Sounds great! What's EVOO? I know chicken is a diet pill. If we ate only chicken we'd be stick figures.
I ate chicken soup tonight, left over from Wed. I didn't feel like cooking. Poppa offered to take me for Fish&Chips but I declined. Am I good? I'm good, so good. (I was chompin at the bit, but I ate the soup instead) :punch:
Some diet gurus frown upon my choice of chicken, tho. Fried chicken. From Dillons--beats the heck out of chicken from KFC. Regular crispy chicken on my Oriental chicken salad from Applebee's. Some good ol' chicken tenders, best also from Dillons.
The best part of the chicken is the crispy crust. There can be no crispy crust without the skin. Unfortunately, that is what the fat adheres to, so I'm busted!!!

That's a great choice with Gator!
I totally understand the daughter. I think I would drive by and stalk the house forever...I loved that goofy neurotic dog! He was afraid of linoleum floors. The only exit to the backyard of our house is through the linoleumed kitchen. Every trip through the kitchen was hilarious-he would do a dance so his paws would touch the floor as little as possible.
That sounds like it was such fun to watch. I love animals with quirky habits, it makes them so humanlike. One of the most funny stories I remember about Gator is: He had to go out at about 2 in the morning and of course I had to go with him. So, I was standing on the patio and he had just finished his business and was standing next to me. I was just looking at the beautiful night sky when we heard this unearthly loud screetch/howl from an animal. At the same time, we looked at each other and turned and ran to the door. Neither of us was going to have any business with whatever made that sound. But the fact that we both turned and looked at each other like  and then :chicken: led me to believe that he was part human.

Ahhh yep, yer busted! LOL!
I'm beginning to like Applebee's again. We stopped going there about 5 years ago because it was changing for the worse. I went twice last month and it was great. We don't have Dillons here. :( But, at Applebee's you can do the low fat thing, even Mediterranean thing too! There was no reason I had to get the RB sliders with the grease falling out of the bun, nor did I have to dip it into the ajus. But I did and I'm busted too. I remember when I served pizza at the restaurant, or cheesy meaty calzones and, the patrons almost unanimously ordered Diet coke. Fun!

Poppa has a very close friend who is a Jewish attorney from Brooklyn NY. This man is a character. He was very seriously overweight. It was difficult for him to do much more than sit in his throne and be arrogantly brilliant. He ended up going through a series of heart surgeries which scared the hell out of him. Being an eccentric minded guy to begin with, he went on an all chicken diet. He refused anything with any kind of dressing on it, included salad. He bought multiple cases of canned (yuk) chicken, white meat only. I didn't know they sold it in cans till then. It looks like tuna.
He lost all the excess weight the first year. He went completely OCD. I thought he was kinda pale though. Now he's been coming back to earth but he still refuses to eat anything more than bland food. No carbs. He's the most miserable SOB I ever saw. Jeepers, he used to be such a happy fella.
Some people just don't have any balance. If he sees good food at a party, he gets mad. His poor wife can't expose him to anything good and she's miserable too because she has to sneak eat in her own house.
Poppa tells him, "you need to rent an Island and go live alone, you're an A** hole." ;)

Hi Sara!
I haven't read much of the book yet, but so far I love it. It's non fiction and it addresses the unconscious part of our brain that is activated during the first 2 seconds of seeing something, or meeting someone. I can tell you by all accounts I've read so far, that we are right about liar.
Malcolm Gladwell, the author, uses examples of instinctive thinking in short stories that bring you to exactly how it works.
Example: The Statue That Didn't Look Right.
In September if 1983, an art dealer by the name of Giafranco Becchina approached the J. Paul Getty museum in Ca. He had in his possession , he said, a marble statue dating from the 6th century BC. It was what is known as, a kouros.
This kouros was a sculpture of a nude male, youth standing with his leg forward and his arms by his sides. There are only about 200 kouroi in existence and most have been recovered badly damaged, or in fragments from grave-sights or archaeological digs. But this one was almost perfectly preserved.
It was an extraordinary find Becchina's asking price was just under $10 million.
The Getty moved cautiously. It took the kouros on loan and began a thorough investigation. Was the statue (7 feet tall) consistent with other known kourros? The answer appeared to be yes.
(I'll skip the belly of the story)
What happened was, Becchina gave Getty's legal department a sheaf of documents relating to its more recent history. Many specialists in the field came to examine the surface of the statue with high resolution stereomicroscopes. Such experts as Stanley Margolis, from the university of California. He removed a core sample measuring one centimeter by two centimeters from just under the knee of the statue and analyzed it with an electron microscope. It was concluded that the statue had a thin layer of calcite. margolis told the Getty that dolomite can turn to calcite only over the course of hundreds if not, thousands of years.. Other experts studied and found it to be authentic.
The story goes on about the authenticity of the Kouros and Getty bought it.
Other experts later described some of their feelings when they viewed the statue. Thomas Hoving the director of the Metropolitan museum in NY said the first word that flashed in his mind when he saw the statue was, 'Fresh"
He realized that the thought had popped into his mind because he had dug in Sicily and found bits and pieces of things, and the just don't come out looking like that. He said the piece looked like it had been dipped in the very best cafe' latte' from Starbucks.
Evelyn Harrison, a foremost expert on Greek sculpture said, she had an instinctive reaction that something was amiss. She said if you have ever seen anything come out of the ground, you'd know this statue was never in the ground. Frederico Zeri, another expert on such matters felt the same.
Long story short: When these people (all experts) looked at the kouros, they felt intuitive repulsion. They were absolutely right. The first 2 seconds of looking-- in a single glance--they were able to understand more about the essence of the of the statue than the team at the Getty was able to understand after fourteen months. Blink is a book about those first two seconds.
Gladwell continues to use such examples through out the book. This stuff is going to ruin Casey's trial for those who are defending her

That's a good story. I know how that works! I went down to the Getty to see it, and instantly thought "that ain't right"...Then when I thought about why, it was the texture of the stone: it wasn't right for something that had been buried, and the color was off. Just like Evelyn Harrison said. People who have excavated knew right away. I guess art historians took a little longer.
PS: I have the archaeologists bias vs. art historians, although my degrees technically include art history, lol!

