Unfortunately, that was only a small clip, she was on the stand about one hour. The gum never stopped and the hostility grew. The glaring eyes are what crack me up. Oh yeah, the Grinch Eyes!
Remember how on LIE TO ME that said that when a person lies, they usually touch their ear, hair or face. It was as if she had fleas she touched, scratched and moved so much. http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons/emoticon-animal-016.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/emoticons.php)

I am going to go back and see if the full bond hearing is recorded by someone. If I find one, I'll come back and post a link (if I can do it correctly ). I noticed the same gyrations and scratching which indicated to me from my limited knowledge also tied to LIE TO ME and that spoke volumes to me about her truthfulness! Public continues fascination of Casey Anthony
Casey Anthony saga fascinates public a year later
By MIKE SCHNEIDER, Associated Press Writer Mike Schneider, Associated Press Writer
ORLANDO, Fla. – The story of Casey Anthony and her little girl has become a soap opera of sorts over the last year, with plot twists and turns, and a colorful cast of supporting characters.
There are the grandparents, George and Cindy. The phantom baby sitter. The bounty hunter. The meter reader.
At the center of it all is the petite 23-year-old mother charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. It's been one year since the toddler was reported missing, and while her body was found six months ago, authorities still don't know exactly how she died.
That's one of the many unknowns that has kept the public's interest over the last year. Viewers tune in to the cable television news show hosted by Nancy Grace, who dubbed Casey the "Tot Mom," to find out about every development. People chat on parenting Web sites about her chances of a fair trial and debate over her innocence or guilt has filled talk radio.
"It certainly has the makings of a made-for-TV movie or a soap opera," said Bob Longo, news director of WESH, which like other Orlando television news stations has relentlessly covered the case. "I think people have opinions on the characters in the saga. They identify with them or against them."
The story started as a mystery, centered on finding out what happened to Caylee. But soon, Casey Anthony became the chief suspect and the image of a sympathetic mother morphed into that of a party-loving club-hopper. The stories she told detectives and her parents about where she worked and where she had dropped off Caylee with a baby sitter were lies, police said.
It turned out Caylee had been missing more than a month before Casey Anthony told her family. After her arrest, she told police she had been conducting her own investigation into her daughter's whereabouts.
George and Cindy Anthony, the grandparents, were used to seeing the little girl almost every day. But beginning about mid-June 2008, Casey and Caylee just weren't around.
When the grandparents inquired, Casey said she was traveling with Caylee around central Florida. Cindy began to worry, though, and called her daughter frequently, demanding to know Caylee's whereabouts. There were always excuses: Caylee was with the baby sitter or at the beach with friends.
In mid-July, George and Cindy picked up their daughter's car from a towing lot and noticed a stench from the trunk. Cindy Anthony confronted her daughter, who initially said Caylee was with the phantom baby sitter. Then, Casey finally admitted the little girl had been missing for a month.
"There's something wrong," Cindy Anthony said in a 911 call. "I found my daughter's car today and it smelled like there's been a dead body in the damn car."
Casey Anthony was arrested the next day on charges of child neglect and providing false information to authorities. She continued to tell law enforcement that Caylee had been left with a baby sitter, whom she identified as Zenaida Gonzalez.
That's when the story switched from a private drama of domestic tensions between parents and a daughter to a very public tale. Reporters camped outside the Anthony home for weeks and protesters with "Baby Killer" signs picketed their street.
Casey Anthony maintained her innocence throughout.
"I'm not in control of this because I don't know what the hell is going on," she tearfully told her parents during a jailhouse visit last summer. "My entire life has been taken from me. Everything has been taken from me."
Leonard Padilla, a cowboy-hat-wearing, California-based bounty hunter became part of the narrative by posting her bond last year. He thought having her out of jail would aid in finding Caylee, but he turned on her when she proved uncooperative. He made frequent appearances on television talk shows in the following months, offering unflattering commentary.
Meanwhile, hundreds of volunteers scoured woods in south Orlando in search of clues to Caylee's disappearance.
In mid-October, a grand jury indicted Anthony on first-degree murder charges, even though Caylee's body hadn't been found. She has been in jail ever since.
Prosecutors didn't have a body until meter reader Roy Kronk became involved. In August, Kronk thought he had seen a bag in the woods near a road where he had stopped to take a break. He called authorities three times over the next three days, but when they finally came, they found nothing.
It wasn't until December, when Kronk returned to the woods, that he discovered a bag with Caylee's remains inside. Detectives said residue of a heart-shaped sticker was found on duct tape over the mouth of her skull.
Along the way, there have been other bizarre subplots. A despondent George Anthony attempted suicide in a Daytona Beach motel room in January and then was committed to a hospital for several days.
A spokesman for the Anthony family was dismissed after the family accused him of taking payments for booking their television appearances. Another spokesman who never showed his face to reporters turned out to be a fictitious creation of the public relations firm used by Casey Anthony's attorney.
As much as Casey Anthony's story has transfixed viewers, Lezlie Laws, a professor of nonfiction writing at Rollins College in suburban Orlando, worries that the discourse about the case hasn't been constructive.
"What is it about us as a society that would cultivate a human being that would be capable of doing that? What are we doing wrong? Where do we need to put our time, attention, money and social services?" she said.
"I don't see that being raised," Laws said. "Instead, it's just a sensational, spilled guts on the concrete, kind of 'Look at this, isn't this gross?' story."

