was trying to sell it and was crazed by all the strange calls and questions. He paid $5k and was willing to sell it for $3500. My brother kept calling with all sorts of questions - How many bedrooms does it have? Does it have a swimming pool? Is there a separate garage? The pool is what sent him over the edge.

LOL gator your poor dad. the only time my dad's face got white is when my sister and I were in a tethered hot air balloon which got loose and ended in the top of a tree. My sister and I laughed so long and so hard while my dad mom and brothers turned white and took off running after us. I have pictures. LOL
We are getting lots and lots of snow. working on 3 feet now and expecting more. one helpful hint gator is to warm up your car while you are getting ready to leave. the car will need at least 5 to 10 minutes for the fluids to get going. My dh and I have always done it and it saves on time.
I am finally starting to get over my bronchitis thank goodness. once a year and what a pain. I hope everyone here is doing well. sara

3 feet?!!! You're going to need a tunnel to get outside soon! When I was in 8th grade we had a graduation trip up to the Sierras and there was snow up to the eaves. It's pretty eerie when the snow isn't on the ground, its at your waist or worse! stay safe!

Annoyed vent, here: a study shows that calorie counts at chain restaurants are not accurate. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,582418,00.html?test=latestnews
Here it comes: of course they are not! There is a cook at each one individually making your meal! One little extra dollop of olive oil, bingo, not accurate! Extra pinch of cheese, not accurate! Unless we all want to get pre-frozen, pre-weighed, pre-made food at our Applebees or what have you, each meal is going to be a special little snowflake, as it should be!
Jeez, what do they want, to switch us to pre-packed Soylent Green? :flamemad:

The Diary of a Snow Shoveler
December 8
6:00 PM. It started to snow. The first snow of the season and the wife and I took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge soft flakes drift down from heaven. It looked like a Grandma Moses Print. So romantic we felt like newlyweds again. I love snow!
December 9
We woke to a beautiful blanket of crystal white snow covering every inch of the landscape. What a fantastic sight! Can there be a more lovely place in the Whole World? Moving here was the best idea I've ever had. Shoveled for the first time in years and felt like a boy again. I did both our driveway and the sidewalks. This afternoon the snowplow came along and covered up the sidewalks and closed in the driveway, so I got to shovel again. What a perfect life.
December 12
The sun has melted all our lovely snow. Such a disappointment. My neighbor tells me not to worry, we'll definitely have a white Christmas. No snow on Christmas would be awful! Bob says we'll have so much snow by the end of winter, that I'll never want to see snow again. I don't think that's possible. Bob is such a nice man, I'm glad he's our neighbor.
December 14
Snow lovely snow! 8" last night. The temperature dropped to -20. The cold makes everything sparkle so. The wind took my breath away, but I warmed up by shoveling the driveway and sidewalks. This is the life!
The snowplow came back this afternoon and buried everything again. I didn't realize I would have to do quite this much shoveling, but I'll certainly get back in shape this way.
December 15
20 inches forecast. Sold my van and bought a 4x4 Blazer. Bought snow tires for the wife's car and 2 extra shovels. Stocked the freezer.
The wife wants a wood stove in case the electricity goes out. I think that's silly. We aren't in Alaska, after all.
December 16
Ice storm this morning. Fell on my butt on the ice in the driveway putting down salt. Hurt like heck. The wife laughed for one hour, which I think was very cruel.
December 17
Still way below freezing. Roads are too icy to go anywhere.
Electricity was off for 5 hours. I had to pile the blankets on to stay warm. Nothing to do but stare at the wife and try not to irritate her. Guess I should've bought a wood stove, but won't admit it to her. God I hate it when she's right. I can't believe I'm freezing to death in my own living room.
December 20
Electricity's back on, but had another 14" of the damn stuff last night. More shoveling. Took all day. Darn snowplow came by twice.
Tried to find a neighbor kid to shovel, but they said they're too busy playing hockey. I think they're lying. Called the only hardware store around to see about buying a snow blower and they're out. Might have another shipment in March. I think they're lying. Bob says I have to shovel or the city will have it done and bill me. I think he's lying.
December 22
Bob was right about a white Christmas because 13 more inches of the white crap fell today, and it's so cold it probably won't melt till August. Took me 45 minutes to get all dressed up to go out to shovel and then I had to poop. By the time I got undressed, pooped and dressed again, I was too tired to shovel. Tried to hire Bob who has a plow on his truck for the rest of the winter; but he says he's too busy. I think the jerk is lying.
December 23
Only 2" of snow today. And it warmed up to 0. The wife wanted me to decorate the front of the house this morning. What is she nuts!!! Why didn't she tell me to do that a month ago? She says she did but I think she's lying.
December 24
6". Snow packed so hard by snowplow, I broke the shovel. Thought I was having a heart attack. If I ever catch the man who drives that snowplow I'll drag him through the snow by his nose and beat him to death with my broken shovel. I know he hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shoveling and then he comes down the street at 100 miles an hour and throws snow all over where I've just been!
Tonight the wife wanted me to sing Christmas carols with her and open our presents, but I was too busy watching for the snowplow.
December 25
Merry -bleeping- Christmas! 20 more inches of the slop tonight. Snowed in. The idea of shoveling makes my blood boil. I hate the snow! Then the snowplow driver came by asking for a donation and I hit him over the head with my shovel. The wife says I have a bad attitude. I think she's a fricking idiot. If I have to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" one more time, I'm going to stuff her into the microwave.
December 26
Still snowed in. Why the heck did I ever move here? It was all HER idea. She's really getting on my nerves.
December 27
Temperature dropped to -30 and the pipes froze, plumber came after 14 hours of waiting for him, he only charged me $1400 to replace all my pipes.
December 28
Warmed up to above -20. Still snowed in. THE WITCH is driving me crazy!!!
December 29
10 more inches. Bob says I have to shovel the roof or it could cave in. That's the silliest thing I ever heard. How dumb does he think I am?
December 30
Roof caved in. I beat up the snow plow driver he is now suing me for a million dollars not only the beating I gave him but also for trying to shove the broken snow shovel up where the sun don't shine. The wife went home to her mother. 9" predicted.
December 31
I set fire to what's left of the house. No more shoveling.
January 8
Feel so good. I just love those little white pills they keep giving me. Why am I tied to the bed?

