Woman Dragged to Death Under Fleeing Van

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A woman trying to stop a motorist from fleeing after a collision was dragged for several miles to her death under the man's minivan, officials said Monday. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents later detained Abdelaziz Bilal Hamze, 24, at New York's Kennedy Airport, Broward County Sheriff's spokesman Elliot Cohen said. The U.S. citizen was on a plane bound for Athens, Greece.
Hamze is accused in the dragging death of 44-year-old Sandra Hall was in a Cadillac struck by the minivan Sunday night, Broward County sheriff's officials said.
The minivan was driven away with the Cadillac in pursuit, and when both vehicles were stopped in traffic Hall got out and stood in front of the minivan, authorities said.
The minivan struck Hall, who became lodged underneath the moving vehicle, officials said.
Hall, of Fort Lauderdale, was dragged for several miles before she fell from the undercarriage, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hamze will be charged with first-degree murder, Cohen said. It was not immediately known whether he had an attorney.

That is so sad, I don't want them to get away with what they did. They didn't have to kill the poor child she was doing the right thing but they just weren't patient enough she was dragged to death that is terrible what a sad way to die

UPDATE : [Sandra Hall]'s family filed a lawsuit against [Abdelaziz Hamze] in Broward Circuit Court on Tuesday. They took the action in response to statements made by Hamze's lawyer that Hamze acted in self-defense, said Jack Paris, a Miami attorney representing the family.

Woman's family sues dragging death suspect

FORT LAUDERDALE He told his father he felt something under the van as he drove away, but he thought it was only a bumper, or maybe part of the engine.

This guy claims self defense. Is he crazy. :flamemad:

Self-defense?! Crazy probably doesn't even come close to what is wrong here.

I hope her family can take some solace in the fact that Sandra was standing up for what was right and just. And secondly, I hope he dies thirsty in a gutter. Before that I want Sandra's family to take every penny he has and ever imagines having from this day forward.