The trouble w/Padilla, IMO, is that all of his info comes from another party, whether it be Cindy, George, his FBI buddy, Tracey, etc etc etc. The people from whom he got his "inside info" would be the ones who would testify to what they told him, IMO. He got nothing, nada, zilch from Casey Anthony. Which, IMO, would be the only thing he would be able to testify to. Otherwise, all his "stuff" is hearsay from other parties. Just IMO, of course.
I honestly can't imagine that LP has much firsthand knowledge to contribute, but maybe he does. (Or there's no telling what Casey has told Baez that she told Lenny. Does that make sense?) As much as Padilla loves the sound of his own voice, he's probably got things that he hasn't blabbed yet, and it's possible that Baez knows what those things are, and that would account for him reaching for something, ANYthing to keep his testimony out of open court. I think Leonard's purpose in bailing Casey out was every bit as much for the purpose of attaching himself to a sensational case as it was to "find Caylee".
they seem pretty strong and definite about the whole thing. If it was hearsay couldn't Baez just object in court?
But, why bother to call him as witness @ all? Just for Baez to object if all his info is second-hand, which it sure seems to me? Just call on the people who gave Padilla the information. It would save ever so much time and money to call the person who has the information first hand. But, it would make for more drama in the courtroom, I guess. IMO
Hi Amy :seeya:,
I read the linked documents also and I got out of the payment that it was for the full amount owed. It was an exact amount; $664.25. But, I didn't see anything that pointed to the payment voiding any prosecution either.
There was mention about prosecution, but it was either very poorly worded, or in just intense legal jargon that I couldn't read it straight, but it sure read to me that, sure, you paid this, but we can still prosecute.

I'm not an attorney nor do I play one on TV. ;) But, I've watched a lot of tv and from what I've seen, an attorney cannot use a line of defense if he knows it is a lie. As an officer of the court, they are sworn to be honest. At least I think so anyway.

I know very little about the law and I agree with you. It seems to me that what Baez is trying to pull is a form of "witness tampering" which the last time I heard that was illegal.

I could tell her but she would not listen. It might take a while but I could give her an ear full about raising children to think that everything they do is right and the world, if it disagrees, is just out to get them. Taking responsibility for your own life and the lives of your children are lessons casey never learned because we have been told it isn't good to tell children when they are wrong or hold them responsible.

Snipped for space...This IS modern society's way of RAISING their children. Just try to go to the school and support them for disciplinary action they may be trying to give your child. When you support them and enforce it at home, they look at you as if you've grown an eye in the center of your forehead! Why should that be the exception rather than the norm? By cracky, if you did the deed, you pay the consequences. That's the reason there are rules, regulations and laws to structure society. I believe, IMO, that if this had been applied to 'petite' Ms. Casey, then things may have turned out differently than they are today. Just my thoughts and opinions on child-rearing today.

