lol. i am a TERRIBLE housekeeper. my idea of cleaning is pretty juvenile. i hide the mess alot, mostly because i have soooo much CRAP that i mentally CANNOT throw away and so i end up stuffing things wherever they fit. aww BoB that sucks rocks :(
oh NO! i didn't even THINK about illness when i planned my sons trick or treating agenda. crap! i wonder what would be the safest way to go about that. we have only had about 10 cases of piggy flu in lake county and i don't think anyone has died from it here, but i REALLY don't know if its risky taking my son door to door and getting candy from a bunch of strangers now. who knows how many people are like you and are courteous enough to NOT hand out candy while sick

I kind of figure people with The Oink could be anywhere, you take your chances. But I am going to use my handy baby wipes and wipe the outside of each candy when we get home. Then I can also remove the ones I want, I mean *ahem*, the ones he shouldn't have. :D

I LOVED Tuesdays---off in the am to prepare for girl scouts that afternoon, while Frank worked his magic. Then come home to a most lovely, clean, good-smelling, did I say clean? house!!! Oh, I LOVED Tuesdays.

So, I guess it doesn't matter that CA will drop off into the ocean some day? Everyone will be gone, huh? Remember some years back when there was a prediction that earthquakes were going to do the West Coast in, and the "new" West Coast would be Denver, CO.

We've had more than 150. Went through 12 bags! We live close to Oakland, and I think we get lots of kids from sketchy areas come here because its safe. Our street goes all out decorating, so i think that draws families now, too. There actually is a bit of pique: one guy used to decorate, and now a lot of us are doing it, and he is kind of snarky about it, saying people are "over the top" and "it's really going too far"...guess we stepped in his bailiwick.

The only way that could happen is if the entire Pacific plate somehow collapsed. In other words, not likely. A Great Quake, however...far too likely. Its just a matter of where it hits and when...

LOL!! Yes my house would make a great haunted house! Poppa would flog me, though I've mentioned it! LOL! The house next door is more spooky but they're in San Fransisco right now. My weebles surprised me tonight :)
I had their bags all ready with their names on them. All 7 of them with the special nawny candy. They started opening the candy and eating it and forgot all about trick or treating.. we had to coral them out of here s their mommy's could get the deed done. lol! So tonight I saw Snow White, Petal princess, a Witch, a Pirate, Captain Feather-sword, a gypsy, and a Fairy!! What a parade of weebles! :)
Poppa and I don't dress in costume anymore. We're getting too old. I gave away poppa's crazy masks and Halloween toys. I did get into costume last year for Foshnock and that was fun. I'll try to find a picture.

Is that because its theoretically the worst place, Nawny? You haven't seen my house. I'm outnumbered. My hubby, rather than clear a dish or pick up his clothes from the floor, says we need to get "help" come in. I say, a cleaning person will clean, but they will not pick up just a basic cluttered mess! I would have to clean to let someone clean, so more work for me, kwim?
I spent the week he was gone creating a system (and going to House of Mouse, heehee). A basket for dirty clothes with his name on it, a spot specifically for cleared dishes, etc. Told him he toes the line or moves to a hotel every week so I can clean! Yahh, me!

Yes B. The Bathroom is the first room you clean because it is the most difficult IMO. Step one is the one you want behind you. Remove all rugs, waste basket etc..spray with the strongest cleaner . I like bleach because it kills all germs.
Make a half water half bleach (add a little dish soap) spray and go to town. It's a cheap version of Clorox Cleanup. Mirrors you can clean with the usual but don't spray too much or you'll be there all day. Just one squirt. After you soak up your tiles and tub, add Comet to the tub, and give the tub time with the Comet Cleanser, and do that last. (There is a mint scented soft scrub available at the cleaning products distributor that I loved)
Kitchen is second, Start with the stove, do the floor last, then the rest of the house is easy. Just Dust and vac. Use the dust wand with a little End Dust on it. I used Ammonia and water in a spray bottle for counters etc.., Murphy's for the woodwork and Lemon oil for the wood cabinets. SOS for the stove when needed.
Picking up is definitely the cleaning lady's job LOL! Men don't' pick up (if they drop at all) It's strange, and I know I am guilty of being an Italian mother. I had 2 girls and 2 boys. It seemed natural to tell the girls to clean up. But when I saw the boys clothes on the floor, I just sighed and picked them up automatically. When the girls complained, I just said, Boys are stupid, they don't know any better. But I think it's a pattern - started with King Henry.
Sometimes I just spray the shower and toilet and walk away. IMO the kitchen and bathroom are the hardest rooms.
When I cleaned houses, I used to mix water with Lavender fabric softener in a pray bottle and sprayed the living room a few times on my way out. The name of my company was, Lavender Cleaning Services. They loved me.