I am always interested in findings of a dig, but more so, I enjoy the stuff about the "first few seconds" he talks about. I've been chasing the workings of the unconscious mind just about all of my life. I have these times when I know that I know that I know something, but it is often too unbelievable to share. After the fact, I often say, "I knew that!" but no one believes me. I guess I'm an old soul but o_s already took that moniker. ;)
I'm going to enjoy this book. He goes on to talk about the reason the art historians did not get the unconcious message that the statue was a fake.
Awww, ART History,, I would study that if I could live my life over again. And I'd love to sell hot dogs off a cart by the shore too, and than again I'd love to study LE and baking. ;)

I frankly give a lot of credence to gut instincts. Then following up for evidence...
Yeah, the kouros was on display in a "Fakes or Not" exhibit. It was actually well done, with examples of real things and fakery and frauds with them, with full explanations of why one thing was real and not another. Now, the kouros was on display as a "controversial" object. The info and texts for the kouros were very biased in favor of "real"...imo

There are times when I get a hinky feeling about something. Even on the boards here, I get a hinky feeling about one of the players in a case. But, the player is usually a "sensitive" player, one that, if someone were to post something negative about, the whole board would come crashing down on my head!!! So, I say nothing, and, lo and behold the "sensitive" player is either the bad guy, or @ least not such a nice person after all. But, too late to say--aha!!! I knew it all along, because--who's to believe I really saw thru the hinky player @ the first, because I didn't say anything then?

Yes, me too! Isn't that stuff great! Today I saw a blurb on CNN where they found a wall in Jerusalem. I didn't get to the whole story yet. CNN is my home page and the world news always has something real interesting. I'm getting tired of Michael Jackson stuff. The man is a token and I'm getting the feeling they don't even see him as a human anymore. Good grief, it took too long to put the boy to rest. Everything is a show, but I guess that's all the Jackson's know anymore. Their hearts have been so prostituted. Too much money, not enough compassion, I think. They have forgotten their beginnings where the best things in life were free. Sad.

Here's a question: If your sign is based on the configuration at your time of birth, wouldn't moving to another time zone mess up the predictions? Your are correct! If you are born in another country, you're time of birth will make a difference in your chart, not your sign. As the time of birth gives you the rising sign all the aspects will be affected.
As for moving to another time zone, no.
The birth chart, can't really predict. It's just a profile of your traits. Some astrologers claim there are ways to predict but it's complex to say the least. And it's too prophesying. (If that's a word) Fo example: Aspects are cross marks from one sign to another. There are 12 houses so if your sun is in the first and it opposes where Saturn was at birth ie 1st and 7th, they call that an opposition and then enter, degrees. It's all math. And yet, not a science. This placement will give testimony to certain traits and possibilities.
It's mind boggling but those who study it and talk the talk make it all sound very incredible and can make sense. I am not an astrologer, but I know the meanings of all the houses, planets and sign traits. So I can blend them together when I see a chart and see the persona of a person very clearly.
I think of all the signs in a chart, and the houses they fall in, as players of instruments in an orchestra. The song they create is the person.
Did that make sense?

On one trip, we ran out of money and were living on the local version of Ritz crackers and apple juice in Barcelona...trying to survive until our flight...I was really afraid we would be calling the embassy on that escapade! It was a wealthy experience...but I was so hungry, lol!
Barcelona.. sigh ~~~ OMG!
I would have fed you had I known BoB.. I am such the feeder. I can't stand seeing anyone hungry! I've given money and food to the most unbelievable types. Especially kids. I remember the face of a little boy who came into my wiener joint one day and held out his hand which had a few cents in it. He said, Miss, do I have enough for a wiener? I said, OMGooness! you have more than enough there! He then asked, "Can I get some for my sisters and brothers too?" I said okay. And he said, well mostly my brother and sister like french fries. LOL! He got me! He became a very good customer.

Okay, don't read this over breakfast, but it's funny.
Now I know that parents should not compare their children and label one smart and the other, well, cute. My pets are like kids to me. Gator was brilliant, even his vet said he was the dog equivilant of a genius. Mac, my Affenpincher, is, well, cute as a button but dumb as a doornail. I found Mac when he was 20 months old. I have done the best I could to fully housebreak him and he's 90%. So when I go out for a whole day, I leave a puppy pad for his use because 7 hrs is about his limit.
I got home yesterday and found "popcorn" on his pad. I don't have popcorn in my house and knew what is was but had no resemblance to. It was small, bright yellow pieces which looked like popcorn. My first reaction was Mac is in liver failure - that it's all bile. I went to the computer and of all times, the internet is down. I wanted to search bright yellow stool.
I found more in my other room and half was "normal" and half was yellow. A piece broke apart and was extremely dry and looked like little dots.
I thought about it and went to a package I received this week that was packed with styrofam "peanuts". I then knew the souce of the "popcorn". Mac eats everything but dog food. He ate the white styrofoam "peanuts" and they became "popcorn size". While travelling through his digestive system, they turned yellow. Hence the case of the popcorn stool. :o

Have a piece of toast. That's better than the diner and it won't kill you. And remember, all those Special K commercials say women who eat a breakfast ("like special K") weigh less than those who don't. I wish deacon were here...they are cutting out a hundreds feet long section out of our Bay Bridge, the main commute artery in the Bay Area, and sliding in a temporary piece in the slot. It was closed Thursday night and is scheduled to open Tuesday morning in time for the commute. Already...do you suspect it ain't gonna happen? I know I'm a pessimist, but come on! It took 6 weeks to replace the broken piece in the earthquake, and this is bigger.
Already, once they cut it apart, the whole bridge shifted because the tension was released. one delay. Some other thing I didn't understand: two delays. Now, this morning, they have found a major crack in a structural support which must be repaired before opening the bridge.(Of course, it was not related at all to cutting an 80 year old bridge into pieces!).
So yeah, Tuesday's commute, and maybe for many days after, will be just delightful. :(

I learned that about not eating breakfast. I am famous for not eating breakfast (unless I'm traveling) My big problem is night time eating. When I was raising my kids, the only time I could eat in peace is at night when they were sleeping and I think I created a new brain path. I still have that problem. I am so sensitive about how I'm feeling when I eat. If there is something going on that interrupts my meal, my appetite shuts down instantly.
I do enjoy dinner with poppa now that there are not4 kids at the table, but it's like lunch and supper is after 10pm for me.

