You're welcome lynn.
I guess it all comes down to the "deals" they are able to come up with. Ridgeway only had one county to deal with as (he says) all the murders occured in King County. So, his deal covered all the murders he confessed to.
Yates had 2 counties to deal with. The first one he made a deal with, and only received the life sentences. I can't find where there was any deals with the second county for him, where they dealt the DP. Maybe, if they had found any mitigating circumstances, he would have only had life. Maybe he was counting on his meritorious service to his country to balance out that they would not give him DP? If so, he lost that bet. One would wonder, tho, why he would make a deal in one instance, but not in the other. Unless he was thinking they would find him not guilty of the last 2 murders?

It's True Gary Ridgeway should of gotten the Death Setence. Didn't he kill prostitutes through out the 1980's?

I think the disparity in sentences probably had more to do with the desire to find/identify Ridgeway's victims.

That May Be True But Didn't The Police And The Victim's Family's Have A Desire To Find There Body's?
