Do you think victims of attackers, or families of victims who were murdered ever really get justice? If someone you knew was murdered, what would you expect to happen to the murderer?

Personally, I can't imagine if a member of my family was murdered. I wouldn't feel any better knowing the person who did it was in jail for the rest of their life, or even on death row. Personally, I don't know how any victim deals with any of it.

I don't think justice is ever truly served. People claim knowing the person is in prision for the rest of their life, or on death row is justice being served. I don't think so. What do you think?

Seeing what my friends family (and other families as well) went through and all the trials, appeals, and the hell they all endured while this killer was sitting in prison for 15/16 yrs until he was finally executed. - I can't say that is justice. They should have executed him a lot sooner.

This is an excellent discussion topic. Something I have really wrestled with personally. IMO true justice is only served by the One that is all knowing ~ God. Our legal systems fail. . . often. And really, without a confession or eye-witness, there are many case where we cannot know who was culpable for certain. As a matter of sanity, I have to trust that God will, in his time, administer justice as He sees fit. There is nothing that escapes His knowledge.

If you have to sit there for 15-16 years waiting for the execution you know the killer is still alive. I don't really think that would ever help me, i'm not sure how some people come back from those crimes.
