Reported by Brian Cantor on July 3rd, 2007
The woman who first discovered the Benoit family bodies is hiding out in Boston to avoid the media swarm, reports the Boston Herald.
Holly McFague, the Benoits’ next door neighbor, aided the police in their search and was actually the first to witness the dead bodies. Upon arriving on the scene, police were afraid to enter the house due to the presence of Benoit’s two large dogs outside. But McFague, who was very familiar with the animals, volunteered to go in using a spare key.
“Holly knew the dogs and they knew her so she went in alone,” said George Regan, who represents McFague. “She found the body of the wife and son and ran screaming from the house.”
The report also says that McFague spoke with Chris Benoit on Saturday, presumably after he had already killed Nancy and Daniel.
“He told her this big, long story about how sick they were,” Regan said. “At the time she was thinking that it was way too much information.”

The more I hear, the more horrified and confused I am.
And all the disinformation from WWE hasn't helped. All the denials, and the fabricated stories about Daniel, etc. And all the *****-covering. They were skewing this whole thing right from the start.
In a away, it's a very good thing Chris didn't live through the hanging.
Can you imagine the murder trial-with McMahon and WWE testifying??
I sure wouldn't want to be on THAT jury.

That poor woman. I cannot imagine discovering a dead body, especially when it is someone you know! :(

I agree. I'd of been mortified. I still can't believe they let her go in the house by herself regadless of the dogs. They have protective gear they could've worn or the option to call animal control if they were that frightened of them.

Exactly!!! Why didn't they follow her in??
So sad. I can't imagine the images she has to live with now.

imoMy heart aches for those families. I keep wondering what in the world was going through Chris's mind when he did those terrible things. I think the steroids affected his mind, and the other drugs he was taking didn't help either. IMO
