Bradley Jason Key, 28, a physical education teacher at the Toltec Middle School in Eloy, Arizona has been arrested on three counts of sexual conduct with a local 17-year-old girl.
The Toltec Elementary School District sent home a letter to parents last Tuesday informing them as to the situation with their former staff member. After investigations, they've assured parents that Key's conduct was in no way connected with students within the Toltec district.
"There haven't been any indications whatsoever that any of our students were involved," Superintendent Sylvia Mejia told the Enterprise.
According to the letter, the district has placed Key on administrative leave.
Key was a popular teacher with the students, and had been in the district for four years, having transferred to the middle school form Toltec Elementary three years ago. He had even been selected as teacher of the month in August.
"I was at that assembly, and when the principal called out his name as being selected, the kids were just so excited," Mejia said.
