Kansas authorities are searching for an 18-year-old woman last seen Friday who may have been the victim of a violent crime inside a local motel room.

Emily Sander, an 18-year-old student at Butler Community College, was last seen leaving the Retreat Bar in El Dorado, Kan., with Israel G. Mireles, a 24-year-old man police are calling a suspect in Sander's disappearance......

Israel G. Mireles is described 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. His 16-year-old girlfriend, identified as Victoria Martens.

The two are believed to be traveling in a gray or green 2007 Ford Taurus rental car with the license plate XUJ 487.

Authorities said they don't believe Sander is traveling with them. On Monday, police said they tracked Mireles to Texas and want to find him before he crosses the Mexican border.

Kansas police are searching for a bedspread that may be connected to the disappearance of 18-year-old Emily Sander, left. They also are pursuing Israel Mireles, 24, right, the last person seen with Sander Friday night. His rental car was found yesterday in Texas more than 300 miles away from Sander's hometown.

The floral bedspread police are looking for may be linked to the El Dorado motel where Mireles was temporarily living. An altercation took place in his motel room either late Friday or early Saturday that may have involved Sander. Motel managers notified El Dorado police, who since have treated Mireles' room as a crime scene.

WICHITA, Kan. -- A missing Kansas college student believed to be the victim of foul play led a double life as an Internet porn star by the name of Zoey Zane, a friend told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Sanders recently signed a contract for the pornographic work on the Web site, and told her parents about it on Thanksgiving, Watson said. Her boyfriend broke up with her because he did not approve, Watson said.

On the Web site, she appears in various states of undress in a cowgirl costume and a jungle-print bikini.

Police confirmed they are searching the Walnut River and Dam area for signs of Sander. Police also quelled rumors that a body had been found, saying they would notify the public if a body was found - even if they hadn't confirmed the identity.

There’s a new twist in the case of 18-year-old Butler Community College student Emily Sander, who went missing this past weekend.

Records show that the name “Zoe Zane” was copyrighted by Ragingbucks.com (NSFW), a Nevada Company, but trusted to an undisclosed person in Kansas back in 2004, meaning that Emily Sander may have been involved in the online porn industry at the age of 14.

Investigators say adult Web site not linked to woman's disappearance

Investigators have concluded that an adult Web site that a missing El Dorado woman was involved with has nothing to do with her disappearance, an official said this morning.

That conclusion is based partly on an interview investigators conducted Wednesday night with a woman who managed the Web site, El Dorado Police Chief Tom Boren said in a telephone interview with The Eagle.

Authorities say Mireles, who is believed to be traveling with his 16-year-old girlfriend, could be headed for Mexico, where he has family. Officials said Mireles is believed to have picked up his girlfriend after Sander disappeared. Federal and local law enforcement agencies along the border are watching for him.

The Texas Rangers are also looking for him.

Authorities do not know what kind of vehicle Mireles is driving. His family in Vernon has not cooperated with authorities.

Anyone with information about Mireles' whereabouts is asked to call 911 or El Dorado police at 316-321-1080 or toll free at 800-572-7463.

Body Found
Kansas Authorities Have Not Yet Determined if Female Corpse Is Emily Sander

Kansas authorities searching for college student and aspiring porn star Emily Sander found a body of a young woman today about 50 miles east of the town from which she disappeared Friday.

Authorities have not yet identified the body, according to Tom Boren, police chief in El Dorado, Kan. The body was found along U.S. 54, Boren said.

Emily Sander Case Now a Homicide Investigation

Authorities in El Dorado say a body found 50 miles east of town matches the description of Emily Sander. For that reason, police are now calling her disappearance a homicide.

Police have notified Sander's family. A positive identification will take some time.

Sander was last seen Friday night leaving a bar. She was last seen with 24-year-old Israel Mireles. He has now been named a suspect in her death

Michael broke up with Emily in September after she started posing for nude photos.

McAllister said Sander moved in with him when she was 17.

"It was the best time of my life, and I hope it was the same for her," McAllister said.

McAllister helped her finish high school, and she encouraged him in college. They bought pink and white Denver Broncos jerseys for themselves and their dog, Zan, that they wore on game days. She loved to dance to hip-hop music.

"She wanted to choreograph music videos. That is the only reason she did the Internet thing — to get a little exposure," McAllister said.

18-year-old Emily Sander was a college student from Kansas who was missing for nearly a week after Thanksgiving weekend. She was last seen leaving a bar in El Dorado, Kansas about 30 miles from Wichita, with a man identified by police as Israel Mireles, 24 years old, authorities said. El Dorado police found evidence of foul play after entering Mireles' hotel room where he was living. A nationwide hunt went on to find Emily. Emily was a beautiful, young spunky girl - 5'3" at 105 pounds. She had shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes that could light up the room. She had just started college and was looking forward to getting her degree so she could move back home to Texas where all her friends and family were. Sadly, Emily's body was found 50 miles East of where she was last seen with Mireles, on Thursday, November 29, 2007 around 2:30pm near Toronto Lake in Kansas. Emily's life ended too soon. Her case was quickly updated to a homicide, and a nationwide manhunt is now under way for Mireles and his 16-year-old pregnant girlfriend, who both started on the run just after Emily's disappearance, known to be heading South. Mireles was driving a 2007 Ford Taurus rental car, which turned up Tuesday, November 27 in Texas, just near where he had family. Authorities believe that he is either trying to cross the Texas border to Mexico, or have already crossed the border. He also has family ties in Mexico.

Friday: Emily Sander, 18, is last seen leaving the Retreat bar in El Dorado with Israel Mireles.

Saturday: Police find room splattered with blood at the El Dorado Motel, about a mile and a half from the Retreat bar. Mireles had been staying at that motel while he worked as a waiter at a restaurant next to the motel.

Also Saturday: Police find Sander's car parked at the bar. Meanwhile, police say, Mireles left Kansas for Texas on Saturday, taking his pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend with him.

Sunday: Police release photos of Emily Sander, Israel Mireles and his girlfriend.

Monday: Police announced they found "evidence" in Mireles' hotel room.

Mexican Authorities Arrest Israel Mireles

El Dorado, KS (Crime Library) — Authorities in Mexico have arrested 24-year-old Israel Mireles, the prime suspect in the murder of 18-year-old Emily Sander. Federal authorities in the U.S. are now working with Mexican officials to extradite Mireles back to Kansas, to face a capital murder charge for murder, rape and criminal sodomy.

"Right now he is in custody in Mexico and we are working on the extradition for him to come back," Troy Oberley, with the U.S. Marshalls office in Wichita, said during a press conference yesterday.