I'm not saying that people (very few anyway) learn parenting skills in Psych 101, but to earn a degree in order to become a prof you do gain insight into what shapes the psyche. This woman obviously should stick to waxing philosophical about fiction, not reality in other peoples' homes.
Parents can pretty much find a child psychologist to bolster whatever path to parenting they choose to take. Just because people have a bunch of letters at the end of their names, doesn't mean that they won't enable others.
I know very little about the law and I agree with you. It seems to me that what Baez is trying to pull is a form of "witness tampering" which the last time I heard that was illegal.
Now, didn't any of you all watch good ol' Perry Mason, defense attorney extraordinaire? How many times did he, near the end of the show, ask a witness "What if I told you blah blah blah?" And the witness quakes in his/her boots and confesses to the crime, or in some manner exhonerates the defendant. And Della Street coos to Perry "was that information on that paper? How did you get that?" And Perry shows the blank paper and says "I said 'what if'?"

Possibly the one thing that Padilla has to offer are her lies and changing stories. Maybe the S.A. wants to show how many times she changed her story and how uncaring she was to find her daughter. After all, the first thing she did when she got home was make a spaghetti dinner for Padilla's nephew instead of giving them details on the invisible nanny.

ITA!!! my son will be 4 years old in September and he has been learning those harsh lessons since he hit the "terrible twos". if he is acting out he gets one warning to knock off the bad behavior, the next time he does it he gets sent to his room, if there is a third time he gets a "spanking" which in our house means he gets his little tush smacked with an open hand and gets put to bed until he is ready to behave. it doesn't usually get that far, usually just telling him to go to his room and making sure he is not back there playing with his toys is enough. and now he hardly ever acts out. we still have our bad days, but everyone has a bad day, he is by no means made to believe that he can do no wrong. in fact, now that i think about it, the only time he really acts out anymore is when he comes home from my mother's house where he is basically "the boss". what we tell him in those situations is "if you keep this up you don't get to go to grandma's house ever again!" and that is enough to put the kibash on bad behavior.
there is NO REASON to allow a child to think they run the world, they go through their phases where they are under the impression that they do, but a phase is just what it is. and you have to SHOW them what is right and wrong, or it is a phase they will never grow out of, as we have seen in this case
ETA: with the arrival of his baby brother looming on the horizon our son has matured quite a bit recently. i attribute this to the fact that we have been telling him throughout my pregnancy that as a "big brother" he is going to have more responsibility, he now cleans up his own toys before he gets to watch a movie, or tv etc. he doesn't get a snack if he doesn't eat his meals, AND we even got him his own pets to take care of in the house. i bought him two parakeets and it is HIS responsibility to feed them and clean their cage, i still give them their water but only until he is big enough to reach the kitchen sink. he has not missed one feeding since we bought them, and i attribute that to his growing maturity. i am all for encouragement and nurturing parenting, but that doesn't mean letting your child believe that they are the center of the world and everything they say do and think is absolutely right. Wow Jlette. You must be awful proud of your son. That is remarkable for a three year old........If I had kids that is probably what I would aim for. I was that way with my niece which was hard since her mother gave her anything she wanted. I think it helped a little. That is great to hear you are doing that. We need more parents like you.........sara
I wonder how Caylee would have turned up as an adult. It is such a tragedy we will never know.

He can say he heard "things" that Casey told them but neither side can ask him specific about the "things" if the person(s) who told him are still alive to testify. So, unless Casey really did talk to him @ all, there is nothing for him to testify about. IMO, it wouldn't even make sense to call him to the stand to say, "George or Cindy or Tracey told me"--but, again, why not just have that person get up and testify to the information and leave LP out of it? If that person wants to say s/he didn't say anything to LP, THEN they could call him up to testify that that person did talk to him. Wow Jlette. You must be awful proud of your son. That is remarkable for a three year old........If I had kids that is probably what I would aim for. I was that way with my niece which was hard since her mother gave her anything she wanted. I think it helped a little. That is great to hear you are doing that. We need more parents like you.........sara

