WOW! We have gone a whole three weeks without seeing or hearing from Cindy!! There truly is a GOD!! I guess MJ dying kinda put her on the back burner and while I am getting tired of hearing about him, it sure is sounding like his death might just be a homicide!!! What I am about to post has really nothing to do with either one of them, but I know all of you on this thread and I always get positive feedback from you guys!! So here goes my gripe of the week!!
My hometown in VT has strict town ordinances including ones about business signs and the fact they don't want those cheesy billboards on the Interstate or large gaudy restaurant or motel signs and I agree totally. This state does not, we have huge signs even, are you ready for this, on the interstate, one sign in Bay City even has a male enhancement advertisement and my god son thought it was funnier than hell when he saw it! His parents and I were mortified!!! No way would that be in my town however, this is the bible belt of the mid-west!! My gripe is this. I read the Reformer today and some Middle Eastern dude is whining because the town will not allow him to have a sandwich board sign on the sidewalk. Now this sounds pretty petty, I will admit, but he put his restaurant in a residential neighborhood and the neighbors are crying foul and the town will not let him put the signs out on a sidewalk because there is foot traffic obviously, and he is screaming RACISM!!!! OF COURSE!!!! And if he was expecting sympathy I guess he does not know VT very well!!! The town is fining him $100 a day, but the town has offered to let him buy signs they approve of at the cost of $175 and yet, he is whining about that cost?? I wrote him a letter in true Wind fashion, that he fully expects to get his own way by screaming racism. They come to our country and set up a business and want to make all that American money, but when the town asks him to comply with their ordinances like all the AMERICAN RESTAURANT OWNERS HAVE TO, he whines!!
And I told him that by contacting the paper he was trying to drum up business because there will always be some tree hugging bleeding heart that will take up his whine and run with it and there is, and I think by doing so, that is it sneaky and underhanded! Also, a meal in that joint costs upwards of $100 without wine!!! Now the majority of the folks that posted are true Vermonters and told him what he could do with his crappy signs and that he was a whiny jerk!! I fear, that he will now try to sue the town and use racism as the reason and fully would expect to win! Now you guys know I am not fond of people from the Middle East and I am not about to apologize for that either and people like him just empowers me to think even less of them!!!! I have waited on people when I was a server, from India and they tried to treat me like I was at the bottom of their sandal and it did not work!!! I told you about that one guy I hated!
Now what do you all think about this??? I think he needs to shut his yap and buy the god damm signs he is allowed to have and if that ain't good enough, he can just go out of business, pack his tent and go back to the desert and sell his chick peas over there!!!! They hate us Americans, they think we are amoral the way we live here, with women being able to vote and don't have to wear a towel on their heads and can freely speak their minds, but they love that AMERICAN MONEY!!!! It just pisses me off!!! Recently, about 135 Iraq people were given political asylum and are living in Bay City. They got all hooked up with housing and food stamps and medical, but yet, several people have been sitting on the waiting list for housing, for years and my friend who has two children and really needs it, were BUMPED for these people!!!
Do you think this is right or fair?? NOT FREAKING LIKELY!!!! I saw some of them at the fireworks and believe me, people were not looking at them very nicely!!! I don't think this is fair!! There are homeless AMERICANS, that are not bums, but families down on their luck living in their cars and some are crashing under a freeway bridge!!! Some bleeders bring these people over and they just get everything handed to them and that is not right!! My friend makes about $250 a week as a nursing assistant. Her husband who is laid off, is only getting about $240 on unemployment and their rent is $500 a month, and they have to pay all their utilities and car payments and they have a newborn and a 6 year old and not much is left for family entertainment. They do not have cable or the internet and one cell phone. They want to move, but they can't afford to do so!! And Val was so hoping to get housing and to know she was bumped down the list angers me to no end!!! I bought Andrea some candy at the fireworks and she was so happy, I bought her more!! So I am asking all you guys what you think about that jerk as I always get good feedback from you all!!!

Ain't that sumptin???A whole three weeks without seeing her or lap dog on my TV!! Thrills me to no end!! I am wondering if all the networks finally got a clue that people DON"T WANT to hear anything out of her mouth because it is the same old sh*t, moaning her daughter is innocent and trying to make money off her murdered granddaughter!!! She is old news kids, and I bet it is pissing her right off that because of MJ dying she has been put out to pasture!! The camerawhore that she is, she ain't liking the fact that she got bumped because the death of MJ is the hottest thing out there with every network hashing and rehashing, that anything about her evil daughter is not news anymore and probably won't be till the trial starts. NG is gonna keep this MJ thing going for months and months like she did with ANS, that got old real fast and since I am not going to be surprised nor should anyone else,, that he died of a drug overdose or a multitude of drugs
. And ten Xnax a night??? I took one one time and slept for almost 24 hours straight!!! Knocked me out, a tornado could have blew by and I would have died without even knowing there was one!!!! So yeah, I am very pleased that the networks woke up and decided that CA was old news and Cindy can't figure out a way to get around the MJ death because the networks are gonna tell her that they don't have time for her song and dance, not newsworthy anymore, they have the death of an "icon" to sell advertisements and air time now. And it is refreshing to not see those pictures day after day of little Caylee and what I mean by that is, the child is dead, really dead and those pictures of that sweet innocent face is just so heartbreaking and then I just conjure up images of a skeleton in three garbage bags. That video of her reading her favorite book, looking so happy and she does not have a clue that hours after that video is taken, her momma murders her out of jealousy and spite and her grandparents have sold her down the river by not accepting the fact that her momma murdered her and for monetary gain. God Bless that little angel, she is forever with God and not her low life family. With the Scummings and their life style, you can pretty much figure that Haleigh is dead because of it, but the Anthony's are wolves in sheep's clothing. Not in the same income bracket, but just as evil and low life and even more so in the fact that we know where Caylee ended up, we don't know where Haleigh's body is, YET.

I have a little bit of experience with losing a loved one to suicide. And I know that grief is not selective. I wrote a book about it. I recognize grief from a planet away. In fact, I didn't see it in the A's. (perhaps George a bit) It struck me hard when I saw the shenanigans of CA during the period after Caylee's remains were found. This woman is either dazed or at least crazed, but grief was not on the menu for her; anger is. She lost control of her domain. She's pissed as hell.
MJ's life ended the way it was supposed to end. He was done. He was ready to leave us. His behaviors screamed out loud that he was ready. I see his death as suicide.
Excerpt from Why Whisper: Nawny's book.
When we lose someone we love to death we are sad. When someone we love makes a decision to die by taking their own life, we are lost. Until we find our way out of the mire of shock and self blame, we cannot grieve.
The grieving process is a lie. There is no format, no design. Grief is a word that applies to anything lost. While we grapple with culpability for a life ended by suicide, we cannot begin the process that takes us apart and shows us grief defined.
When we find our way out of our own conceit, grief begins. A metamorphose takes place in our spirit. The tearing away of all you have believed about life and death is excruciating. And the pledge that "nothing in life is worth dying for" changes forever.
To be lost is a trick our mind plays on us. When our mind is mislaid, we are not consciously living. We merely exist and some part of us is searching for the portal that will lead us to the light where life is painful, and dismal. We feel shredded like a cloth dipped in the blood of a poison tree. Anything that touches us shrieks in agony and we are devoid of empathy. We are blinded by a reality not of our own design and yet, we believe it was our error.
In the midst of the last stage of grief you decide that life ends aptly for each of us when the time is right. There is no such thing as an accident or a mistake and there is no such thing as saving a life.
In order to survive the death of a son I loved, who told us with his decision to die that he was controlling his own life, I had to believe that our spirit leaves when its job is done.
When I found my way to the light, and grappled with this reality I grew tired of fighting with the fact that we control nothing. Once I did stop fighting, I knew I was not responsible for my son’s decision. That set me free. I learned so much in grief. The most important thing I learned is, love is worth living for.

Emily DickinsonBeautiful and wise post Nawny. I have no answers. I do believe that MJ and also Heath Ledger may have not consciously wanted to leave this earth, but they were sad and tired and extremely intelligent individuals. I was raised in the Methodist church and was taught that when your purpose was served then you were called home. If it is any consolation to anyone that has lost a loved one to suicide; I was also brought up to believe that suicide was a sin. I am thankful to the wonderful Episcopal priest who is a counselor and also has a Masters in psychology: his words are that God is not going to send a person who is ill to hell. Nawny, you are a beautiful person and you have done so much good in your life. :rose:

Aww, thank you LHD. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-hug002.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)
I agree with that Episcopal priest. He makes more sense than the Catholic priest's sermons that were telling us we would burn forever. I think they had much too much hagnog in the rectories. Nothing burns forever. ;)
The way I was raised didn't give me much to go on when it came to God's grace. I had to scratch my way through books and observations to figure out that God was not the executioner. I'm ashamed to say I don't know much about the Episcopal way. I will make it a point to look at that. Gotta love the Internet! Thank you.

