Girl you are a gem!! My Granny was Scottish of the Ross Clan and I can remember her talking about making Tablet Candy and I thought she had gone batty! I do even remember a candy they made that was probably just that. Golly you never know what you might find on CL. Thanks again

I am still looking for a great banana pudding with meringue on top like my Scotch-Irish grandma used to make. It was Ferguson on that side and French relatives on the other side. So, I can make excellent sauces and gravies but that banana pudding eludes me.

Sounds nice! Hope you all are having a lovely day!
Hey! Just checkin' in! YAY, we actually had some rain last night with more coming this afternoon/evening! This is so awesome, I might actually have some feed in my paddock for my horses this winter. :D I have been here for seven years now and the first winter was unreal. The grass was past my horses big fat belly! We haven't had another winter like it, the drought is so bad here. Mmmm, just about lunch time so I am gonna go and heat up my creamy scalloped potatoes that were left over from last night's tea. :) It's sooo lovely and warm in here, I just might have a nap after lunch!:D Have a good one guys. :seeya:

One of the best chuckles I ever had on the Internet was on a sewing forum I have belonged to for some years. It's all ladies like myself who like to craft and exchange project ideas but one day, there was a desperate post from a man who needed urgent advice. I think he'd recently retired and was probably getting on his wife's last nerve but his poor wife had gone out shopping and for some unearthly reason, he'd decided to make her a dress! Can you imagine that? He'd never sewn in his life before but thought it couldn't be so hard if his wife could do it. Anyway, he'd managed to jam up the sewing machine (he said it was making a fearful noise when he pressed the "gas pedal") and he didn't know what to do about it. Not only that, amidst the chaos of his panic, he'd lost her good scissors and knew she'd be looking for them.
He didn't want his wife to find out about the mess he'd gotten into and sought advice from a group who might know what to do. We advised him to take the machine to the dealer and there followed a hilarious series of posts as he kept us updated about the situation. His poor wife didn't know what had hit her as she suddenly found herself being taken on a series of day trips and treats to keep her from discovering that her sewing machine wasn't there. It was a costly mistake for sure.
Every time I think of this, I laugh and laugh. He brought so much hilarity to our forum and it was a real tonic!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. ENJOY THE BBQ'S AND THE FIREWORKS. I KNOW I WILL.

OMG Suga, that looks wonderful. I have copied the recipe so that I can make it this weekend. I will let you know how it turns out. I can hardly wait. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
I'd love to hear about it! Which one will you try? I have actually never tried the one with meringue. It is just a recipe I had. The other one, I promise you, is excellent!!!.......and fattening :( I made a batch just the other day, so I could use that calorie zapper about now........ or maybe even Jeeves and the stun gun.......
I'm gonna try the one with the meringue. I can hardly wait!

I know our Reunions were spanned from Hell because I have been in charge of the darn things on my hubby's side about ever since we have been married.
I as of 15 minutes ago have 5 people here that I have no idea where they are gonna sleep! I have brought in cots and am seriously thinking about calling the Red Cross cause this IS an emergency. We have the actual reunion at a local Social Hall but they come HERE first, they eat, they swim, they mess up every darn towel I have then some. LOL and I do love it, I think I am an idiot for doing it and every bones in my body is screaming WHY but I will make it.
So it just might be Tuesday before I am in full speed and cooking for my friends here this picture food here is so easy to fix and the clean up is a snap~ Sure wish it would work on this crew that are eating the siding offa my house as I type.
Love and hugs to you all and I will be here AS soon as possible. Maybaby get to work!!! LOL

Bumping this to keep this thread on track and I'm still trying to figure out who blew the margins?? I think we all need a lesson on how to reduce a picture before we post it or how to reduce an "arrrrggggghhhh post" LOL Anyone want to offer any tips? I can give a few - but hope someone else will jump in with their 2 cents.
I'll post my tips later if no one else jumps in to save the day! :seeya:

I love to fish. Been fishing since I was just a little thing. Used to go every weekend with my dad, but he has since passed away. Now I just go occasionally, like once a year if I am lucky. Miss going all the time.