He can say he heard "things" that Casey told them but neither side can ask him specific about the "things" if the person(s) who told him are still alive to testify. So, unless Casey really did talk to him @ all, there is nothing for him to testify about. IMO, it wouldn't even make sense to call him to the stand to say, "George or Cindy or Tracey told me"--but, again, why not just have that person get up and testify to the information and leave LP out of it? well as we all know George and Cyndi have just as big a problem with the truth as their daughter does. maybe LP could testify to the facts of what was actually going on at the time he was around, and possibly to show that lying is a family affair with these people
But surely they took a sociology or psychology class somewhere along the lines. That is where we have the biggest problem. They don't teach those things in psychology classes in college anymore and have not for a long time. You can not talk in a negative way to a child it will hurt their ego.
They need to learn at an early age that they are NOT ALWAYS RIGHT and be taught to take responsibility for their actions.
Child pshchologist say it isn't right and we are and have been for a while raising a generation that refuses to admit they are wrong and take responsibility for their actions. I wonder if it will ever turn around or will be go back to the survival of the fittest. The strongest is the one who is right.
I remember when one of the kids would spill the milk or have some sort of accident that would have to be cleaned up. Now, I never beat my kids, in fact, most folks tell me I should have spanked them a tad bit more than I did. But, they would wail like I was going to throw them against the wall or out w/the garbage. I would reassure them it was just an accident, and now we will clean it up, and they did help. As they got older, tho, they suddenly decided that, if it was an accident, then they shouldn't have to clean it up. Now, where the heck did THAT come from?

Now that is where people sometimes have a problem. It isn't about "beating" them. In fact I rarely ever had to spank my son and believe me there is a very large difference between a spanking and a beating. Beatings should NEVER happen and spankings should be sparse. You are so right! We do think very differently and that communication - which to me means talking about your differences and coming to a compromise on BOTH sides to a happy middle ground - is one of the majorly lacking things in marriages today. They should teach communication of all types. Why they do not is beyound me but, I do see the need for sex ed too. Too many parents are either too ashamed or too lazy to do it so someone has to tell them about it. We sure don't need as much experimentation as we have now.

I think it is a combination of the two. We all have certain personality traits that we are born with, but if they are not nurtured, we never display them. And siblings don't necessarily inherit all the same personality traits because they get different combination of genes from their parents. jmo.

The A's are too quiet. Something tells me the new addition to the defense team is making headway with the showoff's. Or, Cindy is on some good meds. Or perhaps duct tape. ???
I doubt there is any possibility for damage control. The deeds are done and can't be retrofitted to make that family look good. IMO. The fiddler will be paid aye? There is still a dead child no matter what any of them do, and that is horrific. It saddens us all to know the nanny is no where to be found or that there is no other killer hiding in the trees. The saddest part of the whole saga is that dynamic within the family. Mother hates daughter, daughter hates mother, baby pays.
The most sickening thing in all of this is, the Grinch herself has "no regrets." And, if she comes out of hiding with a new persona, it will be worthless. She'd be better off dancing the mea culpa, but that will never happen, even with some good coaching. I do hope she at least loses the damn gum.

Seeking info in Casey Anthony case, State Attorney to haul George and Cindy Anthony back to court
George and Cindy Anthony are going back to court.
The State Attorney's office will ask Orange Circuit Judge Stan Strickland to force the Anthonys to produce information for the state's case against their daughter, Casey Anthony, according to spokespersons for the State Attorney's office and the court.
A hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The Anthonys have been asked to produce information for the state but have not done so, the spokespersons said.
The State Attorney's Office would not say today what information it was seeking from the couple.
Casey Anthony is being held in the Orange County Jail under an indictment for first-degree murder in the death of daughter Caylee Marie Anthony. The state is seeking the death penalty in the case.
Casey Anthony will not attend Friday's hearing.
Check back for updates.

Seeking info in Casey Anthony case, State Attorney to haul George and Cindy Anthony back to court
George and Cindy Anthony are going back to court.

The Anthonys have been asked to produce information for the state but have not done so, the spokespersons said.
The State Attorney's Office would not say today what information it was seeking from the couple.

George and Cindy Anthony may be back in court.
The State Attorney's office is slated to ask Orange Circuit Judge Stan Strickland to force the Anthonys to produce information for the state's case against their daughter, Casey Anthony, according to spokespersons for the State Attorney's office and the court.
A hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Friday.
The Anthonys have been asked to produce information for the state but have not done so, the spokespersons said.
Brad Conway, lawyer for George and Cindy Anthony, said the couple simply hasn't been able to provide the documents in the time frame prosecutors wanted.
"The Anthonys have no problem providing the documentation the state has requested," Conway said.
Conway said the Anthonys are going to give the documents to prosecutors and he does not expect there to even be a hearing on the matter tomorrow.
"We're in the process of turning them over," he said.
It's unclear what the documents entail. Conway, reached by phone this afternoon, wouldn't give any clues.
"I can't say," he said. "It's not something that I can comment on."
The State Attorney's Office also wouldn't say.
Casey Anthony is being held in the Orange County Jail under an indictment for first-degree murder in the death of daughter Caylee Marie Anthony. The state is seeking the death penalty in the case.
Casey Anthony will not attend Friday's hearing.
Check back for updates.

