Ha, just don't get in the way of Jeeves ... he's got control of that taser gun like you wouldn't believe! He likes to do the Charlie's Angels pose with it.

I will try to stay out of his way, if he will give me leverage - it might take awhile for me to gain control of the thing .... years ago, I jumped off of a moped just before it attempted to climb a tree - I suppose that's not something they are supposed to be able to do (hmmm can all terrain vehicles do that? - LoL!). I am guessing not. I didn't relish the thought of having that tree embedded into my forehead, though so it quickly became 'every man/vehicle for him/herself' - do ya blame me?

You might try some mint tea. Mint is supposed to be a relaxant to the digestive system.

I'm all for natural remedies. Another indigestion remedy is to chew parsley. Also, ginger is good for nausea. Someone recommended ginger ale to me years ago after a tummy bug and I was skeptical but it was very palatable and stayed down.

One of the best remedy advices I ever received was for painful periods. I used to suffer dreadfully in my teens and early twenties - to the extent where I would vomit and practically pass out. I used to have to go home and go to bed with painkillers and a hot water bottle and stay there for the rest of the day. It was embarrassing and frequently inconvenient. A nurse friend recommended sherry in hot water and I gagged at the thought. A year or two later another nurse friend recommended brandy in hot water and I thanked her for her advice - but I liked the thought of brandy even less than the sherry. Then one day when I was fairly newly married, we were having an important business colleague of my husband's for dinner and I was in town buying foodstuffs when I started to get the cramps. I knew this was going to kill the day (and evening) so I bought a bottle of sherry in desperation and took it home. Seriously - the sherry in hot water tasted vile but my cramps had subsided before I even finished the drink. It was like a wonder cure. My nurse friend said any alcohol would do and that it works because alcohol acts as a muscle relaxant.

I used to too. I first got mine when I was 12 and no doctor realized it could have been my period. I was to young. or so they thought. i went for kidney test and back exams until I drank, slept and ate the procedures. Than finally it came, I was hospitilized numerous times for the keeling over pain I would experience. It was horrifying and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Luckily I know longer get cramps like that! ughhh!

I will never forget being a very shy 17 year old and having to explain to 40 something year old male boss what was wrong with me. I told him I had cramps and he said "In your leg?" and I said no my stomach and he asked me what could be causing that. It was awful. I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. He was a married man too. Pregnancy was a miracle cure for all of that LOL

Morning Gacountry :seeya: You said the magic word "Hog", we love to hunt. We are firm believers in only hunting what you eat. I would like to let everyone know that if your not going to eat your kill, think about donating it to Hunt for the Hungry. Many States support this cause, I know Tifton Ga has a drop off.
http://www.ybarranch.com/images/Farrell2lowres.jpg
You will have to come "Hawg' hunting with me! We have a terrible problem with feral hogs in Irwin and surrounding counties. They can destroy a corn crop overnight and root up peanuts by the acre. I love the pretty deer and use to hurt deer, we do eat what we kill or share with neighbors and have did the Hunt for Hungry route with deer. But these blasted hawgs are so stinky and tuff no one wants them. If we get a young one and the dogs have not run it too long it is ok, we do catch some in traps and these we have fed out and they are 'ok', the guys like to grill them but I can't make myself eat them.
When I started hunting and later when we taught our son to hunt we explained the eat what you kill theory~~~~OMG I have cooked some weird things, always said I would cook it just would not promise to eat it.

To you of my friends that think hunting is inhumane, if done right it IS NOT. Animals have to be thinned out due to disease and food supplies. If in rural areas you did not hunt you might as well just turn your land over as a wild life reserve, that's all it would be.

I cannot bring myself to do much shooting anymore except with my camera but I do enjoy the hog hunts with the dogs barking and the running through God only knows what on the 4 wheelers to get to the dogs. On the last hunt we had gone through a real weeded area and I could feel 'things' crawling on me. When we got back to the trucks I told my husband I was going to stay there a while. Well I watched the hunters go by, counted each light~~~then I got out of the truck, took my clothes off and shook the bugs out~~I decided to redress in the truck~~Just as I bent down with my full 'moon' rising~~the truck with the dogs turned on their lights and flollowed the others, laughing as they passed by. I COULD HAVE DIED!!! Lol they said we were the only hunters they went with that provided entertainment.

