Fifth Car Trip (http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2008/02/arubans_wary_of_fifth_car_trip.php)
But website VKMag picked up a page on De Vries' website which identified Van der Sloot. The page had been prepared for release after the programme was aired on Sunday but had gone live by mistake.

That's going to twist some tails around here!
I'm glad the interest is there.
Bet anita, paulus and julia are livid!
lol
good!
Finally the truth is coming out and julia has been nailed.
anita,(from what I've read and seen) has been exposed for the lies and rumors she has spread. She once thought that if she pushed this, "investigate the family" nonsense she could maintain the illusion that joran is innocent. Well that was blown sky high thanks to her little "sporter".
Do you think the vandersloots will try to publish a book or do anymore interviews?
I hate to say it but for entertainment sake I almost hope they do.
I went back to see the interviews where greta is with the vandersloots in their home. It is interesting to see it now after so much has come to light. To me it seems paulus has a real hard time sitting through it and anita is overacting. The lies that have come out of that one little house are incredible. Just incredible!
Now do we feel sorry for joran considering he never had a chance to be a normal human being with what is taught in that household?
NAW~

You really do miss those glory days as hall monitor, don't you?
Your kinda usless in the discussion that this thread is about, aren't ya!

Talking about useless, do you ever bother to read your own posts? They're either useless, or obnoxious. Sometime, both.

Latest update from the Persistence!
http://www.nholloway.blogspot.com/
Update: Fri 22-Feb 1300 hrs
The Persistence is working in shallow waters today. Working in shallow waters is in one sense a relief compared to the deep water areas. The shallower water is protected by the island both in terms of wind and currents. As a result, the area is serene and beautiful. On the other hand, the shallow water area contains its own set of hazards. Closer to shore, passing boats, coral, and underwater obstructions increase the risk of damaging equipment.

I read somewhere that Natalee's bahvior and way of dressing was rather promiscuous. Just because you read it on the internet doesn't make it true. Did you take that picture? If not you have no way of knowing that such an act ever took place.

http://www.peterrdevries.com/interview-mr-mos.htm
Peter R. DeVries: “What stands out for me in this: the fact that it is a young man, not touched emotionally by this case. He talks about it thoughtlessly and with little respect to Natalee”
Hans Mos: “Yes, that was… I have also watched your program with Joran and his parents, where they spoke about the way he was raised and the way he treats girls. We know from the police report that that was different. It surprises me that it has been said like this. Anyone could have known that it was different and what his intentions usually were in the weekends when he went out with those kinds of girls, mainly American tourists. The way he talks about it shows very little respect and I find that quite shocking actually.”

Thanks for this, Heyes, I hadn't seen it yet. While so many productive things have come from PDV's expose on Joran, it frustrates me he did not go far enough for a solid conviction. It surprises me that Peter De Vries, as an experienced crime reporter, did not realize this would still not be enough.
But no matter. The truth is on the Holloway family's side and it will be revealed eventually. No matter how many people have formed to oppose the Holloways, they have been vindicated at every turn. All the ridiculous conspiracy theories, imagined lies, vile criticisms are all falling by the wayside with each new revelation in the case.
It is delightful to hear that the Dutch "get it" and have seen Joran for the monster he has shown himself to be. They will be able to administer a type of justice that the Arubans, fooled by the crafty Van der Sloots, have not been able to provide.
I have said from the beginning: The truth will be revealed and justice will be served!

Your welcome!
I hadn't seen the entire interview and thought mos's response was interesting.
So many of the Dutch postings have been angry. It looks like joran better hide for a long, long time. Over there they aren't very happy with the "sporter". I've seen hate, anger, even death threats. Some just want to beat the living daylights out of joran. They feel for Natalee's family. Many posts describe Natalee as beautiful and innocent and joran as a murdering monster. Does the heart good, ya know? Seems anita and julia's smear campaign didn't last very long. Many posts discuss paulus and anita and how "foul" they are. What crappy parents they must be. It's eye opening.
Funny how the truth does manage to come out eventually. Turns out the vandersloots aren't as crafty as they thought. The world pretty much HATES them from what I've read.
GOOD!
I love the fact that now that the truth about joran the killer, has been revealed, the vandersloots have to hide their faces. I imagine they are so warped we haven't heard the end of them. But for right now, the silence is golden.