Every Monday evening, I would tell the kids to make sure their clothes and toys are picked up, make sure things are thrown in the trash, etc. "But MOOOOMMMM!!!!! Frank's coming tomorrow!!!!" Exactly. Frank will vacuum and mop, clean the bathrooms, etc. He isn't supposed to have to "pick up" the house before he can do it. I don't think they ever "got" it!!! I have to be by the water beemer. maybe Nawny will adopt us in the summer. too cold for you me and Nawny right now. I wonder how cold shadydaisy is?
Ya shady-fill us in. Well we know gator and bob's climate. We could bring a tent and become squatters there. Only thing is i know for sure nawny would feed us? I'm sure she would bring us in in winter-but ya we gotta get outta these winters. Maybe we could become serial, travelling squatters. Is there such a thing? There is now :D
At the moment I am sitting in front of the gas fireplace to I'm not too cold. It's been raining here a lot. The sun came out for an hour this afternoon - it was so exciting.
I'd love to go to a warm climate in the winter. My house is available during the summer for anyone who lives where it's really, really hot. NJ is humid but I have central air and it is cooler up on the mountain.
My idea of housekeeping is a cleaning man that comes 2x a month.
And that, is that.
LOL - I have a client who is a very wealthy woman, about 40, owns an estate here in NJ. She has a full time handyman, who lives in his own cottage, on the estate. She would frequently mention "Sam" when I talked to her. One time she was telling me that she had to call "Sam" to come over at midnight because there was something wrong at the house. Anyway, I was invited over to her house for some sort of woman's meeting that I didn't want to go to but the boss said I should go and I got to meet "Sam". Sam was in his late 20's/early 30's and absolutely gorgeous. Honestly rarely do I meet a man that I think is absolutely drop dead handsome but he was (is). Anyway, she married someone and she has a new handyman - funny thing....

I just got back from taking my son to the doctor. He had pneumonia two weeks ago, got antibiotics, felt better, went to work, then woke up this morning feeling terrible. Coughed and his "head almost flew off" His little guy (age 4) had a relapse from the kiddie flu he was treated for last week, so the whole family was in a panic. My DIL called crying this morning because both needed to go to the doctor in 2 different towns, so I took my son.
He didn't test positive for the Swine Flu, regular flu or strep but they are treating it like influenza and gave him tam a flu in pill form. Take it for 5 days.
The little guy was okay but he got tam a flu too because he has asthma. :(
Poppa has the anise and he boiled it in water, cooled it off and we have it here to drink instead of plain water in case we feel ill. It's the herbal tam a flu. I learned about it here. Thank you guys!
Poor Gator got a scare yesterday, thank God she didn't test positive for the piggy flu. It's best that she apply caution, going on a plane isn't too safe these days with all this sickness going round. I'm feeling great. Sickness is afraid of me. ;)
Hey, I helped build the plant in the US that makes that!

Nope. We stayed home. Better company and doesn't cost as much. I went hunting Thursday afternoon while she helped her brother at his shop. Didn't see anything other than a few crows but it was fun. Quiet and peaceful. No one bothering me. Really nice. I think there was a wild hog in the bushes pretty close to me just before I left but I didn't see him. I would have stayed in the tree. Those things are dangerous. Oh, wait a minute, I had a rifle. Maybe I wouldn't have had to stay there that long. Those things are filthy and mean.

I doubt if it were that big. Have you seen the program on that thing? It was proved to be true. I wouldn't want to come face to face with that thing. We have had to start an alligator season of sorts here because there are so many of them. There was one taken near a boat landing I go to sometimes to go fishing that was 12.5 feet long and 1064 lbs. I would hate to be around that one in a small boat. Or a big boat.