Fortunately I don't commute on it anymore. I was always nervous because cantilevered bridges don't handle earthquakes well. The alpha weeb won three prizes today. She has a sharp eye and it only cost poppa 20 bucks. LOL! I even went on the twirly ride with them. Blink is such a goood book. I want to post excerpts ever other page. But I don't know if the bandwidth can stand a Nawny's Book Club here. ;)
The only hinky I got in the A case is the same one everyone else got--that Casey Anthony murdered her daughter, and that is pretty much my tho't from the first time I heard that Caylee was "missing" for 31 days. I still think Caylee might have died in a fit of rage coming from Casey. I think she might have heard about the chloroform as a baby sitter for Caylee, but I don't think she looked it up because she was thinking of killing Caylee. I do think that the A's figured it out (with or without input from Casey) that Casey killed Caylee, and all the talk, even on the jailhouse video, was an attempt to cover up, find someone else to hang for this.
I think that anyone else associated w/Casey, whether as co-workers or new or old friends are people who were just in the wrong place @ the wrong time, and their lives and worlds have been turned upside down by Casey, but I don't see any of them knowing ANYTHING before the call(s) they got on the 15th or 16th. Heck, some of them had only seen Caylee a couple of times.
My hinky in the Haleigh Cummings case came when I watched that first interview w/Ron....that was the first thing I read/saw about the case. His falling on his knees wailing and then hopping right back up and talking to the reporter in a normal tone of voice, no sign of tears in his eyes or voice--right then and there, my hinky meter went into overload. And, couple with his emphasizing several times in that same interview, in an absolutely whining tone of voice about this all happened when he was just working @ making an honest living. I remember posting right @ the first (don't remember if it was this board or another) about his acting and tho't another poster was going to recommend me being banned or something!!!!
And, with Misti, she has rung hinky from the very beginning, again by how she acted and what she said--and mainly how many times she has changed what she said. Both of them still hit high on the hink-0-meter.
And poor Hasanni---The whole situation was hinky from the minute I heard the first version where the handicap access to a store was A LOCKED ENTRANCE @ THE BACK OF THE STORE. Nope, noway, no how. The Disability Act people would have had them put out of business before they opened their doors if there wasn't a regulation handicap entrance @ THE FRONT OF THE STORE. The disability people don't go for their disabled people being treated as secondclass citizens, and don't go for the entrance being locked!!! Then, that story changed more times than the diapers of a baby w/diarrhea, my hink-o-meter hasn't had time to shut down!!!!
Oh, I was @ work the past 2 days. Not time for much else.
At first I was confused, but read again. Does this hinky player have involvement in two florida cases?

Hi Amy! Glad you're getting to relax a bit on the CL board tonight. I use it for therapy. ;)
Okay, I agree with your hinky meter in both cases. The biggie is that the A's knew before they proved that liar was the perp. I like that. I agree with it also.
In this book I'm reading the author calls that a "slice". He said, (with examples and proof,) that we know more in the first 2 seconds than we do after much study. He said the unconscious is operating more often than people realize and they think it only rises up in emergencies. That's not true. It is on at all times but emotions get in the way and drown out what we saw in the first slice.
He also mentions that if we were to talk to someone many times, we'd learn less about them than if we went to their home and looked around for 20 minutes without them being present. He gave examples of many experiments with this and it was amazing how much you can learn about a person by looking at their personal space. Mine would depict me as a dust hag and a laundry brat. If they opened my closets they'd have me committed. I have a sign hanging off a doorknob upstairs that says,
You Can Touch my Dust, but You Can't Write in it.
No, I think, but it's only my interpretation and i could be totally off track, is it's someone who helped look for the body. She said everyone would jump to this person's defense. No one would defend any of the ants. Maybe Amy can elaborate. I promise not to argue....which for me is not easy. ;)
My hinky post really wasn't directed to the A's. I mean, I stated pretty much from the start (or @ least from the start that I found the thread) who I tho't that was. And the cover-up mode from the rest of the A's. I'm not sure I really think that there was any other person @ all that helped her put Caylee there. I think luck, if that's what you want to call it, was on her side that the hurricane came so quickly after her mother found out that Caylee was missing (and I think both George and Cindy knew, from the moment they smelled that car, that missing was not the right word for Caylee, either.)
I truely think that, if Baez and Casey had been allowed to "search" on their own, without anyone else around, she would have taken Jose right to the very spot.

I think I'd be finding another route myself. Of course, landlubber that I am, I would have already been living on the side of the river where I work, rather than drive over a bridge w/a few million other cars. I'm not calling it junk science (or in this case, junk engineering) but I don't understand how the bridge has stood up all this time, anyway. Of course, I haven't figured out how the airplane stays in the sky, and was scared spitless the whole time the several times I was on one of those contraptions!!! :o
Isn't that a mind boggler Amy?! I just keep my eye on the stewardess and if she's smiling, I'm okay.

On my first flight, I was with a co-worker who is an ex-nun. I asked for her to cross herself for me, bless the plane and all that, lol. She tho't I was a bit nuts, but obliged me, bless her heart!!!!
Another time, the flight was a bit bumpy, only I didn't realize it was coming on, and my cinammon roll hit my forehead instead of my mouth. @ least we were laughing about that for a while, and that took my mind off the bumpy ride and my worry about staying up in the sky until the pilots used the runway in a normal fashion!!! Oh, and the stewardess wasn't just smiling, she was laughing, too, so guess all was well!!!!;)

You two just reminded me -- some 30 (gulp!) years ago a friend mine and I were travelling around the Greek Islands in those little ferries that run between them, and the sea was getting choppy. We weren't worried, because all the local people seemed very calm, like nothing was wrong.
It was when an ancient lady (dressed in black, of course) took a rosary out of her purse and began to tell the beads that we started to worry...

Oppenheim rounded out his tourney for a -6. It was -11 that won it. Our son had the time of his life. Came home with 10% of the winnings, hats, shirts, etc. etc. Open invitation to his home in Orlando. Went out in the eve with some of the player's. He said on the phone there were lots of stories from guys who were formerly on the PGA tour. I asked him last night when he got home what the stories were. He replied none i can tell ya Mom :shrug::eek: So i guess i"ll hear em when he tells DH :D

I went outside yesterday am @ work. Cool, cloudy, a tad bit of a breeze. I told my co-worker I wanted to find a porch and a rocker and a good book and an mp3 player, and I'd see her later. Unfortunatley, in a couple of hours, it was somewhat warmer, the sun was glaring, and the breeze a tad bit stronger.

so. here is whats been going on with ME for the past week or so. my Midwife sent me in for an ultra sound and they said my amniotic fluid was too low. so they sent me in for a non-stress test and everything seemed fine, so two days later i had to go back for another ultra sound after being sent home and told to drink a half gallon of water each day. went in yesterday and got the newest ultra sound and the doc said everything looked just fine. i think that someone misread something on friday because they told me baby only weighed about 5 pounds on friday and then when i went in yesterday the head ultra sound guy was there and he did mine and told me baby is over 7 pounds. i really doubt that he gained two pounds in two days just from me drinking water. i am a little put out, thinking that maybe i was being sent back and forth to the hospital because someone made a stupid mistake. good to know everything is ok though, now we are just waiting for mother nature to kick in lol.
unfortunately my back has been murdering me so i cant even really sit at this computer for more than half an hour at a time, i have been spending alot of time on the couch and in bed reading and watching tv lol i feel so lazy. i promise to keep in touch though, lol don't want any rumors gettin started hahaha. :seeya:

For thos who may not be familiar this fellow left Toronto for cottage country and timed it out where folks start getting hungry. Thats where he set up Weber's. He hires students for the summer months which is crazy busy. You stand in line to order and the kids go down the line to get your order. By the time you reach the register to pay your food is ready. Nice places to sit outside or an ole train car to sit in. great ice cream too ;)

A little excitement at the liberry today -- a DA contacted us today through another library --s/he desperately needed an article on stabbing from a unique forensics journal, that is not available in Israel.
Needed it asap, like yesterday, trial on Wednesday morning (our time, middle of the night in NY). Normally piece of cake, I contact the National Library of Medicine and get it a couple of hours after they open, after we are closed, and I zap it to the patron the next morning.
Except that it's Labor Day and the NLM is closed, and they won't open until tomorrow afternoon our time.
Now, I always telling people that not everything is on the net, not everything on the net is free, and some things are very, very hard to find.