I will never live that night down!

AWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! Your so brave!! We need more people like you! I actually wish I had known about you, I live in Mass. I see your NH. And a friend of mine, had to put down a Rotty (unless your only shepherds) because he has bit his owners actually numerous times. And has bit his 3rd stranger. I actually think it's best. This dog IMO was beyond any help. i've told them in the past over and over again what they need to do to help him when he was a puppy, and I actually advised them not to buy him becuase they were first owners and I don't recommend a novice dog owner with a rotty. I believe it is their fault for his behavior, they wouldn't listen to what anyone told them. And well now he's dead. It really upsets me.

mishell, you are NOT to blame, most people won't take in biting "power" breeds. by that i mean strong willed breeds. & no matter how politically correct we get, some breeds are just more intense than others. i love them all but i won't take in any little breed just because i don't need the drama. i'm also not fond of terriers. but give me a gsd, dobie, rottie, boxer, chow & i'm right there.

Hope it wasn't anything too serious and that you are feeling better soon.

Did you ever hear about "rubella parties"? It seems to have been an old-fashioned method of ensuring that kids caught rubella when they were young. If someone had it, friends and neighbours would expose their child to the infection. I don't know whether this was peculiar to europe or not.

When my kids were little, a friend who was supposed to be visiting called to say her daughter had chickenpox, but I told her to come anyway because I figured it was doing the rounds anyway and our kids had been in contact before her spots appeared and when she was at her most infectious. However, my kids didn't catch chicken pox on that occasion. Instead they waited until a much more inconvenient time LOL My son caught it first and he was just miserable with it (he had them in his throat and bottom). A week or so later, my mother was babysitting whilst I went shopping and when I came back, she asked me to check my older daughter out because she had kept slipping out of the room and going to the loo. When my mother asked her what she was doing, my daughter (then aged about 3) had said "Oh I was just going to scratch a little pock". When I lifted her clothes, she was literally covered in spots! Much more than her brother had but she was as bright as a button and suffered no accompanying misery.

My youngest got them at Christmas.

Gracious, you are lucky it was just your hand he caught! I know it probably feels bad enough, but it could have been much worse for the sake of a few inches.

A few years ago, I had the back door of my car open and leaning into the car to my daughter. However, I still had a grip of the car door with my right hand. Suddenly, a car swung into the car parking space next to me and smashed into the car door - taking it right off its hinges. Except that I didn't let go of the door so he took me with it and it wrenched my arm right out of its socket. It happened so quickly.

Good evening everybody,

I'm sorry to have been gone all week. I really missed the board. My former hubby is going through an incredibly hard time right now. Yes, former, but you don't forget 17 yrs over night. Anyway, I began by asking the Lord to give me the strength to last the day, then by the hour. Now I'm reduced to asking for 15 minutes worth of strength at a time. So, please pray for him & I.

I may not be around much for the next week or so. We'll have to take it day by day.

My words of wisdom for the day:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid
in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body
thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

my fingers got hit by a car last night, walking across the street, this guy slows down to let me go (or so I thought) I go to cross, he speeds up, and I swung my hand up and his side view mirror hit my hand and my fingers bent backwards, they are so stiff and swollen right now but I don't think they are broken. :(

what a jerk:mad:

What a dangerous thing for that driver to have done! I probably would have peed my pants.

Hey Mishell. Been very busy today, not much time on the boards, but I am here now. How's the dating going?

GACountry, I am waiting at the bus stop for your bus to come pick me up. I need to "get away" for just a little while.
LOLOLOL I just pictured all of us smooshed in GA's little friend bus, with the hunky driver thats a teddy bear, and we all have our heads out the window waving!! LOL I crack myself up.

