I've been reading what I can on the Gee family in IL. I check the Bloomington-Normal Pantagraph and the Peoria Journal Star daily in the obituaries to see if loved ones we know from growing up in that area have passed on. Anyway, are there any theories (or even a thread here on CL with this story) about what they think happened? All I know is they're looking for an unusual small truck painted primer gray (not the factory paint job) and it has two tailpipes sticking up out of the back of the bed of the truck. It's unusual to see a truck like that. Full-size trucks are more likely to have the tailpipes stick up but not the S-10 or Ranger size. Any idea why? Is the littlest girl still alive? TIA for anything anyone knows on this.
I have seen nothing other than what I posted. I did see a mention I believe in one of the links that the teenage girl had a new boyfriend. do not know what that means if anything. IMO

Wilson is House's best friend-only friend basically. Wilson heads the Oncology Dept. at same hospital. Wilson has been divorced several times. I think the parallel drawn with Foreman was all the reasons he left House's team for he became himself when he stepped into House's shoes. He and 13 started dating when both on the team. 13 has Huntington's disease and is bi-sexual. I think he and Cuddy (House) have a bit of a thing for each other. It has been suggested thru the season and they did share a kiss. You know TV land tho who knows if they will ever hook up. Glad u enjoyed L&O too

We've all mentioned what we would do if (God Forbid) one of our own was arrested for murdering our beloved grandchild. I can see by this doc dump that the A's are still trying to rescue their liar and they're doing it by way of attacking innocent people. I can't identify except to say that I might (if there was any life left in me) suggest that she get some mental help so she could adjust to prison. But I'd only suggest it once then leave.
As for her defense, I'd give them the information they need to help keep her there and go on with live accepting that I spawned a very evil seed. I'd stay off the damn airwaves as well. I'd grieve both of them and never look at liar again, in pictures either!
The A's are trying to push water uphill, are they kidding? Seems like they are going to go down fighting but they are clearly an accessory to the crime in that sense.
Poor Caylee. :rose: I Hope the state defends her successfully. I doubt they'll have a hard time doing that. Hard evidence is what got her the DP to begin with. Eff the rest of that noise!

Depending on the day and how House has treated her LOL She has always been there for him. I luv it when he talks about her clothes and her azz. Dang funny stuff.

Yeppers! Those are actually called "California stops" or "the California roll", so it must be official.
I'm good about letting people lane change as long as they have their blinker on. You wouldn't believe how shocked people are when I let them in, grovelling waves of gratitude out the window. I hope they pay it forward. I'm no saint, though-no blinker, and IT'S ON!!!!:chicken:
 Yikes! I hope I never have to drive in California!!
I do have to tell a bit on myself: I was at a stoplight in town when this young punk with a hopped up car, music blaring, too cool to look at anyone else, pulled up beside me. Now, I'm always getting teased by my kids how I have a 'granny' car. I knew I had it under the hood so when the light changed to green I left him in the dust. At the next stoplight he looked over at me, then looked again as if he couldn't believe that this old lady had outdone him. I smiled and waved (adding insult to injury). I didn't even try at the next light and he smoked me but it was a funny tale to tell at the supper table and the kids' faces were priceless! :D

Many years ago I had a pretty fast Mustang. One of those types pulled up beside me at a stop light and starting trying to pick a street race. I noticed a police car about three cars behind me that he could not see. I nodded at the light (a sign to him we could race when the light turned green) Well when the light changed he squeeled tires and took off. I, on the other hand left normally and just waited until the nice officer blasted by me going after him. I laughed my butt off at that guy when I drove by with him getting his ticket. I never street raced. Ya wanna race meet me at the drag strip. Not on the street.

AHA - another man/boy on the loose! The worst part is that after the youngest son got his 2nd car (that he just totaled), Pops had a race with him on Interstate 84 on the way home with it using MY car! I just don't understand their frame of mind. I have to get mad before I take action of any kind. The son is a mechanic and knows his stuff. Pops knows a lot too. I did better at knowing more than DH back when we first married and I used to know how to tell what was wrong with a car because I'd hung around my Dad every night while he was tinkering with the engines of the cars making sure they were top-notch perfect. Now everything is too computerized!