Hi guys thought I'd throw this joke in the mix!
Divorce Joke
A judge was interviewing a woman regarding her pending divorce, and asked, "What are the grounds for your divorce?"
She replied, "About four acres and a nice little home in the middle of the property with a stream running by."
"No," he said, "I mean what is the foundation of this case?"
"It is made of concrete, brick and mortar," she responded.
"I mean," he continued, "What are your relations like?"
"I have an aunt and uncle living here in town, and so do my husband's parents."
He said, "Do you have a real grudge?"
"No," she replied, "We have a two-car carport and have never really needed one."
"Please," he tried again, "is there any infidelity in your marriage?"
"Yes, both my son and daughter have stereo sets. We don't necessarily like the music, but the answer to your questions is yes."
"Ma'am, does your husband ever beat you up?"
"Yes," she responded, "about twice a week he gets up earlier than I do."
Finally, in frustration, the judge asked, "Lady, why do you want a divorce?"
"Oh, I don't want a divorce," she replied. "I've never wanted a divorce. My husband does. He said he can't communicate with me!"

Yep, gotta love 'em!!!
No grandkids yet. Just a 9 yr. old and 16 going on 21 year old, but I know what ya mean!!
Beaches are truly the BEST vacations, though. That's where we go nearly every year. We vaguely talked about going to D.C. next year. My daughter is pretty reluctant. I am trying to convince her that there is more to the world to see. She seems to think that going to somewhere like D.C. and doing all that sightseeing, etc. would be less like a vacation than the beach. I secretly agree, but I can't let her know that. Don't want us to get too spoiled!
I live for the beach, though D.C. is a fabulous place to visit. I love law and politics though, so it's easy for me to say such things. To a 16 year old I'm sure that the thought is dreadful:D
So  to the beach and mango daquiris oceanside!

OK, here is a plastic surgery joke:
This woman goes to her ps and is in desperate need of a face lift. Since her ps is the best in the world, he offers her the latest and best invention in ps.....the twister. He explains to her that once she has this face lift he will also insert the amazing twister, which is a small knob, and all she has to do is turn it around and her face will tighten and lift even years after the innitial facelift. She will forever have a face that never sags!!!!
Now this woman was estatic with this idea, to be young forever, and she eagerly went ahead with the proceedure. To her amazement she woke up with a beautiful brand new face, just as promiced.
Now years went by and just as the ps told her, the twister did all that it guaranteed, giving this woman a very good lift to counteract the wrinkles that seemed to come from nowhere. But, after many many years things didnt feel right anymore and the woman went back to the ps to see if he could help.
The ps seemed surprised when he saw her, almost in shock and he enquired about the twister and how it was going. The woman said everything was going great but all of a sudden she had these awful bags under her eyes. The ps, after studying the situation said, so you have been using the twister quite a lot by the looks of things. Why do you ask says the woman.......
`Because those bags are not bags they are your breasts!!!!!!!` to which the woman responds........`Well I guess that answers my question about this strange new goatee on my chin!!!`

I have been watching cricket, but I perfer couch rugby! ;)
Couch rugby ay? In the winter I watch AFL (Australian Rules Football). Now that's a game for real men lol. And, in the summer it's the cricket, which is pretty easy to watch being Australian (we do have the best team in the world haha :D). But right now it's cold and I think another cup of tea is in order. Footy's on tonight woohoo!!:) Have a good one. :seeya:

If your kitchen is cooler than mine, I'll be there in a NY minute. Well over a 100F here for a few days and no A/C. Things don't cool off until after midnight and I'm in no mood for cooking anything that can't be (re-)heated in the nuker.
See ya when things cool off, my offspring's request is for sghetti with meatballs.

I am a newbie to the board, so I thought I would introduce myself. If here isn't the right place, please accept my apology. :)
My name is Gail. I'm a 40yr old mother of 2 and almost granny of 1 in just a few months. Married almost 18 yrs to a wonderful man. We live west of the Mississippi, but east of California, in the desert.
Have been reading the news & case studies on Crime Library for a couple of years now. I clicked on the message board tab several months ago & was like "whoa, am whole bunch of crime-nuts, just like me!" I am gonna' love it here. So, no more lurking.
Have been so enjoying the food pix & recipes. GACountry, I am a very nice Southern gal. Would it be out of line to ask you to adopt me? I would be a very good girl and wash the car, bathe the dog, babysit the grandkids and clean house, if you will cook for me twice a week. Pleeeaassee?