The dating is going, still seeing him. I cooked him a roasted chicken dinner with sweet potatoes and carrots, stuffing, and crescent rolls and a ceaser salad. He brought me 2 dozen pink roses and the cd of the band stone sour that we went to go see on tus. a week ago. :D

Thanks for askin zo!! :seeya:

Well aren't you just little suzy homemaker!! So proud of a young person that knows how to cook, and is willing to do it for a new "boy friend". It sounds yummy what you cooked, and I am sure he enjoyed it. I know I would have.

Do pink roses mean friendship? I know the colors all mean something. I guess I had better google.

LOL yes we do have a history of rubella and chickenpox parties here in Oz as well but noone wanted to come to Lachy's party.:D Thankyou for the kind thoughts guys, Lachy is covered in spots but not feeling sick at all, I on the other hand don't feel so good!

Do you have any Vick's Vapor Rub? If you do, rub it on the bottom of your feet, put some heavy socks on, and go to bed. Also, rub some on your chest, if you like the smell like I do. Its just been one of those days where it seems like I'm not getting along with anyone, at work I got into a disagreement with this guy, who we are really close. We hang out after work and it was a small disagreement, but I was stressed over that, I tried calling him after work to talk about it, and he didn't answer, so than I came home, and got into a fight with my dad, which was my fault because I was stressed out about the guy I work with, and he was stressed out because hes cooking this huge dinner party, and he gets frazzled, so he flipped his lid. It was just a bunch of hot tempers and stress. And on top of it I'm still sick, I feel like crap, I was supposed to go away tonight, but now are not leaving until tomorrow and I can't stop coughing. Hi everyone!
A grade school teacher was asking students what their parents did for a living. "Tim, you be first," she said. "What does your mother do all day?"

Tim stood up and proudly said, "She's a doctor."

"That's wonderful. How about you, Amie?"

Amie shyly stood up, scuffed her feet and said, "My father is a mailman."

"Thank you, Amie," said the teacher. "What about your father, Billy?"

Billy proudly stood up and announced, "My daddy plays piano in a whorehouse."

The teacher was aghast and promptly changed the subject to geography. Later that day she went to Billy's house and rang the bell. Billy's father answered the door. The teacher explained what his son had said and asked if there might be some logical explanation.

Billy's father said, "I'm actually an attorney. But how can I explain a thing like that to a seven-year-old?"
Hope you all are having a good day!:seeya:

I thought this joke was funny.
A young single guy is on a cruise ship, having the time of his life. On the second day of the cruise, the ship slams into an iceberg and begins to sink. Passengers around him are screaming, flailing, and drowning but he manages to grab on to a piece of driftwood and, using every last ounce of strength, swims a few miles through the shark-infested sea to a remote island.
Sprawled on the shore andnearly passed out from exhaustion, he turns his head to see a woman lying near him, unconscious, barely breathing. She's also managed to wash up on shore from the sinking ship.
He makes his way to her, and with some mouth-to-mouth assistance, he manages to get her breathing again. She looks up at him, wide-eyed and grateful and says, "My God, you saved my life!"

He suddenly realizes the woman is Cindy Crawford!

Days and weeks go by. Cindy and the guy are living on the island together. They've set up a hut, there's fruit on the trees, and they're in heaven. Cindy's fallen madly in love with him, and they're making passionate love morning, noon and night.
Alas, one day she notices he's looking kind of glum. "What's the matter, sweetheart?" she asks, "We have a wonderful life together, I'm in love with you. Is there something wrong? Is there anything I can do?"

He says, "Actually, Cindy, there is. Would you mind, putting on my shirt?"
"Sure," she says, "if it will help." He takes off his shirt and she puts it on.
"Now would you put on my pants?" he asks.
"Sure, honey, if it's really going to make you feel better," she says.
"Okay, would you put on my hat now, and draw a little moustache on your face?" he asks.
"Whatever you want, sweetie," she says, and does.