I am incensed over this Roman Polanski thing, I can't believe he has hundreds of supporters among the Hollywood crowd. He is a pedophile. He pled guilty to drugging and sodomizing a 13 year old girl. Deborah Winger says it has been over 30 years since the event and he should be freed. If she is suggesting the statute of limitations has passed it does not apply in case in which he was arrested, pled and then skipped town to avoid turning himself in to be sentence. Sorry Ms Winger guess like a lot of Hollywood bozos you do not get the law at all. Who cares if time has passed, remember when Medger Evans killer was brought to justice after 25 some years? Should he have been excused from justice. I think not.How about some of the pedophile priests, it has been a while right, give'm a pass. Also she also mentions his talent. Really, so if someone is talented, famous and rich we should forget the whole thing.? I wonder if it was one of these Hollywood Stars children were plied with booze and drugs and raped they would want to drop it. I realize the victim says she has put it behind her, well good for her, but it is the state of CA that can't forget these crimes against children. As for the judge maybe backpedaling on the agreed sentence, they could have dropped their plea and gone to trial or appealed. He says he could of got 50 years which is just BS. Shame on Hollywood for excusing him of child rape because he is a famous rich director.I would love to get my hands on that petition that has those names on it to forgive and forget.

That old pig is 78 years old. They should rip his useless dick off. The only good that came out of this case is the victim was validated financially. She sued him and got a huge payoff. But money cannot undo the damage. Her life went shipwrecked the moment he put his filthy hands on her as a child. No compensation is ever going to be enough.
When her mother called the police, she was used as an example of what happens when you squeal on a perp. There has to be a better way to handle this crap. She's still trying to make it go away by forgiving him. There is no forgiveness for that. NONE! Our system is still in infant stages. Those who defend him should go with him. The media should grow up and leave the victim alone. She's broken.

So I guess those darned 13 year old girls can be such temptresses to a perverted famous director. ! Pfft! That's bizarre that she said say such a thing because I was under the impression if any woman , 13 or 23 said no and stop and it hurts, it was forced rape. Whoopi is way off, even if the girl had been of age which she was not, saying no and crying and saying stop is rape rape. Guess she is old school and believes only boogie men in bushes can rape rape. There goes any respect I had for her....

Let's see, would it have been rape, rape if someone would have done that to her when she was 13? I would venture to say it would have been called worse than rape, rape.
The problem is this, and other rapes are about power, not sex. He chose drugs and alcohol to assert power instead of a knife or gun. No difference.

Agreed. I find it somewhat amusing (on a strange level) that a famous actor uses a racial slur and the Hollywood community is ready to hang the offender. You may not say anything offensive - you may , however, do whatever you want to a 13 year old. Funny how they are so quick to excuse him of all wrongdoing.
I do understand why the victim is not so keen on bringing all this up again at this point of her life. She did win a civil suit in France and has moved on with her own recovery - she had to, no one was doing anything aggressive to bring him back to the US. She has a husband, children and a new life. There were people who did not know she was "the one". Now they do.
It doesn't change the fact I think he should be returned to the US, but I do understand where the victim is coming from now in her life.

I don't think it's normal people who are supporting Chester the Molester. I was reading the comments on HuffPo, which usually leans in the Hollywood liberal direction, and comments were over 90% enraged at him (and Whoopi for what she said)...so it has nothing to do with philosophy, but rather, the atmosphere people live in. I have a friend in the industry, and some of her stories...total hedonism.
For all these Hollywood folks who are defending him...I wonder what THEY think THEY should be allowed to get away with for their ART!

She does not want to testify, and wants the case closed....I'm finding this case really fishy, ya know.
Think of the girls in CT who were date raped by that jock who went on the lam for what, 15 years.........they lived for the day to get on the stand and be vindicated..... Why has she been so against this going to trial? Going back years, she has been saying 'forget it'. A long time.
Posting this link of the trial transcripts....http://geekslovesex.com/roman-polanski-underage-rape-trial-transcript-original-documents.
So, I'm thinking.........
At 13 she was not a virgin. Already had sex at 13? Even in 1978, 13 was Young. She admitted she had already done Quaaludes....when she was 'young'. Hmmm...how young? She distinctly remembers it was a quaalude because SHE identified it saying 'Rorer 714' and She knew what it was. She broke it up, the pill. Was it because she thought she could handle it, and then was afraid he mother would find out what she Did do, and there would be hell to pay? Was money a factor here? Is that why the only thing he pleaded to was 'statutory rape' ~ sex with a minor, and not all the other stuff?
Understand, I'm not saying she's not a victim..I'm just saying from reading the transcripts, her demeanor, etc, etc..........something's fishy in Denmark.
I just can't put my finger on it.