I don't know if this is good feed back, but I have had experience with the newly placed middle easterners. TO some degree you're right about their attitudes, but none the less they have to obey the laws in place here. No choice. My issue with some of them was their attitudes about women. I had to face off one of them a few years back. He was a medical student and worked in a diner as a dishwasher. He was feeling up a waitress in the kitchen, and told him to rent a motel. He reacted furiously and threatened to slap my face. I went nose to nose with him and said, have at it sir! He backed down very quickly.
Just be yourself wind, this is our country. When we go there, we do as the Romans do, as well. Simple respect for each other is in demand these days. :patriot:

Thank you Nawny, I knew you would understand where I am coming from with this! I am so pissed off that AMERICANS who work for a living and aere only asking help with their housing costs get bumped for people who don't belong here. I remember a while back, a woman I know lives in upstate NY was upset because some Middle Easters were here again, granted asylum and brought all their evil culture with them and what used to be a good hood no longer is because of the crime rate going up. Honor killings, out and out duels on the sidewalk in full view of children and that they were hooked right up and people are pissed off because they are sitting on housing waiting lists, make $1.12 too much to qualify for medical and food stamps and these people get it all handed to them! This is not right!!! It is not any Americans fault that all they have known is war and bloodshed and here they come asking for protection and freedom and they slaughter their daughters like pigs when they get Americanized and have boyfriends and are no longer "pure" to get married off to some Taliban Daddy promised her to!!
I saw an episode on AMW where one of these losers are on thr FBI's most wanted who was sexually and physically abusing his wife and daughters, he wanted to send them back to India because he felt they were not OBEYING HIM by wanting to go to college and have a normal life so he shoots both his daughters in the head, leaves them to die in his taxi cab and books!!! What bothers me and John Walsh is somebody is hiding him out because in their evil cutlure, the man is always right and they probably think he is a freaking hero for killing his beautiful smart daughters who were destined to go to Harvard to save his FAMILY HONOR!! What a pile of crap! You want to murder your daughters, stay in your own country and I hope someday they get this twisted puke and send him to DR where he belongs. My friend told me that right down the street, a scumbag had his son do his dirty work, he beat and then hung his sister in a freaking tree and then wondered why the police were arresting him????
Now you take people from the Orient. Very rarely do they ever get arrested or break the law in some small fashion. They come here to have a better life and work their ass off to do so and they encourage their children to get an education not force them into arranged marriages to some guy their daughters do not want to marry. They are allowed to think for themselves whereas Middle Eastern women are not even allowed to fart without asking permission from the evil man they are married to. And they rarely ask for any government assitance prefering to work for what they have and I admire anyone who does this especially when you come from another country. And the men from India are the rudest of all. They do think women are just on this planet to service them and I can see you telling that jerk off! The one I posted about was a real SOB, but with my help and others we seperated his wife and daughters from him forever and he was fixing to send his daughters back to India because they were not OBEYING HIM!
I hated this guy and boy, did he hate me and I could have given a rat's ass. I stood up to him more than once right in my restaurant, we were not going to put up with his crap and I know for a fact no woman had ever done so and he met his match with me because I was not about to back down from this dirtbag. The night he left for good, I let it all go and the restaurant was packed and everyone cheered when I told this puke off, as he had pushed me to the limit and you get one of my good waitresses upset, you are done for. He had called her a lazy sloth because she failed to leap when he wanted a re-fill on his soda. She had 5 other tables and could not just bow down to him and she came in the back where I was rolling dough and I was like, that's it, he is out of here! I told him he was an asshole and a rude SOB and he was no longer welcome in the store and to get the f*ck out!!! He looked like he wanted to hit me and my oven man who weighed about 250 lbs walked over and the Raja booked so fast he lost a sandal!! So I think that if they can't behave like normal human beings, they don't belong here.

i haven't had much experience with middle eastern people in my corner of the world, mostly we have issues with mexicans over here.
what really pisses me off is going to jack in the box to order a damn burger and the girl taking my order has NO IDEA what i am saying and i have NO IDEA what she is saying because she only speaks broken english. this might sound harsh but if they cannot SPEAK ENGLISH COHERENTLY then they might as well not be speaking it at all in my opinion. JMO but i think that in order to get a job where you are dealing with ENGLISH SPEAKING CUSTOMERS the majority of the time you should have to speak, read and UNDERSTAND english!!! i certainly would not go to germany and just EXPECT everyone to speak english, if i was going to travel to another country i would make DAMN SURE that i spoke that language well before going there.
i feel where you are coming from wind

Yes wind, I know the particular type you're talking about. They get over themselves eventually. Their children, born here, are nothing like that. The Asians, they are very different, you are right. They work hard and take advantage of the opportunities. Many graduation ceremonies are showing them getting most of the scholarships and the awards. It's amazing how smart they are.
I know a Syrian man who was thrown out of his country and not allowed to go back ever. He was part of a revolution there. He ended up in Conn and was taken in by a group who helped place him. They got him into the University of Bridgeport and gave him 1.25 a day for food. He lived with a group who advocated change in Syria, but they were here. Within ten years he owned a grocery store, Liquor store, Real Estate business and a restaurant. He drove an Alfa ROmeo and he was laughing at us because he didn't understand why anyone had to be poor in America. He found America the easiest place in the world to be wealthy.
Another man I met in Conn came from Greece. He walked into a busy diner one day and told the owner he was buying his diner. The man threw him out. He went back and sat there day after day with a coffee and continued to tell the man, "I will buy your diner. You are old, you need to retire, go to Florida." The man eventually sold him the diner for 35K and after ten years, and very hard work day and night, the Greek sold it for 650K and went to Florida himself to retire. He Also said, he didn't understand why anyone in the USA should be poor. He said, When I was in Greece, I owned one book. You people eat them for breakfast and still I see stupidity here. I cannot read or write English, I cannot speak it well, but the opportunities here are too great to excuse poverty. I don't understand why people are angry with me for working hard he would say. I learned a lot from that man.
His philosophy was like William Clement Stone. He was a black American and dirt poor. He became one of the wealthiest men in the world and before he died he had given over 2 billion dollars to the humanitarian causes, especially children's causes. He understood poverty in America. He experienced hard times because his father died when he was three years old and his mother had to give him to another family because she had to live in a homeless women's shelter. None of that could be avoided but the bugger was selling newspaper's at 6 years old. He found a way and claimed, work is the only way. Of course some people are handicapped and cannot work, but they can think, he said.
His philosophy was:
To develop good character, work.
To have good health, work.
To win yourself over, work.
To do the right thing because it is right, work.
To rise from rags to riches, work.
To fight your way back, work.
To acquire knowledge, work.
To acquire know how, work.
Yep he wrote a few books too. ;)

Nawny, those were great stories. i wish that all the people who came over here would treat this as the land of opportunity like all the immigrants before them. it could still be that way if people would just change their attitudes.

Nawny, those were great stories. i wish that all the people who came over here would treat this as the land of opportunity like all the immigrants before them. it could still be that way if people would just change their attitudes.
You are a wise young lady J. :) In the early 1900's they came here to build us up. I don't hate immigrants. I respect them for leaving all that they know and coming to a place that resents them to learn a new way of life. It must have been so frightening for them when they arrived. They learned quickly how to survive here and those who are trying to resist our way don't do too well these days. Would you buy a loaf of bread from a foreigner with an attitude? I wouldn't. The problem that comes in is those foreigners set up shop in area's of the city where they all live.
Poppa's business is in one of those areas and he has to deal with them every day. (Has been for some 40 years.) I'll tell you a story that happened in his waiting room one day.
A black Hispanic young man went to give poppa some slack because his insurance policy on his car had cancelled because he didn't tell the truth about his driving record when he filled out the application a few months before.
He was yelling at poppa because the company would not return his deposit. No matter how he tried to explain the problem to the guy, poppa couldn't make him understand that the company will not return a deposit after a certain time lapses. He also told him the reason his insurance went up so high was, he lied about several accidents.
Sitting in the waiting area was a very old black Hispanic woman who witnessed this argument. She got up from her chair and began whacking the young man with her umbrella telling him to show some respect. Then she called him the N word.
The guy shut up and cowered. Poppa was laughing and thanked the old woman for defending him :) She told him she admired him very much because he was a river to her people. Poppa helped a lot of them get their insurance at a low rate and never took advantage of them like so many brokers in RI do. He is very well liked in the hood. His front door is like Grand Central Station. When people ask him how he deals with them, he tells them, "You must deal with them, they're not going anywhere." Most of them are good people.
When my father was a boy he was slapped in his face by a store keeper for speaking Italian. He learned English real quick after that.
It may boil down to individual attitudes no matter where we come from or where we go. People are people. I do understand that prejudice isn't always one sided though and that gets nasty.
When I was in New Mexico I was horrified to learn that I wasn't well accepted. At first I didn't understand what was happening. Then my friend told me they don't like anyone who isn't a native. Well Excayoooze me, I thought to myself. LOL! I'm spending my money in their stores and they have an attitude??
Bad me. :punch:
It felt awful, and it made me think.

The only frustrating experience i can honestly say i had with the language barrier was in Flagstaff AZ. It had been a very long day to begin. Up very early and on the golf course. Raced back to change and headed up to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix. We had asked directions and what we thought was a 3 hr. drive turned out to be 4. We arrive and its dark. We pay the park fee of 20 bucks and i in my fatigue ask is there anything we can see even tho its dark. Meaning buildings to wander and read the history etc. I kinda knew we would not see the canyon in the dark. Ranger guy says where are you from. I reply Canada. He smartly says oh hell ya we light up the canyon for you Canadians. So we enter and walk to the wall. All we can see is a tiny light at the ranger station deep in the canyon. DH light his lighter and says-see kids thats the grand canyon. So back down the mountain we go and hit Flagstaff to eat-starving. End up at a Sizzlers but its food. All i wanted was some butter for my baked potato and bread. Nobody spoke a word of English. I dont know butter in spanish. I wandered around and hit up every waiter to no avail. They were running away from me at this point  So in essence my experiences have been very tame.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!! I'm sorry Beem, but that was funny!
I don't mind the accents unless I'm dealing with my coffee. I haven't been able to get a decent cup of coffee at a drive thru from Americans, never mind foreigners!
Okay maybe its me. How does this translate: ONE MEDIUM COFFEE, on the DARK side, NO SUGAR.
I get allsorts of coffees. I get beige milk, I get black, I get milk and sugar. THe last time I ordered coffee I went to Starbucks because I thought it would be better than Dunkin Donuts. SO I pay the extra dollar (I think they have cocaine in their coffee, it's so damn expensive) I pay over $4 dollars for a medium on the dark side, no sugar. I drove off and was too far away to choke the girl who gave it to me. I got a mouth full of sugar. So it must be me.