Then he says, "Now, would you start walking around the edge of the island?"

She starts walking around the perimeter of the island. He sets off in the other direction. They meet up half way around the island a few minutes later.

He rushes up to her, grabs her by the shoulders, and says, "Dude! You'll never believe who I'm sleeping with!"

Thanks Dallas.

I have quite a few 'favourite' cases, none of which seem to the subject of discussions on the CL Board. Probably because in almost all instances, the crime has been solved. I'm more interested in why the crime was perpetrated, or why no-one ever said anything even though they noticed something was wrong, etc.

Some of the few that I read over and over are

Sylvia Likens
Lisa Steinberg
The Wests
Most of the religious cult ones
Historical cases

Oh, just about all of them really. I like diversity.

I haven't joined in any of the established forums, apart from the McCann case, because the huge amount of posts is a little scary. Half the time, I don't know if what I want to say has already been addressed and doing a search, well, I tried that and it was overwhelming.

Hello DigitalDreamKat. Nice avatar.

I am interested in any type of mystery which may or may not be of criminal nature.

I usually post here or on the Natalee Holloway board, as long as the mods will allow me :D . I'm an avid supporter of country's legal systems as long as the laws are executed humanely. I don't believe the death penalty serves as a deterrent and I don't believe that a man with a hungry family should have his hand cut off because he stole food to feed them.

I believe that justice, no matter when or where will eventually be served and it's not up to us necessarily.

Dallas, I didn't mean to leave you mystified. I don't have a particular case in mind right now.

Well, maybe the Beaumont Children (http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/predators/adelaide/children_2.html) or even Eloise Worledge (http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/07/04/1057179154768.html), who came to mind after reading about Maddie McCann. I wonder if anyone is still looking for Trenton Duckett.

I am mystified by how Sylvia Likens and Lisa Steinberg slipped through the cracks. How can this be? How can it happen?

Things just whirl through my mind.

Yes Mishell there are.

A Labour Day is an annual holiday celebrated all over the world that resulted from efforts of the labour union movement, to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers.

The celebration of Labour Day has its origins in the eight hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest. On 21 April 1900 Stonemasons and building workers on building sites around Melbourne, Australia, stopped work and marched from the University of Melbourne to Parliament House to achieve an eight hour day. Their direct action protest was a success, and they are noted as the first organized workers in the world to achieve an eight hour day with no loss of pay, which subsequently inspired the celebration of Labour Day and May Day.

Labour Day in most of the world

Main article: May Day

1st May 2007 celebrations in Rome. There were about 700,000 people at the concert [1]

Most countries celebrate Labour Day on May 1, known as May Day. In Europe the day has older significance as a rural festival which is predominantly more important than that of the Labour Day movement. The holiday has become internationalised and several countries hold multi-day celebrations including parades, shows and other patriotic and labour-oriented events.

* In Germany, Labour Day was established as an official holiday in 1933 after the Nazi Party, or NSDAP, rose to power. It was supposed to symbolise the new-found unity between the state and the German people. However, just one day later, on May 2, 1933, all free unions were outlawed and destroyed. But since the holiday had been celebrated by German workers for many decades before the official state endorsement, the NSDAP's attempt to appropriate it left no long-term resentment.
* In Maharashtra (A state in India), Labour Day May 1 was renamed "Maharashtra Diwas"'.
* In Poland, Labour Day May 1 was renamed "State Holiday" in 1990.
* In Sweden, Finland and Norway, May 1 is a national holiday celebrated through widespread demonstrations by the entire workers' movement.
* In Italy, May 1 is national holiday, demonstrations of the trade unions are widespread. Since the '90s, the trade unions organise a massive free concert in Rome, with attendances topping a million people.
* In Denmark May 1 is celebrated through widespread demonstrations by the entire workers' movement throughout the country. There are also out-door activities celebrating the day in many major cities.
* In Netherlands labour day is not celebrated.
* In Korea labour day is a national holiday for labours.

YVW.