Nothing wrong with an adult beverage now and then. We just don't. My FIL does but not as much as he once did. He is 75 now and has cut back. In his day he had his share. I am not one who thinks it is terrible or wrong in any way. I do, however as a safety guy, think that water is better for you in the heat. Beer tends to take water out of your body instead of replacing it. I did that as a safety topic at a plant I worked at for a few years. Sort of changed the drinking habits of the management during golf league. They found out I was right. They did feel better when they drank water instead of beer on the course.

You want to hear something idiotic? The area where the kids were getting their swine flu doses was at the entrance to pediatrics. Therefore, all the kids in masks and with symptoms were walking through the crowd of kids there to get vaccinated. DUHHHHHHH! Sometimes I wonder about the average intelligence of people.

I am getting so tired of being in the house. It's been six days now. I can't believe I've lost 5 lbs. I am eating and I'm drinking lots of water and Powerade zero. I've watched six days of NCIS. I have the series on DVD and that's all I watch. It's my favorite show. I made an appt to see my doc on wed to make sure the pneumonia is clearing up. I have never coughed so hard in my whole life. Every cell in my body contracts. Maybe that's how I lost the weight.
This would be a perfect time for the trial. We could all claim sickness and stay home to watch it.

I am so glad we can get tv shows on video now. It has saved my sanity many a time. I'm feeling crappy, too. I think its just a bad cold, but it hit my asthma last night and I'm out of inhaler. I'm trying not to cough until I can pack up the car and get my hubby and meds at 5:30 because coughing just makes it worse...

I've been around. My weekend is over and now I'm back to contractor dust, 4 men walking through my dining room to get in and out of the 2 back rooms that I think will never get done, and I want my house back! :( If I showed you pictures, you'd pray for me. That status is - the bathroom is put together. It took the tile guy 3 weeks to tile. Grrrr... the painters are almost done. He announced he has 2 more days to finish.
They took the ceiling light and loosened it, blew the circuit in the back half of the house. It's been there for over 100 years, now we have to rewire, they tell me.. ???? Ahhh the problems of life.. I'm still grateful albeit aggravated.
The good thing is, I'm not sick. I've been drinking the Anise as tea and also cold. Seems the Tami-flu industry bought out the farm in China. Business is business. Poppa was passing it out to the family on Sunday, in baggies. Everyone is well and that's a good thing. It cost less than a dollar to get thru the day. 3 Teaspoons per gallon, it tastes so good too.
My son paid 160 dollars for the prescription for my boy weeble and 55 dollars for ten tami-flu tablets for himself. This Anise stuff is a brown powder and it's really good! I mentioned it to my son's Dr and she said, It's not the same, you need to get a prescription. Yeah right, of course doc. ;) You're not done killing him yet.
My DIL is on the phone with the health department (being their worst nightmare) because her two weebles have asthma and they refuse to give my oldest weeble (age 11) the shot because the young one is a priority. (age 4) They've both had the mist. She's a mess with panic.
My weeble twins (age 5) got the mist and my daughter refuses to get them the shots. Enough is enough, she said. On the news last night a big wig RI Dr made a statement to all parents who have gotten the mist for their kids said, they are not in danger at this point. ??????? He said, the panic is unnecessary. He also mentioned the little girl who died. She had an underlying heart condition. Fox Noise forgot to tell us that.
I'm no dr but I'll opt for the Anise in boiled water. So far, so good. So in my family there were 2 cases of pneumonia, one case of the regular flu and 6 bad reactions to the mist. Runny noses, coughs, fevers.
Everyone is all better now. And I still want my house back or I'm moving. :o I just want a condo..

My main goal tho was convince him he had to get this crazy lady back in her house ASAP. DH tells me where he lives. Chinese food store is where we got it. There's one in the hood in Providence. Right near Poppa's office. If you have a hard time finding it, I can mail some to ya. IM me if you need to. I wouldn't buy it online. I don't trust the Internet for such things. This panic is causing a huge scam industry. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. What you need to look for is the powder form. Unless you have a grinder. We boil a gallon of water with the Anise in it every night.