Noticed it now says "may be" in court. Guess they're trying to comply before being forced by the judge. Maybe they realize he isn't sympathetic that they are grieving grandparents and they would have to turn this information over anyway. Hope it's all there and what the S.A.'s office is looking for and not a half-put-together thingy that G & C see as sufficient. JMO's!

Yep, it's hard to dig up documents when you're busy ASWing yourself all over the place in order to lie and dishonor your granddaughter. You know, Cindy. The one "this happened to".
Oh, and of course there's all the time Cindy spent memorizing the document page numberso she could make an ass of herself on the thing at the Morgan deposition.

I took a minute and jumped over to the 'anything' thread and ended up posting for the first time in there. Anyway, back to the topic...I was going to highlight and comment on the exact same part but you caught it too fast! I thought that was hilarious "the couple simply hasn't been able to provide the documents in the time frame prosecutors wanted". I guess, the prosecutors were being 'mean' and wanted it yesterday. HHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAA. IMO, this was just another form of denial and trying to delay the inevitable. Maybe they thought if they ignored it long enough, it would just go away and wouldn't be caught.

State Wants Documents From Anthonys
Prosecution Could Seek To Hold Caylee's Grandparents In Contempt
POSTED: Thursday, July 23, 2009
UPDATED: 7:08 pm EDT July 23, 2009
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A hearing will be held on Friday to discuss documents the state attorney has subpoenaed from George and Cindy Anthony, but have not received.
VIDEO: Lawyer Promises Documents
The Anthony's attorney, Brad Conway, said the subpoena for the documents was issued a few weeks ago. Conway said the prosecution apparently wanted the documents more quickly, but he plans to hand over the documents Friday morning.
The state could ask a judge to hold the Anthonys in contempt of court for failing to turn over the documents.
It is not known what information the documents contain or why the state wants them, but the judge has ordered the hearing to consider the matter.
Conway said he does not believe the hearing will be necessary because he plans to hand over the documents Friday morning.
Conway said the Anthonys have no problem producing the documents, and this is just a dispute over timing. He said he is preoccupied with other clients and the Anthonys have had a hard time producing the documents because their computer has been down.
Conway said he is working with the state to resolve the issue.
This request from the prosecution comes one week after defense lawyers for the Anthonys daughter, Casey Anthony, launched an attempt to get all statements made by bounty hunter Leonard Padilla and his associates thrown out of court.
Padilla and his team bonded Casey Anthony out of jail and spent time with her last summer. The defense said Padilla signed a contract not to disclose any information about her.
It is unclear if the documents the prosecution has requested are related to Padilla or another matter.
Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony. Caylee was reported missing in July 2008 and her remains were found in December.

Yep sure would. but if they have a program that does that then they also know how to defeat it. parts of those files will still be there. That is how they catch so many people who have illegal information on computers. If there is a program, then there is one out there to defeat it.

Maybe they are going to hit Cindy Anthony up for those telephone numbers and addresses she told Morgan she had for the nanny?

JMO's!
Wonder when the state first started asking for these documents? What the time frame was. They have been lying low for a while, surely if whatever the documents are, are in their house, they've had plenty of time to be getting it together. Or, to hop to the bank to a safe deposit box, whatever. I'm betting like someone posted earlier, they have probably been sitting on their keisters, thinking that no one would really push the grieving grandparents and distraught parents to provide documents against their own daughter.
Actually, they could use both items, IMO. But, I can't see any police department or other legit group contacting them and asking for use of their equipment either. :chicken: I would be :chicken:!!
I can see where LE or families have to contact TES and other well-established organizations that already have a number of people to look for on their agenda. But, it would seem a group that is just starting up would OFFER their services to LE, or even offer their boat to TES, things like that, until the group would be well-known enough thru GOOD reputation that people would be contacting them.
Just having a boat and having one photo op with it isn't going to have people contacting THEM. Of course, I am sure they feel their name is high profile enough that just one little ol' pic would have people recognizing them and calling them. Heck, all it would take would to be to have a police scanner. They'd hear information about missing children before the general public, and could already have contacted LE with boat in tow, to be ready to help search.