Thank you Beemer!! My take is this. I am an American through and through and I feel it is my duty to bring attention to actions when so many people are afraid to express themselves because they are afraid that they will be labeled a racist. I don't want people coming to my country and committing heinous crimes, treating us like we are the bottom of their sandals, and trying to make cities and towns bow down to them like that jerk wad in VT is trying to do. I lived in Brattleboro for over 30 years and I can remember a time where we only had one black family, Curtis Washington and his family and they are awesome people. Curtis set up a bbq shack in Putney and is still serving people food today and he has to be clear into his 80's! People come for miles for his chicken and ribs and he bills his now restaurant as the "8th Wonder of the World" and it is. And he always had time to sit down and play his harmonica and his daughter and he would sing and they are very well loved by all. He first came to VT to pick apples in the fall and decided to get out of the deep south and move to VT because he saw that Vermonters are live and live folks and he of course being the cool dude that he is was met with open arms. Brattleboro now is pretty much a melting pot, but it has only been maybe 25 years that we started seeing people from the Middle East, mostly Indians moving to VT and right off there were problems with them. Some like that asshole I spoke about earlier opened up motels and restaurants and small shops and they always treat their AMERICAN help like crap.
My ex-husband had a set to with the Raja himself. Ken was a locksmith and was forever getting called by him to change locks because people would quit on him all the time and never return the key and he had to renovate it and expected Ken to install master keyless entry locks on over 300 rooms and of course tried to do the cheap cheap, they are masters at that, and Ken gave him a price as he would have to do it all himself and it could take days and of course the Raja freaked so Ken told him to find somebody else. About a week later, he called back as he had to have these locks installed as he was franchised through the Red Roof Inn and they were making him do it or lose the franchise, and I paged Ken and he was like, I am not doing it for less than $7,000 and I want cash up front because this dude's checks sometimes bounced. I called him back and he was like freaking still over the price but agreed to pay and when I said cash only, he got all pissy and I told him I was a second away from hanging up on his ass and when Ken got home, he called the main number for Red Roof and they assured him that it would be paid. It took him 2 weeks, he had to put some regular customers on the burner, but if they just wanted a key cut, I could do that so we did OK.
And of course the first day this asswipe follows him around till he told him to get lost or he was leaving. When the job was done, he tried OF COURSE to pay him by check and had the balls to say could he post date it???? Ken lost it! He told him he was not leaving till he got cash in his hand and threatened to even call the cops and this asshole hates cops so he scurried into his office and came out with cash!! I knew he had money, he wanted to always cheat people or want special favors or a discount and I am hear to tell you, that was the last time Ken ever did anything more for him!!! Right after I told him off, I actually went to work for the dept and quit working full time at the store and by that point his wife and daughters were long gone. And he was pretty much banned from Bratt!! Not long after him, another Indian asswipe who opened up a restaurant was busted by ICE and Immigration for having illegals work in the restaurant and for not paying any taxes and he lost his shirt and had the balls to call everyone in the selectman's office a racist because he got busted and shut down! So you see why I hate these people???
And boy do I know all about Mexicans and Puerto Ricans!! They are here too, and I know where you are coming from on the Nada Habbla English!! I was at Walmart last week and of course they hire anybody, fresh off the boat, and I was trying to return a shirt and I had the receipt and she got all flustered because she did not know a code to put in the register and the woman next to her who is a flaming b*tch, would not help her because she was tied up with someone sending cash through their money wire service and that person, Lord Knows what language he was speaking and I finally said to the air, Does anyone KNOW ENGLISH HERE?? I got rude looks, I didn't care!! Finally, I flagged down a manager and she took care of me, but I said to her, "can you please have people in customer service know English"??? She just shrugged. And when I used to have cable, I have DISH and luckily all their agents are in this hemisphere whereas Charter outsourced their customer service to of all places INDIA and what a lesson in frustration if you were calling to say that you have a problem with your cable or internet and they don't have a clue where MI is and nor do they care!!
I used to get them all pissed off when I would ask to be transferred back to the US because I will be dammed if I am learning any of the Indian dialect!!! When I went to meet my bio family for the first time, I felt like Passaic had turned into the Dominican Republic! Not one person spoke English no matter where we went!! The taxi driver who drove me to my aunt's was speaking a dialect I could not remotely understand, he blew through two red lights, drove up on the sidewalk and almost hit a kid on a bike, the whole time he was screeching into his mike and I felt like I was not in this country anymore and was surely going to be injured or killed!! When he got to my aunt's he got out and opened the trunk and just threw my luggage on the ground and then stuck his hand out! I gave him the exact fare because I was not about to tip him!!! He yelled something at me and went flying out of the driveway!! So I think we need to start shutting down the borders. I also feel that Osama Bin Forgotten is going strike again and this time we are not going to take it from behind if we smarten up and don't these barbarians into OUR COUNTRY!!!!

I just started drinking it approx. 3 years ago. Everbody would say how do u wake up in the a.m. without it. I still drink milk with my meals  My DH always drank it and i would take a sip of his and it led to 2 sips then 3 and before i knew it was onto a full cup. I think thats why my body is in shock. Winter time i always have tea at night. Menopause has been my glitch for sleep and the quality has truly never come back. I get to points where i am fried. So my Doc gawd luv em once a year when i drag my tired azz in desperate for sleep will give me 10 sleeping pills to last me the year. And says see ya next year. So i really pick my times when i take them as he would never give me anymore than that. Thats a good thing as i can see how people can rely on them. Too bad Michael didn't have my Doc as one look and his azz would have been in rehab if he had to drag him there himself.

Hey we laughed i think the next day and to this day. We have Griswold vacations every now and again so we just go with the flow. I think the worst tho was being stuck in an airport for 2 days in an ice storm and sleeping on the floor. Us and our kids and 2 other families with their kids. All teens thank gawd. I cant figure out to this day why nobody complained that whole time. Not one of the kids or us adults. Finally they get us out and enroute to the resort some of our group started vomitting. Next day more of us getting ill. Norwalk. So i think we got maybe 3 days of that vacation we could enjoy. Still nobody said a dang negative word  I buy large coffee with a creamer on the side. Maybe herbs would help you. Have you ever heard of Cell Salts? If there is a homeopathic store near you, buy some Calms Forte. A drugstore would carry Melatonin. Google it Beem... When you dissolve 2 Calms Forte under your tongue and take 3 Melatonin your body gets a very natural sleep. Because your allergic to over the counter stuff, herbs will probably work well with you.

i haven't had much experience with middle eastern people in my corner of the world, mostly we have issues with mexicans over here.
what really pisses me off is going to jack in the box to order a damn burger and the girl taking my order has NO IDEA what i am saying and i have NO IDEA what she is saying because she only speaks broken english. this might sound harsh but if they cannot SPEAK ENGLISH COHERENTLY then they might as well not be speaking it at all in my opinion.
LOL! I totally feel you! (not literally, of course, I don't want anyone to tell us to get a room because then I'd have to slap them....) I couldn't care less what someone's primary language is, I just want my burger to be right! I can't tell you how many times I have gotten the wrong order because of a language barrier...I could order in Spanish, but I don't want to assume and insult anyone, you know, because that's happened...

Wind you sure have had and have some experiences. Toronto is a melting pot. My city not so much. I do recall now a few months back hubby on the phone over our son's xbox. Third time it had to go back for the fix they knew was a flaw and all cost absorbed by them. Hubby was on the phone for sometime pushing menu buttons finally gets a person. Very poor English. I'm looking at him as i think he is being so rude as he is repeating and getting louder. Finally he hands me the phone. About 20 minutes later i am half yelling and stern. Get all the way thru and she just cant get our address right. Repeats it back to me after i yell spell it to her. I thought if i had to tell her one more time i live in the province of Ontario which comes up on most pc's as simply ON i was going to have a breakdown. She keeps telling me there is no Ontario but there is an ON. Lady i know where i live. I finally hand the phone back to hubby and went outside to smoke

It was this flocking material that could be spray painted on bald heads to, I swear, flock them so it looked like "hair"...
Mine snores, too.
I remember that one too LMAO!!!!! They all snore-and they deny it. Mine has tried every device etc. when i threatened to move into the spare room. I remember reading in Ann lander's advice years ago-sew a tennis ball into the seat of the jammy bottoms. What if they dont wear jammies?

I like my french fries with chip dip or Ranch dressing. my DH snores so bad I can hear it across the house. He went for an all night sleep study and was prescibed this contraption he wears on his face at nigh. C PAP. the snoring is not there and he feels great in the morning.........when he uses it.
Bree my fiance from years ago and I drove through Canada to get to Boston one summer during a thunderstorm. Everyone was pulling off the road while it stormed. We thought there was a tornado warning we did not know about.
we pulled into a gas station and asked an employee what was up. He said "We do not drive in thunderstorms like you yankees. We want to be safe" I never have been called a yankee before and since but it was fun. sara

One of my sons has ranch on everything. I luv watching him dress his mashed potatoes. The right amt. of butter, then pepper, then ranch topped off with bacon bits  I pull over in thunderstorms only cuz i get scared if it rains so hard i cant see and am in 6 lanes of traffic going at a high rate of speed with maybe an inch between. That reminds me of a joke I heard many years ago about a man who was laying on the beach trying to score a girl. Next to him was another guy on a blanket who always had a few hot chics hanging around him.
Day after day the skinny guy went to that beach and wore tight bathing suits, wore expensive sunglasses, oiled himself, had a great tan, stationed his boombox played great music, and still nothing he did attracted the females.
Finally he asked the guy next to him how to catch girls. The guy suggested that he put a potato in his bathing suit and told him to walk along the shore promising him the hot chics would come to him.
So, the next day he did that, but no girls came.
Later that day he went to the guy who gave him the advice and said, "What happened? I tried to approach the hot chics and they ran when they saw me walking toward them!"
The guy said, "You're supposed to put the potato in the front." :hat:

Now that was funny Nawny. I have a personal opine of men suits. Nobody over the age of say 8ish should wear a speedo-it is just so so wrong. Now women i feel different when i am away. I remember a group of youngins were commenting on a rather large lady in a two piece who's tummy was kinda hanging over. Finally i heard enough and leaned over and said how great i though it was she was over herself. Perhaps they should do the same. Not many women of large size can do that. More power too her. Now we all know men in a speedo are not over themselves

I just had an interesting convo with my nurse daughter and of course we had to talk about the MJ death. I did not know we in Ontario have an existing data bank for those who Doc/med shop. A bit of tweaking yet but at least it exists. I did not know that. Pharmacy or a Doc can easily check apparently but does not always red flag and notify a Dr. Apparently working out the bugs. I am hoping that is one thing that can come from his death. We have a great Doc shortage here. Many are forced to go to hospital clinics or walk in clinics. Sad part is there are people with real pain who do require meds. No Doc here thru a clinic will prescribe a narcotic. Signs stating as such in the waiting rooms. So no Doc- no pain meds. Now if u present in emerg in agony of course thats different. I remember years ago when i had a kidney stone and it took a really long time to diagnose as it was imbedded. I landed in emerg one night just a coupla days after it was finally found during an IVP test. The Doc went a pulled my reults before he would give me any pain relief. Not that it helped anyways as pain was mach 90 by then. I truly hope something good will come of the circus i suspect its about to become.

That would be great Bree. I would hate for you to ever go through that pain again or for that matter anyone else. I am lucky my ER is a few blocks away and I get migraines once or twice a year. If my medicine does not work I go to that er and they immediately give me a shot after checking my records. My personal physician has given me a prescription and he trusts me. I feel lucky. MJ was not but I guess no matter what rich people can get around most anything. sara
P.S. Amy management luves her cuz she is a money nazi. How is your day going? Did u get down to see your parents? How is everyone coping?
Thanks for asking, and to Samantha Jane.
I was there for 2 nights. We are trying to wean them from having a "kid" around 24/7 as we won't be @ the nursing home that much. But, last night, the nurse called me, either stay w/Mom or take her home. Daddy had a horrible time midnight to 4 am. And not because Mom was bothering him, either--she was asleep for most of it (that's one of the nurses' favorite complaints, Mom bothers him, keeps him riled.)
They still make reference to "going home" and Mom talks about driving the "new" car. Ain't gonna happen. Mom says (and her sister confirms) that they had been talking about moving into town for about 2 years, just wish they had acted on that. The agency for aging "tested" them the other day. Mom's "clock" that they use to check for Alzhiemers is still spot on clear. Daddy's--sister says he was off the charts. So, guess we worried about the wrong one for Alzheimers, but Mom clearly has some sort of dementia going on, as she seems worse than Daddy. Daddy is an outdoor kind of guy, and I just don't seem him lasting long shut up in a room, and I don't think taking walks outside will satisfy him--he wants to tinker w/lawn mowers and mow stuff!!! Mom wanders off and gets lost, so hopefully SHE will spend her time in their room.
Guess we just take it one day @ a time. Tomorrow, they really will transfer to the nursing home--unless someone comes up with another delay. It's only been 3 weeks, and seems more like 3 months. Then we have 30 days to come up with where things go next. The only good thing to come out of it was they HAD to sign the power of attorney papers. Daddy wouldn't, cuz HE is in control of decisions about him. Mom wouldn't cuz she didn't want to "hurt anyone's feelings." The 2 sisters I voted for were selected, which gets things out of the control of the 2 sisters who have manipulated and taken advantage of them @ every turn for 30 years or more.
Sorry the post is so long, so much to vent about!! lol
Yes its finally a beautiful day! THe lawn is as green as can be and the trees and flowers are so beautiful today. It's the first day in ages when I didn't have the heat or a jacket on. I actually had the air on in my car as I did my errands. Very soon I'll be complaining about the heat! I hate it when the ice cream melts on the way home from the market. :)
We've been having temps over 100 (up to 104) for a week or so. Sure am glad my ac got fixed!!! And am glad I have an indoors job!!! It only cools down to the lower 70's over night.
:patriot:
We have Somalians and Burmese folks here now. Probably some very nice people, but it's hard to tell. The ones I have come in contact are pretty....obnoxious? Or, feeling entitled? Fresh off the boat or plane, and they (the ones I have met) pretty much expect us to hand them whatever they want, to let them do what they want, regardless of how things are "done" in America.
Such as health care. You'd think our health care system (for which they aren't paying a red cent, in taxes or in premiums) is much better than what they are accustomed to, but they expect us to provide and do some of the things that occur in 3rd world countries!!!
I was trying to prepare 1st time parents for going-home. They had to mix formula in a special way. Their "support" person was talking on the phone. The mom was trying to include herself in that conversation. So, I am trying to engage dad--and he starts talking about when they would get the birth certificate!!! I gave up. Whenever we tried to teach them anything, they already knew all about it, it seems. The next day, my day off, the boss calls and asks if I can come in and do dismissals. I said, no way, if it's these people. Then, I started feeling ashamed. The next day, I was apologizing to the boss, and she says, not to worry--it was HORRIBLE trying to dismiss these people who didn't have time to listen, cuz as they were going out the door, they were panicking, asking, how do you do this, how do we do that?
The other day, at the DMV, I was watching a lady getting what I tho't was a state ID card--she couldn't be getting a driver's license, as her hubby had to interpret--so she didn't know English so as to read the road signs. Nope, she was getting a learner's permit!!! Another lady sitting next to me almost had burst a blood vessel, she was so ticked off!!! Later, @ a 6 point intersection (where there are no right turn on red signs on EACH road) one of these ladies pulled out into the intersection, nudged forward, stopped, nudged forward---the lights went 2 rounds, all traffic stopped until she finally decided which street she wanted to take!!!
An article in the local paper the other day--one of the ladies ran into a bench where a little kid was playing. They have taken up residence (as a group) in one of the apartment complexes. The landlord says they finally marked off a certain area where the kids could play, and the cars couldn't be. Either this lady forgot, or couldn't read the signs!!! There is an agency helping them assimilate, and they give FREE drivers ed courses (I had to pay $80 for DD 5 or 6 years ago, and when son was eligible, it would have been $110!!) but they can take only so many people @ a time. I'm thinking that, until they can get into the class, they shouldn't get to drive!!!
I guess, a positive note would be for women's indepenence--I doubt in their own country a woman would be allowed to drive--that is, if they had cars as a rule. The fellow explaining their "culture" says most have only see cars in the movies.
i haven't had much experience with middle eastern people in my corner of the world, mostly we have issues with mexicans over here.
what really pisses me off is going to jack in the box to order a damn burger and the girl taking my order has NO IDEA what i am saying and i have NO IDEA what she is saying because she only speaks broken english. this might sound harsh but if they cannot SPEAK ENGLISH COHERENTLY then they might as well not be speaking it at all in my opinion.
I find it rather ironic that we have classes or seminars or whatever @ the local community college or thru some church or organization so WE can understand the cultures of people from other countries. So, in OUR businesses, whether health care, restaurant, retail, etc, WE can understand the things we can or cannot expect of people of whatever culture we are learning about. Adapt our ways and customs and laws to THEIR cultural beliefs.
THEN,if I want to travel to one of those countries, I would be (on my own) learning about the culture, learning some basics of the language. "Visitors" in some of those countries, are expected to follow and honor the customs of that country--God forbid you would do something disrespectful, such as being a woman and showing your ankles or your face.
So, we have to learn and understand their customs and adapt our laws to them if they are here, and we have to learn and understand and adapt to their customs if we go there. Isn't there something wrong with this?
Some years ago, a couple was moving to France for the husband's job. They were expected to learn French, no way would they be allowed to get away with being non-French speaking people over a 10 year span. Yet, we have folks who have been in the states for 10 or more years, and don't seem to be able to speak English!!! Well, for some, it's a farce. They understand and speak English, but DEMAND that they have interpreters.
One time, I waited for the American-born nurse who was of Mexican descent and who spoke Spanish to finish paperwork for a family. They indicated to me they spoke no English. The nurse was FURIOUS--@ ME!!!! Because these people knew and spoke English. I told her to take it up with them. They told me they did not, and if I ignored that and did the paperwork in English, I would have been in big deep doo-doo.
Another time, this nurse asked a aide from Jamaica when she (the aide) was going to go thru the Spanish classes for medical people. I told the aide she could give the answer I give--when all these non-English speaking persons attended ESL classes, you could sign me up for the next Spanish class. I didn't think it should be a one-way street, for pete's sake, especially since they were in an ENGLISH SPEAKING country!!!!
I must agree with the post about the Asians--they are here to better themselves, and they do whatever it takes. Beginning w/learning English. Education is a VERY HIGH priority in these families, and most of the kids seem to make good grades. They go to college. And they work in the family business until they do so--having a lucrative business thru hard work is another priority with most of these folks.
And there are generations of Mexicans here who came with the same idea--the families who have been here for some time came with the idea that they would learn to speak English, the kids would excel in school, they would go to college and become professional people.
Maybe it's a generational thing? There are many American kids who seem to have the same sense of entitlement that some of the more recent immigrants do. They want the big bucks without having to earn it thru schooling and hard work.
I wish I could offer suggestions, but I get nasty insomnia. And heaven help me if anything wakes me up at 3 am, because I simply cannot get back to sleep ever.
For years now (okay, decades) I have gotten along on 3-4 hours of sleep a night (or day, if I'm working nights.) I guess I have just gotten used to it, altho it surely has a negative affect on my health. Every once in a while, I do get in 5-6 hours, more recently, anyway. There just isn't enough hours in the day to do all I want to. I have to do the have to do things, and if I want any of the I want to do's, something has to give, and that would be hours of sleep.
My dream of retirement is to never have to hear an alarm, never have to have a certain time to be some where. I can be awake when I want, sleep when I want, and still be able to get in the "I want" stuff. Hope the 24 hour stores don't go down w/the economy, cuz I'm gonna still need them because I'm sure some of the times I'll be wanting to go to a store will be in the middle of the night!!! Too bad there isn't 24 hour medical clinics (ER's don't count, they are too expensive, lol) so I could just pop into a clinic any time, if I am in need of medical care.
Did you try this in California? Cause not so much normal :D Do you put catsup on everything? Because my torontonian puts it on everything. I am not sure whether to be insulted or write a paper.
Here it's ketchup or tobasco sauce or pepper, or a combination of the three. I am a person who likes to taste the FOOD, you know? A potato should have butter, salt, maybe a tad bit of sour cream. What the heck is it with chili and brocolli and cheese to ruin a good potato? I like my chili to be just that--chili, maybe some crackers, and the cheese is okay. If I'm gonna eat brocolli, how about just giving me the doggone brocolli? An egg can use some salt and pepper. Those hash browns, just some good ol' salt. The bacon or sausage? Don't chop them up and mix them up on the plate with everything else, covered with ketchup, tobasco and or/pepper!!!!