I told the super and the site manager that they were nothing but trouble from day one and they did nothing. So, I guess I get the blame. I don't know if I will be able to go back to that site and really, I don't want to. The prime contractor has been trying to run us out ever since we started. I can not, for the life of me, figure out what the problem is. One of their managers even told one of our supervisors his job was to get rid of us. What a bunch of dorks.

America's work force strikes again! This country is going to hell in a handbasket.
What makes this so unbelievable is that the people who sort of ran us out are the same ones who told my boss they were happy with what I was doing Wednesday of last week. He was there for two days without my there and had great things to say about the site. If these idiots had a problem with what I was doing they should have told him then. Don't ya think?

Hey guys...I was thinking about those missing students who probably went into a lake in their car...
You should have a ResQme or a variation in every car you drive: http://www.botachtactical.com/resqme.html It will break out your window and cut your seatbelt for fast escape, even underwater. It is just the right size for stocking stuffers. I got them after seeing that SUV accident where everyone was trying to rescue the trapped 4 year old from the burning car, and no one could get him out of his carseat because the belt was melted in and no one had a knife. He lived, but was burned...
They just found them dead in a pond http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,571526,00.html :(

I am really mad right now. I went back and looked at the stupid email and if they knew anything about what they were talking about they would know they were stupid. They claim that one guy was operating a manlift with only two of the four wheels on the ground. The safety devices on those things will not let them operate if they are over 4 degrees out of level. How in the heck does a manlift stay within 4 degrees of level when two of its wheels are off of the ground. That is just stupid.
We just had a Level 4 audit by the safety committee from the customer. My people had two findings out of a four day audit. One was a guy with a hoop ear ring in which was corrected on the spot. (the auditor, a lady, had one in each of her ears) The other was an alleged respirator issue. I took the MSDS to the meeting and showed them that what we were using was treated as nusance dust. It does not contain silica. So, really no findings. We have been on this site for 6 months. We have had two first aid injuries. The prime had 30 yesterday and one recordable. A guy, who is allergic, was stung by a bee and had to be given a shot and taken to the ER in an ambulance. Give me a break. The last time the insurance auditor was here, two of my guys were given safety prizes for their actions and information they gave him. The action was preventing the auditor from walking around a barrier we had in place around the welding that was going on and possibly getting flash burns from the arc. Sometimes I think the are just jealous.

The manlift thing doesn't sound possible. I can't imagine any combination of wheels being off the ground that would result in less than 4 degrees off. Your part of the site sounds VERY safe. I would work under you!

Hi Guys :seeya: i'm feeling okay now since i don't have a fever. It comes and goes. I just finished cleaning 4 cat litters, changed the bed, put the trash out, put the blankets in the wash and swept the floor. I had to, my mother wanted to come over and do it all, and i refuse to have her come over and get sick. she's been bringing me stuff everyday and leaving it at the door. im going to type lower case cause its easier.
i have mono and pneumonia in my left lung. i have no idea how i caught mono. but im doing okay. im eating lightly because im not exercising much so i need to watch blood glucose levels. appetite is good though. my mom just called and asked me if i wanted her to bring me a mcdonald's breakfast tomorrow morning! my mom is a heath food nut so now i know she's worried. i told her that i'd go out and get it if i want it. trouble is, i have no voice.
mom wanted to know how i can be doing all this while being so sick.. i said i was like a pioneer woman of 150 years ago. if they got sick and laid down, they were left behind to be eaten by coyotes. :D
Gator
glad u are feeling a little better gator, keep resting so it will last.
when i was 13 i had mono and i couldn't understand how i had gotten it, my doctor at the time told me that while it is commonly known as the kissing disease that you can actually develop mono when your body is already sick and gets too rundown on top of the illness. i feel for ya there, mono SUCKS i wouldn't wish that on anyone.......ok maybe ONE person ;) feel better soon gator

Oh, there was a big, long meeting at the site today. They seemed to have changed their minds. My VP of Safety was there and our CEO had contacted a VP from their company to make sure the meeting didn't get out of hand. Seems they could not come up with a real reason why they should send me off of the site. Oh, and their "list of violations" had shrunk and there were only the violations of our subs on it. Funny how that happens sometimes. They showed them all of the results of the audits I had done and that I was, in fact, finding and correcting problems as they came up. Now the safety manager from the prime contractor wants to look at our database system so they can see how it works and see about doing something like that for his people. The only negative thing they could say about me was that I wasn't visible enough. If I am doing these audits and finding and correcting the problems that must mean they are not out there when I am. Sometimes not at all.
They even told my VP that I was very knowledgeable and seemed to have a very broad backgound in safety, something they needed on the site.