Hey no worries OS. Maybe she was all caught up in who he was. If she was that experienced with men and drugs at that age she obv. had her own issues going on. Maybe as of the present it's just a road she doesn't wanna go down and dredge up all the sordid details. It has been a really long time. At the end of the day he was the adult and she the child.

What makes men chase women thay have no intention of marrying?
The same urge that makes dogs chase cars they have no intention of driving.
What is a man's view of safe sex?
A padded headboard.
Do you know what the punishment for bigamy is?
Two mothers -in-law.
How many men does it take to change a light bulb?
None, they just sit there in the dark and complain.

I'm two years older than the victim. By the time I was 13 I knew what a lot of drugs looked like - due to friends having much older siblings - and I lived in a rinkydink town in the middle of nowhere. If I had been interested they were certainly available. I think her mother may have been a bit permissive/naive. I'm not sure what to call it. Some would say neglectful, but it sounds like my mother. From 6th grade on I raised myself. She made some bad choices, so did I, but time marches on and she seems to have gotten her life together.
He gave her champagne during the photo shoot which would lower her inhibitions. I was offered alcohol as a 13 yr old by the husband of a family I babysat for regularly. I believe it was Rianiti (sp?) Lambrusco. I didn't take him up on his offer and I walked home. I never told anyone and continued to babysit for them for many years. He tried multiple times to arrange more than just babysitting his kids. I was raised to not say a word, ever, about anything. When I look back I think I was fortunate that nothing bad did ever happen with him.
The State still needs to prosecute. I'm not saying he should get away with his crime by any means.

Reading what she said I really doubt she is recovering. Simply supressing her feelings because they are too painful to remember. If she was in the process or completely recovered as she say she is the court action would not cause her anymore pain. She has supressed the pain and now it is coming back to the surface.
This court action shouldn't be about her, it should be about showing perverts like this one that we will not put up with this garbage. He has been found guilty she should not be involved in the court proceedings unless she wants to be.

Going back to 1978 and the late 70's in general...Whew, Wild and Crazy years!!! 'Nuff said... I was 19-20 then....so I hear you. Thank God you remained safe and had the presence of mind to do what you did.
As for her mom, if the kid was 13 at the time, the mom grew up in the 60's...hmmmmm. Permissive is a good word. In this day and age, especially because of what I know from life in general, ain't no way, no how my 13 year old would be going to a photo shoot with Anyone Anywhere Alone. Nope. Not then, Not now.

Shady, nothing bad happened because you listened to your instincts. You paid attention to that feeling inside of yourself that something wasn't right and you listened. The damage in that respect (her being known as the victim) has already been done with the recent publicity. She won't have to attend a trial, being televised everyday, @ least. He's already been convicted. He just needs to return to serve his sentence.

But if we let everyone who has gone through severe tragedy just mess with underage girls, why have statuatory rape at all? As for her enticing him, he likes young girls, in between his pleading and sentencing they allowed him to go to France to finish a movie where he began to date 15 year Natasha Kiinski. Hmm... pedophile pattern here to me. Also as for those who think she may have been sexually advanced and knew about drugs, does that mean if a girl or woman is not a virgin , then it is not really rape, rape, when she says no . He responded to her saying no and it hurts by raping her anally. I heard his sister in law say he went to a psychologist who determined it was not rape, rape, it was consensual sex and she lured him. The psychologist that he paid by the way said he was not a pedophile, just a man who could not resist young girls. What crap!

