George tells detectives that he knows his wife has been tough on LE and he has tried to put his hand over her mouth, but it infuriates her even more. George also tells detectives he now realizes it is just he and his wife and his son now and he is trying to get through it. The Detectives advise him to try and get his life back privately and that if he and Cindy go down this road of interviews, talk shows and press conferences it will become a circus. The detective (Yuri) also tells George that in Florida the liberal public records laws are going to force LE to release lots of information because the media is already requesting tons of info and they can't hold much back. So if they request info LE has to give it to them. They can hold very few things back. LE tells George that Cindy is hurting the investigatiion by going on tv and saying things that are not true, because it causes LE to have to answer to that to their superiors and it is time consuming. George says yes he has discussed that with Cindy. And LE says if she Cindy attacks us we are not going to stop doing our jobs. George says he realizes that. George says that Cindy told him LE is dogging us and they should be working with and supporting us. The detective tells George that with all due respect Cindy is creating lots of trouble for them. George begins to talk about the vigil and the fact that the one they had at the house with Casey's friends, some of her friends told them, Casey had been using lots of other cars. Ricardo said Casey has used my car on such and such date. And George says he knows she used Tony's . (He does not say whether it is after or before she dumps her own car but it sounds like it is even before because it seems to disturb George enough that he wants to tell detectives. ) LE gets back to the fact that when a lead comes in , Cindy holds them over a barrel and literally has said to them, If you all don't follow this and check on it, I will make trouble for you. He gives George an example of when the airport sighting, she made such a fuss, they sent an FBI agent there to check manifest and there were two children on there and both were checked out and not Caylee and Cindy still wanted the composite of the one woman at the airport released. And LE says they are burning up their manpower with these false leads she wants checked out. Please get her to understand. George sighs. End of part one

Yuri ask George is there anything you want to tell us about or share with us and George says that Jesse Grund who he has not always gotten along with, told him that when Caseys car quit she called Jesse and said Jesse I need your help and Jesse told her he was on the other side of town and so Casey called Tony, whom George mentions he did not want to meet because he was afraid of what he would do to him(Never says why in entire interview but I gather when he talks later about her new friends , he kind of blames them for the change in Casey. JMO because I can find nothing else ) So Tony beat feet as George says and went over and got rescued her. George then apologizes to LE for giving them the wrong date on last date they saw Caylee and LE tells him they genuinely believe it was a mistake due to they did not realize exact weekend fathers day was. George alludes to the fact at first they thought Casey had messed with dates on F Day photos. He tells LE that Casey is good with computers. George then offers out of nowhere and i quote," I am having a hard time grasping what my wife is doing to you guys."Then he mentions he does not like Jose Baez and Yuri asks George have you talked to Mr Kelly (a lawyer of Cindy and Georges) about whether Baez is doing the best thing in Caseys interest and George says Mr Kelly is a work comp lawyer and does not handle criminal cases. And he goes on to talk a bit about Mr Kellys background. But George says I ask Baez, hey what is going on and Baez just answers I am taking care of your daughter. And I say well yeah but what are you doing? And he says I am hiring this guy and going to do this or that (george's words ) and Geroge says who is going to pay for this? George tells him he can help a little but he and Cindys financial situation sucks. George then tells LE he will pass on any credible info he gets. Then they begin to talk about the car and the smell and what George thought. (Note all of this has been on Nancy Grace and can be found on this site on a thread of transcripts for Nancy Grace and I will not repeat it ) George clarifies where the stain was centered toward the bag he says and also he saw the pizza and Arm and Hammer detergent lint things.. So then Yuri ask him as a father and because you know Casey for 22 years and know all about her habits, what do you think could of happened. And George talks about how religious he and Cindy were about that ladder and how strange it was. He goes on and on, I mean for about 8 pages trying to figure the date that the ladder was out of place and goes over his work schedule and places he and Cindy were to try and pinpoint the date. At first he thinks it was the 24th , then the 27 or 28th and really never settles on anything other than after the 24th, ,he is not sure how soon after it is out of place that he and Cindy have this discussion. He does talk now about the message that he left Lee on the night that they finally found Casey . And Cindy called him at work and was very brief and said we will talk when you get home, But the message George leaves Lee he says according to him, Casey is in a lot of trouble and he said he said that because he was thinking about the smell in the car and the fact they could not find Caylee. So he tells Lee Beat the feet (one of his favorite sayings apparently ) and get to your Mom's. So Lee eventually calls George back and says Dad just get home. When George gets home, he does not get the chance to talk much to Cindy or Lee because the cops get there at the same time. End of Part two

