a new amber alert was activated and then cancelled quickly when the victim was found and the suspect taken into custody. this has happened twice over the past three days. eight "current amber alert" cases are still unsolved (five of the eight still do not appear in the missing files of the NCMEC). as you can see from this thread there were quite a few amber alerts activated during the month of may, all of them were resolved and the abducted child was returned to their family safe. the amber alert is one help find missing children program that is working efficiently; but, could be even more efficient if the federal "Child Alert Program" and it's missing child "Postal Bulletin Notice Emergency E-Mail" supplement system was managed so it functions at the level of efficiency it's intended. i don't believe it does, but does anyone know if the amber alert program receives federal funding?