I'm waiting for the ac man. I called Wed and said I would be home Fri am, and could I get in for the morning? Sure, since I called so far ahead. NOT!!!! Did just get a call from the ac repair office, asking if it would be a good time for the available tech to come over. So, I am waiting for him. (I was very tactful, not making any sarcastic remarks about being told someone would come EARLY.)
I needed an early call, as we are moving our parents to a nursing home today, and where they are is 70 miles from here. My sisters in the area are working, so I really wanted to be able to be there to help get them moved. It was short notice, and they had to get a lot of paper work done in just a few days, hope it is all kosher.
Just got a call from a sister who says she can't talk now, she's driving. But plans to move are put off til Monday, so I guess the time I get there today isn't going to be problem. Guess I will hop down today, see what is going on, probably be the one to stay tonight. Have to work Sunday and Monday nights, so won't be able to help out (unless they put me on call for Sunday night and I get some sleep.) 'Tis a heartbreaking process, that's for sure.
I know that feeling. I'll pray for you and your parents and family. This isn't an easy time for anyone. That broke my heart when I had to do it but my mother needed the cars she could only get in a nursing home.
Luv Arby's curly fries. So many places went to those seasoned fries YUCK. Best fries around are those chip wagons. Actual potato wedges-still a bit of skin on them and deep fried. The best.
McD's french fries are the best I ever tasted. Especially after all the others bowed to the people who insisted changing the frying method. Now, it seems McD's has gone the way of the others. Good thing I don't indulge all that often, cuz now I don't have to go cold turkey on fries.:flamemad:
Now, THAT was funny!!! And, what a visual!!
I have a feeling most regular joe's will be found on the "list." I also have a feeling that the "celebrities" or those who have enough money to line the pockets of those who should report--won't be. That, and they seem to use aliases @ times, like when they don't want to be identified. If they have enough aliases, they could be reported some of the times, but still not make a red flag on the list.

No but my kids always did when younger. Ya know whats really good? Fries with gravy and ketchup and a little vinegar. Have not had that in years but thats how alot of us ate our fries. It's the best. By the time i travelled to Cali i was out of my french fry mode.
People around here long time ago would look at me like I was crazy when I put vinegar on fries. I love it. Learned it in a fish and chips rest.
Thanks, deacon and Nawny. It helps to hear from others who have gone this way. I am so hoping that they will like the nursing home enough, and realize how much easier it is on them, that they will adjust.
Well, looks like, except for deacon, I am pretty much alone here. Been off for 2 days, and just trying to catch up, and now it's time to head for work. Have a nice evening and night, you all.

I hear that Beem! Unfortunately here, they will give you a pain med for the hiccups. I had an abscessed tooth and didn't ask for pain meds, but after the treatment the dentist handed me a script for Vikes. I guess the over 50 crowd gets what ever they think will kill them. Over population and all that rot. MJ was too rich to be refused. Nothing new under the sun here. His docs were probably getting high on their own supply.

Hey Nawny! That's an oldie but goodie! I crack up every time I hear it. I've been busy and haven't had much time to get on the boards but when I do I always look for you and your funnies!

That joke is as old as Giza's mustache but it makes me laugh every time. My kids are so tired of it. When I start telling it they groan and I laugh more.
Me: Have you ever heard about the guy on the beach who couldn't catch a hot chic?
Them: Oh no Ma! Not that one again!!

I had a sweet day. I went to my oldest weeble's recital today and my little boy weeble sat with us in the auditorium. He was so funny and witty. he's 4 years old. He said, "Nawny, ya know poppa has very beautiful hair. and I don't say any bad bathroom words. But my other poppa does and nawna Minnie is gonna bop him for it."
THe recital was fantastic. Such beautiful souls and so much talent! I cried of course.
Then we went to Roma's Italian restaurant and the menu was torture. I had Cesar salad, Veal Francese, Fettucini Alfredo, NY Cheese cake with fresh strawberries and a Nutty Irish Coffee. I ate myself stupid bad! :punch:
Going to sleep now and I'm sure I'll wake up a size bigger. Tonight, I am grateful for my life and I don't care about sizes .. tomorrow is another matter. I'll be off carbs for a week so I can wear my favorite jeans. :)
Good night all!

MJ was not but I guess no matter what rich people can get around most anything. sara
Yes they sure do dont they sara. Money talks. We also have strict rules at pharmacy that i know have been in place for several years. For any script renewal they will check and see when you last filled it-for any med. Say its day 24 of 30 day supply of a heartburn med. Dont bother asking for it to be filled until day 28 or 29. If its a pain med they will tell you how many you should have left and call back when you are down to say 2 pills. Now they will make exceptions for people who are travelling. One thing i run into is at my physical my Doc will give me a script for say my cold sore med and cream to have on hand. I seem to get them now with every cold. I keep the script on file at pharmacy. He will generally write a repeat or two for the year. If u dont order or even re-order within a year the script is void.

I agree w/the money thing. Some docs will do plenty to keep on the good side of the rich and famous, for the money, and for the "status" of being a doc for a celebrity. IMO

The insurance companies also have a say in refills. DD was to have surgery some 200+ miles away, and her psychotropic med was due to be refilled during the week we were to be gone. No could do--insurance wouldn't pay for the refill until such and such a date. My option was to have the refill mailed to my aunt's address where we were to be for the week. I asked if I could just buy a week's worth--sure for $50, and then another $50 dollars when I would pick up the second half of the refill. Like I had even the $50 let alone $100!!!! The pharmacist finally took pity on me, and we got the amount needed for when the script ran out, the rest to be picked up on return to town. I'd been going to that pharmacy for over 30 years, for Pete's sake!!! We have never fudged on getting meds, trying for extra, etc etc etc. RARELY did we have scripts for pain meds, mostly anitbiotics and my diabetic medication. DD's Paxil or whatever she was on @ the time was the only controlled med we had.

Sorry the post is so long, so much to vent about!! lol

I will never forget when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I went home with being told to take aspirin. I ended up with terrible pain and could not eat, sleep or work for a week. I paced and paced and called the oral surgeon every day begging for a painkiller and he kept telling me to take aspirin. Then I went to have my stitches and removed and he says "oh my. you have a dry socket(raw nerve exposed to the air. not good). He puts a little piece of paper soaked in oil of clove where the tooth had been and the pain left in less than a minute. First even though he was being careful he should have known this was possible and given me something stronger than aspirin. Second he should have told me about oil of clove and he did not. Whenever I talk to someone who is going to get their teeth pulled I send them to a health store to buy the oil of clove just in case. Some Dr's can be overboard the other way when it comes to pain pills IMO sara

And they talk about SOCIALIZED MEDICINE?????? Western medicine men need a kick in the ass. I swear ta gawd!!! They seem bent on bugging decent people and they are the most responsible for the drug problems in this entire country as we pay and pay and pay...If I pay over 500 a month for 20 years and don't need to use my insurance during that time, that means I've given them $120,000 for nothing. The way Drs are prescribing these days it makes me mad that the ins companies only pay for one med of the same type, so if you get 2 blood pressure scripts, you pay for one of them and on and on.

It's good to vent Amy. Cathartic. I feel for you and your family. One parent in that condition is hard, I can't imagine both! I'd love to say everything will be fine, and it will, but that doesn't make what's happening in your life easier right this minute. I'm remembering my own mother and how difficult it was to see her begin to fail mentally. I had to resign to the idea that she would never be able to think clearly again, and in a way I thought she was just tired. I could be in her shoes one day.
I tell my children now, If I ever get that way, please get me a room with a view of the ocean and go on and live your life. It is the last gift I can give you. I do not want you to suffer for me. Go play! Be happy and know I am cared for. They know I have CRS disorder, and it's a prelude I tell them, to that room with the view of the ocean! :hat:

thanks Bree. He is one of the many reasons I usually treat myself with herbs or over the counter medicine. my DH hates it but is finally starting to see I know what I am doing.......sara
When I had my hysterectomy, I had a catheter for a week (OMG, what an experience!!!) I was for sure the discomfort I was feeling was from the catheter. When it was removed, the discomfort didn't go away, but I was sure it would. On the way out of the exam area, I told the doc (whom I had worked w/@ the hospital for years) it was a good thing the cath didn't have to go back in, people hadn't seen "postal" til they have seen a postal nurse!!! He said, here's a renewal on your pain med--you had the same as 3 surgeries, you need it.
When I went back in for an exam, the doctor I originally went to did the exam instead of the surgeon. I still had this awful discomfort. She says, you should be on plain tylenol by now. But, she did give me a script for Tyl #3. She commented, hmm, that stitch looks a little tight. As time went on, I felt worse and worse. I ended up IN BED, rather than improving. I took TWO Tyl #3 and she had a cow, worried about my freakin' liver. I work in a hospital, and the order is normally one or two every 3-4 hours for pain. So, my taking two (once, cuz there was no effect) wasn't going to do a damn thing to my liver.
She did get pretty po'd when I even tried some morphine tabs my sister had left over from some surgery. (Okay, I know you're not suppose to use other people's meds. :o but desperate times call for desparate measures.) It worked for about 5 minutes, then the effects wore off. On a Sat, I called her. I was nauseated, in pain, had the chills, this is NOT how it should be!!! She said, well, she can't just call in a script for a narcotic, she would have to write one. My sister asked where she was, and she (my sis) would be right there to pick up a script. She reluctantly agreed, as long as I came into the office on Mon.
I go in, she removes the tight stitch, and I didn't even need to take a plain Tylenol after that. Who knew such a small thing as a stitch could make one's life so miserable? Poor DD had a birthday toward the end of my misery. Thank goodness for my sister and niece. My niece had to pick DD up from camp, and conduct her birthday party.