Poppa took me to Federal Hill today and we ate in the piazza. It was such a beautiful day and it was fun to people watch. He had to do some damage control. I guess the full moon got to me this week. I was not a good girl. :punch: Not a good month with season change, family triggers, hormones, and the birthday boy irking me. Knowing what it was didn't help much. It's just melt down season I guess.
He was so much fun today. When we go to the old neighborhood where we were both born, I hear stories about the old Italians and they are funny. So today he tells me about his neighbors when he was a kid because we were sitting in his old stomping grounds. He (like me) was born in a tenement house where they all sit back to back and most of them had 3 and 4 floor apartments. He said the people next door who lived on the 3rd floor were called Mr and Mrs Dirty Pig. I lost it!! I asked him why and he said because they threw their garbage out the window, and not in a bag.
When you laugh at Poppa's stories, they get more and more colorful. Then he tells me his friend was one of their kids and they called him, Frankie Jew. He said, One day I asked Bobby Big Lips if Mr and Mrs Dirty Pig had a name, and he said, Yeah their name is Polumbo but they don't call them dat. He said, Yeah I know Dat. I laughed so hard I almost choked and then he was on a roll about the other neighbors.. OMG.. I had such a fun day. I hope you all did too.

Well, I am back in NC. Had a busy weekend. Bought some stuff at Bass Pro Shops and freaked out my son. Got a deer call and a camoflaged deal to cover my face when I am in the stand. That way I can not be seen so easily. On the way back up here I thought I was on the Daytona speedway. Side by side from Columbia to Charlotte. People going home from the holiday. Lots of police out and at least 12 or 15 people stopped for speeding. That is why the make cruise control so you don't get stopped for speeding.
I think we are going to play The Dunes later this month. My FIL and I are going down to play with my son. That will be fun. No Italian food this weekend. My son had that the night before so we went for BBQ. Not my favorite type. It is Memphis styled and is too sweet for me. No party yet. My wife's cousin has the same birthday as I do and he is exactly 10 years younger than me. We are going out this coming weekend for dinner.

Sadly, we don't get out of Toronto anymore. The BILs got too big to sit quietly by the lake, away from female accompaniment (other than me-I don't count, lol!), and family plans changed...so now we just hang out in Rosedale and dream of beautiful lakes...and see the one big one...

Well, guess which expert internet searcher extrodinaire found it in 15 minutes flat...

Most deacons would not stoop so low as to screw in a light bulb. They would tell the preacher to do it. (none of ours but some I know would)
If you ever drive down south, drive the atebelum sp trail in Georgia. Very beautiful. Lots of very old houses and live oak trees that hang all the way over the road. Small towns with very good home cooked food. Years ago we would go to Macon to see a baseball team play. They were here in our home team for several years. We would drive down the trail every year just because it was so beautiful.
Not really selfish, my wife wouldn't ride that far with me driving.:o

Ahh deacon, yes. Georgia is a beautiful world. I've been there and saw those homes that Scarlet O'Hara graced. Virginia is magnificent too, but I can't understand a word they say. ;) The Carolina's intrigue me too. All of the south is lovely. Different and lovely. For some reason I was always interested in the Civil War, and loved seeing the shanty's. For some reason, I love Southern food too! It is so out of my culture, but wonderful. I have never seen such home cooked buffets like I've seen along the drive south. WOW!

They will pass the task on to the janitor. Too much like work and would interfer with the fried chicken.
Let me rephrase that. They would form a committtee. It would take 3 months to decide who should be on said committee and how many of them should be female and how many should be male. Given the diversity of the church, some would have to be older ladies and some older gentlemen. Topics of discussion in the first meeting would be:
1. Do we really need the light bulb?
2. How much does a light bulb cost?
3. What would we have to do without to afford said light bulb?
4. What type of light bulb do we need?
5. Who brought the fried chicken so we can continue the meeting?
6. What were we talking about?

I don't know, how many do you think it would take? I really wouldn't trust most of our deacons to change a light bulb. They would mess it up.
Quick story. A friend of mine who is a preacher told me this one. Most older Baptist churchs that are not real large have the baptimal in the middle of the stage. They move the podium when they are going to baptise someone and open a hole in the floor and there is the pool. Well, that means the person being baptised must walk out on stage wearing a white robe that is not very thick and when wet, you can pretty well see through. EVERYONE being baptised is told this and told to bring something to wear under it for modesty sake. Well, one of his people didn't seem to understand so well and wore nothing under the robe thinking it would be fine. He said when he put her under, yes, her, she came up and her robe hid absolutely nothing. He said he didn't know whether to crap or go blind. The lady, all of 25, didn't seem to notice while she walked off of the stage but all of the people in the audence about died.

It took me a while to understand where the knees go. Why didnt' they put a dummy on the chair in the pictures? That wouldn't go well in the kitchen here. Hmmm. I can't make any more offices or dens in this house. I have my little den upstairs next to the paint room right up a narrow flight of stairs off the kitchen.., but I'm never in it. And Poppa has his office in the room that used to be a den. And we don't know what to call any room in this old house anymore.
Where is it?
In the room that used to be our bedroom.
Oh.
Where is it?
Um, in the room that was the ladies parlor where the TV is now.
Oh.
Where is it?
In the room that used to be our bedroom where the treadmill is now.
Oh.
Where is it?
In the room that used to be your office that is empty now.
Oh, you mean .. which office?
The front office not the back one.
Oh, okay.
Where is it?
In the hat room where the kid's bed used to be.
Oh, hmm where is that bed now?
In the room we used to sleep in when we first moved here.
Oh, okay.

Don't worry about old ladies doing the rosary. It's just what they do for everything from bad weather to the roast came out dry.
Actually, I figured just the opposite -- that if these ladies who made the crossing so many times over the past decades were worried, maybe it was gonna be really bad!

