View Full Version : Question about the Insession boards

Is anyone else finding it difficult or impossible to post there? I have, and initially thought I had been banned but I hadn't. A lot fewer people are posting than usual, and I'm sure this is why.

What's going on?

I believe you'll need to email Coldwater regarding issues you're having with InSession. Even tho this message board (CrimeLibrary) and Insession are both owned by TruTV there's a different moderator here named Deepwater. She has nothing to do with InSession as far as I know and Coldwater told me she has nothing to do with this site.

If people are having problems there you're more than welcome to come here and start a new topic. We don't seem to have the same restrictions as CTV aka InSession.

:seeya: Welcome to CL rph3664.

I cannot post or send IMs or e-mails at all. There have been a few times when I have been able to post, but within a few minutes, I can't once again.

I started this thread because a lot of posters frequent both boards.

There are known glitches that involve both boards. Have you cleared your cookies/cache via Tools, Internet Options, Browsing History (select delete)?

The problem I've encountered is staying logged in and hopping to another website only to come back here to find I have to log in again and then I get error messages. Cleaning my cookies/cache seemed to take care of the problem. Hope that helps.

I tried clearing my cookies and that didn't work either.

Since you mentioned "known glitches", then I KNOW it isn't just me.

I should add that I tried to sign on at the library and couldn't do it there either.

Even though the posters on Insessiontrials seem to have made more bad decisions in life than everyone I've ever known put together (and all of it is the ex-husband's fault  ), they still engage in intelligent dialogue.

JMHO.

There seems to be little technological attention payed to the insession message boards. It's impossible to bold. No avatars. Few icons. Etc.

Not surprised it was hacked. A banned poster might bear a grudge. A fired moderator might decide to retaliate.

(What was done with the personal information harvested on this crime library board when "freshwater" asked for e-mails from those applying to be assistant moderators.)

It's not "off base" to mention the FACT that a former moderator of this board asked those applying for assistant moderator positions to e-mail her/him.

What was done with the information harvested? Applicants were asked their opinions about other posters, etc.

With the obvious low level of tech support, it's surprising the insession boards weren't hacked before. What information was found by the hackers?

I wouldn't have a clue. Why don't you ask FW what she did with the info? And FWIW the admin of any site who uses vbulletin has access to the email address you sign up with along with your IP number and whatever other personal info you were asked for if you chose to give any. :read: It's in the manual. http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html?manualversion=30604500

Why don't the moderators of THIS board (crimelibrary) ask the moderators of the OTHER board (insessions) to post HERE, explaining what's going on?

There seems to be no cooperation between the two boards, and little or no communication between the moderators of insessions and the owners/managers of truTV's website.

There seems to be no regard for the members who read and post on the message boards.

The low level of technological support on both boards is another sign of the indifference by management and the moderators to the members.

When the insessions board was hacked, what personal information about members was found by the hackers?

When truTV sells advertising on the message boards, what membership numbers does it claim? (Does it continue to count those members banned from individual forums?)

Caje

If an individual members account were hacked the hackers would have access to that members saved private messages. I guess it's possible that could be a problem for some members.

And complain to the advertisers on the message boards: Wal-Mart, Revlon, etc.

When they buy ads from truTV, what are they told about membership numbers? Do they know that many members never read the boards or post on them because they are banned from the forums they're interested in?

Are they aware that the insessions boards have been hacked and members are receiving odd e-mails?

Are they aware that no effort has been made by the moderators to explain the situation?

Are they paying for advertising on non-functioning message boards?

In Session is the old Court TV message board. Tru TV is the reality message board. Crime Library is still Crime Library. 320 sycamore has nothing to do with any of the above. When Freshwater and others were let go from Turner she decided to start her own message board.

Several weeks ago I saw people saying that msg board got hacked. The moderator is very kind and I have been a member there since it's inception but when I tried to log on (after they said it was back up and running again), my entire IP was shut out for good. I have roadrunner which is nationwide. I know it's nothing I did personal but it's disappointing. Over the yrs other msg boards have banned entire ISP's to try to ward off hackers, but it did no good ultimately except to block out everyone on those nationwide ISP's. Hackers are awful but I don't know what the solution is. I don't know why they can't find the culprits and block the troublemakers; rather than to deny access to everyone in entire ISP's.
