You didn't do anything, sweetie......I don't believe FW had the funding to keep it afloat....I do wish she had warned us of it in advance.....I'm certain the posters could have worked something out to help the situation, but given we had no prior knowledge..:shrug: Hoping we can find all of the posters and get them back together somehow.....how are things with you, I hope well....we were lighting a candle for you on Sycamore, which Kelly so kindly created for us!

It's really not that expensive to run a website but maybe they exceeded their bandwidth. :shrug:

uhoh! i guessed something was going wrong when their adverts were all cancelled, its sad to read this and am sorry that it went downhill due to lack of funds, i am suprised that it crashed as it really sounded and seemed an excellent idea all along.

Hi everyone! Hi Kelly! Good to see you guys here. I started the Ramsey thread here last Spring (not knowing at the time if it would be deleted or not), but it's still an ongoing thread. I'm glad! Seashell, when I got that "suspended" message at Sycamore, I TOO wondered, what the heck have I done wrong? You have never been mean. You find a politically acceptable way to respond to a baiter and I am trying so hard to learn from that. I was elledaisy at 320. jmo :) In case you wonder why I am stuck on Daisy; she was my beautiful little black schnauzer in our family for 14 years.

I'm putting out some fall decorations today and I'm fixing a turkey breast and necks for dinner. In GS we don't get too much "cool" weather but today is overcast so I thought I'd pretend! i like everyone here and who were on the other side, i learnt a long time ago not to carry any board troubles and make it too personal so please forgive my initial criticism when i post this thread and i also havent been around as much as when i first joined on here nor on the other side.
I hope to catch up soon, my daughter's wedding was absolutelly fantastic and she looked so beautiful and all the past years pressures and worries and other family woes seemed to fade once i saw my girl looking so happy :)

How's the world treating you?

CindyWater! Actually, the world's treating us very well and when it comes right down to it, we have nothing but blessings, even at the worst of times.:patriot: Hubby had heart surgery in August but is doing very well. :rose:He's been out planting fall flowers this weekend. We're going on vacation for about three weeks to visit our cabin, and then our youngest son and his wife and our second-oldest daughter and her three children. We're driving and we'll just take our time. We've never been to the cabin in late fall, so I'm anxious to enjoy the cooler weather for a change. We'll spend a week at the cabin, a week visiting the kiddos, and then one last week at the cabin and we'll be home around the middle of November.

Hey, how's this world treating you? We voted by absentee the other day since we'll be out-of-town on Election Day. The last time I voted absentee was when we were active duty military YEARS and YEARS ago!:patriot:

When we're at the cabin it's difficult to post since we have dial-up, so you might not "see" me for a while when we're gone, but I'll stop by when we return. We'll be around for another week or so.

My younger daughter of 21 gave such a cute and emotional speech before the ceremony that everyone in the chapel had tears in their eyes but i refused to show my tears, i didnt want to shed any even in happiness, i am so proud of my girls that everything that day was worth all the sacrifices in my life, hugs :rose:

As an aside, remember that really bad storm that was out your way early last year and I was wondering about what was happening to our cabin? Well, when we went there this summer, two large red cedars had been uprooted and one landed on our roof and the other across the driveway. Thank goodness there was no damage :), with a window just below where it hit, our cabin would have been flooded and ruined for sure. :eek:

Had I known that CL WASN'T closing, and that 320Sycamore was going to be having this problem, I never would have accepted FW's invitation to be "crime news investigator" or whatever it WAS-or I would have posted the stories on BOTH sites-to make sure that the stories were preserved.

As far as CL goes, I honestly think that FW was RIGHT to set up a new site-since she AND OTHERS knew that CTV was being taken over and turned into TruTV.

I think that she really thought that the message boards here would be shut down.

I'm NOT defending her, it's just what I think she believed, and I don't blame her for having 320Sycamore set up ahead of time.

I just feel like MAYBE the site was mis-managed, but if it was me, I doubt that I could have done any better, having NO experience with this sort of thing.

Oh honey I know how you feel if we could have had a warning I would have made time to do a few things, I loved 320 and I loved CL, it was not like we left a sinking ship helpless, we were told it was over so we left for a bright new hope of getting information and visiting with our friends. If you post with people for over a week you begin to bond or totally dislike that peson. I will admit I was no warmly welcomed here when I found CL was still up. I have not decided if I will be an active poster or just a drop in, but either way I have enjoyed my years of posting and have made friends forever.

At the most, when I made a request to FW for a new board to be put up, it was completely ignored-right from the very start.

I made numerous board requests...animal crimes, sexual crimes against adults, several others I can't think of off-hand-but none of them ever materialized.

I just think that FW was overwhelmed and out of her element, but as I said earlier, i doubt that I could do any better with my limited knowledge of website construction.

But as was stated before-we could have had SOME kind of warning so we weren't caught unaware, and we could have salvaged some of the work we did.

I think that's what angers me most right now.

It is really sad that none of the stories at Sycamore could be salvaged. When I left there back in June(?) it really bothered me not to update the threads I had started. Kelly and Odette both kept up on them though, so I'd still go there and lurk. I wish now I'd have moved a least a few of them over here.

FW reminds me a lot of one of my old bosses. (who I also could not see eye to eye with) She had a lot of blow, but no go.

I'm guessing that there were boondoggles from the gitgo. They started with posters having been lured under false pretenses to abandon CL.

Sorry it did take me a long time, I guess I felt lost and I was so dumbfounded as to what happened to 320 sycamore. I guess I was hoping that 320 would be up and running again soon, but I suppose I'm wrong. I just wished that there was some type of warning or at least a "goodbye".

Hope you don't mind if I join in with my observations. I left for our cabin the end of June and returned at the beginning of August. While away, I was unable to load and read the site much less post on it since we have dial-up at the cabin - S-L-O-W!

Upon our return, I went to 320 and I noticed it had sort of been "taken over" by two or three posters, one in particular. This one in particular has to be my least favorite poster on the Ramsey case and is a poster I distrust completely. Anyway, to me, it all seemed to go downhill from that point on. Just my personal opinion, of course.

I also noticed how few posters WERE actually posting on ANY of the forums and that there were no more ads. Actually, I don't even recall WHEN those ads stopped appearing.

No one there seemed to know how to moderate a forum FAIRLY and SQUARELY! There was just TOO much PMing back and forth between posters and mods and FW for anyone to have a firm handle on making sure the rules and TOS were addressed and followed, NO EXCEPTIONS, as simple as that (it SHOULD have been)! It became a power trip for some posters, mods, and FW alike!