I can't help but notice that the discussion surrounding OJ is very active on this board ....like the number one topic. A few times I ventured in there but I just don't find that case very interesting anymore, and also because they seem to discussing things very intricate detail. I am wondering, over all, is what are they discussing so passionately over there - how the prosecution failed to prove their case?? I couldn't possibly read through it all so I thought some of you might know. A brief answer is all am asking for. Thanks for any replies.

On my brief forays in there, it appears there are two factions: OJ was innocent and unfairly persecuted, and OJ is guilty as sin. Was he found not guilty? Yes. Was he not guilty?

I'm ok - waiting for the snow to start. DH has a truck with a plow on it - all set for the morning. He's not happy with his truck; it's been having issues, but he's waiting for spring before he gets a new one. Wouldn't want to plow with a brand new truck - LOL. I hope the truck makes it until then and we don't have much snow.......
Stay inside - warm and dry. I keep saying I'm going to make a snowman but I never quite get around to it.

I hope so for your sake it lasts through the winter. especially with your driveway. we just through our salt but I am sure if it melts it will freeze so someone can fall on it. I need ice cleats. Yes dh's would hate to get a new truck and scratch it up with a plow. they would be devastated.Mine would.

My wife and I lived in one of those for 20 plus years. I liked it.
You know it's cold when you wake up and find your dog and cat spooning. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-gen125.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

13 here most of the day. I tho't it was yesterday the hi was to be 15, but it did hit 30. Maybe I listened wrong or the weatherman got his dates mixed up. No winter storm yet, but remember I'm not complaining about that mistake!!!!
I can't find my cap, but it was so cold in the car (worse than outside) that I did pull the scarf over my ears. All I can find is the scarf and one glove. Forgot that we needed to go to WallyWorld for the stuff you spray on the windshield to get the ice melting instead of scraping, and that DD and I need to replenish our glove/hat/scarf. I did find a stray glove, it was more maroon than the red of the glove I have, but I might just make it do.
The girls @ work were making fun of my ensemble the other day. My new metalic blue/green purse and wallet. My red scarf/glove/hat. My hot pink windbreaker. My purple work bag. And of course, none of my scrubs match any accessory!!! But the only time I have all things together is when I walk from the car into the building. It's not like I wear the whole outfit all day!!! Can't wait to see what they think about one red and one maroon glove, lol

