I have a complaint.

I came to the site as a guest and was able to view profiles and conversations. I then went to my group and could do the same. The group is supposed to be private. It disturbs me that anyone can read the conversations of members, especially a private group. Please, change this.

I'm not sure what you mean "the group is supposed to be private"? What group? and did it give you the option to remain private??

I know there's a disable feature in the edit options feature here for receiving public messages etc... You can disable that thru your control panel/edit options but I'm not sure thats what you're talking about? :shrug:

I've been here for awhile and don't have a clue about how someone can have a private group conversation? Maybe it's one of the newer features offered? :shrug:

Just my 2 cents - if you want to keep something private it might be best to do it via pm or email. Is there a problem? Knowing what I do know about this site, I highly doubt the admin here has access to private conversations via pm or email. Feel free to pm or email me via the link associated with my nic. :patriot:

The point is guests have access to most, if not all of the site. I'm aware of the option to disable messages on profile. My group is invite only, but I guess that just means you must get an invite to be in it and not private. As I've already said, many other forums have a limit on what guests can view. It doesn't seem to be the case with this one. Forums are for discussion, and having to take it into PM or e-mail kinda defeats the purpose of a forum. Just my two.

I decided to join this forum after i had read the discussions, after seeing how interesting some of the conversations were , i decided i wanted to be a part of that- had it all been 'locked and private' i would not have been able to do that. I don't really see what your complaint is - if you dont want someone to read what you have written, dont post it i guess

DB wasn't talking about the main forums. He was talking about what he thought were "private" groups.

Hi Jules, welcome to CL. There are some of us who like to have private groups to keep out some of the spammers. This is what was created and then violated. Please be nice to Drumbum, he is very much liked and respected!

I am taking the most gosh awful tasting cold med so that is even worse, LOL..Thank you for asking..Still considering offing myself, LOL...no sleep and just so tired..But it has to get better right, LOL

Yes we have that feature here - always have had it. Go to your user control panel and under Settings and Options on the left hand side of your page, click on, "Edit Ignore List". It will give you a box that says add a member to your list... sample below.

They look normal size to me SJ. Check your zoom level in the lower right hand corner of your computer - maybe you accidentally clicked on it and it increased the page size? :shrug:

nope-none of the settings were changed, but a while ago, there was a Dove soap ad that took up a third of my screen width...and a third of the page.

it's gone now...
