It was behind door 518 at a Galveston motel room where the unimaginable happened: A father put his two-month-old daughter in the microwave and turned it on.

Manager says man calmly called for help after microwaving baby

Last Thursday, Joshua Mauldin, 19, was alone in the motel with his baby when he called for help.

“The father called down here, asked us to call 911, claimed that the child had a bad sunburn and was bleeding,” hotel manager James Marx said.

Marx said he didn’t seem distraught at all.

Mauldin later told police it wasn’t a sunburn, but that he had accidentally spilled boiling water on the child.

Then his story changed again.

Listening to Nancy Grace tonight the wife doesn't appear to be wrapped too tight either:

Updated Story 5/24:

However, police detective Holly Johnson testified in a court hearing Tuesday that, on May 14, Mauldin gave officers a different story.

“He picked her up from one bed and threw her onto another one. He then hit her — punched her in the groin area,” she told the court.

“He placed her in the hotel-room safe and shut the door for approximately five seconds. He then took her and put her in the refrigerator and shut the door for about five seconds.”

After that, Johnson said, Mauldin took the girl out, put her in the microwave oven and turned it on.

Johnson also testified that police did not know how long the infant was inside the microwave oven. However, she said Mauldin did tell detectives he was “agitated” at the time of the attacks.

Eva Mauldin has since said that her husband was not responsible for the child’s injuries, because he was under demonic possession.

I can't believe there are even people in the world who think like this. And to think that he could be "leading" people and teaching them. David Koresh?

I am absolutly sick over this story. I am by no means a bible pusher...but this wanna be minister...let a jury of his peers try him with his own rules he chose to live by...I believe it goes something like...An eye for an eye...... Sounds like few minutes a microwave sunbath is for him, if you ask this mother.

That scumbag deserves the death penalty or at least a good flogging. I would be there for sure to pour a nice scolding hot bucket of water on his head. How can anyone do things like this? Too many drugs.

Well the lord may forgive them.. But I sure hope the law won't.
IMO This is a sad image of a responsible mother and sad excuse of
a low life Minister want to be.... I'm sure hoping for jail time here.

If your hurting the little ones that are depending on you for protection.
Then the laws that are there to protect you, should do the same to you!

Rest in hell, Preacherman...

Reading this story made my heart & my stomach ache. It's sickening. That poor baby. I hope she'll be okay. And she'll grow up & find out one day that her own daddy microwaved her!
Too bad there's not a microwave big enough to stick him in for a few minutes so he could see what it's like.