Pleased to meet you all. I look forward to debating and discussing all manner of neat and interesting things.

Since she is really attached to it, I guess we'll start posting signs throughout the neighborhood! I really wish you all could help me look for it!!!http://www.visualjokes.com/funny/funny%20pictures%20lost-dog.jpg
Way to cool. I actually dressed in that outfit for Halloween last year, went all over town looking for my pup. This is way to cute AND yes you are now excused for your unannounced absence! This time lol. If I had known your dog was missing I might have been able to help.

Hi Everyone - some of you might know me from Open Court as "Mora 16" (name of my cat and her age). For some reason, I am not allowed to get back into Open Court to post which is because I believe I am being punished as I copied and agreed with an obsene post made by another member because it was so funny - something I probably should never have done.
For those that don't know me, I've been a member of CTV Message Boards since Aug. 2002 and just found out about this Crime Library Message Board. I now need the time to figure out all the ins and outs of posting as this Board is a little different than Open Court.
I am a retired lady, having raised 4 children as a Single Parent, and now the Grandmother of 9 and GREAT Grandmother of 2. I have posted pictures of myself and the two Great Granddaughter 6 Great Grandson on Open Court under the Threads "Picture of Michele" & "More Pictures" if you would like to see them.
I'll look forward to hearing from some of the Members here.

I am having a problem finding the thread that has the URL so that I can light a candle for Tara. I am not a member of that forum, but have been lighting candles for her. When I click on the URL I have because someone gave me positive rep for lighting a candle, it tells me I am not authorized to go to that thread. I can't find it anywhere. I posted something in the thread itself, but when I do a search under my ID, it does not appear anywhere.
Can someone please help me? I have not been able to light a candle since the day before yesterday, and it is upsetting me.

It is sad to tell but Freshwater had taken all she could stand and the forum was taken OFF. I pray it is not forever BUT am afraid it might be. Tara is/was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, friend, teacher and a child of God I pray each of you continue to remember her. I am so sad, it is hard to even think about all her archives and boards gone from CL but I guess when you get strife and disrespect at every turn this is what happens.

But this was just a thread that had a URL to light a candle. There was nothing else on this thread.

Morning!! If I had gotten to visit my Grandfather in Melbourne when I was a teenager, I probably would not have returned! ;)
Gosh you have really got me interested. Melbourne, hmmmm...I haven't been there I must say. I hear the shopping there is out of this world though. I have been to Sydney and climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge which was awesome. We got to do it in the afternoon so by the time we got to the top we got to see the most beautiful sunset and on the way down it was dark so the city lights and the Lunar Park entrance were stunning. It was a very rushed weekend though and I would love to go back with a little more time to spend there. I really loved the 'vibe' of the city and the harbour (OMG). The gum trees came right down to the water, it was stunning. I am an Adelaide girl originally and now I am living right at the base of the Southern Flinders Ranges. It is really nice here to as I can see the Spencer Gulf from my dining room window (we are 70 metres above sea level here), and the Flinders Ranges from my lounge room (I am not sure what you guys call that!!). Was your grandfather Australian? Maybe one day I will get the chance to go to Vancouver and see the killer whales, I know there is a little bay that is called 'the rubbing beach' where they seem to go...then I could die happy! There was a pod here once (at Victor Harbour), but I missed out! Anyways, enough for now. Take care. :seeya:

The only rubbing beach I know of around Vancouver is Wreck Beach. It's a nude beach rubbing may occur. Orcas might be seen from a distance, but mostly it's beached whales lmao.

Oh you know it, but it's not until you've been there......
Some appear to think that nude beaches are full of beautifully shaped young men and women.
NOT
If you go to a nude beach, bring an iron, you need it for the wrinkles.