State Wants Documents From Anthonys
Prosecution Could Seek To Hold Caylee's Grandparents In Contempt

I'm surprised there wasn't a snide remark about their computers being down because they were impounded by LE @ one time. I am sure they could come up with something like, LE put some kind of bug (not a trojan or worm thingie,) on the computer to be able to track their activity and the computer crashed. Guess maybe I might not ought to mention this, as someone could still be cruising the message boards and might get ideas on this, lol!!!!

That woman is is devoid of compassion. Empty shell of a narcissistic creep. She's grinding her axes to be sure! From what I've seen so far, she is far reaching if she thinks her angry miserable self is going to go against the forces of the system. At this point I can't understand how she could have been good for Caylee in ANY way! All I see is a hellish nut house for that child when she was alive. I don't care how much she paid for her clothes.
I would give a million meatballs to see her wiped all over the court when she tries to go on that stupid level she was on at the Morgan Dep. She did everything but hiss. Ewww, what a terrible excuse for a human being. I see the jury actually sympathizing with the mini socio for having to be her daughter.

Well, the media may be unsure what it was Conway dropped off, but it must have been what the state wanted, as the state attorney, along w/Conway notified the Judge the hearing was no longer necessary. I can't imagine she would call it off, if she hadn't made sure it was the documentation that was requested.
I just shake my head about the A's couldn't produce the documents in the time frame the state wanted. Now, for sure I have no idea WHEN the state asked for this, and what dead line they gave. But, the A's haven't been out and about on the "Casey is innocent" tour for some time now. They haven't even been in front of the mics and cameras of the local reporters. There haven't been any hearings. They haven't been out on the boat to search for any missing children--heck, they haven't even been looking for missing children on land, nor has George been driving his billboard. So, what did they have except time to find and produce those documents? Unless they were spending a good deal of time trying to contact networks about more interviews. If so, they were probably getting a busy signal, what w/all the shows seeming to think there is NO news even after all this time since MJ died.

For all that Conway says their computer was down (or whatever the problem was) it would seem to me that, if the documentation was from emails, the state would just confiscate their computers again. Actually just if whatever would be on the computer, they would confiscate the computers. Well, maybe they were going to give the A's a chance to produce the documents, and perhaps, had they not, and there had been a hearing today, the outcome might have been to take the computers again.
But, I wouldn't trust the A's as far as I could throw them or their comuters. I'd be taking the computer as I wouldn't trust them to down load all the information, or even the correct information. And I wouldn't put it past them to try to do something to write over all the files they try to erase. Like someone posted--remember she was saying too bad she didn't give LE the dog brush instead of something w/Caylee's hair (and even then, she provided a SHARED brush, instead of the one used exclusively for Caylee.)
Brad sure looked like he was enjoying being the center off attention there for a bit, while he basically says nothing in a few short words. Perhaps, now that his back is better, he will be popping up more now.
Wait! I thought it was Bozo who told the PI(s) not to call the po po. Was it the Ants?
It seems to me that D Casey said it was Baez. Or, was it Hoover who said D Casey said Baez? The trouble is, I don't put much stock in what Hoover says, as he was relating information about how people acted in jail--specifically the licorice thing w/Baez and Casey--when the jail staff says there was no way it could have happened the way Hoover described it. And, D Casey? He seemed to be a rather shifty person from the get-go. Kind of wierd. Doesn't exactly make him a liar, but I'm betting he would to save his own arse. IMO.

Makes me wonder if they have the documents from Dominick and they want the same from G&C to make sure they match. Honestly, if I were the State's attorney, I would want the hard drive not documents. Anyone can doctor a print out. I would also want to see the history of the documents to verify that there has been no tampering.

Amy - I'm with you 100 percent!

Has anyone but Conway said the "documents" requested were on the computer? I mean, they should just demand the computer if its there, right? But if its paper, harder to find, give them a chance to produce it, right?
I suspect that what Conway said was a red herring to lead people away from what they are really looking for. It could well be the originals of contracts between the Anthonies and the PI's for example...
all imo, moo and speculation.

