Someone over on the currently-defunct In Session board said, "I don't want to know the details of any divorce other than my own" and added that she had had the same husband for many years and had never been divorced either.

If it was just him and her, it would be bad enough, but think of those poor children.

The Brinkley kids will be alright with counseling. I'm sure the Judge will order that. Christie needs counseling because she keeps picking the wrong men for her. She may be very pretty, but she is totally insecure. No wonder she was so upset with the way the hubster has been acting and treating her. He is just a bum (imho) who wants someone to support him in the manner he has become used to. I suppose he will either have to get a job or find another woman to support him. I find the media strangely in his favor. I'm not sure why they are jumping the woman this time and not the narcissist. Who is he?:shrug:

I do not think it is all the husbands fault. She used bad judgement when she did no do anything when:

He pushed her daughters face in a bucket of water.

He favored one child over the other.

Her child discovered porn on their computer.

Where were her motherly instincts then. She is making him look like a rat bum (which I think he is) yet, she let these things happen and did not separate from him then. I would not nominate her for Mother of the Year.

Well perhaps she will now find some peace of mind and continue to protect her children from bums and ***** mongers. He is lucky she didn't take a bat to his head when he pushed the childs face into water. He needs to be grateful he's going through d-i-v-o-r-c-e instead of the hospital for a brain transplant. I do not understand the women pandering after this creep and blaming the woman for being beautiful. It's a good thing someone in the family decided to feed and clothe and house the children. I didn't read the whole thing but from the little I read, it sounds like she purchased a bunch of properties (18 to be exact) at his direction while they were married. She gets to keep the properties and she paid him 2.1 million.

Because it was a marriage of two people, one of whom worked and the other who chased women, making bad decisions. I'm sure whatever money he gets will go to the IRS from his unreported charitable funds given to (uhmmm) gift horses. Christie does not have to worry. The IRS will follow the money. LOL!

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - Christie Brinkley's lurid divorce trial came to an abrupt end Thursday when lawyers for the former supermodel and her fourth husband reached an out-of-court settlement that gives her custody of their two children.

Brinkley will give her estranged husband, architect Peter Cook, $2.1 million but will keep 18 properties in the Hamptons. Cook also will get time with the children.

"It's to me a very bittersweet moment because it really is the death of a marriage," Brinkley, 54, said after the settlement was announced in court. "I'm very pleased with the results today. I was here fighting for custody." She held an elaborate dinosaur diorama she had helped her son make for a science class; it was used as evidence at the trial.

I am not blaming her, yet she is not blameless. She stood by his side while he did terrible things, dunking her daughters head in a bucket, favoring one child over the other, etc. It was not until someones PUBLICLY confronted her did she take any action. Sad :(

From what I saw this morning on CNN a good chunk of that 2.1M is from the sale of a boat they owned and had recently sold.

He gets 2.1m. A big chunk will go to his lawyers. His legal fees are said to be @1m. They will split the proceeds of the boat she gave him for his 40th b-day. IIRC, the boat has not been sold yet.

He took his gf & son out on it over the 4th wknd according to NY Post. Ironically, the boat was named "Sweet Dreams" and CB has an entity, "Whocanya Trust," which owned the house Peter & DB romped in. The one that he blamed the gardener for the mess they left :eek: You can't make this stuff up.

The dang $250,000 boat, called Sweet Freedom, was one of the major points of battle. Peter would fight to the death for the vessel. Now, they have to sell it when summer's gone. He got squat.