She does not have to testify, surely she has a lawyer who told her , he has already pled. She does not have to show up at sentencing. He should also be punished for fleeing. If it is okay to flee because you are afraid of your sentence then the Max Factor heir who fled his trial and was found in Mexico should get sympathy and not punishment, right? And this idea that time has passed? Imagine if these pedophile priests who were caught years after could use the defense that yeah they did it but it was a long time ago. How do you think that would go over? How about Jaycee Dugard that was a long time ago? Dismiss it, strike up a petition for that guy! I hope to God this idiot isn't still practicing. Can you imagine the state his patients are in if he just finds ways to justify their actions? I would hope he had a continuing education session where he learned that A PEDIOPHILE IS ONE WHO CANNOT RESIST YOUNG GIRLS (in this case, in other cases, young boys.) Besides, no offense to SIL, but the psychologist isn't the one who determines if an action is a crime--it's the law. Just because some quack psychiatrist wants to make his patient feel better, or in this case, get big bucks from wealthy patient, doesn't make it not a crime. I wonder, if the girl had gone to this psychiatrist, what he would have said to HER, if she went to him before he knew who the perp was? Betcha he would have told her a crime had been committed against her, and that it wouldn't have mattered if she "consented" or not because a consent from a 13 y/o isn't a consent, etc etc etc.
I didn't follow the case back then (of course, no CTV and all that then :D) but, if it had been televised, and the psychiatrist said that, he would be sitting right beside the medical doctor who says (in the Laci Peterson case) that a woman's due date is determined by when the baby shower is. Now, really, if anyone still trusts him as a doctor, they are not thinking clearly. I guess, in the case of the psychiatrist, people might not be thinking clearly, but I could see where they might want to go this guy--he'd tell them what they wanted to hear. Would validate any crime they wanted to commit!!!!:chicken:

I don't remember the woman's name, but there was in the last year or so, a woman who lived a normal, law-abiding live in CA, had for some 20 years or so. It was found out that she had escaped from prison in the East somewhere, from a sentence on drug charges. She was facing not only serving her sentence, but also the escape charges. Which sounded about right to me.
The hulabaloo @ the time was--oh, for goodness sake, if her "crime" had occured in the past decade, she might not have been facing prison time @ all, it's nothing by today's standards, etc etc etc. That may well be true, but the fact was, there were specific charges she was found guilty of, there was a specific sentence to serve, and she needed to serve it out.
Just like in KS, even tho we have the death penalty today, the murders they were able to charge BTK with occured during a time when there was no DP, so he could not face the DP. And, in the Martha Moxley case--IIRC, they could only deal w/Skakel on the terms that were in place during the time he is accused of killing Martha. Especially regarding juvenile vs charging as an adult, which I don't think was done @ all back then, altho it is quite common these days.
Now, there may be a double standard when it comes to celebrity sentencing, but it would seem to me that RP had a sweeter deal back then--if he was facing the same charges now, he might have been facing a longer sentence. Especially since, in today's world, there would have been some high profile attorney who would have taken up the cause for the girl, there is more outrage about pediophelia. I think because it is reported more, and reported on "special" people more, and just out in the open more. Altho, IMO, we are way to lenient on pediophiles now. They should be locked away forever. Period. Where no other child can be harmed physically or psychologically by the perp. Period.

ITA.. yes shadeyD. He could have gotten sex anywhere he wanted from any woman. The fact that he was attracted to a kid is the sick part. Maybe she feels restitution was made? Maybe she signed off when she got the money. In either case I also understand why she wants this to go away. It's been a long embarrassing drama for her.
I was approached by a married my in his 30's when I took driving lessons at 16. His name was Ralph. He took me out in the car for lessons and drove me to a woodsy park. He reach over for me and I pushed hard. He got scared and took me back to the building where the classes were. I never went back but my father went to pick up my certificate that I didn't earn. Weee, I got 100% of the questions correct. AHole knew better than to flunk me.
About 5 years later I was at a barbecue in the local park. He was nested right next to our site with is lovely family. I walked up to him and said, "Hi Ralph!" He chit his pants. I never told a soul about him, but he didn't know that. I just wanted to ruin his day. I did. They left. I think he got a belly ache. :hat: I will never forget that bald bastid. he looked like a frog. Lotta nerve trying to make it with a fresh young teen. I wasn't too shabby then. Not that I was a ten, but I was a kid.

When my girls turned 16 I taught them how to drive myself, as obviously I taught myself how to drive. Those perverts leave a mark on us don't they? Innocent trust disappears.