Don't think it's been stated by the prosecution, and I reckon the Ants coughed up whatever they turned over partially to keep it out of the court record and the press. Seems like there was a blurb about the possibility of the financial information and how the defense is being payed for coming to light sooner or later.

sorry to jump in here in the middle, but I had a quick question if someone can explain.
While reading the INCOMING text messages on Amy H's phone on the date of Friday, June 13, 2008 around 6-7am, there are a few that mention 'on my way to the hospital with my dad,' and 'my dad had a stroke.'
It's been said that CASEY made this up about George and used it as an excuse to get out of having to go on a trip to Jacksonville with Amy to pick up a new car, but in an incoming text on Amy's phone, the person who is sending the message says something about how 'dad will be fine, gave mom and I a good scare' and then it says, "sorry you aren't coming."
That part doesn't make sense to me.
If Amy was going to Jacksonville, why would CASEY text her and say sorry you aren't coming. Wouldn't she be saying "sorry I AM NOT GOING" instead of sorry you aren't coming?
Can someone explain? (Also, didn't I hear Cindy say that her dad had a stroke not too long ago and was not doing too well, and according to her dates and explanations, she put this between end of May and mid-June because she talked of going to see him the weekend before father's day because 'he wasn't doing too well.'
I just would like someone to help explain why it makes sense to say that it was CASEY who texted Amy saying 'sorry you aren't coming' when it is believed that Casey was the one who backed out of a trip, which would make her say 'sorry I AM NOT GOING' instead of 'sorry you aren't coming.'
I hope I wan't too confusing, but if you can explain this, please do. The only explanationsI can come up with so far are that maybe these texts weren't from Casey herself, but from someone else, or maybe Casey and Amy were trading identity, and maybe they switched phones at some point? otherwise, the message about 'sorry you aren't coming' doesn't fit with what we are being told by Amy H.

Hmmm.... Good catch. Another twist in an already twisted case. What does this mean, and where does it fit into the puzzle? I wonder if it was a typo kind of thing? I know when I look back on texts, I shake my head @ the grammar and even the wording. Maybe she meant to type "sorry I'm not coming" but wrote the other.
I do remember the discussion @ the time, and Casey was lying about George going to the hospital--her excuse for not going to Jacksonville w/Amy as planned. I think it was in Amy's interview where she confirmed that Casey had said her dad was in hospital, etc?
The possibility of phones being in switched would make sense (for the timing) if Cindy picked up Casey's phone. The info would be correct for the timing (Cindy's dad having a stroke) but one would think she'd notice, by the contact list if nothing else, that she had the wrong phone, and why would she choose Amy to text? No, I talked myself out of Cindy and Casey switching phones, even accidentally.
But, Amy doesn't say anything about her dad being ill in interviews, to explain any texts (did LE have those texts to ask about when they interviewed her?) to indicate she and Casey had switched phones. But, if no one asked, she might not have come up an explanation.
I guess the one who could explain this would be Miss Casey herself. And if she even remembered why she wrote what she did, who knows if she would come up with the truth or just an elaborate lie to explain.

One series of things that haunt me are 1) George was very near the trunk of the car on the 24th (was it?) 2) He vomited in the police interview 3) when deposed, he got very angry when asked about what Caylee looked like the last time he saw her, and was very upset by the word "remains". Those reactions seemed so strange. (Of course, few people have been in these circumstances, so what's the norm?)
What could it all mean? I have theories that sadden me if they were to be true...I wonder if we'll really find out what happened during the trial?
I suppose that the state has its hands full just dealing with the things they need to immediately convict, unravelling all that, and they may not even go to things like the phone messages...

Hmm, that got me thinking...
The prosecution. Do you think they will just be about: The child was missing, she was not reported missing for 31 days and not even by the defendant. The defendant shopped and partied while her child was "missing". Here is the physical evidence. Here is her reaction. The prosecution rests.
It could be made as simple as that. It could be a very short prosecution phase. We get into the minutiae because we really want to know why and how this happened.
Where they may have to get into the really whacked complicated stuff will be during the defense phase, because who knows what Baez' plan is (does Baez know what his plan is?)