I hope everyone here is doing well. sara

Not having much weather on the cold side, I don't know if FL has any laws about unoccupied running cars. We do in KS, especially in the bigger cities. It's a no-no, an opportunity for car thieves to do their thing. I don't know how often people break the law on this, but it's been some time since I have noticed the warnings about not leaving your car running. Maybe because I don't watch the local news anymore. ;) Or, it just isn't cold enough generally for people to do it.
I have done it--making sure I have 2 keys, and lock the door (hoping the thieves would not have time to break in?) But, with my new vehicle, the door won't lock if the keys are in the ignition . I wish I had one of those remote starters--I think. You have to be careful of those, too. One co-worker says she would get off work, shut off the car and go in the house. Hours later, when she was ready to leave the house again--the car had been running for heaven knows how long. I don't know if hers had a short, or if she accidentally pushed a button.
:flamemad:
I think so. Some idjuts think they know better than we what to put in our mouths. If we don't want to eat what they recommend, they will try to get the govment to tax the bewaddin' out of any foods "they" don't approve of. Fast foods, Applebees, steak houses--shut them down or tax the carp out of the foods so people won't buy That will shut down those houses of ill food!!!! Put up calorie counters, and if some moron @ Burger King accidently puts an extra flake of cheese on the whopper--fine the restaurant!!!!! That will shut down those housed of ill food!!!!!
Really. I tell these creeps---well, in my mind I tell them---if THEY have a problem, THEY need to grow their own gardens, have their chickens and cows, a patch of wheat for their flour, figure out how to grow their tofu, go back to the days where all they have is what they produce. Then, get a freakin' bike or a horse and buggy (altho I do believe the horses might have some of those greenhouse emissions?) and leave the rest of us alone!!!!
I want to eat a Whopper? So, I'll do it!!! They don't have to watch me. I would like to see some of these idjuts--see if they are skinny minnies, I'd like to check their medical background and see what kinds of chronic illness they have, with all their healthful ways. I'd like to see what vices they have, and then tax the crap out of what they like to do and eat, and where they like to go. I'd like to make it against the law to drive one of those little tin cans that crumple in a heap if they accidentally run over the curb.
Actually, I would just like for people to live their own lives and not worry about what the heck the Jones' are doing, how they are doing, and who they are doing it with. They should keep their own freakin' noses clean before they get the klenex out for mine!!!!!
Well, I feel better now!!!! Until I hear the news again, of course!!!
Oh, and I'd like for Al Gore to walk wherever he goes, instead of powering up his private or chartered plane. It would certainly take him longer to get from one speech to the other, and that would be great, cut way down on the times he will speak in a year!!!! Then, he can turn off all those lights and heat and whatever he has in his house. Until he can make the same sacrifices and changes he is demanding that I do, I think I will just continue my life as I am now.
What a lovely story, lol!!!!
I can laugh for the moment, cuz we haven't been graced by too much of the white stuff. Just the cold.
For the rest of you all getting snow--stay warm!!! Try not to get the cabin fever.
OMG knowing your stories I cannot wait.
I hope they call me off tomorrow so I can read it!!!!
My imagination is running, trying to figure out what kind of a story this one is going to be!!!
So nice of your hubby to trade in a toy for one that the whole family can enjoy!!!
Isaac is so darn cute!!! That is neat the way you got his mirrored image, too.
Mobile homes can be every bit as good an practical as the other kind (I don't know what we call the other kind, lol.) I remember walking thru some when they were promoting them (before we got several companies with their own spaces.) The set up was much better than the house I bought.

I have lots and friends and family in Kansas City and they say they're getting hammered. My niece said schools been canceled for the rest of the week. You must be in a pocket somewhere that lucked out. I know when I grew up in KC when Misery got hit, Kansas got hit.

South west KS. Where all the storms were predicted to be. Even the last storm we were to be hit, seems it was all around us--and the central area was hit the hardest--the area that was not to be affected much.
Not that I am complaining, of course. Same thing happens with the summer storms. All around us, but central and east really get hit.

