Goldman's family: Simpson prison time is `karma'

NEW YORK – O.J. Simpson's rambling apology in a Las Vegas courtroom was the last-ditch bid for leniency by a "monster," the family of Ron Goldman said Monday.

"I don't believe for one single second he has an ounce of remorse in his body," Fred Goldman said on NBC's "Today." "He's never apologized for anything that he's horribly done in his life."

Goldman said Simpson's emotional, five-minute plea Friday over his confrontation last year with sports memorabilia dealers was that of "a monster who was simply trying to find a way to get the judge to give him a better deal."

Simpson was sentenced to 9 to 33 years in prison on 12 charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery, in the confrontation over collectibles that the former football star insisted were stolen from him.

Simpson's Oct. 3 conviction with a co-defendant in the Las Vegas case came 13 years to the day after he was cleared in the slaying of Ron Goldman and Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.

"Some sort of karma. And good karma," Fred Goldman said Monday of the conviction on that anniversary. "It is remarkable that, ultimately, now, we have seen him go to jail."

In a 1997 civil trial, Simpson was found liable for the deaths and ordered to pay a $33.5 million judgment to the victims' families.

Ron Goldman's sister, Kim Goldman, called Simpson's Las Vegas sentencing a "good day for us. ... It's been a long time coming."

I think it may be too late as the coincidence was readily observable as was the effort of the jury foreman to have the case decided on that date by that jury.

i agree with that def but the goldmans bringing it up everyday in papers, and interviews isnt helping the cause at all

Fred has a love affair with tv cameras and i believe that he believes that the public has a obligation to support his actions. After the sentencing he said there will never be a end to his efforts. So my question is how long does he carry this hate or his quest for more celebrity?

Fred is the one that has reserved a large part of his brain for Oj to occupy.He is the one living in a state of hate so it may be that his heart may
get tired of the stress first.

Karma which you believe in so much could come to fred for the hate he carries around and how he seems not to follow the word of god as printed in the bible.

Spending so much of his and others time to fuel his hatred is not healthy but i am sure his health is not a concern for you as your objective is to see him get oj. at any cost.

Why martin, who wouldn't reserve a tremendous amount of space in their brains for a character with such dignity and high esteem? If only we could all strive to be just like you ...

But on a serious note-I do tend to give quite a bit of thought to people who come across as stupid as you do-I'm genuinely curious as to how someone becomes so idiotic-perhaps you would be willing to share the secrets? A book maybe ... a sort of "How to Sound Really Stupid for Dummies" type of manual. Just think-it could be a best seller! :beer:

I hope orenthal 'know' he is in jail. Mr. Goldman looks well and seemed fine. Especially when you compare him to that sniveling, quivering piece of . . . that was being sentenced.

I would assume he will continue his efforts until the moment he passes away, and I personally cannot fathom considering his efforts a quest for more celebrity. It tends to make my stomach turn.