George tells LE Casey lives on the edge with her lies. He says he and Cindy think or have thought for a while that some of the resentment Casey has is because the doctors gave Caylee to Cindy when she was first born and did not put her in Caseys arms first. Cindy insists it was because Casey was being stitched up and when the doctors went to put her elsewhere, she said something to the effect that won't do. Casey is always saying Caylee likes Cindy more as a Mom than she likes Casey as a Mom. Cindy and Casey got into it lots of times because Casey lies about where she is supposed to be and also because Casey is lying about whether she is working. George tells a story about how when she was supposedly working for the sports authority there was an incident where Casey said she was held up at gunpoint and makes it sound likek 4,000 dollars was taken. George talked to the manager and another employee a friend of Caseys and they said she did not work there. Also George ask Casey for the card of the cop who interviewed her when she was held up at gunpoint and she says Dad I will be alright , just give me a moment. So George says well no if he has your information I want to take care of it and follow up on it. So Cindy says something to the effect we will work through this and George says No something does not add up. He tells detectives he was always trying to give Casey to give money to get her oil changed and get the car kept up and she would keep the money and say Dad I just did not get a chance to get over there,. So the detective says well you know there is no Sawgrass and No Universal and he points out nothing checks out and he says why is she taking it this far, why would she not finally just say okay enough is enough.. What would be the obstacle? George does not say and then he gets back to the pool and trying to find out the date that was. George says he and Cindy always discussed the ladder and the pool and George told Cindy there has to be more to this. George offers Casey might talk to Lee or she might talk to a minister who is a family friend Fred Robinson. End of Part three

So Yuri tells George how this could play out , how in the end Casey could be charged and convicted and Casey may never talk and then the grandparents will never know what happened and he ask George if he has heard of the Melinda Duckett case and George says yes he and Cindy talked about that. Yuri tells George you know where this case is , there is a hefty reward and so much publicity that surely someone would have come forward by now or just released her . And George says Yes I have told Cindy that. And he tried to tell her and Lee that and he and Cindy got into a big argument when George said that and Cindy keeps saying You are just pro police and George tells her No I am just trying to look at it from all angles and perspectives. Yuri says you know what George Casey had over 1200 photos online in her photo bucket and you know how many photos there are of Zenaida? Zero. And we have talked to all her friends and you know how many have see Zenaida in all this time. Zero. And he says we checked out that lead on a Zenaida in New YOrk and the FBI said it is not her and George it is not the money or time or resources, it is that we are focusing on the wrong things and then George says and I quote,"Yeah and she (Caylee ) is getting further and further away, that is if she is still with us. I understand.," And LE tells George that he and Cindy will not be able to drive the focus of the media. The media will focus on what they find or what LE releases. Then they get back to talkinig about Baez. And George says he ask Baez why he and Cindy needed to testify at the bond hearing . And Baez said because you and Cindy need to show some remorse. And George said, Well we do feel remorse for our granddaughter. And Baez says no for your daughter. George was opposed to testifying at the bond hearing. George says he feels Baez is in it for the publicity and so he can write a book. Baez told George that Casey hired him through a recommendation from someone in jail. (LE says they can't do that so it must have been an inmate) and George asks again how is she going to pay you and Baez says she said she has 5,000 dollars and apparently Casey gave him 1400.oo and he has not seen anymore of it, so George figures he is not doing it for the money. LE tells George they are releasing some of Caseys jail phone calls and they are not flattering to her and LE says if George and Cindy want to hear them beforehand they can and George offers that maybe he and Lee will because Lee is levelheaded more levelheaded than Cindy. So George says he suggested to Cindy that they get a spokesperson. George asks if the info on the car has come back and the police say no and tell him it takes a while which he seems to understand. And so then LE calls Lee and they get a hold of Lee at his home and ask him to come down and listen to the jail tapes. George tells LE how mad Cindy was at Le for talking to her Dad because he was fragile and George told Cindy they need to do their job, LE has to do what they have to do. And they had an argument and George told Cindy you are going to screw this sh t up. So George tells Cindy whatever they find or know they have to tell Le and that the police can come after them for withholding information and Cindy says No George I am going to do my own investigation. And George says if you screw this up we may have to get our own lawyer. George then makes the comment to LE that he sees where all this is going and he is going to ask his brother in law for money to help because his sisters husband is a multimillionaire. . George talks for several pages about all the relatives they have contacted and how hard it is on the parents of he and Cindy.Yuri tells George that Baez is lying about LE not contacting him because one of the detectives called Baez and Baez ignored him and then went on NG and said LE had not contacted him. Geroge suggested that Baez and Casey sit down with Le and Baez told George that LE would not even talk to him. George told Baez . We can't keep spinning this stuff and Baez said we have to and Cindy jumped in and said Baez was doing what was in the best interest of Casey and George and I quote said, Were is Caylee in all this? At this point Cindy calls and says she wants George home for a press conference and the police end the interview and wait for Lee to arrive to hear jail tapes. It is at this point that George gets sick.

Note I did not take the time to do line by line or insert quote marks because it is a summary and it is my best effort and I wanted to do it as accurately and as fast as possible. Someone else may have summarized it different. The interview is I think notable for how Cindy feels and how uncooperative Cindy has been from the start. Nothing could be more telling than how Cindy handles this story of how Casey was held up at gunpoint at work , when of course she did not even work there and how George handles it, George does not seem as likely to accept her lies no matter what. Also the fact that Cindy tries to direct the investigation by threatening LE on how to look and what direction to look in is particulary telling.Saying she will make trouble for them when they are looking for her granddaugter is appalling. I am convinced she is not interested in the truth period. She even seems to try to control the direction the media is going. Also I am appalled at Baez telling Cindy and George they have to show remorse at the bond hearing, for what I am not sure but I assume he means for turning her in. I have a totally low opinion of Baez from what George says, it was not good to begin with but now I think he is just smarmy and incompetent.

Awesome summary Mu8shark!!! There is only 1 thing I thought I might add. The first was that when LE offered to let them listen to the 911 tapes and he suggests they call Lee and get him down there as well; he makes a point of reminding them to ask Lee if both he AND George could come down, they suggest that they tell Lee that they just got off the phone with George and he should be there in about 20-30 mins. It is very obvious that George doesn't want Lee or Cindy to know that he has approached LE for this interveiw; in fact at one point he mentions that he had wanted to be the one who dealt directly with LE but he was "outvoted" and Lee was nominated instead.
I wonder if this interview was not released until now so that George would remain in the best possible positiion to get info from his daughter who would have probably been angry with him if she had seen this interview, not to mention Cindy. I feel sorry for George he is probably copping it now.

Oh! I forgot to mention that George seems to work an awful lot, taking on more than one job at a time. When I was reading that bit I thought Gee! he must be exhausted. He also said that while he hadn't really been there for Casey as a child due to work he had completely devoted himself to Caylee and then seeme to insinuate he couldn't forgive Casey if she hurt Caylee and therefor he would lose both girls. I thought the detectives were really sensitive with him at this juncture, pointing out to him that Casey might not have purposely hurt her child but it could have been more accidental, so it might not be as bad as he was letting himself imagine.

Thanks so much mu8! ITA about Cindy. And Baez. Just dying to know how and when Casey and Jose hooked up.

Do you have a link to this interview? And didn't you mention earlier that what George told LE and what he told GVS differed? I found an interview that Greta did with G&C on 8/5 or 8/6, but it stops short of George describing the spat that he and Casey had.

I found an interview that Greta did with G&C on 8/5 or 8/6, but it stops short of George describing the spat that he and Casey had. That is just it, on GVSs he does not mention a spat at all. I will find both the GVS and the one he gave LE. Both have a completely different tone and even the content is quite different. He tends to tell the truth out of Cindy's earshot. As for the link let me go find that .

Okay to me these are two different stories the one he tells in front of Cindy and the one he tells LE. VAN SUSTEREN: Now, you made the report on June 24, though. That's
when you noticed it. Do you remember when you last were in there, so
you have some sort of window of when that could have happened?

GEORGE ANTHONY: It could have been Sunday. I believe I was in there
Sunday. I don't believe I was in there the day before that, like, on
the 23rd. I'm almost positive it's a Sunday.

VAN SUSTEREN: So the Sunday the 23rd, you might have been in there?

CINDY ANTHONY: Well, Sunday would have been the 22nd.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. So as best you can tell, it happened between
the 22nd and the 24th. someone broke in there.

GEORGE ANTHONY: Uh-huh.

That's when I saw my daughter. I was getting ready to go to work, and
the garage door goes open and my daughter comes in. This is about
2:25, 2:30 in the afternoon on the 24th. As she comes in the house,
and I said, Hey, how're you doing? And she says, Fine, Dad. I says,
Well, what's going on? And she says, Oh, I'm just stopping home for
about 10 minutes, get some clothes. I go to go back to work. Where's
Caylee? She's with Zanny. And I said, OK, when are you guys coming
home? She says, Oh, we'll be back home maybe late tonight or the next
day.

I said, OK. Have you been talking to Mom? Oh, yes, I talk to Mom
every day. I said, I know, but did you talk to Mom today? She sort of
hesitated for a moment and she says, Yes. And she says, Oh, by the
way, it's a shame what happened in the shed. And I said…

CINDY ANTHONY: Yes, because (INAUDIBLE)

GEORGE ANTHONY: And I said, Really? She says, yes. I said,
Interesting. And I just said, Hey, by the way, I said, I'm getting
ready to rotate your mom's tires on her car. There's a little metal
wedge that fits underneath your tires so your car doesn't rock back
and forth. And I said, Well, I'd like to have it, so in case you're
not here over the weekend, I'd like to be able to do it.

She was hesitant about letting me get in the car. And I said, Well,
listen, I got an extra key. I'll just go get it. Well, she was
adamant about — about that.

VAN SUSTEREN: What, not letting you into the car?

GEORGE ANTHONY: Yes, didn't want me to get into the car to get the
stuff out. Dad, I'll get it for you. Dad, I'll get it out. I said,
It's no problem. I know where it's at. I'll get it, get it out and be
done with it.

So as we're walking out through the garage, she's still telling me,
Dad, I'll get it. Give me a minute, I'll get it. I said, Casey, I'm
capable of reaching inside your car, and I got it. So — and she
opened up the trunk of the car…

CINDY ANTHONY: The gas cans were there.
STORY TWO
. GEORGE
ANTHONY: I made a report to the Orange County Sheriff`s Department.
Now you`ve got the cans. Why do you have them? Well, I`ve been
driving them back and forth to Tampa to see Zanny. And I`m, like,
Wait a second. You`re supposed to be working, but now you`re in
Tampa. This don`t make no sense to me.

And I said, Listen, I`m not going to deal with this right now, but
where`s Caylee? What`s going on? You know, I believe I need to know.
I`ll talk to you and Mom later. Sure enough, she gets in her car and
takes off. I had the gas cans because she handed them to me. I did
not look in the trunk because the distance from where I was at -- she
(INAUDIBLE) just handed them to me and slammed the trunk right away. Mu8sharks comments. See in the first one it seems like George saw the gas cans in the trunk and he retrieved them like she put up a fight but he did get them himself and there is not a mention of a confrontation. And note Cindy finishes the first story for him. To me the second story indicates he did not get them himself and there was a much bigger confrontation. Almost like in the first story the parents, probably Cindy wanted George to indicate he saw into the trunk and there he saw nothing wrong. In the second one he makes it clear he pretty much saw nothing. I may just be overly suspicious but after seeing such a big difference between how he behaves with the wicked witch and when he gets a moment to be without her breathing down his neck, they just seem to me to be different stories.

Now that you point it out ITA with what you're saying about George mu8.
Listening to his interview with LE he appeared to be humble and honest with his feelings but when he's around Cindy - its a completely different story.

I know many people live their everyday lives in abusive situations -been there done that with an ex-boyfriend - and I vowed to myself I'd never go down that road again and I haven't - anyhow, just interesting. Someone posted above that George is PW. ITA with that assumption.
Also sad at the same time he won't stand up to Cindy and tell her the same thing he told LE in his interview regarding his thoughts about Casey harming Caylee.

I think he did but he said that it only caused a huge fight and Cindy wrote off his opinion by saying that he was just pro-police even though he was telling her that he was just interested in looking at the situation from more than one angle.

Thanks me8shark. I thought this part of that Greta episode was interesting:

MARK FUHRMAN, FMR LAPD HOMICIDE DETECTIVE: Well, when you look at this, you can hypothetically say that she’s a victim, along with her daughter. But the problem here is you have biological evidence in her car. She steals gas. She borrows a shovel. All these things kind of roll into a place that she’s involved, not some independent or some remote or some anonymous person.

VAN SUSTEREN: All right. We don’t have the biological information back. Certainly, it’s suspicious enough to warrant to send it for testing. Maybe there’s an innocent explanation. We’re still — you know, that’s still being looked at.

In terms of the gas cans in the trunk, what the parents — grandparents told us is that she had a problem with her gas tank, with some sort of gauge or sensor in it, and that she was bringing the gas along in the trunk. The sort of curious thing, and I think we’ll probably see that in a moment in the next segment, is that — in terms of the gasoline is that she broke open the home (ph) shed, busted the lock to get them.

FUHRMAN: Well, lookit, does anything make any sense? I’m just — I’m shocked at the lack of relevant information from this entire family....

http://cayleeanthony.wordpress.com/2008/08/06/george-and-cindy-anthony-speak-with-greta-transcript/

What I don't get is, why if Casey has problems with her gas gauge, they don't have it repaired, or if the solution is to drive around with gas cans, why doesn't Casey have a key. To me it's every bit as unsafe for Caylee to be in a car with gas cans in the trunk, as it is for the sheds to be unlocked.