Wow-I wonder if there is something in those documents that caused them to stall? Or maybe just being difficult:shrug:
With them, it's hard to tell. They have long been cantankerous (when I looked up the spelling, I came across contentious, and that fits, too) in their behaviours. Ever since they realized that LE was not looking for a LIVE Caylee, certainly after August 1, 2008. I say then, because they really were trying to be cooperative in the FBI interviews late July, IMO. George, especially. Even Cindy, even tho it does seem she was trying to point LE to any direction except to Casey.
I hope we get to be privy to those documents, bet they are interesting, especially if Cindy and D Casey really did have something going on, as per Hoover's allegations.
I'm leaning heavily toward just being difficult, not wanting to provide anything that might help the prosecution.

Didn't George actually go to the hospital? Or was it a different time? I do remember that LE published incident calls to the Ants' house on the OCSO website and there was an ambulance call. Maybe Casey was sorry that Amy wasn't coming to the hospital to keep her company while George lingered between life and death? So that they could make plans for burning his chit and moving Amy in?

Just not sure what to think about George's suicide attempt. Not sure that I believe it, but I did at the time.

Haaa!!!! I just saw this! Don't know how I missed it! Good one Loretta! My memorizer thingy is broken. I'm too old to memorize! I can't remember going from the car to the house 15 minutes ago. I'll white knuckle it baby!
The simple solution here is to not go from the car to the house (or vice versa). Stay home. Period.
There. I said it.
Being a hermit is a good thing.
Period.

Hey Loretta. It is topsy-turvy. We are experiencing global warming first hand here in the NW.
My thoughts are very cynical when it comes to Georgie's "suicide attempt." Of course, I don't have all the facts but I believe he was acting out in some degree to get someone to pay attention to him. Well, it worked for awhile. But did you notice he made a very "quick recovery" and was out in public very soon spewing family rage at ZG's attorneys, etc. I think he's a big phony, and his wife, an even bigger phony. JMO.
I've been drinking large quantities of Haterade tonight to keep hydrated in this heat wave!!!

Not sure if I even remember my thoughts from way back when, but honestly when the suicide gesture or attempt went down, my support was with George since a) it took forever to be reported, and b) because it was Conway who made the report instead of Cindy. And hell, maybe none of that matters. But THEN Cindy later reported suicidal ideation.:rolleyes: Nuff said.
Oh man, we should probably house-sit for each other; seems like we have each others' weather.
Hi Nawny! :seeya: Good One! He is indeed, Grinch's loyal dog. Responds to her commands, rolls over, fakes suicide, and has not a mind of his own. Losers! Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents since there is no news yet!
We're getting your summer weather here in sunny Seattle. We've had a week straight of 90 + degrees and will break records reaching 100 on Wed. We don't do well with this heat. I'm melting!

Hmmm.....wonder if that means the global warming is all in the great Northwest, and it's kind of returning to global cooling in the East? Or, all the people in the East have been heeding Al Gore's advice about global warming--only went too far? :D  :chicken:

Maybe he should put an icebreaker on the boat. A tall metal pole with a point on the end of it. As long as he does not pull a Titanic on us........sara

Loretta: Let me know when we can swap houses! Summers in Seattle are darn right beautiful with perfect 76-80 degree weather but this 95-100 stops us all in our tracks as we've never required A/C. I am truly SLEEPLESS in Seattle this past week!! Seriously, I would love to see your part of the country.
Yeah, I'm not sure what to think about that suicide stuff. I do try to look at all the possibilities and love other perspectives. Who knows what kind of chit that really goes on in their heads. Guess it will remain one of their secrets.
I so enjoy our discussions. Like the way you think, lady!

I'm telling you like a friend, that even though it's unseasonably cool here, the humidity is still unbearable. Could NOT live without AC! And even though we have a nuclear power plant on the horizon, we still pay outrageous electric rates since Entergy apparently sells the cheap power to other states. :cuss: But don't get me wrong, it's beautiful here and we would love to see you. Cause we'uns love y'all!

I've never been to Loretta territory either. Shame on me, shame shame:punch:
It seems they don't solicit their wares around here. What sa mattah? You don't like tourists? Do you live near the Clinton's? :chicken: I do like the bad boy though. Actually, I admire his life story. He made the American dream come alive again.