I agree with you. To me, those numbers are basically a suggestion. It could be higher, rarely lower. I know they were selling ice cream here that stated it was 100 calories per serving. I tried it and it was delicious. No way I thought to myself. Six month later the company is being sued because it was double the calories it stated.
If it tastes too good to be true, it's not. One time I was in the grocery and two old ladies were shopping. One said she bought fat free ice cream, the other said, I'd rather have nothing than that cr*p. Two sweet old ladies!

There was an episode in Sheila Levine is Dead and Living in NY (book, not awful movie) that involved a scam like that.

We call them manufactured homes here. It's a home that is put together in two pieces and is stationary as opposed to a mobile home which can be moved by a vehicle. My friend had one, it was huge and beautiful.

When it comes to freezing or wearing mismatched clothes - that's an easy choice. Just state that you saw the ensemble on the Paris runway for next winter season. You are ahead of the style. If Paris Hilton wore it, everyone would have it on the next day.

So my pee pee story. Prolly has more meaning to me and could be one of those ya had to be there things. Anyhoo our son had a golf tourney in Pennsylvania. Hubby and I sat at the clubhouse while he did his practice round. It was hot and i drank a gallon of water. we drop him back at the hotel to shower and we go on to a Walmart to grab fruit and snacks for the room. We had a cart ful of stuff when it hit me so hard i was immobilized. I had to pee! and pee bad. I could barely move. It had never hit me like that before in my life. Almost like childbirth pressure. We determine the bathroom is about 20 feet away and I'm afraid to move but have no choice. Of course I'm wearing white shorts. I finally get in the bathroom which only has 2 stalls. One is out of order and the other occupied. I cant take it at this point. I can hear the woman making sounds and hear reams of toilet paper being peeled off. She aint going anywhere just yet. At this point tears are streaming I'm hopping around panicking as the dam is going to let loose. I even briefly thought of utilizing the sink i was that desperate. Then i can hear honey i wont be much longer. I cant answer cuz i cant talk. I'm mentally saying you can hold it over and over again but just about out of my mind. She finally exits and i fly in still holding myself and starting to lose control. Finally relief but i knew i had a big honkin urine stain. I exit the bathroom laughing. What else do ya do. My husband asks the usual question what did you do fall again? I remove my purse from the front of me and he says Oh dear. So we make a plan-we have all this stuff in the cart and the only way out of the store is to go thru the checkouts anyways. I'm to hold my purse in front of me and he will stay tight behind me to hide the stain in the back. I'm still laughing and out we go. Arrive back at the room and my son looks and comments Mom did you pee your pants and scowls  It took me back to all those times when i was younger and my Mom would be pleading with my Dad to get her to the nearest bathroom and I always thought gawd we gotta stop AGAIN. Now i understood. I was now there myself and I was my Mother :D I dont think i ever felt more panicked in those endless few moments. So now i plan. When i go somewhere- where is the bathroom. I go even if i dont have to go

I'm ticked off at a defense team which is complaining about too much media coverage yet they are on televised interviews every week. Plus, I'm an Orange county tax payer paying for your client's meals and medical. If you say you will present evidence that she is innocent, then show it now so she can be released and our tax dollars aren't wasted on her bologna sandwiches. My wife and I lived in one of those for 20 plus years. I liked it.
nothin really wrong with a mobile home, i just hate how all the walls inside are paneled and its not very well insulated lol. it IS very big tho, three bedroom too bath and a big open living room/ dining room.
negatives = people standing up to 15 feet away outside can hear each and every word uttered inside lol. especially bad since my parents' house is about 8 feet away, NO privacy lol

That happens with "regular" houses, too. I live in 1940's House and the single pane windows let everyone know every fight. aaargh! I found this out when pulling up one day and I could hear hubby yelling at the dog from the street. I hate having neighbors at all!
I won't go into the other problems with 1940s House, but...2 bedrooms, 1 bath was standard. There are 4 of us and a BIG dog. I envy your third bedroom!

Enjoyed the terlet story, Beemer!!! Isn't it just amazing how much we now resemble our mothers, lol!!!!! Good thing there wasn't a hidden camera, following you and hubby thru the check out!!!
Going to the bathroom is a requirement before we load the car. "I don't have to go, Mom!!!!" "Well, just pretend you do, go to the bathroom!!!!" Amazingly, most of the time, even if they "didn't have to"---they did!!!!
Going to the bathroom before I set out w/the cart @ Dillons or WalMart is a requirement, too. I have regretted every single time I didn't!!!!!
