Why is that people will say anything to prove they are innocent?
Aileen Wuornos ex girlfriend supposedly was scared to leave her. but they why did she stay with her through all those times in cheap motels and trailers if she didn't love her. she could have left anytime she wanted to but supposedly she was too scared. and that Aileen said she would never hurt her but she didn't believe her. Why is it that she turned on her?

Aileen's girlfriend didn't want to deal with any of the blame. She said that she was too scared to leave her and everything, but really she just didnt want the blame of being an accomplice to murder. She loved the idea of Aileen, but when it came down to choosing her woman or her freedom, she only cared about herself. She is a coward and nothing more. She deserved to be punished for those crimes as well. Maybe not to the extent Aileen was punished, but still punished.
If she was really that scared, she could've gotten away while Aileen was out "working." I truly believe that Aileen wouldn't have hurten her. Aileen loved her. And the fact that her gf turned on her, she still didnt blame her. Aileen still loved her even after she turned on her and helped the cops capture her. She is a coward.
Aileen made many mistakes throughout her life, but one of her biggest mistakes was trusting that backstabbing *****.