Snoop Dog Whoopi, Angelina, All the black rappers, and Gladys Knight, Ashely Judd, you name it, these people wanted him off DR and FREE! Okay, I think I need mental help. I have a wedding to go to in two weeks. I bought a black oufit to wear since it is an evening wedding. It has wide leg car wash pants and a sleeveless trapeze type pleated top with sparkles around the neck. I want to get a lightweight shawl since it is a beach wedding at 6:30 pm but didn't want a complete black shawl or wrap. I went to Joann Fabrics and found a fabric that I really liked, it was sheer black with a black design. Upon closer inspection, the design was a spider web! So I moved on to the next one that I liked, it was sheer black with a silver sparkly design. Again I looked at it for a minute and realized that the silver sparkles formed skulls! See where I'm going with this...finally I saw another black sheer with red. i love red and it looks good on me so I pulled out the bolt and unraveled it to see how much was there  I realized that the red was to mimic blood splatter! Be careful when buying fabric before Halloween. Can you just umagine showing up at my nephew's wedding and looking like Morticia Adams or a goth murder victim! :D

They seem to stay that way. I only read there on a rare occasion. Mostly just for entertainment.
They seem to stay that way. I only read there on a rare occasion. Mostly just for entertainment.
I go there every couple of weeks or months, mostly just to read. I don't do days when there has been say, a doc dump. I would start reading along and have trouble keeping up. If I stopped to post, I would be about 15 pages behind by the time I submitted the post. Besides, sometimes it's a lot of arguing actually, acting like 2 y/o's. "You don't know what you're talking about!! If you can't get the facts straight, maybe you shouldn't be posting here." "I do, too, have my facts straight!!! You wouldn't know a straight fact if it stared you in the face!! YOU need to quit posting here." And, of course words about the other poster's intelligence and stuff. Then, a few pages later, "OHhhh, I just love this message board!!! It's so not like some other boards where posters pound each other. We agree to disagree in the most polite and tactful way!!!!" Then, a couple of pages, or even posts later, they are at it again!!!:biggrin::biggrin:
Now, I'm not saying we're saints on this board, but anytime I have seen some near to fighting words, it's been over in a flash. Probably because it seems whichever 2 posters are @ odds w/each other are the only ones who post about it, and let it go pretty quickly. I think one of the problems on the other board is that some others have to jump in and carry the disagreement on for pages and pages, and feelings to end up getting hurt. It goes on for days after the original 2 have long since made up!!!! ;)
Anyway, this is my favorite board, with my favorite kind and polite fellow posters. Also, compassionate and helpful and......really, tho. Everyone's nice here, IMO.

I just love being a Putana in general! You should see my shoes. I don't know how I'm going to walk, but they are so fabulous that I just might bring a dolly and have them wheel me around like Hannibal Lechter.
They are black patent leather strappy sandals with a 3 inch heel. My younger brother will be more than willing to wheel me around as long as I have to wear that mask that keeps my mouth shut. :D

I looked, not yet. I did find a site with some highlights, but last night is not included yet. Her show is on HLN. I have not seen it either, so if I find it I'll post it for you.

Oh Lord, you have me in tears.
I also bought a new black clutch purse because the one I have is too small. These kids who are getting married today have drinking as their number one priority not the food. Last wedding I went to, I left still hungry!
This bag is large enough that I can put a few of those stuffed bagel bar thingies in it. I am sure I am going to have to share. I was hoping to fit a nice foot long sub in there, but the smell would give me away. My favorite is the tuna sub.....

Naw that was the surprising part gator-there was way too much food. Thats why they found it funny  Gawd that so sucks leaving a wedding hungry-especially for those who travel a distance. I think its a big  to scrimp on food in the budget. So many other places to cut back. Up here what is popular instead of the free bar for guests we have a toonie bar. Guest pay 2.00 per drink of any kind and whomever is footing the bar bill pays the balance. Oh and to clarify for those who dont know. We no longer have 1.00 or 2.00 dollah bills. We have large coins a loonie (1.00) and toonie (2.00). Only thing i dont like is if ya have say 30 dollahs in change your purse is so heavy