I am on Medicare and I am very grateful I have insurance because my meds run about $1,000 a month and I bet it only costs pennies to make the pills themselves and then the pharmacy gets their cut and before you know it 30 pills x one penny is 30 cents, but when you go to the RX, it is a whopping $110!! A couple of weeks ago I was waiting at mine for a re-fill and an elderly woman who I would have guessed would also be on Medicare walked up to the counter to pick up her and her husband's meds. I almost fainted when I heard Denise tell her that it was $2,133!!! The woman dug through her purse and pulled out a credit card and she looked so worried I was afraid the card was going to decline on her, but it went through and she smiled at me and I said to her, WOW! And she tells me that she and hubby HAD insurance through his company and that one folded about 5 months ago, they made car parts for GM and Ford and they are left to fend for themselves and that they are waiting to be approved for Medicare and until then, which can take 45 days to 6 months to be approved, they have had to buy their meds and this is sad. Welfare Queens will automatically get Medicaid for themselves and their kids, but people who worked all their lives at the same place, have to wait and worry.
She then tells me, that they are grateful the own their home, but are behind in property taxes and she is worried they will lose their home to the township they live in and I was so disgusted and I feel for them so bad. Her husband went to work for that company after coming home from the Vietnam war and until November, he thought he was set for life and that he wanted to retire at age 67 and then they were going to travel and boom, out of nowhere he and the others were told the company was packing it's tent and going to Mexico because they can pay workers there a few pesos to do what they all did here for a lot more and he has not been able to find anything else and I would imagine, at some point his unemployment checks are gonna run out and she only works part time at a laundry. And they are forced to pay out of pocket, their diabetes pills, heart pills and high blood pressure pills and she has bad back pain and is on painkillers and all that adds up to 2 grand!!!
How much longer do you think they are going to be able to do this??? I, as much as I admire President Obama, he has his work cut out for him to come up with a universal health plan that everyone from Congress to the drug companies can agree on, because these drug companies are making money hand over fist and they are not going to like it if Obama has them enact a set price for all meds because as it stands now, they can charge whatever they feel like and we all have to just lump it. Now the part D I have now, has been cheerfully paying for their end of bargain, but I fully expect since I have had to do this 6 other times, that I will have to change plans in Jan, when they have the right to change the formulary and what I mean by this, 6 other companies, all took Oxycotin off their approved drugs and I have yet to get a straight answer from the previous ones, and don't insult my intelligence, because it is the ALMIGHTY DOLLAR!!!
Vicodin costs about $9 for a 30 day supply whereas Oxy costs about $130 so of course the last 6 wanted my doctor to switch me and she told them no because my liver is compromised and then she had to send a letter stating as to why I have to be on Oxy, and it could take SIX FREAKING MONTHS FOR THEM TO APPROVE IT! So you can see I am used to playing the let's change insurance companies for 100th time!! And you can thank that asshole Bush for this!! Private HMO's hooking up with the Gov is a BAD IDEA!!! The companies, I think thought they were gonna get even more wealthier, till they saw how much drugs cost and then because they balked at the prices, we Medicare folks are the ones suffering and what a pain in the ass it has been to change companies as it gets the RX's upset because they have to keep updating our records and card infos and numbers, just a pain in the ass for everybody but the drug companies. So I don't even know if Obama can grab this rabbit out of the hat, he is on the right track, his heart is in the right place, he cares about all of us Americans and is putting us first, he wants to pull the troops from Iraq and hopefully, more troops will be coming home, but I think we should stay in Afganistan, we might catch that POS Bin Laden someday. I just don't know if he can pull off the heath issue without a lot of flack and you know how some people are just hoping he falls on his face, the naysayers on the networks who I would like to ask them, like that Glen Beck, if he could do any better???

I wonder if that stitch was in fact too tight. I know what you mean about pain meds. When I have a migraine I do not worry about my liver. I just want to cut my head off. I know there are many nerves in the area of your surgery too. They should have known you needed more than tylenol. Thank goodness your sister was so supportive and helpful. I know that can mean a lot. I hope you do not have to do that again. sara

The other day I read a post here where a cop from NY was having sex with teenage girls and even taking them over state lines into NJ and I got a great idea that I passed along to Deep Water to ask what she thinks about starting a forum/warning site about local sex offenders and rapists, different than the one we have now, because this would be like how John Walsh has his 15 minutes of shame segment on his show and this is what gave me an idea. Now you all know how much I hate that POS scumbag ex-cop that terrorized me and 5 other women and molested and abused his own daughters and step-daughters and has never spent a second behind bars, however, he was kicked off the force and IMO he should be a on SO registry but because he was never convicted, he isn't and we all know that just because he wasn't, that does not mean he did not do all his evil to those women and kids.
So my idea is this. We post and if possible post pictures and all their info, like where they live, DOB, physical description if no pictures are available, all our local offenders and ones from all our states because just today, a scumbag here raped a child and is in custody thanks to a good description given by the victim. Now if I were to post this on a forum, a woman might decide to join us, say she is from MI, and reads this forum and sees a picture or a name and realizes that is the animal that raped her daughter and has been in the wind for months!! Kinda like an AMBER ALERT BUT IT WILL BE A PERVERT ALERT INSTEAD!! It does no good to read a SO registry if the scum are not on one, and I feel since so many of them walk like that POS I hate, because the victims are too traumatized to testify against them or the DA thinks the victims are too young to understand court proceedings and I am hear to tell you, that every case involving a young child during my tenure, were able to articulate and were able to tell in a child's honesty actually what had been done to them, and then, the judge gives the scumbag PROBATION and that is VT for you!!
So my take is this. We will have our own board of shame, and I feel that we could be saving lives by doing this. Had all of Scumbag's victims known about the other abused women and children, they would have never hooked up with him and I know this POS well, he can run a line of bullsh*it that even fooled little ole me and surely would still be able to fool a very vulnerable woman like his third wife was and the things he did to her and her kids, he would surely do again and that is why I keep track of him in my own way, namely, a police contact who keeps me informed. So do you think we all can do this? And you guys from Canada can also do the same with your scum, don't forget a lot of our riff raff always try to run for the border, so you can post about yours!!! So let me know what you think about this, as DW thinks it is a marvelous idea and instead of posting in the PED thread, we can have this as warning site more so than a forum.

This was written by a young man doing his duty. We ALL need to think about this:
This is written by a young soldier serving his third tour of duty in Iraq. Thought you might find his take on the Michael Jackson news interesting and he's right.
Okay, I need to rant.
I was just watching the news, and I caught part of a report on Michael Jackson. As we all know, Jackson died the other day. He was an entertainer who performed for decades. He made millions, he spent millions, and he did a lot of things that make him a villain to many people. I understand that his death would affect a lot of people, and I respect those people who mourn his death, but that isn't the point of my rant.
Why is it that when ONE man dies, the whole of America loses their minds with grief. When a man dies whose only contribution to the country was to ENTERTAIN people, the American people find the need to flock to a memorial in Hollywood, and even Congress sees the need to hold a "moment of silence" for his passing?
Am I missing something here? ONE man dies, and all of a sudden he's a freaking martyr because he entertained us for a few decades? What about all those SOLDIERS who have died to give us freedom? All those Soldiers who, knowing that they would be asked to fight in a war, still raised their hands and swore to defend the Constitution and the United States of America. Where is their moment of silence? Where are the people flocking to their graves or memorials and mourning over them because they made the ultimate sacrifice? Why is it when a Soldier dies, there are more people saying "good riddence," and "thank God for IEDs?" When did this country become so calloused to the sacrifice of GOOD MEN and WOMEN, that they can arbitrarily blow off their deaths, and instead, throw themselves into mourning for a "Pop Icon?"
I think that if they are going to hold a moment of silence IN CONGRESS for Michael Jackson, they need to hold a moment of silence for every service member killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They need to PUBLICLY recognize every life that has been lost so that the American people can live their callous little lives in the luxury and freedom that WE,
those that are living and those that have gone on, have provided for them. But, wait, that would take too much time, because there have been so many willing to make that sacrifice. After all, we will never make millions of dollars. We will never star in movies, or write hit songs that the world will listen too. We only shed our blood, sweat and tears so that people can enjoy what they have.
Sorry if I have offended, but I needed to say it. Remember these five words the next time you think of someone
who is serving in the military;
"So that others may live..."
Isaac
P.S.- "So that other's may live.. ." was also the creed of the Air Rescue & Recovery Service during Vietnam & is still today.