She shrugged and said those fatal words I hate to hear when I'm needing a service and can't get it.. "I dunno what ta tell ya" which is always followed by a "Um, you can get it at our other store in Mass, I'm sure they have what you're looking for." No, it doesn't just happen there, that problem is everywhere. Funny thing about people, a lot of them can work for someone else and, with supervision, can do a really good job and meet deadlines. So, off they go on their own because they can make more money that way and they don't realize that they have no idea how to plan their work or drive themselves to get the job done. You know, one of the things that is a byproduct of college is the necessity of planning everything you do. If you don't have some type of plan for the day you don't get anything done. Also, people like that always seem to think that the boss "doesn't do anything" and when they go out on their own, and fail, they find out that he does more than they think. It is the same way with being a safety professional. People don't think you do anything. Now, get one of them to follow you around for a day and they see all of the bs you deal with and none of them want to be in safety anymore.
Sounds like he is shifting to the "if momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy" mode. Women should never need to face that but..... until some people give a lady the respect in the business world that they should it will. Gee, you find out that the ladies are very good at business when you do that too. That is why, when we built our home, I had that short meeting with the contractor. Oh, I work for a very good company. It is owned by two brothers and they really give a crap about their people no matter what level of the food chain you are on. Some of our "not so smart" managers are about to find that out. My VP, one of the brothers, talked to me "outside" yesterday about one of them that is going to, forgive me, have what my friends at DuPont called a "Come to Jesus" meeting. The guy has a problem and thinks that safety only slows him down. The two brothers are going to read him the riot act, again, this week. I was on one of his jobs once and caused a small meeting of that sort but this one is where they tell him where the door is and let him know what is going to happen to keep him from going out of it.
We just had a really big safety audit by the customer and I don't think they came out as good as they say they did. I did find out yesterday that another contractor was sent off the site totally yesterday for repeated serious problems that were not corrected. Another safety guy was asked to leave from another company for some infraction HE committed.
My VP talked to me last night and laughed his butt off. He said when they went into the meeting the negative stuff started and he and my boss showed them my audits both written and the ones in the database that we have and when they saw that they wanted to know all about the system. The project manager, top guy, wants to bench mark how we do these audits and wants to find out how the database works. Gee, I told the old goat that we did that and that I would gladly show him the system 4 months ago. It is a fantastic system for tracking violations all the way down from the manager of the project to the individual who committed the violation. You can track trends and really see where your problems are and who your problems are. Then you can focus on the problems instead of wasting time.
I guess we are not so stupid after all.
We also found out that the dork who is causing this problem has been placed into anger management classes by his company. Either take the class and it makes a difference or you are out of here.

Lordy Nawny you must be ready to spit nails :cuss: Dang asshats :flamemad: Reno's just seem to go hand in hand with frustration and lots of it. It took us three months to find someone who would mud and sand a thousand sq. foot addition. We were already at wits end after months of living in the existing part while renovating. Then the rain damage and living in a hotel all summer. It felt like were so close to an end. Made i dont know how many calls. Nope nobody wanted such a small job. Finally somebody came thru and he did an excellent job. I was so sick of cleaning dry wall dust at that point i coulda cried-come to think of it i think i did a coupla times
Note to people who are having dry wall work done: They have a sander now which is connected to a vaccum that all but eliminates the dust problem. Opps, I ratted them out. We require it for health reasons but it also really cuts down on the dust all over the place thing. I watched them use it on an office area the other day and I didn't believe they were really sanding. No dust in the air at all.
When you hire contractors, keep in the back of your mind, "you get what you pay for." When you go with the lowest price sometimes that is what you get. Lazy, sloppy work.