If I understand these contraptions, I don't think you actually sit in them, like a chair. I think you would be leaning forward against that piece that looks like the back of the chair. That isn't really a chair back, but a chair front. The only thing that is like a regular chair is the seat. But, I might be all wet, not having really ever seen one in real life.

I really love fishing as much as anything. I release the fish. Don't really like fish anymore. Lost the taste for them. We have the fight and then i release them. You can't do that hunting. That is why I am really careful what I shoot at. I use what is called a primative weapon. A black powder rifle. You have a range of about 100 yards with one of those. You really have to pick your target. Hunting in the south in the woods you don't get a shot much longer than that anyway.

Tell me about the doctor house guy and why he can diagnose on vicodin? LOL! I haven't googled him yet.
I've been watching Nurse Jackie. She is addicted to everything but you can't help love her when she saves people's lives. She crushes her bad pills (after she steals them) and puts them in a Sweet&Low packet and through out her shift she puts it in her cawffee. That's if she isn't pouring morphine down her throat after her sexual escapades with the pharmacist in the hospital who is madly in love with her and just found out she's married with 2 kids.
Bad news last week; It has been announced that medication distribution was going to be done by computers and she's in deep doo. Now we want to know why they are cutting off the wrong legs in hospitals these days? Uh Oh! I'm taking this program much to seriously. :punch:

Nawny u must check out House. Hugh Laurie plays him and what a talent-accomplished musician. Not a hint of his british accent either. My fave scenes are between he and Wilson. Basically the only person he likes. The one liners between them are hysterical. Of course he has the hots for the hospital admin. Cuddy and there has been some tension and a kiss between them. Follow it for a bit and u will get to know all the characters. All unique. It is so well written. Ya House got busted too for his drugs when he left a thermometer up a detectives whazoo. He came after him Mach 90. Off to rehab he went and back on his drug when out.

Yeah. I feel safe...not!
Last night that had a big presser about how they could not possibly open it on time, then this morning I woke up to the first car going over it. So everybody freaked out, made other plans, mass (transit) panic...and they open it anyway.
Makes me wonder if they were playing the old "hero" card, saying they couldn't and then they did it through their "Herculean" effort, you know? People are pretty PO'd. And I am wondering if one of those eye-beams could have a catastrophic failure...how are the others doing?

Nawny House had a heart attack on the show and a large part of his right thigh had to be removed. Apparently this left him in significant pain and using a cane. If he did not have the vicodin which he is addicted to he would be in too much pain to cure anyone. His reputation is all about his finding a diagnosis when no one else can. IMO sara

LOL!LOL!!!! I hear ya baby. It's just so much easier to sit here and complain about it. With 2 weebs, I know what you're going through. I am a connoisseur of laundry. Came from a house with 7 kids in it and created one with 4 kids in it and laundry was the bane of my existence. Still is. But it's toned down a few notches since the last one left for college. I think it was their teen years that destroyed my desire to touch laundry. 3 narcissists in puberty at the same time, yeah, that's what did it. BOYS! The worst!
Well, I'm on my way to the basement to tackle the monstah clothes. No contractors yet. I've been pushed back over a month since the start date. When they are finished with the reconstruction here, my washer and dryer will be off the bedroom on the first floor here. I still won't like laundry doing. I know that. But at least I won't have to drag baskets of clothes from the second floor to the basement-then back up again. Am I lazy? Yeth!:hat:

Is there a doctor in the house? How corny is that?
:punch:
I remember a TV show back in the 70's. There was a triad of shows, one week was a doctor, one week was a lawyer, can't remember the third profession portrayed (lol, typical of me, to have only partial memories!!!) On one of the doc shows, the main doc was shouting orders during an emergency. "Give him antibiotics every 8 hours!!!!" Sure, doc, you just let the nurse choose the antibiotic and the dosage!!!! These days, there are nurse practitioners who determine this, but it wouldn't be in that setting, with a doc right there.
They are probably making the change in the medication distribution to make the show more realistic. I think there are few hospitals these days that still use the medication carts with easy access. Probably got a few letters (and checked out by the medical consultant) that easy access to meds isn't reality, even in small hospitals. I don't watch the show, but assume it is in a big city/hospital setting? While I imagine there would be things that most nurses would be shaking their heads about, the producers etc would like for the setting to be fairly realistic. For instance, I can tell you that, altho I have heard of hanky-panky between various hospital personnel where I work, for the most part, the nurses don't exactly have time to be congregating @ the desk to flirt w/the docs and haul off to the linen closet for a quicky!!!
Another episode that had folks laughing their heads off was on ER where an emergency C/section was performed in the ER. Sorry, folks. Especially in a major setting like ER was, the patient @ the least would have been wheeled into a surgery room.

We have this deal. I stay home with the kids for now and my job, in addition to taking care of them, is to get him successfully to work. Not always as easy as one might think. He's Canadian, and they are used to having pretty much every other Monday off-lot of holidays. Of course, here, if you take every other Monday off, you start hearing stage whispers of "Drinking again?"...so I fight his instinctive attempt to sleep in on lots of Mondays. And make sure he doesn't go to work nekkid.
Hmmm that doesn't sound anything like Dale Carnegie's Book that talks about the master mind groups that create changes in business practises.
He says: When there are two or more people sitting at a table with the same thought, the aura creates a power that makes ideas manifest.
Never mind.. :chicken:
Bolding mine.
That's the trouble, it would seem. Getting two people on the same wave length, let alone having the same tho't!!!!
We are required to be on @ least one committee. After 38 years, I know most committees are a waste of time, and if the hospital was really into cutting costs, cutting about 3/4 of the committees would be a major savings!!!
Anyway, when push came to shove and I had to sign up , luckily there was an opening on a committee for nurses only. I took that one in a heart beat. I hate the committees made up of folk who work M-F 8 to 5. And who think that a person can just walk away from what they are doing to attend some meeting. Now, if I was sitting @ a desk, using the computer to input or retrieve data, etc, I could probably do that. We are already shaved to the bone on staffing, and you can't just pop down to a meeting if there are several deliveries pending. Or, for the nurses working general--you can't just tell your co-workers to take over your patients AND the several admits that are occuring.

I don't understand short staffing in hospitals, though I hear of it all the time. Nursing is one of the most important professions in the world IMO. I think they should get 6 figures a year for what they are expected to do and good ones always go beyond the call of duty. This country is messed up when CEO's of Blue Cross are getting millions for doing much of nothing! I say it all the time, over worked and under paid nurses can't do it.
When a family member of mine is in a hospital, I tell the aide to leave the sheets and towels and I'll make up the bed, get my relative cleaned up and return the breakfast tray to the cart. It's only when there is a problem and my loved one needs help I can't give, that I hear about under staffing yada yada.