ITA with this young man that this MJ debacle has gone overboard! In Gary IN, they had a MJ day, complete with all the fanfare, and Hollyweird and the Jackson family had their charade and his death is being hashed over and over by all the networks, turned on NG just now, turned it to another channel because she is gonna spin on this for months just like she did with ANS and it got so tiresome, I stopped watching her for months. Now today, his low life father announced he wants to exploit MJ's poor kids by turning them into a sideshow, where he fully expects to be their manager and get this, wants custody of them now too, and we all know why! So he can sleaze money off them, he don't give a crap about those kids, just like he doesn't give a crap about his own, all he cares about is himself and what he can get out of it, he made it perfectly clear the night of the BET awards, that he did not give a crap about MJ dying, only how he can cash in and I wish he would just drop dead too!!
I posted about a woman who was pissed off that the day before MJ died, her son was killed in Iraq and where was the moment of recognition for him? He rated a quick blurb on CNN, but they were too BUSY over this has been child molesting drug addict, to even mention his name, all they said was three soldiers died in Iraq and I am feeling this woman's pain and every soldier that is over there keeping us safe and free and at this point, I think you all know how I feel about MJ and his life, I don't. They are dying over there in droves in this senseless war and MJ is more important than them and that is appalling. He was just a singer, made millions, then he molested children, and now he died a broke addict and these brave men and women are over there, wondering when they wake up in their foxhole or tent, is this going to be their last day on earth? They constantly have to be vigilant because even a kid could lob a bomb their way and it would be over for them and does anyone in the media care right now??? NO MJ rates over them because dead soldiers don't sell air time, nor does it give Jane or Nancy the chance to fire off their BOMBSHELLS!!!
:patriot: I swear I saw Jane swooning when she was rattling off at the mouth about MJ!!! And for the two seconds I had NG on, she was foaming at the mouth at the prospect of giving her opinions about the "King of Pop" And I hope this soldier sent every network this letter too, but I don't think most of them would give a crap. ratings, ratings, ratings!!!! The only one I think who might be humbled by this would be Anderson Cooper and I hope he does read this letter, brought tears to my eyes and Anderson has been in the battlefields with these brave people and knows what it is like there, whereas Jane could not possibly go over there, her makeup would melt in the hot sun and Nancy couldn't go either, could not leave those twins she can't get enough of bragging about. SO I am kinda boycotting them both now, if they have anything else to rap about besides where oh where is the casket? Get a load of those needle marks huh, I might turn them on again. And who really gives a crap where he is buried? I could give a sh*t less. So thank you so much for posting this ,and how righteous this man is and if I knew his name, I would surely write to him every day.

MJ gave us all a gift, but we wouldn't have the luxury of seeing and hearing, and buying his wares if not for the soldiers who fought for our freedom. That's evident. Millions and millions didn't make him happy or even human. He would have loved to have the respect and adoration of those men in uniform. MJ had no life. He only had toys.
I smile when I hear how much money MJ gave to causes. Of course he did. It was either that or Pay it to Uncle Sam.

I dont own any of MJ's music however i did admire his talent. In my opine one of the greatest dancers of all times. Then Jacko seemed to go Wacko. I dont know if he molested those kids or not. I feel that he is answering to it now with a higher power-or not. It is sad but it is human nature. We idolize and put people on pedestals. Not many who dont fall. Money and power changes people. In my opine humans really aren't programmed to handle it-especially the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. The few that have i do admire-as people.

McD's french fries are the best I ever tasted. Especially after all the others bowed to the people who insisted changing the frying method. Now, it seems McD's has gone the way of the others. Good thing I don't indulge all that often, cuz now I don't have to go cold turkey on fries.:flamemad:
You know what else I miss? McD's fried pies! Now they are baked to make them healthy. If I want health food, I won't be at McD's, so fry my darn pie! :flamemad: You can still get them fried in San Diego and in Mexico. Last time I was in Mexico City, I bought all the apple pies the McD's had at the airport, 15! and froze them...I was eating fried pies for 6 months. happy. Real good friends would be offered my contraband:)

I'm just pretty sure that, down in the basement, I have in my large stack of records @ least ONE album- of the Jackson 5. I enjoyed their music back in the day, but I don't remember their being my most favorite of all singers (I think we were really into the Osmonds and Andy Williams @ the time, along w/Laurence Welk--because of the Lennon Sisters.)
I'm not sure I have even heard MJ solo--I was well into the country music genre by that time. And, I haven't seen him dance. I do remember reading some about his plastic surgery, but I try not to read too much of the Hollywood folks--lies for publicity, or moving in and out of relationships and beds on seemingly a daily basis.
I pretty much quit paying attention when I realized that the "stars" really expected the lowly public to think THEY were the final word in all things political, and we should listen to THEM. (I don't know if MJ was in the political game or not, cuz I quit reading about him, but I do know there are plenty others who are.)
I think there could have been something more about Farrah Fawcett, and Dom DeLoise, and less about MJ. You'd think he was Princess Di for all the hoopla that was going on. Thank goodness for cable tv--there were many networks that carried on regular programming.

Seems like things differ in foods from state to state. I got funny looks when I asked for malt vinegar for my fries, in Connecticut. One state away. They use ketchup! And there, they give you mayonnaise on your cheeseburgers.. OMG! In RI it's mustard on burgers and malt vinegar on the fries. My mouth is now watering.

What's with the gravy on fries. I never saw that in my life!? Is it red gravy or brown? I meant to ask a few posts back.
I think it's a south of the Mason-Dixon line thing.
I was in GA in December, you want yummy food that will kill you, the American South is the place to go!! :D

It is a chain all over the place. Not fancy at all but good burgers.
You don't get as many funny looks here as you once did.

I guess, in my case, it really doesn't matter that the fries are healthier. They don't taste good enough for me to put out for even the small on the dollar menu. Maybe that's what the food patrol idjuts are angling for--the food just won't taste good enough to buy, so all the fast food places will go out of business. OTOH, I just don't see me patronizing the neighborhood tofu deli. I don't have a clue how it tastes, it looks so damn gross I wouldn't touch it, let alone put it in my mouth!!!! :flamemad:
I don't even think I have seen malt vinegar. Cider vinegar and white vinegar is all I've looked for @ the store. (Not a cook here, as you all can probably tell, lol.)

Oh man is that ever the truth! Those pies were great, now they are just okay.

Around here, I have seen folks use the thingies they give out (well, you do have to pay for them these days) for chicken nuggets on their fries. Sweet n sour, ranch, honey mustard, I think. Probably something w/a little more zing, too. I don't know, because I don't take them, didn't even when they were free. And ketchup, of course.
Sonic here puts mayo on some of their burgers as a standard. You have to ask for the mustard or ketchup and have to ask them to hold the mayo. Good grief. Mustard and Ketchup, pickles and lettuce, and onions for those who like them. That's what go on hamburgers.
There is a chicken strip dinner that includes texas toast and gravy. I tho't I'd have to petition congress the other day to get just the strips. I guess it's a white gravy. Whatever that means. Growing up, white gravy to us was hamburger gravy (my mom wasn't a five star chef, either, we ate farm plain, which is the way I like it.)

In recent days when they were playing all the songs from the early Jackson five, it brought back memories of being eleven years old, on summer break reading Dark Shadow books and eating chocolate Ice Cube candy. Yum

LOL My DH only dances when he has had a few. But then he is so cute and not bad. I love it that your kids do that. We play it loud too. sara
When the kids were little, every once in a while I would boogie them around the floor. Later, when they were talking about dancing, I asked where in the world did they learn to dance. They said, from ME!!! LMAO!!!
When I was a young adult, the clubs around here were mostly country western, so of course the 2 step was a pretty common dance. I remembered enjoying the dancing. So, when the company started having dances for the annual Christmas party, I finally talked my SO into going to one. When we got up and started dancing, I remembered--HIS dancing wasn't what I had enjoyed so much, it was BILL's!!!! I stood there chuckling about that, but couldn't bring myself to tell him why. Bless his heart!!! But, dang!!!! My knees hurt like heck from dancing in a tiny circle. With Bill we danced around the floor!!!! Oh, and I haven't been back to one of those parties since.

Now, it seems mostly it's called pop. I went to school in the center of the state (coming from the far west) and went on a date with a fellow who was mumbling something--come to find out, he was asking if I wanted a soda. A WHAT????

I went to get weighed today and found out since the last time I did, I have not lost any!! I called the DR today because I think I am at the point where I am going to have to have the band tightened because you reach this plateau where your body is used to the band and you can eat more without feeling full and that is how I feel today so I am hoping to move my appt up from August 14th to like this coming week? I did cheat a tad last weekend at my godson's birthday. His Mom got one of those Dairy Queen ice cream cakes and it was the best dam thing I have eaten in months and I only allowed myself a small sliver and I had a hot dog and I told my doctor today and she was like, well ya got treat yourself sometimes and she reminded me that since Feb, I have lost a total of 45 lbs!!! I sorta see a change in my body, but I do fear I am going to have to have a tummy tuck because there is no way I am going to diet off that pooch I have had for years and I now can see my belly bottom so that is a big deal to me!!!
On another note, check out the DP board and see what I saw the other night on NATGEO and and did anyone else see this too? Very interesting and sure bolstered my feelings on the DP.

Well, the Baptist have softened their stance on dancing. Even the older people like it now. They call it Interpretive Movement. Ha, they can't even call it what it is. I always found that odd since King David danced on many occasions as a part of worship.

That was actually used as an example of why dance was bad...you can lose control of yourself, hence Michal's reaction to his nude frollicking...But my favorite was when there was grumbling about no senior dance at the adventist school and we were lectured about how we "wouldn't want to dance with someone of the same sex, would you? No, it is all about being belly to belly..." and then it got more uncomfortable from there.
I don't see a problem with dignified fun dancing, myself...

20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, "How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!"
21 David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the LORD's people Israel—I will celebrate before the LORD. 22 I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor."
23 And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death
This is the part I was thinking of. Michal had no children because she judged the "why" of the dance. Hmmm.