These guys are not hackers, but this job should have been done weeks ago. Today the plumber and the electrician are coming and the bathroom still isn't painted. It's going to be quite the cluster F. Been there, done that. So true. BUT, This project costs us what some don't make in a year. We have the best there is, but he subcontracted Tyler the painter-not that I'm not grateful for the gutting and the finish work or 32 new windows... it's always the end that gets messed up. The most important part of the project (for me) was the painting and the wall papering. :(
There are two rooms that were used as offices here. We wanted to create a bedroom and master bath. It went along all summer. Had to run water line from one side of the house to the other, underground. Then gut the rooms, then recreate them, build closets, stain and poly them, cut a couple of doors, rewire, install lighting, then partition for a laundry room, then tile, put in fixtures, then paint? Paint? I could have done it in one day. The painters have been here too long. I'm going to claim them as dependents this year. I don't understand.
I'm very easy to work for. The tile guy admitted he was milking the job because it was the most pleasant place he ever worked. They get all the coffee and refreshments they want, not to mention lunch.
Today is not going to be a good day. Poppa's on a bad one. I'm praying for Tyler the painter. :o I don't want poppa to call Ray the contractor and get Tyler into trouble. :(
It's my fault for getting up on the ladder yesterday to antique the light fixture and help Tyler wallpaper.. My hands are chewed up and I my back is sore. The room is still not done because poppa wouldn't let me finish. I told him Tyler was unsure of himself with the wall papering and he said- His problem. He should not have agreed to do it. I am impulsive when I want something done; nothing new.
I'm still grateful. :o

No, it doesn't just happen there, that problem is everywhere.
"When momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!
That's very true, but the truth is, I was defending them because when poppa aint happy people chit their pants. As kind as he is, that's how scary he can be. (Especially when his money is being abused.. Ooof! )

We will see how that works, pretty soon. My whole house is in need of renovation/repair. I'm trying to save up $$ to get it done, but my hand was forced on one of the bedrooms. DD's went in to clean up her room since the bf has left, and it is absolutely HORRIBLE. We ended up taking out the carpet (had to pay DS and a bud $40 to carry the crap out, no one wanted to touch it.) So, gonna look @ flooring options today. Kind of looking @ the wood looking stuff that you put down, with the grooves that you fit together. I think DD and I could handle that, but would have to pay for someone to do carpeting, if that is the way we go. Well, my options are rather limited either way, cuz I only have so much $$$$. Altho, by the end of the month, I should get my sellback of PTO which might cover that room AND the living room. Or, do I want to get the other bedrooms done? Or, do I want to put that toward the so-needed siding? Probably ought to put it on the roof--the snows aren't going to be kind to the roof. OTOH, snow isn't something we see all that much of.

I remember those days Amy-kids were young when we bought this place-hated the house it was the property that sold us and the fact that hubby is very handy. It took time and sometimes it sat for 2 years while we saved up. Fun the things ya find when ya rip things apart. One livingroom wall had newspaper and torn up blue jean for insulation. I knew it would not be good as when ya sat near that wall it was like a fan on ya-constant breeze LOL Gawd i look back sometimes and wonder how we survived it but we did. It will all come together in the end. Good luck and let us know what ya decide.