The Dutch reaction is especially interesting, in that they are known for being so calm, logical, intelligent and educated. For them to have such an emotional reaction is highly indicative of just how much Joran must be hated.
You're right, it is very gratifying to see the truth prevail for the Holloways. I agree we haven't heard the end of the Van der Sloots - I think they have been re-grouping from their son's shocking admissions and will come out with some ridiculous rebuttals. It makes me laugh to see who they have aligned themselves with and whose advice they have followed. :chicken:

I believe your right, From their history we know that's exactly what they do. I was shocked to learn that they publicly announced that "The Family" should be investigated within 2 weeks of sporters confession. Is this interview available? I'm now curious.
I think about the interviews in the past, anita sitting there lecturing us on how Natalee should have acted. How the Holloway/Twitty's should act. Wagging her frigging finger at the camera and saying how wrong this all is. Blaming, "The Girl", "The Family", and of course "The Media"!
Like they're the victims in all this!
And with joran on tape mimicking Natalee dying not 2 weeks later!!!!!

All of the above is so infuriating. How dare they? Not only did they say the "Family" should be investigated (a la RU), but they claimed Natalee had run away. Ugh is right! Joran sure told them! The VDS sure tried their darndest to keep the story clamped down on Aruba.....but Peter DeVries has exposed their son, more importantly, to the Dutch.
The Anita RUmors IIRC, were on the P&W show. I believe the P&W episode showed a clip of the VDS and their malicious accusations against Natalee and her family. They almost had everyone fooled until Joran was caught opening his trap. Sweet Justice!

Natalee's mother, Beth Holloway-Twitty, was at Auburn University-Montgomery Wednesday to help kick off a partnership called The Cold Case Investigative Research Institute.
The institute gives criminal law students a chance to work on real-life investigations. It also could shed light on some of the most notorious unsolved crimes.
Beth is helping others, again.
What is anita doing?

Have the vandersloots ever done anything to benefit society? Doubtful

Sick sick sick is all I can say about the vandersloots.
Beth is such a good woman, no wonder anita tried to blame her.
She will never measure up to Beth.
anita's jealousy raised it's ugly head. Obviously with her mentality the only thing she knew to do was to attack Natalee and Beth.

You're right, Grandad, there is no comparison between the VDSs and the Holloway/Twittys.
The VDSs are low life, inhumane, black hearted cowards looking to sue anyone, everyone they can (including their own country) for the actions of their very own sociopathic offspring.
The Holloway/Twittys only want back the daughter that one (or two) of the VDSs threw into the ocean.

Funny, I remember a nice fat pay pal button soliciting funds for joran. Joe tacopina was shamelessly soliciting on his website. In fact I remember another my space type page also soliciting with a pay pal button for joran. Then there's his book. Then there's paulus statement about a book he thought he was involved in with joran, but (as usual) joran didn't listen to his father and went ahead with his own book. Natalee would run as fast as she can from that mother. Imagine her shame and fury in knowing that her natural mother is using her as a bank account filler.
Poor Natalee, what a card to draw in life. If only she had stayed with Dave she would not have been sent on the drinking vacation by her mother.
Poor Natalee.

Imagine how the joran worshipers feel, defending this POS for 2.9 years, insulting others and their intelligence, trying desperately to sound superior and relevant over someone they didn't even know and now realizing the joke was on THEM. Embarassing, to say the least.
The Van der Sloots have been exposed for the lying, low class, money grubbing (thankfully their big pay out/Love Bowl scheme has been smashed by Joran), deceiving enablers and probable body disposers (criminals) they truly are.
It is all very clear now why Joran is the way he is. Between Anita and Paulus, he didn't have a chance at growing up into a decent human being.

All that seems to be left is jealousy about Beths looks. anita must be beside herself. Not only is she terribly unattractive she raised a murdering punk. well done anita! It must frost her flakes that Beth is well liked, attractive and is getting good press while anita's punk killer son is in hiding. Hopefully all we will deal with from anita are silly little jealousy comments, no more finger wagging/lectures for the camera.
So you're saying the van der Sloots were involved in some secret lawsuits only you know about.
Funny, since Beth's bogus lawsuits that were thrown out of court were plastered all over the newspapers and TV.

She certainly is becoming a highly requested speaker.
Beth can walk around, travel and hold her head up proudly!
The vandersloots?
No way on earth!
They have to hide, never can they be a proud family again.
joran may not be locked in a prison where he belongs, but the entire vandersloot family will never know what it's like to be "free" again.
Since aruba refuses to charge these killers and accomplices then social justice will prevail!
Beth will go on and be successful.
The sloots are being shunned by society. Laughed at, made fun of..(just go to You tube!)
joran will hurt someone again. This time it may be his own family!
(how bad did he hurt his brother before? and over what?)
Hopefully he is locked up somewhere getting mental help but I doubt it. His parents created this monster, they will end up paying for it! He may just end up resenting them and we know he has no control over his actions. This could turn out even worse than they imagined.