When I pick up the weebles from school, we go to Burger King and buy French Fries for the seagulls that gather there. The property next door is /was a strip mall that has been demolished and I park way over on the side where cars don't go. I tell them the Seagulls know my car and I throw out one french fry and hoards of them come flying over to us. (They believe me) It's so much fun when they get out of the car and throw those fries and all the gulls go squawking and arguing about who will get a fry.
I told them yesterday the seagulls are costing nawny a lot of money, so they suggested I take some "old bread or sumthin" for today. So I did LOL! I even had some cookies no one liked and brought them. The oldest weeble said, "It's better to give it to them nawny, than the garbage."
When we leave the seagulls, we go get ice cream. One of them asked me if I had enough money for ice cream and I said, yes, and it's better to spend it on you than the seagulls. :) Well, they worry about the seagulls now, but they know they don't eat ice cream.
They're so brilliant. God love the children! :)

I never understood those 20 thousand dollar weddings, and more in some cases. I remember when $100 dollar gift envelope was enough. Now it's not. Last wedding we went to I told poppa, you can't put $100. dollars in the card because the meal per person is almost that much. He got so mad! LOL! They had a chocolate fountain on the dessert table, and colored lights under the tables. He said, for $200 dollars they can deliver my desert! I had to stifle him all day. We ate a piece of steak that was smaller than the palm of my hand. The brides son gave the toast.. lol! They invested a half year's salary to a 5 hour party. I can't take it! ROTFL! We came up the hard way and these weddings make no sense to us. We remember when that kind of money bought homes. We're getting old huh? ;)
Poppa said :cuss: Why the hell are they spending so much on rabbit food that won't fill up a rabbit? Why don't they invest it in something more worth while like a house? For the love a mike, their divorce won't even cost that much! Bah fongool! I told him to calm down and get with the new age way or he's going to embarrass himself. He said, What do I care? I don't even like these people.
I know a couple that filed for a divorce before the wedding album and the diamond were paid for. And, she gave her 2 carat diamond to her mother. I knew the husband and he wasn't a happy camper. :(

But, Nawny--french fries???!!!!!! Haven't you been listening to the food police about how bad those french fries are for your health??? Wouldn't they also be clogging the arteries of the poor defenseless seagulls? :D The weebles' suggestion about bread crumbs and probably even the cookies is healthier for the poor birdies (not to say anything about probably cheaper. ;))

Amy, do you have seagulls in Kansas? They think any day they aren't eating festering garbage or a rotting carcass is a banner day! Fries are definitely healthier than decomp. And I can personally attest...not defenseless! They are big swimming pigeons, which are, of course, feathered rats.

People do weddings here that cost twice that, easily.

Many wedding halls will not do weddings with less than -- wait for it -- 300 guests.

I would have to invite a lot of people I either don't know or don't like to get to 300 people.
I intentionally picked a place that only held 75 people for my wedding. I didn't want to have to invite a lot of co-workers and stuff like that. No one's feeling ended up getting hurt since the place only held 75 - LOL - if they only knew I did that on purpose.

yes it is. You can change into another outfit and look even more glamorus. I am typing in the dark. dh watching tv. Hey Beem when I was younger and worked on the ambulance I wore 5 1/2 but they could not find the black boots small enough and of course they did not make them for woman so I got to wear tennis shoes. everyone was so jealous until everytime I got blood on them. ickkkkkkkkkkkkk:eek: my feet were too small and I kept falling and spraining my ankle. it was a pain. now I am 6-7 1/2 depending on where I go. I would love heels once in a while but I am tall enough already!!

GOod morning Beem! I've been up since 4am and now I feel like going to sleep. I think I should leave the country so my waking hours will be normal. ;) Yes that painting is one I did last year. It's my ballerina girl. Thank you I'm glad you like art. :-) Of course I didn't even like it enough to give it away. Not my favorite. My yellow umbrella girl is at the framer. I liked that one.
My bathroom guy is coming today to put a pan on the shower floor. It's almost done. Tile guy comes on Monday. My house is still a dust bowl. :( I hate them all. I hope their wives make them miserable all weekend. ;):punch:
Ah, but you will love them when it is all finished and you can live on one floor instead of two.