Real big columns and the house amoung the branches. It was like 2600 sq. ft. Really cool. Two of my sisters just moved into their newly built homes last winter.
'
One sister's hubby has been building houses (and designs them) for some time, just not as a full time job. He built a house maybe 3 years ago, and 2 years ago, sis quit her job and helped him build another house. Then last year, they built theirs. I think their having practice was helpful, lol. And, sis had seen what a pain in the keister changing plans every other day is--the lady of the house they built together was ALWAYS changing what she wanted--and usually a substantial upgrade in the material used. Then, the home owners got real pissy about the cost--ahem, the COST was on the original plans, every single upgrade ADDED to that cost!!! I'm not sure the woman ever "got" it. Her husband did, but he didn't have a clue how to handle her.
The youngest sister and her hubby survived their home building. Now, SHE was one who was changing plans all along. Of course, part of the time, her hubby and his dad just kind of ignored her plans, and did what they wanted, then pouted if it mattered enough for her to demand they do it the original way. Their house was slower to go up, cuz her hubby continued running his business, and the building was done in his evening and weekend hours. Their house is also substantially larger than the other sister's house.
But, they are both beautiful places. When I win the lottery, BIL will design my house (with a few ideas from me--he will just have to worry about HOW to make my ideas work, lol.) Then, I will pay these 2 sisters to roam around the area stores, and even go on shopping trips to select the faucets and the lighting, and all that stuff. (I don't even have a clue what "all that stuff" is, lol) and to do the home decorating. Then, they will get a yearly salary to come in as often as they want to change things up.
I swear, especially the one sister changed her furniture around every couple of months, and would have changed the entire decor that often, if she had had the money to do so. So, I guess they would be in 7th heaven, shopping with no monetary restrictions. Maybe they would select something they really like, and think I might not like it so much, and in a couple of months, take that out of my house and put it in theirs, lol!!!!
Well, when I win the lottery........

See, now I tho't that was just a female thing. The guys I know, and the few I work with, just seem to let this type of thing roll of their back. Spit it out, what you have to say, the next minute, they are all buddy buddy just like before. They don't seem to recognize conflict and controversy quite like us females (@ least me, the ones I know, and the ones I work with) seem to.
uh-oh.

Yeah, at the presser, it was announced they were soldiers. Could they be sleepers or moles? Or soldiers that freaked out? we'll likely know soon.

My kid is so sweet! I explained to him what Toys for Tots is after they had an ad on TV, and he went and got his piggy bank and said hey, there's coins in here for a toy for a little boy, mommy. I love my kids :)
Now that's a feather in your cap momma. :) I adore kids. They are right with the planet. Always listen to kids, they know everything and are the definition of love. Good job candy girl!

You know I always thought that too. This is more of a power struggle or who's is bigger. It's been festering for awhile and now they have declared war.
Last December there were huge layoffs in the company. The way it was done was the lower level people were let go and higher level people stayed on and took over the work of the people that had been under them. Hence, rather than overseeing payroll, I now do it. Some of the VP's seem to resent doing the "lower level" work. I figured I still had a job - what do I care what I'm actually doing, I didn't get a pay cut.

I have lived thru 2 layoffs. Like you, I figure, I still have a job, and if I want to keep it, I'd best be figuring out how I am going to do the work added to my plate. I haven't ever had to take a pay cut, either. So, I try not to whine too much when they aren't giving out raises, either.

I Know!! Mark Hawkins must have something interesting to say. I heard, from a fly on the wall, that Mark was flown in from CA to FL for questioning and, speculating on my part, paternity testing. I wonder if they are keeping Mark's info quiet until the trial. Then they can drop the bomb.

Very professional behavior ya got there. Yelling never solves anything. It simply makes it worse. Not a just a male thing either, I worked with a lot of ladies when I taught and believe me they yell too.

Years ago I had a sinus infection from .... well you know. My boss told me he had a sure fire cure. He said go by the "package" store and get a half gallon of Crown Royal, go to the grocery store and get a lemon, go home and throw the lemon out of the window and drink the Crown Royal and go to bed. If you wake up, your sinuses will be cured. Now, I did not drink never have, That much would have killed me.

Oh i am so onboard J. Read all the books and cant wait til Nov 20th for the movie to land here. Prolly wont get into the theatre that night as it will be nuts. It will kill me to wait. Vampires have never been my type of book or movie. Till now. The books and the movies have every element that attracts readers and viewers. I've talked to 70 yr. old women who have read them and luved them. I am very impressed with the author and her intent to reach the young readers with such a tender luv story of abstinence. Making it cool and such life lessons for those of us who have been thru it and those who are just entering into it. And i wont go on about Edward Ohhhhh......... LOL Well cast. I luv Alica and Jasper. I really got a kick outta Jasper he doesn't even need to speak to know what he's thinking. Oh yeah i'm a huge fan :rose:

I haven't read any of these books, but my DD does. She is 21. I know part of her Christmas gift will be a gift card to Hastings to cover the cost of the next book. She has all the previous ones.