This he** on earth has only begun for the sloots!

I'm not at all angry with Beth. I noticed nearly 3 years ago what kind of person she was, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt for a couple of months, kinda like accepting the grieving mother card. But when it became clear that she REALLY IS like that, and when she quit her day job and started using Natalee for fund raising, and then the way she bad mouthed Natalee in the book, saying that Beth had warned her many times before she left, implying that it was all Natalee's fault that she ended up on a drinking vacation, and, saying that Natalee was not entirely to blame for Jug divorcing Beth, unnecessarily calling Natalee "passive aggressive" in the book
well.......no more grieving mother cards accepted by me.
Almost forgot to mention that the way she had Matt notify Dave after her own plane was on the way to Aruba.....unforgivable treatment of Natalee's father. And the way she attributed to Matt the idea that it was serious and his saying that they should call the FBI......well, she is just a sieve of lies.
But, no, I'm not angry at her. She will have to make amends with the big guy upstairs.

Natalee was the one that came onto Joran, unless you think it's normal behavior to invite a strange guy to suck your belly button in a bar.
Whatever sex they had was obviously mutually agreed upon.
She drank for days, had to be taken intoxicated to her room, got into altercation with a blue eyed dutch boy in a bar, had to be told by her own friends to slow down.
It's obvious to me, and to any impartial person, that poor Natalee made some really bad decisions on that vacation, and it's more than likely that she died from the drinking she chose to do.

Natalee played her cards in a risky manner, drank too much, and probably died because of it.

Oh my!
I have to ask...
I'm using this as an example, so bear with me. But this family that was murdered in Texas at the request of their teenage daughter (mother, two young brothers shot and stabbed, father critically injured)...was that solely the fault of the two men who did the act, or did the spoiled rotten evil daughter who helped them have anything to do with it?
My point is this...you can talk til the cows come home about how Joran could have been high when he said that or Joran never said that he dumped her blah blah blah blabbady blah. He KNEW she was thrown in that ocean and he did NOT KNOW if she was dead or alive. If not for his influence, at the very least Natalee would still be lying on that beach, or wherever the heck she had an episode. I don't care if Natalee was dead when she was dumped for eternity in a watery grave. It takes a cold person to dump someone's remains like trash, and then pointedly lied to throw her search party off track.

Defending a murderer is hard work, Heyes! These people are working overtime defending a drug addict, Joran Van der Sloot, who raped, murdered and kidnapped a young woman.
I can just see the tiny minds working feverishly, trying to understand Joran's confession, yet not succeeding in realizing the guy's goose is cooked!
Joran and Anita and Paulus trying to take government-type welfare handouts (LJ!) at the expense of the poor, Aruban people backfired, thanks to Joran for exposing this greedy family's love bowl schemes. Wonder when the Aruban people will run them off the island?
Now, Paulus must find other means to make a living. It has been rumored that Paulus is involved in the Island's drug traficking trade and that he even has a wealthy mistress on the side (can't say I'd blame him for that one!).
Or maybe they can send out the two younger brothers to play in the gambling tournaments like Joran. If they have Joran's skill, they can really help the family out with their winnings!

Love this and thanks, NN, I had only read the transcripts but had not seen the video! That was quite a warm reception.
Wonder how Beth has pulled off this phenomenon - how does she have everyone fooled into liking her? Hypnotism of the masses? Special force fields? Subliminal messages? Gamma rays?
Because surely it couldn't be because she is the grieving mother of a murdered girl, who has made it her life's mission to find her daughter.....or because people admire her strength and determination in having to do battle with an entire corrupt island and coming out on top.......or because people actually believe what she has to say over the words of the lying murderer Joran !
BTW, so thoughtful of you to give those (white tennis shoes) who like to repetitively watch Beth on video, something more entertaining to do. I like you because you are just considerate that way.

You really think when a TH kowtows to Beth to get her on his show for a salacious segment of sensational TV he's vindicating her?
If she wants to be taken seriously, she should get someone to help her with her wardrobe. She wants to come off as a grieving mother, not a teen aged rock singer.

If my daughter was in the same situation as Natalee, I think I would have her declared dead and have some sort of memorial service. Something similar to Laci Peterson before her remains were found. But I realize not everyone is like me, and Dave and Beth may feel very differently.
Just seems it would be healthy to have some sort of finality and a chance at closure for family and friends.