This rubbing beach is only referred to by killer whale researchers and is so named because the killers go there to rub their bodies on the smooth rocks at the bottom. I don't ever want to go to Wreck Beach lol. But thanks for the warning!! Ha ha. :D

Hey again,
I had a Scottish Aunty though only through marriage. She was a beautiful lady...Well yeah, I guess you could say it was a boy. My partner is from Pt. Pirie which is a working class town about 13kms away from Napperby. His family has a long history with Napperby and there is even a park up here that is named after his grandfather. So, when we would come back to visit his parents, we would drive up to Napperby and he would say 'would you like to live here?' Well, duh of course I would say. I am a horse owner and it has always been my dream to have my own property. We sold both our homes in Adelaide, found a perfectly located block of land (4.3 acres), and built our home. So, now I have my horses with me and a much more peaceful life. With the odd kangaroo finding his way onto the property! When I go back to Adelaide it seems very 'rush rush' to me and I can't believe I am from there, even though Adelaide is described as a big country town, it still is a bit much for me. My family is there though so the only downfall of moving 2 1/2 hours away is I don't get to see them as often. I am going riding tomorrow with some friends and its after midnight here so enough for now. Have a good one. :seeya:

The kids are young to be having one of their own, imho, but we will do our best to welcome this new and beautiful life into the world.

You made me think of my dad, when you mentioned your snake. My dad was British and served in Burma during the war. He was travelling a well worn path looking for water, when he noticed a large snake crossing before him. Morning CB! Great to see you!:seeya:
I don't care how tiny they are......either they will hurt me or I will have a heart attack trying to get away from them. I have a snake phobia big time and that is putting it mildly. lol
I did have about a 3 foot moccasin get in our home one time. My little faithful dog Ruffles, who will always be my hero, alerted me to the snake and my hubby was at work so my neighbor came over and killed it for me. To this day if I have to get up in the night to pee-pee I put my shoes on and think about that da*n snake. lol So I really do know what my daughter and son inlaw are going through. It is mental torture.
Yep, hope they come in and find where they are getting in and where they must have been making their dens. I know how to identify snakes. My father's best friend was a Herpetologist but my daughter and her hubby are clueless and don't know the poisonous ones from the ones that aren't. That only heightens their anxiety I think.

I've been to Wreck Beach (while visiting my sister at UBC, her dorm was right down the street). I must concur. The only nude people were out of shape older men. Rather disappointing. The view of the sunset was very nice though.
By the way, hello everyone, I'm new here!
:D Hi Squeeze :seeya: Welcome!

Please don't forget me and say a little prayer for me and me and mine as I remember you and yours.

Evenin ya'll,
GACountry, my prayers are with you and your family.
Did ya'll see my last post? I told JadedBlueEyes I was afraid of snacks. Should have said snakes. :punch: If I was a lil more afraid of snacks and a lil less afraid of snakes, I wouldn't have the stomach flab.
I had to send one of my staff to the ER at work today. He's fine, the big lug.
He's 72 and not in the best shape. It was 112 here today and he had to go out into the field. (Not like a farm field. He went to a storage shed to secure it.) Anyway, before he left, I tried to give him cold water & food. In the heat here, I always make sure they have 2 bottles of cold water & crackers or something. He sez (grumpy) I got plenty of food and stuff to drink. Okaaaayyyy. When he got back, he sez "secretarial goddess", that's me, "I feel sick and want to go home." My radar went up and I asked just what he had been eating & drinking. Pepsi and candy. No wonder he felt sick. He got to go home, but the super is going to speak to him tomorrow about nutrition & dehydration in the heat.
Back to the boards for me. Carry on.

Was there a full moon??

I'd describe it but some of you may lose your appetite. Let's just say that at one time the moons may have been less droopy.

Hey CB, I am off to Adelaide for the weekend...(it was my b'day yesterday). So it's a reading with my psychic (I am in need of one it has been a while!), then shopping with Mum and then out for a Saturday night on the town with friends. Then I guess it's a sleep in on Sunday with bacon and eggs for brekky, and last but not least... the 2 1/2 hour drive home lol  . Hope you have a grand weekend. :seeya:
