last seen approx 2:10pm Sunday 7 December under the Keil Mountain Rd Overpass on Nambour Connection Road Woombye approx 2 KM North of the Big Pineapple on the Sun Shine Coast Queensland.

Investigating Police have focused a great deal of attention on reports by passing motorists that a man was seen standing nearby , leaning on the wall of the underpass. Witnesses described the man as aged between 25-35 , about 175cm tall , lean to muscular build , gaunt face , weathered complexion , dark brown wavy hair , and a goatie beard.

Other witnesses said they saw two men in the area , common to most witness accounts is sighting of a blue boxy shaped sedan which looked 20 years old. Police believe this may have been the vehicle used to abduct Daniel.

Asked what he believed what happened to Daniel Morcombe , Sunshine regional co-ordinator John Maloney says , ''I think a very reasonable and logical conclusion that Daniel has been abducted at that place where he was standing waiting for a bus by one or more person's in an old style , Japanese-type blue vehicle. What happened after that is just pure speculation. There's nothing in any of our investigations what so ever to lead any conclusion after that point.

Police fear as do Daniels parents that the boy was abducted by pedophiles. In the absence of any demand for ransom , pedophilia would appear to be the most likely motive for such an abduction.

A burnt out car has been found partially submerged in a creek not far from where teenager Daniel Morcombe disappeared on the Sunshine Coast , police said the car , a blue Nissan sedan was similar in description to the 1980s model dark blue sedan seen near 13 year old Daniel shortly before he vanished. A police spokesman said the car had been uncoverd just days after a massive police doorknock of 900 homes and businesses in the Woombye area. A tipoff was believed to have led police tpo the discovery in bushland behind a hotel.

Queensland police said today the discovery was just another in a long line of cars investigated by police. It is not known whether it has any connections to the case but it will be forensically examined as many others have been during the 18 month investigation. Sunshine police are looking to identify a boy seen in the Woombye area just hours before Daniel Morcombe disappeared in December 2003. Police investigating the disappearance and suspected murder of Daniel Morcombe are lookingfor another boy seen walking near the roundabout at the intersection of Woombye-Palmwoods Road and Kiel Mountain Overpass.

Investigators have recieved information that about midday on Sunday , December 7 , a boy aged between 10 and 15 was seen walking on the Woombye-Palmwoods Road between Kiel Mountain overpass and the Woombye School.

Investigators need to identify the boy and speak with him to determine whether he can assist the investigation. Police also wish to talk to anyone who saw the boy or any other person at that intersection , about midday on December 7 , 2003.

''Without being aware of it this boy may have seen something that could help in the Daniel investigation,'' an Operation Vista investigator said. Police have previously unsuccessfully appealed for this boy to come forward.

An unnamed woman telephoned Daniel's parents Bruce and Denise Morcombe late last year she said she wanted to clear her conscience. The woman claimed to have been in the car with those responsible for Daniel's abduction , knew how long he lived after it , and what he was forced to endure , the woman told the Morcombe's where they could find their son.

Mr and Mrs Morcombe went to the site of his alleged burial and found a piece of red cloth , the colour of the T-Shirt he had been wearing on the day he went missing.

There are no further news items on the unnamed telephone woman or any further finds.

On Channel 7 Sunday 31 May 6.30pm a programme will feature an item on Daniel Morcombe's disappearance , according to the ad on 2GB new evidence has been found unsure if programe is avaliable in other states other than NSW.

A national television show has named a convicted pedophile as a person of interest in the abduction and presumed murder of Sunshine Coast teenager Daniel Morcombe , just hours before a $1 million reward for information expires.

The seven networks sunday night program POI was on the Sunshine Coast when Daniel went missing.

Daniel disappeared on Sunday , December ,7 , 2003 , while waiting to catch a bus on nthe Nambour Connection near the Kiel Mountain Road overpass.

POI was jailed in 1995 for abducting and sexually assaulting a Queensland boy.

He was released on November 7 , 2003 - a month before Danile went missing - and was without supervision because of a legal blunder",the program said.

POI was bailed two weeks later after he was involved in a high speed police chase in his light blue Holden Commodore , which was impounded.

On december , 5 , two day's before danile's abduction , POI allegedly stole a car from Goodna , west of Brisbane , and dumped it seven kilometres from where Daniel was last seen.

The program said the man then aquired another vehicle similar to his Commodore and that NSW registration plates.

The car , the program said , was similar in shape to a car witnesses placed at the scene of Daniel's abduction.

Around the same time , a man was seen watching children at a nearby Primary school from a similar car.

An unidentified woman , named on the program as Jenny , was shown a photograph of POI when he was a teenager.

That same... thaqt same...," she said , indicating facial features , "and those bloody eyes!"

She said POI was "quite possibly" the same man she had seen near the school , but she was unclear of the date she saw him.

POI was arrested by police six weeks later and jailed over the rape of a nine-year-old girl in the 1990s. he is due for release early next year.

The policeman in charge of the investigation , Chief Superintendent Mike Condon , would not comment on suggestions POI was a person of intrest.

But Daniel's father Bruce Morcombe , said the program's allegations were "a reasonable scenario."

"he was on the Sunshine Coast over the length of the weekend and this clearly includes the Sunday (Daniel went missing) and our understanding is nthere is a possibility that he had opportunity in the middle of the afternoon that perhaps places him at the scene , or close by , he said.

Daniel's mother Denise Morcombe , said the family needed answers.

"I hope to god that it's POI that did it , hearing about different things that he has done in the past , " she said.

"If it is POI , and anyone's got some information that can prosecute this man , please come forward. If it's not him please come forward with any new information."

Ms Morcombe said that while the private $750,000 reward expires at midnight , the $250,000 police reward would still be avaliable for information leading to a conviction.