One of the many things I appreciate about my Mom is that she was able to help out w/my kids, even tho she was 1 1/2 hour away. If I was going to be gone for several days, she and Daddy came up to stay w/the kids, didn't have to worry about packing them off to someone, how to get them to school, etc. And, when we took "vacation" she always came along. Sounds like such a traditional family and tradition is waning fast these days. It takes more than a village these days to protect children. This nawny is in Kill Mode when I'm with the kids. Sunday we took 2 of them to the feast here in town and as we walk through the crowds I had one finger tucked into the back of the older weeb's collar and poppa carried the smaller one. My arms were full of stuffed animals they won at the game stands. They want to run and roam by nature, and it's so scary. There are a lot of transients running the carnival and anything can happen.
I remember a story last year abut a small boy who was taken from a pool area at a resort. His parents were laying on lounge chairs soaking up the sun.
It was a high end resort too. It's just nuts what's happening now days.
You have a great family Amy!

Haaa!!!! God love the interpreters.. I get that here too. LOL! DO you ever get the songs in your head that replay continuously? I thought that was a disorder. One of them that haunted me was, the Small World song.. OMG! I was so happy when that stopped, I actually refrained from thinking about my last Disney trip.
What a gorgeous day! I just opened my window to get the mail so the mail man didn't have to walk to the front of the house. He pulls his truck up a long driveway to get access to the house and parks near my window. He said today is a great day to be a mail man. I almost followed him down the driveway. I need air.
Yep ITA. I wonder why some hospitals here and even in Florida still have problems with nurses and med aides copping pain meds? How does the computer distribution work Amy? I am guessing there is input of dosages for each patient via the keyboard but then what?
Until recently, you put your user name in, and your "password" is actually a fingerprint (gotta remember which finger you used, lol.) There is a patient list, and a medication list. (Among other options, remove, return, inventory, activity by patient or user, etc.) You would select a patient name, then select a medication and dosage. The door/drawer would pop open, a bin would pop open, and you could only take the medication you selected. A problem could be that you could take as many of that med as you wished. Stool softeners and multivitamins, not so much of a problem, and the ones that would desirable for an addict have to be accounted for. Pharmacy would be able to track who was taking such medications, and would be able to track w/days meds would be missing, and narrowing it down to what nurse was working every day that some were missing.
Now, each patient has a list of medications the doc has ordered. To get something else, you have to have a witness. AND, you have to have a witness for controlled medications, even if they are ordered. So, if Nancy Nurse asks me to witness her getting out the morhpine, I'd better be darn sure the patient has that ordered, and that it is due @ that time or I can be in as much trouble as Nancy Nurse if she is taking it for her own use.
There are a few meds that we can get, @ any time. Such as, when we admit into NBIC, we can get the IV solution and the antibiotics that are going to be used--cuz these are sicko little kiddlies and we don't have the luxury of waiting around to find another nurse to witness our getting them. But, not many have found an addictive use for those particular meds. And, the Vit K, Hep B and eye antibiotic that are used for all babies don't have to be witnessed. I guess, if someone wanted to take the time and trouble, the hep B is pretty darn expensive, but you'd have to find a market for it, and I don't know of anyone who wants to go to all that trouble.
The only two nurses that I know of that had an addiction were both found out fairly quickly. One of them, seems they knew to be watching. She was a transfer from another unit, I guess to be given a second chance or something. I'm not sure how they figured out the other, but it does go to show that using the computerized method is helpful in catching the abusers. Can be a pain in the butt for regular folk, but I guess better to be put to some inconvenience so that the process of finding a thief is quick, and pretty quiet.

Hospitals in my state are scary places.
It all comes down to "business," the "bottom line" these days. I have never, ever in my life been able to figure out "productivity" in a hospital, to be determined much the same as "productivity" on the assembly line in an automobile factory. There are time studies and from that they get how long it should take to do certain things like taking vital signs, changing linens, etc etc etc. But that does not seem to figure in the human factor. We are also supposed to talk w/the patient, be available to listen to their worries and fears. But, if you spend too much time actually w/the patient, you are in trouble because you are behind on passing the medications or doing the charting.
Other departments are cutting their hours or staff, so any service that has to be provided to the patient falls to the nurses to do. You'd think that we could @ least keep the same numbers of staff to accommodate the extra duties. But, no, somewhere, some yahoo (an "expert" in something, who most likely has never been in a hospital as an employee OR patient) has determined that the nurses can take on a greater nurse-patient ratio. I am sure this is the same expert who determined the other departments needed to get rid of some of THEIR duties, not giving a tho't about WHO would take those on. Some aren't just luxury services that patients could do without--like birth certificates. I can see telling the state, sorry, we just didn't get around to getting that info. It's not like they just sign a piece of paper. The nurses (not the aides or clerks) have to take up what it took a medical record person several hours a day to accomplish, depending on the number of babies born that day.
Some areas pay quite well, others not so much. We have many nurses who are here only long enough to get the experience required to get jobs in other areas. Such as, we have a nurse from CA now. She wants OB, but has to have several years experience to get a job in that dept in CA. So, she has ended up in KS--and administration knows that as soon as she meets requirements, she is out of here!!! It takes a good 6 months for a new nurse to be ready to be "on her own" in L&D. Other nurses went thru school on scholarships thru the auxillary which requires a certain amount of time working here for each "scholarship" received. There are nurses who will spend that time here--if they don't, they have to pay back the monies, plus, they will get experience which will bode them well for applying to other places when their time is up.
Nurses can get "bonuses" for working the night shift for 6 or 12 week assignments. Now, that is well and good, but if they would just put their thinking caps on (administration) they would figure out that it would be more reasonable in the long run if they would just pay night shift a whopping bit more than the day shift!!! They could possibly have nurses fighting to get the night positions. Besides, if I were a regular night shift nurse, it would pizz the heck out of me to know that someone is getting a bonus, while I just get the regular rate (base plus a differential.)
I don't have an MBA in anything, but it only takes a little common sense to figure some things out. Of course, local administration can't blow their noses without the approval of the corporate biggies who sit in offices in Illinois, for God's sake!!!!
Amy, do you have to witness the administration of the med, too? Because I would think if a patient were supposed to get 2 pills, maybe they might only get 1, you know?
No. I hadn't tho't of that. But I guess it could happen. I don't know how they would track that. But I can't imagine the time crunch that would come up to require 2 nurses to be there.
However, I do watch that the patient takes the med. I will leave the vitamins and stool softner and iron (the main meds for OB's) on their tray to take if they are busy @ the time. But I watch that they take the pain med. Sometimes I just get a hinky feeling about the other person in the room who seems to be eyeing that little package. Especially if there is a history of drug use noted on the profile. And, especially since learning about youngens selling their prescription drugs. Now, when they get out and want to sell their prescriptions, that is one thing. But while I am taking care of them, it ain't gonna happen!!!!