Nawny, Poppa is right and where can I find that 2 carat diamond??
If I ever get married, I'd probably do it small, maybe on Block Island in Rhode Island with just Nawny and Poppa as witnesses. now, I just need the groom...http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-eatdrink013.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

Sky rats. :( But I can watch them for hours and hours. There is something telepathic going on and it intrigues me. I get so rivited when they are around me. :)

Poppa has a 2 carat pinky ring.. lol! He's so selfish. :hat: Poppa loves jewelry. He said if he were born a woman, he'd have a room just for jewelry. He's a nut!
Yes do it small. Our wedding was held at the Victorian in Mass, with 50 guests. Those 6 figure parties are not weddings, they are statements. It's crazy. Love is love.
I always remember the story (talk about politics BoB) In conn, there was a couple with opposing families. The couple was engaged for years because they couldn't please everybody. Heavy duty family traditions were at war over how/where/when the wedding was to take place. Finally they managed to settle everyone down and had the traditional night before party. That night there was a bitter argument over the limos/ who was riding in which etc. The two families went nuts and there was a huge fight in the house. The couple walked out to the back property at the brides house and did a murder suicide. He shot her, then himself. That's how insane things got with those 2 families. They believed they would be in peace and with each other finally. Sometimes it's better to elope than to be people pleasers. There is no way to please everyone anyway. I wonder how important the limousines are now? Idiots!

That sounds so romantic! :-)
When Joe and I planned our wedding, I asked a childhood friend of mine to be the MOH. My sisters never liked her because she had some problems with alcohol and though out the years they always had issues no matter how good I found her to be. That one Grinchy sister went at it with me because I refused to let her interfere with anything having to do with my marriage to Joe. We're sisters, so I let her have her say, but not her way. My troubled friend ended up dying young and I never regretted my decision because I have her forever on video tape and she made my day so much fun. She stayed sober that day, just for me. That took a lot of courage and love.
Note for the record: My sisters can drink her under ten tables. No one is in the position to judge anyone. We do what we come to earth to do IMO.
RIP Roe:rose:

Awesome, You have a lot of shawls. I don't wear the ones I have either. Can I come to the wedding so I can wear one? They just hang there and get ignored. You're right any of those colors will do.
They clean their car together? I have something called a car wash? It's 7 bucks and well worth it. Of course this week there are ice cream stains, lollipop wrappers, cookie crumbs and stale french fries all over my back seat. It's a weeble wagon. I need a nawny-van. LOL! I recently had it detailed and you'd never know it.
My son woke up this morning to find his wife's car on blocks. Just last night she said, I"m turning off these ghetto lights. (Sensor lights) This morning she wishes she didn't do that. They live in a nice suburban neighborhood. I lived in the heart of the city of Bridgeport for 14 years, and no one ever stole my wheels. It's a strange world eh?

Seagulls? Kansas? Uhmmm....out in western KS here, we don't even have rivers or streams. Well, some manmade fishing holes, but there's not much water in them. I think of seagulls being more on the coasts, nearer to the seas or oceans? @ any rate, I don't think I've ever seen one..not even the time I went to the ocean in CA.
I don't know much about them, except they look like pretty (usually white) birds in pictures.

For sure, then, I would have to elope or something. Unless I just made it an open invitation to the whole town, I wouldn't have 300 people on the guest list. That would save me some money right there, I guess.

Wyoming? I've never given that a thought. Hmmm. I'm such the city girl. I like the action. When we went to see the Blue Ridge mountains I was a pest in the car. I said, Okay! Okay, fences, cows, sheep, fences, grass, cows, more fences, green is green, let's get outta heah. Whoops, yeah, the mountains are nice, I'm hungry.

Yes we have those front loaders. I have the washer, but not the matching dryer. It actually weighs the clothes, so if you put in one item, it fills only to a certain level on its own. I got it 2 years ago but the dryer I had was still good so I didn't get that one replaced. Now I have to. I don't like the front loader washers. You can't watch it fill up. It's like a mystery process going on in there. I used to like to stare at the washer filling up. It was my only form of meditation.. ;)

I got it 2 years ago but the dryer I had was still good so I didn't get that one replaced. Now I have to. I don't like the front loader washers. You can't watch it fill up. It's like a mystery process going on in there. I used to like to stare at the washer filling up. It was my only form of meditation.. ;)
Have you found that it takes forever to wash a load, too? It's like an hour and a half cycle on my Maytag front loader...