In Europe work hours are even better. Generally they have a 36 hr work week. Four to six week vacations a year. Plenty of paid sick days and days that you can simply take off (without pay) because you don't feel like working.

The odd sick day is easily excused, should you be sick enough to have to stay home for more than a day or two, a government assigned physician will visit you at home and determine whether you need more medical care or it's time to get yer hiney back to work.

Medical and dental care are subsidized if one cannot afford it, drawbacks are things like taxes.

Taxes for having a (or multiple) tv's, radios, dogs, cats, a car (aside from insurance and gasoline tax) and many other things.

Next lifetime I want 4 - 6 weeks of vacation, 36 or less hours to work per week and all medical bills paid for. Oh and I don't want to pay tax either LOL

I can dream can't I?

Sorry, we don't have StarBucks in our fair city. Have a place called 'Aroma' that knocks out a beauty though. Can almost chew that sticky sweet stuff. Yum.

Yes, very good site. Too much information. Bit like being a kid in a candy store if one is into this sort of stuff.

Mainly what drew me is the fact we have a serial psycho operating in our neck of the woods and he is a frightening bassard. Would love to flush him out and get him off the street.

Looked around several times for this sort of forum, but could never find one on Google. Perhaps I needed to clean my glasses or fan some of the cigarette smoke away. Smile. Then suddenly this site finally got noticed by yours truly. Doesn't appear it has been up for a very long time. Glad to see it is here.

...I am interested in hearing about this phycho. Can you post some articles on him. I would love to read some.

Thanks for the hearty welcome everyone. Sounds like a bucncha nice guys and gals hang out here. I am sure I will enjoy joining in.

Sorry, I don't have any articles per se. It has been just on 10 years since this monster last struck here in Perth... with much notice I should say. So not much has been said about him as the Claremont Serial Killer for about four or five years. Course not.. he stopped working there because the place is crawling with police patrols and there is now numerous security cameras, security lighting and the like. Anyway, for years the police investigated those killings and it was big, big headlines the whole way, but nothing much ever resulted. No one was ever apprehended and charged, much less imprisoned. So slowly the whole incident has gradually faded away from the papers and from the public mind as a news worthy item.

While all that investigating was going on the killer just cooled down. Took a girl here and there. Usually ones no one concerns themselves with... street prostitutes mainly and sometimes not in the city. I think he moved out or went on excursions and killing holidays working country towns and coastal resort areas. But he didn't stop killing. His activity just slowed or dropped off altogether at times so he may have ventured to Sydney or Melbourne or anywhere else in the country. But I am certain he is still out there. And I think this 45-50 year old nut case has come back home.

I have started a thread on him or them (could be two guys), but my vote is for just the one killer. Reason I say that is because two people can't keep a secret. Besides some of these serial murderers go for 30 - 40 years before they are apprehended. Anyway, I put that thread I mentioned under 'Serial Killers' current and ongoing cases. So you who are interested can check there from time to time. I planned on posting what I know or have worked out that is relevant to whipping up a 'realistic profile', not some stock standard profile. Textbook descriptions are fine as a guide, but I don't think they actually reflect real life situations. I will post about all the sixteen missing girls here in our state. A timeline sort of thing, because doing that shows his movements. You can actually see this guy developing, by looking at the list of missing girls, when and where.

I thought about doing this sort of thing for a long long time, but I never was able to locate a forum like this one. I check every so often... once or twice a year... but just didn't see this one until yesterday. There are a couple of blogs here and there that make mention, but seems those folks are most happy to work on weird angles. Satanic rituals and the like. Balderdash. This guy is a 'knock you down, do what I want to you, and then kill you' sort of guy.

Perhaps first I should do a short historical write up on what he did and how he did it back then and post that first. We will see how it goes and I am open to suggestions.

Anyway pop down to the Serial Killer Department of the Forum and you will be able to follow along and pitch in with ideas etc from time to time. There's a little bit there now. More to come. Helps if you study your Australian geography book too. Smile. I was hoping also, that some who live here and know the situation and have an interest might chime in as well.