Thank you, that all makes sense. So can the controlled substance be detoured en route to the patient? I mean how can they know for sure that the patient got the pain meds?
I got a sense that my sister didn't get her pain meds one day. She was in a lot of pain. When we called for the nurse to administer the meds, the head nurse showed up with her records and told us that the meds were administered at 2pm. It was 3pm. My nephew said, I was sitting right here in this chair at that time and no one came in the room to give my mother meds.
She was determined to try to convince us all that he was mistaken. The sad part was, my sister was in tears. SHe was in the 4th stage of lung cancer. I was thinking the pain meds never made it to my sister since it left the locked cabinet.
She was brought to Hospice shortly after that incident. Ardino Carcinoma.
Yes, they could be. Which is a good reason to have someone in the room w/the patient. And to have a notebook @ the ready to document when meds were given, and what they are. Any decent nurse would be glad to oblige giving the patient/family this information. We all read and know about abuses of all kinds in the hospital setting, and should be open to making sure the "customer" has the information s/he feels needed. If we are open and honest w/the patient, we can avoid many hours of aggravation that it would take to investigate any incident. I do hope your sister got her meds and that the incident was investigated--altho many times the result would not necessarily be reported to the patient.
I always tell the patient what I am giving them (and if it's my kiddlie in the NICU and the parent is there, I make sure THEY know this is the antibiotic, this is for the reflux, etc) and make sure I say "these TWO pills are for constipation. This pill is your vitamin, these TWO pills are for pain." It's always a good thing to listen to what the patient says, too. If s/he says the pain pill isn't the same one being dispensed @ other times, look into it NOW rather than later. Of course, since the latest enhancement of the medication machine (Pyxis in our area) it is hard to give the WRONG medication, because the machine will tell you which one has been ordered. You'd have to go thru a whole lot of contortions to get the wrong medication.
When Daddy was in for his hip, there was always someone in the room w/him and Mom. Except @ night, sometimes we would be out in the waiting room, but in and out of the room. But I think even @ night, most of the time someone was in the room. Having someone in the room is also helpful in the complaint about the time it took for the nurse to answer the light or provide the medication. I know from experience, a minute seems like 10 or 20 when you are the one laying in that bed. And, depending on age or condition, it might be difficult to look @ the clock (and there IS one, placed in patient view, in every room in our hospital.) The person staying would be able to confirm whether it was 10 minutes or 30, if s/he is paying attention.

Thank you Amy. I understand exactly what you're saying. See why I think nurses should make 6 figure salaries? The responsibilities are enormous. I've seen and experienced so much in hospitals and the human part is sometimes jeopardized on both ends. Yes a minute is like an hour to the patient. It's good to have family in the room though many nurses and aides hate that. ;)
I hate to hear they a hospital or nursing home is understaffed. Even restaurants are not understaffed. Barrooms are not understaffed. Jeeeze!

I see kids having all sorts of vacations - Disney cruises, trips to Spain and England. I hope they appreciate them. I went on one family vacation and it was just overnight and I remember it 44 years later. It was the best time we ever had. My father had a friend who was building a house in a place called Blue Mountain. So, since we didn't have any money for a vacation ever, he took advantage of the offer of a free mountain cabin. Firstly, when we got there, we had to walk up this huge hill to get to the house. The house wasn't finished - it had only half a roof, no door and no, repeat no, indoor plumbing. We had to sit on a board that my father made with a hole in it. When literally slept under the stars and we heard all sorts of noises in the woods since there was no door and my mother stayed awake all night thinking a raccoon or bear would come in. The only thing in the house was a Ouiji Board. We high tailed it out of there the next morning but we had a grand time on our only family vacation.

My wife has been at home since my son was born. 25 years ago. I still will do the washing sometimes.

I'm taking her to Federal Hill to see the mob. Also she may have a gold plated rolling pin to take with her when she visits the street where the A's live.

I find it interesting yes. He is using many examples to explain his findings about our inborn talent for sizing up a situation, person, etc within the first 2 seconds of exposure to them. He calls it "slicing". I'm half way finished reading it. I'm thinking that LE officials use this method when they are investigating a case like Liar's. I'm still feeling sure they have more on her than they're telling us simply because they reinstated the DP. But, we sliced and we found her lies instantly. Of course, those 31 days she let go by didn't help her look good.

If you like. Hey, she works hard at home. Raising a child is hard work. Making sure he got to where ever he was going today (school, golf, trumpet lessons, etc. for ever) isn't easy. I messed the clothes up so I can put them in the washer and then the dryer. Not like that is really hard work. The ironing is the part she dares me to do. "don't you get anywhere near my iron."
My son brought home a "girlfriend" when he was in high school. She went to our church and knew us pretty well. Every night when I am through eating I get up and wash the dishes. Don't know why, I just always have. His friend about dropped her eye teeth. She wispered to my wife, "does he always do that?" My wife and son had to assure her that, yes, I did. I mean, she cooked, at least I can wash the dishes.

Our "vacations" when I was a kid is what people call day trips these days. Us kids didn't know the difference, so we enjoyed them all the same. I don't really recall other families in the little community having vacations, altho I imagine some of them did.
Daddy had 2 uncles w/their wives who had "ranches" a couple of hours away in CO. Usually when we went there, Daddy's brothers and sisters and families did, too, and Grandma when she was alive. They probably called it a family reunion, lol. Miles and miles of barren land with gullies and dry river beds for us kids to spend the day exploring.
One time, we went to Pueblo, and actually stayed in a motel over night!!! OMG, we tho't that was soooo cool. No pool or tv or anything, but by gollies, it was a motel!!!!! These little trips occured maybe twice a year, if that. Oh, and whomever was the lucky one (maybe 2) would get to go to Rocky Ford, CO with the folks and Grandma when they went to get fruits and veggies for canning. Cuz, then, we got to visit Daddy's "rich" cousin and her hubby who ran the Coca-Cola bottling company there!!
We used to go to Amarillo, TX @ least once a year for my eyes. That was not a VACATION, you know, that was BUSINESS!!! lol No overnighters there, except if I was having surgery. Get up way early in the wee hours, then stop somewhere and pop open the trunk of the car, and eat Cheerios, but not in a bowl!!! AND, we might even have a banana as a treat!!!! Lunch, in some resaurant where us kids would get hamburger with a hamburger bun and French Fries!!!! Now, that was a downright treat!!!!
One year, Mom picked Mt Capulan in NM for us to go see. By that time, several of us were old enough for bf's and they came along, too. Mom would decide she wanted a pic of ALL of us, and had no problem catching the attention of any other tourist who happened to be there, and hand them her camera, asking them to take the pic!!!
But, a good time was had by all. I am sure, with the number of kids, @ least one kid was in a pissy mood @ least part of the time, which might have taken away the enjoyment somewhat for the folks, but I only remember what a great time we had on our "vacations!!!!!!"