<snip>
Anyone can have a memorial service whenever they want, but there are laws that specify when, under particular circumstances, someone can be declared dead.
In different judiciaries a missing person will be declared dead in from five to seven years after he/she went missing. Under circumstances such as 9-11, or the sinking of the Titanic, the court will generally declare the missing victims dead as of the day of the tragedy, without bodies having been recovered.
There don't appear to be any circumstances that would provoke any court in Aruba to declare Natalee dead at this time.

Natalee didn't disappear from Alabama. She was last seen in Aruba. An Aruban court, not an Alabaman court has jurisdiction as to whether or not to declare Natalee dead.

Because people get delight in harrassing a killer. I know I do!
No one was laughing when it came to what joran did to Natalee.
No one was laughing when pictures of Natalee where shown. But when it comes to mocking joran and his family..........laughter all around.
Fair, really it's ok to laugh at joran, it has nothing to do with the serious subject of Natalee's death.

I think most people view Joran as a very bad person, and one who will never get the justice he deserves, therefore people turn to humor and public ridicule. I think it relieves tension, and keeps people from doing stupid things and crossing the line delivering death threats or actually killing someone that they feel deserves to die. I'm sure Joran would prefer the laughter, as humiliating as it is, to the death threats, jmo.
The same thing goes for O.J., Robert Blake, Scott Peterson, and many others...all tragic stories yet there are jokes galore and public humiliation. Even though Scott actually got a conviction and is sitting on death row, I think to many people that wasn't enough punishment.

Just reading your account of their phone call to Joran makes me start AGAIN with tears of laughter, Heyes! It was the funniest thing ever! What a dumb azz Joran is. The Dutch have quite the sense of humor!
Hearing the audience's reaction was priceless. The audience and the rest of us have got Joran's number now. It is the best thing that could have happened from the DeVries tapes! It actually eases the frustration and anger of knowing that Joran most likely will not see prison justice - but that he will be the butt of the public's ridicule, scorn and disgust.
Joran STILL has not told the truth - his parents STILL have not come forward, contrary to their lies.......and until then......Joran and Anita and Paulus deserve this and much more. Anything to make Joran remember what he did to Natalee.

It amazes me how the Peter DeVries tapes were the catalyst and that this is the only reason to force ALL the Van der Sloots to pay the piper. These arrogant, lying enablers of his parents still have not come forward.
When I think of their trying to take some kind of "moral highground" and saying how OF COURSE if they suspected anything about Joran how they would make him come clean......yeah, right. Wonder what's taking them so long? Anita and Paulus both heard it straight from the murderers mouth.

Isn't that "funny", FM. The new reality show....have a loved one go missing, become a glossy talk show attendee, ready with the jokes and laughter, please donate. Have a loved one go missing, ask the public for a lot of money and never give an accounting of it, get a bunch of facial alterations, fly across the atlantic, jumping at a chance to go on TV, hear what the tape is all about and cry the second time for the camera. That Dutch program was very illuminating, Beth came on with some sort of sequins on her dress, and did all the little faces while she told her story with the umpteenth variation on it. Then, they had a spot with the relatives of the wife of OJ, and their faces were so somber, so heartbroken, so serious, and so sad. Switch back to Beth with her little smirks, giggles, flippancy. I sure hope they don't make little Madeleine's parents share the stage with someone shallow like Beth.

They were trivializing the disappearance of Natalee. And the mother of Natalee is trying to get more money from the frivolity. But, as Beth once said, it's no longer about Natalee. Man oh man, was she right. And it was her sole decision to make light of Natalee's disappearance and to change her vocation to one of asking money from the public from being a teacher before.
Ask yourself this: Do you think the reality skit would have taken place if Dave Holloway would have been on the program? Of course not.
There is a huge difference in the seriousness of the 2 parents, the grieving, the pure sadness and sense of loss. Watch Dave's face sometime on TV, during one of the very few appearances he makes. Then, watch the mother's. You can tell who the grieving parent is, and it's not the one that sent the woman on the drinking vacation.
In the past I've had some criticism of some of Dave's actions, like writing that book so soon, but in comparison with that woman he luckily got rid of, he is 110% class act.

I thought of what you said when I first heard about this. Dave Holloway would NOT sit through something like that. You're correct, it WAS trivializing Natalee's disappearance. Just the venue itself was inappropriate.
There's a sense of utter sadness and genuine sorrow when it comes to Dave Holloway.
It just amazes me what a "money-maker" Natalee's disappearance has turned out to be. I can't think of a person who is not out for a share of that glorious pot . It disgusts me.

I have to admit I've criticized Dave, and even made fun of him, but I think he's one of the victims in this case.
I really don't know why he agreed to participate in the joke of a book and allow his name to be attached to it, and I think he was ill advised to set up a non-profit foundation and peddle knockoffs of one of Natalee's childhood dresses, but I have no doubt he was literally tricked into participating in the bogus lawsuits.
I'm afraid all in all he let his emotions override his sense of ethics.
It's unfortunate he didn't have someone who wasn't emotionally involved, and who had more objectivity to guide him.

Do you think Patrick scammed DeVries? That he got some info from Joran and didn't turn it over to DeVries?

If Patrick does make a buck, I'm sure DeVries would sue him, and possibly bring criminal charges.

An I hope he does make millions. More humiliation for Joran and the Sloots, their plan to make millions flops and the man who took them all down actually makes millions. I think Patrick has much, much more to say about Joran and the Sloots and I, for one, would love to hear it.
I agree. How ironic it would be for Patrick to make the money that the Van der Sloots thought they would be making! While they do hold special status - parents of the murderer - Patrick is a far more interesting character. No money for the Sloot Love bowls. Awwww. Looks like Paulus will have to work for a living after all.
If Patrick did double-cross Peter DeVries, then it would make the book all the more interesting! Why would Peter be mad? Didn't he enjoy phenomenal ratings from what they did show? Isn't the ultimate goal to find what happened to Natalee? Find the real "Daury?"

I have no doubt that absolutely nothing will become of these latest revelations (Patrick double crossed DeVries and the OM is "looking" for Patrick, etc.), just like the two "investigative physics" that had the goods on Beth. What happened to them ?? crawled back under their rock, would be my guess.
All feeble attempts to put Joran and the Sloots back on that pedestal that they have crashed down from. Once again, it ain't gonna work. lol No one cares who Joran confessed to, all that matters is that he confessed.

Just a simple question .... how could there be "gales of laughter coming from ANY audience", when dealing with this subject ??
How tragic .... It sounds like the "Tonight Show" ....

Not awful at all. Dave didn't want her to go on that type of vacation, and if she had absorbed his values over the more than a decade that she was under Beth's control, she probably wouldn't have wanted to go, she would have Dave's values instead of Beth and Jugs.

ya think so huh?
Is this your idea of complimenting Dave? I just don't think he would appreciate your blaming his lovely daughter for her death.. And on top of that, blaming the victim never works. People are hip to that defense so in this day and time it makes those that try sound uneducated and ridiculous. As Sara said. none of your opinions about Beth or Natalee would have changed the outcome. joran still killed Natalee. aruba still covered up the crime. The ale are still knuckleheads. paulus and anita are still humiliated by their sporter. Beth is more loved by both the Dutch and Americans now that the truth is out there. Thank you very much joran, you poor excuse for a human being.
Bummer for joran fans that there is nothing left for them to do but be catty about the victim and her mom. But what else would we expect from "adoring fans" of someone that nasty.

Blaming Beth and or Natalee for jorans horrific actions is the only defense left for the vandersloots and their 2 or 3 "adoring fans". When they resort to blaming the victim or her mom you know they have run out of any mature, realistic defense.
Cruel?
You bet!
But what do you expect from either a vandersloot or one of their few supporters? Just like joran, they feel that anyone that tells a VD sloot NO, or believes that joran and his family are guilty of being involved in Natalees murder, must be ridiculed and blamed. Warped isn't it?

It's difficult to compare something that did happen with something that hasn't been proved to have happened.
It's an established fact that Natalee did drink, and drank to excess. Do you believe anyone is "allowed" to drink to excess?
On the other hand, it hasn't been established that Joran disposed of Natalee's, or anyone else's body, so you're right, there is no comparison.
Whatever happened to Natalee, it's very likely that her drinking was a contributing factor.

I was merely pointing out to Gramps (who does blame Natalee and anyone except joran) that the only way Natalee's drinking had anything to do with her disappearance was that she was drinking when she met that POS vds, he caused her disappearance, not her drinking. I have changed my mind somewhat about this case, but what you say is the absolute truth. People have HAD certain theories from very early in this case. Even with Joran's "confession" ((which people allude to as PROVING what he did)), certain parts of that "confession" didn't fit the preconceived thought about what happened here. So .... those parts of the "confession" are just not true !!
I agree .... when someone is trying to make a point, and backs it up with what Joran "said" at any given time, lacks a certain credibility.

Joran said he was not interested in Natalee until she asked him to suck jello from her belly button while she was laying on the bar.
Actually I would say that Joran let his guard down by agreeing to the jello shot.
IMO
Is this what you mean by "patchwork quilt of his statements"? You believe him when he is negative towards Natalee, you don't believe him when he is negative towards himself. You are so very transparent.
imo