See ya later guys...:hat:

After I posted to you and went and read the Maddie site, I thought it might be her. It just didn't show how big and bright her eyes are, as the other pictures do, so I wasn't sure at first. I think it is wonderful when people use people missing as their avatars. Like all the ones that have Tara as their avatar. That what you can see what they look like at different times.

you can try using the search feature. Type in appellate and you can find any threads with that subject, which is probably your nest bet. Or click on posts and you can search any posts with the word appellate in it. Search is in the menu bar at the top. Thats how I would do it.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. What has been going on with you?

We miss you too. :rose:

Hey Zoey! Yes...I am having some trouble with my head and my jaw. I get massive facial pain on one side of my face which makes me feel like my teeth are rotting and my eye is going to burst. I also get an 'electric' feeling and tightening of my skin around my left temple. In the morning upon waking my jaw cracks very loudly! At first my GP said he thought it was trigeminal neuralgia but the neurologist disagreed and said he thought it was a jaw condition known as TMJ. So while they try to sort it out (at a snail's pace if you don't mind), I am living with it every day. I am going to make an appointment with a Naturopath in Adelaide as there are none where I live. Also, I am waiting to be informed about an assessment on my spine. I have several discs that are hitting my spinal cord and they want to 'shave' them.
I don't mind telling you that this operation scares me! But when my back 'goes' it puts me in bed for a few days and I can't have that!..What with kids and horses and the dog and the rabbit and the bird and the fish!!! So, better to get it done while I am still young. Thanks for letting me tell you all about my troubles! I am trying to keep doing the things that I usually do otherwise I might go crazy!! Take care.

Take care.

I can't imagine the pain you're dealing with. I broke a vertebrae in my back years ago and found that "somewhat painful", angels were watching over me though. Nothing is as scary as a back injury or surgery. I hope your physicians find what is really causing all this pain and they find a cure.

My thoughts are with you while you're dealing with all of this.

Charmine you have our thoughts, meditation, and prayers. When one of us hurts we all share, not the physical pain, but in the support and loving. It is so amazing how a group can tap out messages on a keyboard and become so bonded, but I have seen it happen so it is so. Just remember when the pain is bad you got 'sistas' here for you!

you can try using the search feature. Type in appellate and you can find any threads with that subject, which is probably your nest bet. Or click on posts and you can search any posts with the word appellate in it. Search is in the menu bar at the top. Thats how I would do it.

WELCOME to the board!!!!

Thank you very much for your help. I finally did find the "search" button. And thank you for the welcome! Much appreciated!

Oh my Charmaine! Don't fall apart on us!
If it makes you feel better, I have TMJ, I wear a night guard at night when I sleep it worked wonders!

Look at it this way, hopefully it is TMJ because any of that other stuff sonds scary!! :chicken: Hope you feel batter!

Hey Mishell. I hope it does end up being TMJ as well because, with the trigeminal neuralgia I was on a drug called Tegretol which raises cholesterol and has quite a few side effects. But, having said that the Tegretol did take the edge off of the pain and I was having fewer attacks. I have studied up on the treatment for TMJ and at this stage I am willing to give anything a crack lol. Sleeping is the hardest thing for me because as soon as I lay down my face aches and the back of my neck hurts. The trouble with my back is completely unrelated and was the result of an accident. (I broke my arm as well but didn't find out that I had until 13 years later!). Yeah, that's right, I'm either really tough or really stupid haha! It doesn't stop me from riding my horse because that is really the only time that I forget my troubles. Some say to ride a horse is to borrow freedom. I really do not know where I would be without my horse Jordan, he is my best mate. Could you tell me if you have heard about a treatment for TMJ called upper cervical chiropractic care? Is the guard the only treatment that you receive for your condition and if so, is it sufficient, or do you think that you could benefit with further/additional treatment? Sorry to be so nosy but it would be good to talk with someone who knows what it's like. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and thoughts. Take care. :D