Think of a number you want to lose. Say the mantra, "I LOST WEIGHT" everyday hundreds of times. Don't say, "I'm losing weight" Stay away from bread and sweets for a few weeks and wella! All true. I was always average weight. My life was like a running marathon. I ate like ten men when I wanted, what ever I wanted. After 40 I got thicker and thicker after a hysterectomy and I had no idea how to diet. My life slowed down after my children got married and poppa put me out to pasture from the work world. Then I got a computer. That did it! :o I hate to think about what I'm eating, I just want to eat it. But, now I think about it and eat it anyway. Too much talk about fries and gravy! Going to the luncheonette today! I always ask for my gravy on the side because they don't always spread it correctly. The gravy must be evenly distributed.
So, you are a bunch of closet dancers! I teach adult dance two nights a week and Saturday am, in addition to my full time job. I can't give it up because then I'd be dancing alone, in my basement, with three dogs staring at me.

I guess I'm lucky that that kind of stuff isn't my thing. I can eat an Oreo, I can even eat a Twinkie. I'm not big on Smores @ all. They are "decadent" enough as they are, I don't need the extra deep fry stuff. Okay, that much decadence actually makes me sick, which is why I don't indulge much. Spending the day in the bathroom just doesn't seem to make it worth my while, lol.
Now, give me a good, salty chip. That's what I like. Don't need to deep fry it, either, just eat 'em out of the bag. Depending on the chip, some kind of dip is nice, but not all chips require it.
But like I said, when I put my mind to losing weight, I lose it. The problem is, I find it again.
Just live and be happy! Beautiful is inside, not outside :seeya: Somewhere inside of nawny, there is a perfect ten!
Yep, I keep losing some of my weight, but it always finds me. My mom used to say she was on a Seefood diet. She sees food, she eats it!! lol
A friend and I were looking @ high school yearbooks the other day. I remember a pic of me, and @ the time, I tho't I was sooo fat!!! When I graduated, I was soooo fat. My driver's license @ the time listed my weight @ 106!!!! I always say, I wish I could be so fat as that again, lol. My 106 @ 5'3" WAS fat compared to my friends' 106 because they were all 5'7" and taller.

This is called prison? What a joke!:flamemad::cuss::punch::mad:
Ahhh, the fellow wants to be close to his family so they can visit him. So do probably 99.9% of convicted criminals, but do THEY get a choice? That would be no, unless they are rich and "high profile" enough to be heard about their choices. He (Madoff) or his lawyer says his choice is about the family. Well, the PRISON SENTENCE is about the criminal, and the family shouldn't matter in the placement, IMO.
I read posts on various boards where folks say prison should be about rehabilitation and all that. Well, it's called the PENAL system, which would make one think that PUNISHMENT for committing a crime is supposed to be a part of what prison is all about. And, in Madoff's case, if he is supposed to serve 150 years--is rehabilitation even a question? Of course, eveyone who thinks he will serve 150 years raise your hand. Betcha his health will "decline" and he will be out and in the bosom of his family in no time. :flamemad:

There is a charity in my area that fundraises to bring kids to see their mothers in prison once a year. The mothers didn't get a choice of prisons-they are hundreds of miles from their kids! Do you have an adult education program in your area? Sometimes counties offer them. My county stopped the adult dance program but because of that some dance studios started offering classes for grown-ups. My class has really grown in the past 5 years. Many people who took dance as kids, or in college, are coming back to it. It's a great stress reliever and fun. I have a very interesting group of ladies and 2 men. I always have men who complicate my life.

No one. Just commit a "white collar crime." I never could figure out that one. If you pull a bat on someone and take their money it is robbery, if you simply run a scheme, then it is a white collar crime.
Either that or be a politician. You will never hear of them going where they send everyone else. It isn't safe for them there. (please note sarcasm) It isn't safe for anyone there. That is because this country, as a whole, has lost the fact that one needs to take the consequences for whay they have done. Soooo when the stab someone WHILE THEY ARE IN JAIL, they simply get a slap on the wrist. Try the death house a couple of times and I'll bet you that will stop. Bring back the chain gang for EVERYONE and you will see a decrease in crime. They will not take a chance of going back. When they step out of line beat the ever lovin' poop out of them and they will get the message. They have more "rights" than you do.:flamemad:

Yes Sara, windows are all in. Now they're painting the outside of the window woodwork where they took the old storms off. No more storm windows. We have the thermopanes thingies now. Tomorrow they have to touch up the woodwork that got nicked up and after next week they start the big project. I'll be whining a lot then. Messy messy, but it has to happen. I'll be grateful for all my friends here who can turn me off with a click of a keyboard. LOL! I don't even really go to California Adventure, that's just too much park for me. But they are in the process of re-doing it to mimic Walt Disney's California Adventure, making it more 20's and 30's California oriented. They have to do something. It is not real popular, thought they try to cover that up... they have to lure people over with the Electric Light Parade and a couple of popular rides.

I try to be the best person that I can be so I know God will bless me in Heaven by reuniting me with all my pet companions. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-angelic013.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php) But, it's not always easy...http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-angelic008.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

If I am, it better be a really big house. I've had about 10 dogs and at least 25 cats during my life. We had about 12 cats at one time when I was young. Yard cats now, not house cats. Christy was a yard cat. Couldn't have run her in the house with a stick. No varmits when you have a good yard cat. And they still like to lay in your lap and get scratched.
I am watching the history channel tonight. Monster Quest. They are talking about sightings of Black Panthers in the US. Now that would be a good yard cat. No dogs pooping in my yard. :hat:

Poppa will say yes. First he'll say whaaat? You don't have enough bedspreads? Then he will think about it and say Ok. Poppa likes to make his Nawny happy. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-love059.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

LOL! Aww how cute! :) Actually he doesn't know about it yet. I'm thinking....
I put one of his houses that he hates and wants to get rid of on Craig's list yesterday. He's been going nuts with that stupid house all year. THe tenants moved out in April and left it a mess. He got a citation from the city because they left garbage on the sidewalk uncontained. All kinds of problems. THe place is his nightmare since he bought it.
He has it in the Realtors hands and it isn't moving. SO I had at it yesterday and saturated the small newspapers and Craig's list. I got a call from a New Yorker who saw my ad and wants to see it tomorrow. First bite! If the guy buys it, I'm golden! I get the quilt! He will give me a big kiss too! No commision. ;)

LOL! But it helps to whine in print. ;) All the whinebagging goes into cyber space and lands in some serendipity hole somewhere. :)
Oh yeah whining is good. anything to relieve stress. well almost
I finally opened the attachment and it is gorgeous. I would love the lt blue one. Did you read the reviews? there are 9 total and they are all positive. they do not have down which I am allergic too so that will save on Dr's if any of you are allergic. Hee Hee. I say go for it. When it is shipped it is not fluffed up but will do so after time or in a dryer with a wet towel. sara

They do the same thing here in Orlando. No black cat adoptions before Halloween. Too many sickies out there.
Sickies is right! I'm glad the shelters plan for the worst for the little guys

They better leave my cats alone. In that case I would have to revert back to "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and a life for a life." I dearly hate people who hurt pets like that.

I'm going to be popular this weekend. My owner sent me a commision check this week. He brought it with him last week but got caught up and forgot it. The last project finished without a recordable accident. 16 months, 2 million+ hours without a recordable.

No, but I wouldn't want to see what THOSE would leave in the flower beds...and you could probably call their furballs a Yorkie if you had a nearsighted visitor.

Yeah, the original is smaller. I've never been to Disneyworld so I can't say better or worse, but it is just the right size for me. I like to be able to do all I want to do in 2-3 days, and Disneyworld seems too big for that it seems?
I don't even really go to California Adventure, that's just too much park for me. But they are in the process of re-doing it to mimic Walt Disney's California Adventure, making it more 20's and 30's California oriented. They have to do something. It is not real popular, thought they try to cover that up... they have to lure people over with the Electric Light Parade and a couple of popular rides.
Ooo yes there is no way you can see (or experience) Disney world in 2 or 3 days. Nevah!!!:eek:That's why I go back every year. But I always always go to Magic Kingdom each time. I love to see the characters dance in their gowns and sparkles on the steps of the castle. I always get tears in my eyes. LOL! And the music lifts me up for weeks! God love Walt Disney. He was a genius! He lives on!

Small World broke down while we were in India...the baby took a nap. She really liked the music.
I could go to any run of the mill amusement park 4 times for what going down to Disney costs, but I would rather that one time of perfection than 4  trips! It is the best customer service anywhere. I know they can be tough on the "castmembers", but it is such a good experience!

Here in Fla they have residents' specials. Do they have them in CA too? It's not a lot, but it helps. There is also Lake Buena Vista which is the area where all the hotels, resorts and marketplace is located. You can get in for free and they have characters walking around there and some great restaurants and Disney stores. It is just beautiful during Christmas time and free.

I love the blue one too! I'm not allergic to down, nope. But it's kind of expensive for it not to be down. Look I'm talking myself out of it. It's also kind of contemporary and would look kind of out of place here. I have two spreads that are very old fashioned. I found one in a church sale in Cape Cod that really belongs here and the other one is from an old second hand store that was a real score. (You won't believe where I found that one) It is all hand crafted.
Then I have a few other quilts that are in good shape, but I can use that one folded on the foot of the bed. Okay I just talked myself back into it. I'm a bargain hunter and that catalog is a huge tease because everything in it is expensive. I think I'll play the lotto tomorrow. LOL!

Anyone here on facebook? My kids got me into it and it's fun. There's even a chat there. I enjoy it and I found Apples and Oranges there today. I check it out often and always find something to smile about. If you get on it, do a search for Jo Mazz. I think that's my name there. Or Nawny_31650.
I'm bad with the CRS disorder. Anyway, we can chat live there. :)
I'm going to go throw rotten tomatoes at Nancy Grace now. It's 10pm