Yeah i am beginning to question the energy savings on new appliances. Ya may save on water but ya make it up on the hydro bill (electric bill in the U.S.) LOL I am Americanized LOL

The fastest one I wasn't the driver on. The Leadfoot Maharani got us 1316 miles in 12 hours 10 minutes. Yes, Laramie Wyoming to Berkeley California in 12 hours. My job: every time we crossed a state line, visually identify what the state police looked liked, then she'd floor it again.
She thought since the speedometer only went to 85...she was only doing 85
With hubby, I think it took 4 days to Toronto. He's slow:tongue:
LMAO I hear ya. When our eldest son first moved State side for school twice but thats another story (two different states) we had to drive in order to move the big stuff. I can attest to the fact and we were warned Illinois was the worst state for cops. They were everywhere:shrug:

I don't pay much attention once the clothes are in. I just come here and try to forget the laundry while I complain about it. ;) I think it's 70 minutes yep. When I was a single mother, I had to do a lot of running and had to work crazy hours, so I found this Chinese laundry, you know the rest. lol! I loved it. All wrapped up, folded and ready to wear. 18 bucks a week. Gimmi that!
Poppa helps but he won't do Chinese laundry. Give me anything else; dishes, dusting, vac, paint the house, sweep the garage, clean the attic, yard work, grocery shopping, ironing, hang drapes, cook ....
I vant to be free! :hat:

I'm so not a country girl. When I'm in NYC, I'm so giddy.
Ooo, look at that guy talking to himself! Did you see that taxi cut off that crippled woman?
Dahlink I love you but give me Park Avenue! ;)
I've come to love fences and cows...they have never committed any crimes.
NYC: Left Penn Station and was walking down Seventh and 34th, just outside of Macys when I head a loud sound and people started to run. A stop sign flew down the street. A steet crazy was using a stop sign as a javelin.
Walking on Sixth Avenue I saw a man walk towards another man who was walking towrds him on the same side of the street. He hauled off and punched the nicely dressed man right in the face. He went down like a ton of bricks.
I saw a guy rip the necklace right off of a woman and run off between buildings.
Luckily missed jumpers twice by less than a minute....give me cows.

That's okay! We point and laugh at tourists here: layers, people, layers! There are whole stores in the tourist areas that sell nothing but fleeces and sweatpants, most of which have humiliating Alcatraz jokes on them.
LOL!! I saw that BoB! I bought them for the weebs. Black and white stripes, yes I did it, I did it. :D I won't wear anything with writing on it. I've never worn a tee shirt in my life. Not even to sleep. lol!

Really?! My front loader has a couple of different cycles - normal is 45 mins up to heavy duty 1 hour 15 mins. I do the extra rinse cycle on my clothes (Irish skin - can't handle a single rinse LOL) and that takes another 10 mins.
Sara - great idea getting married that way!

I like doing laundry - I'm on my fifth load now. I appreciate having my own washer and dryer in the house. When I lived in an apartment I had to use the laundry bldg with some real questionable characters.

T's make some of the best sleepwear Nawny or the best cleaning rags-cuz thats where mine end up LOL Everyone has their glitches i guess with the touristy stuff. I guess the one that bugs the hay outta me is the Niagara Falls stuff. For such a world travelled wonder it has gotta be the tackiest tourist town i have ever seen. I'm speaking of the Canadian side. The few nice places there are-way over priced

Awww that sounds like fun. I don't like cold ballrooms either. We suffer enough with the hurtin shoes and that sounds like such a nice wedding, why didn't someone get the AC off? I'm big on approaching the staff when there is a problem. I was part of a staff in restaurants once upon a time. I've been approached for a lot less. I'm glad you had fun Beem. Bayer Aspirin's fix the hurtin hair. :)
Note: My Maytag dryer broke down yesterday. Weeeeeeee..... I think I'll just throw the wet clothes away.
I love it cold. Cold, cold, cold. I don't put on a sweater until it reaches 40 degrees outside. Don't even own a coat. I'm in shorts and teeshirt year round. Yesterday I was sitting in a restaurant and I was wearinf a tank top, shorts and sandals. A football game was on and everyone was wearing coats and jackets. I was envious - it was Michigan.

Been there too Gator. Ooooo ya just don't know who used the washer and what went in it. I was the only kid in the family that helped my mother do laundry. So it's been over 50 years of laundry. I say, laundry is my personal hell. lol! When I was married to my ex and our washer went, he brought me home a scrub board. I actually did use it. At one point we had a washer and a dryer, he paid off a gambling debt with my dryer. I was 25 years old and the mother of 3 kids.
I didn't like him. I love poppa much better :)