I don't have to imagine 7 kids in a station wagon--that was US!!!! Lol. "The baby" got to sit in front w/the folks. 3 got the "back seat" and the other 3 got the "back-back" with whatever paraphernalia Mom determined was needed for the "trip." Nothing on the top of our car!!! For some reason, she tho't those bushel baskets they bought veggies in were just the thing to use to contain whatever. "Well, if you didn't lean on that basket, you wouldn't get poked!!!" "But MOOOMMM!!! She pushed me into it!!!!!" "Shut up or I'll give you something to cry about!!!!"
OTOH, my uncle and his family went to CO every year to their cabin, and came to Grandma's for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. No station wagon for them, no sirreeee!!! But they had that big box thing strapped to the top of the car, and for the summer trip, even sometimes had a little uhaul like thing they pulled behind.

YeeeeHaaaaa!!!!! Bet you all will have a rip-roaring good time!!! And, the weebles will have a new aunt, lol!!!!
Oh yes they already have her for an aunt. They wore the Disney Princess tee shirts she bought them, all summer. Two of them already met her in Disney. And the youngest one drags the Minnie Mouse Pocketbook everywhere. Gator is going to be halloween'd, over fed, and weeble'd out by the time she gets back home. I'm hoping the weather is nice though because I want her to get a piece of New England in her heart. Friend's are good to have. :)
Federal Hill our favorite place. http://www.caffedolcevita.com/ And I know it will be very difficult to impress a New Yorker. My fingers are crossed.

Okay I finally resigned yesterday and got on the scale.
I'm heaping up the proteins today. Was it me who said, "If I want to lose weight, I know exactly how to lose it?" Well I Do and I hate eggs. But I am eating them now. For lunch, Tuna, for dinner tonight, salad, broccoli, and a small rib eye.. tomorrow is another day. No bread. No potato, no pasta, no nuthin. I'm going to be talking to myself by Friday. I'm talking to myself now.
Going to Dave's Market today. I hope I don't see any thin people. I have a brick in my front seat. :hat:

This kid wasn't kidnapped. He was with his mother because his father wanted to fight and I think he's responsible for all of this. Seems he had some perp issues? He was only granted temprorary custody anyway. He seems to be a happy little boy. Just MO.

Nawny and anyone else who wants to watch House
Starts Monday 8 p.m.(Eastern time) Sept. 21st on Fox
Just a bit of background on the season opener: House is detoxing in a mental institution. Being held against his will by attending physician (House thinks so anyways) So in usual House fashion he comes up with an escape plan.
Reason he is there is he cant rid himself of hallucinations of Amber. Amber was his best friends girlfriend (Wilson) Amber had rescued House one night from a bar when he was sloshed. They get on the city bus to go home and there is a crash. Amber dies and House and Wilson's frienship is torn. For awhile anyways. Some of the best television i have watched are the scenes between House and Wilson. Pay close attention to their lines as often there is a double meaning LOL

DH is a huge fan of house, so I end up watching it a lot. The thing that bugs me is that House does EVERYTHING in the hospital. When they had him do brain surgery I thought it was a bit over the top. They know the guy is as addict, there has to be a line on how much they will let him do. That said, the show is, generally, good.
I'm recovering from the Holiday weekend. I removed the wallpaper from DS's room. Scrubbed the walls, painted them, and the trim. Ripped out the wall-to-wall carpet, removed the nails and tack strip. Gently sanded some areas of the hardwood floor and refurbished with some stuff designed for that. Bought a bunch of picture frames for all his misc. stuff he has collected and re-framed some stuff. Bought all new bedding stuff and rearranged the furniture.
One room down, dining room next.

You are busy Shady:beer: I hear ya but i guess if House didn't have a hand in everything they would run out of show LOL So many scenes stand out in my mind. One that had me busting a gut was when House took his lunch (prolly some else's lol) and sat and ate with a patient.Wilson walks in and asks-lunching with coma guy-house answers No that was last week. Today is brain dead guy. (Something to that affect)

For Breakfast I want the Real Deal with bacon and Italian toast.
For Lunch I want the tuna sandwich
For Dinner I want the crab cakes appetizer,Instalata Mista with shrimp and
Penne Primavera and dessert is of course Tiramisu.
To drink at dinner I would love to have a carafe of white zinfandel.
Is this something the resturant can deliver??? Or must I be in person???

I just got back from Dave's. LOL! I spent the better part of the excursion reading carb, and sugar content. Did you know that Cheerios has 4 grams of sugar? WTF? And did you know that heavy cream has a 1 gram of Carbs? And.. do you know I'd rather be an ommphaloompa than diet? But I'll do it. I bought lots of veggies.
I'm good, I'm good. Corned Beef and cabbage tonight. No bread. I'm fasting. But the Barilla pasta was on sale 5 for a dollar. Dayam!
Now I can't wait to see House!

I just love those. Wilson always finds house when he is hiding. I loved it when he was hiding in the surgeon's lounge. They treat him like he is nuts.

I never did that at home. My father did it most of the nights. He also cooked breakfast. That was his thing. He loved to cook breakfast.
The closest my dad ever was to washing a dish was leaving the spoon after he stirred his coffee on the counter next to the sink. I din't think that he knows to this day that things go INTO the sink.

Oh loading pictures is easy. Just plug the wire into the camera and the computer, then suddenly pictures show up on your screen, then you turn off the camera and wella. Then they go somewhere. When you find them :o just send them to me. See? Easy. :) I do not know how I get through life. It's osmosis.

My father too. Never touched a sink or a stove. In fact I don't remember him ever opening the fridge. He always got served first too. My mother made his favorite meals exclusively for him. Things they used to call poor man's meals, like Cabbage and beans, Escarole and beans, Tripe (yuk) and of course the usual European foods. Now they are delicacies in Italian restaurants. I laugh when I see escarole and beans for a high price on a menue.
I can still see him sitting there with his dish. I grew up watching my mother serving him and I do the same thing here with one difference. Poppa washes dishes if I don't get to them first. He's always a part of everything I do; Even laundry :) It took me forever to get used to it and not feel embarrassed. I was a dope.
But I'm all bettah now Ollie. :hat:
