When you log in, check the little box that says "remember me".

If that doesn't work, you might have to adjust your cookie settings in your web browser's Tools menu.

That's good advice Jayelles - it solved my problem of being timed out after about a 20 minute period of inactivity.

I actually don't have my computer "remember me" on any site. It's a nuisance having to log in every time, but I feel safer.

I check it (when I remember to) while I'm here but I always log in and out of every site I belong to, this one included. :seeya:

Hi. Checking the remember me box may help, but you should be aware that their are fake log in pages that can actually capture your information.

Ebay, myspace and other well known sites are common places for this to take place, but dummy log in pages can pop up anywhere and fool you into giving your personal info again, only to capture it. If you've clicked on a link somewhere that infected you, this could be happening. These links are used on purpose, so be careful when you click on any link.

Report it to Freshwater and if necessary, your account can be investigated.

Have a great day! :seeya:

Interesting - have you had a problem or know of something like this happening here?

The real problem is when I'm reading a long page, and I go to respond to the post, it makes me log in again before I can type up my reply...or when I'm going from one long thread to another.

I notice that my name is no longer in the right hand corner, and it has the log-in box.

I've checked the remember me box, but it doesn't always work.

I think when you check it, it might save a cookie to your machine and I have a feeling that could be unsafe if you get spyware.

I had a bad experience with spyware a couple of years ago. It was a new machine and I was setting it up and I made the mistake of getting the Internet to work before I installed my anti-virus software. I got spyware in that short period of time. It was a nasty one (forget the name) but the anti-spyware software couldn't remove it very easily and the best resolve was actually a manual process recommedned by Adaware! It wasn't going to be worth the hassle so I ended up just resetting my machine to factory settings and starting again - doing things in the correct order this time.

Hi One2. It is a process called "phishing" where your information is sent to an unknown website. IE has an option of whether or not to turn this feature on -- anti-phishing. Look under the tools option. It's in IE7 so if you still have IE6 you might want to update it. JMO

Hi and thanks Athena. I'm updated to the max and have very good virus/firewall protection and a big green bar across the top of my screen that says, "Fraud Monitoring is on". So far, so good.
