Hi everyone!

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself...I am London Lass...and guess what...I live in London, UK.

I am currently involved with a court case (it's been adjourned three times so far!), and the uselessness of the UK judicial system has sparked off quite an interest in judicial systems worldwide.

The death penalty is something I have always been curious about (i'm generally anti, but have been known to question myself on that if it's a particularly horrific case), and I find other peoples opinions very interesting on that particular topic!

Cheers
LL :)

Thank you!

FYI...the case I was a witness in came to an abrupt halt on Sunday, when they found the accused had commited suicide in his cell! The relief of not having to go through with the court case is immense, although it has left a slightly bitter taste, because a small part of us would have liked our day in court! He will now always be the 'alleged' attacker, which is frustrating, because the amount of evidence against him was massive, and even a UK court would be hard pushed not to send him down for a long time!

I can imagine that it must have been a relief for you not to go through the trial. I remember the sense of having been cheated when Fred West topped himself.

Oh my goodness...if you were personally involved in that, and for all of those involved, I am so sorry...Fred West was a very sick man.

Oh no I wasn't. Sorry if I gave that impression. I think pretty much everyone felt cheated out of justice being served on him. Harold/Fred Shipman too. It must be even worse for those who are involved though.

Oh yes...I totally agree, but the prisons in the UK are more like hotels in comparison to most countries, so he wasn't suffering enough as far as i'm concerned...he is one of the few, that I would say yes, to giving him the DP.
