A Cat died and went to Heaven.
A cat died and went to Heaven. God met her at the Golden Gate and said, "You have been a good cat all these years. Anything you want is yours for the asking."
The cat thought a minute and then said, "All my life I lived on a farm and slept on hard wooden floors. I would like a real fluffy pillow to sleep on.
"God said, "Say no more." Instantly the cat had a huge fluffy pillow.
A few days later, six mice were killed in an accident and they all went to Heaven at the same time. God met the mice at the Gates of Heaven with the same offer that he made the cat. The mice said, "Well, we have had to run all of our lives, from cats, dogs and even people with brooms. If we could just have some little roller skates, we would never have to run again."
God answered, "It is done." All the mice had beautiful little roller skates.
About a week later God decided to check on the cat. He found her sound asleep on her fluffy pillow. God gently awakened the cat and asked, "Is every thing OK? How have you been doing? Are you happy?"
The cat replied, "Oh it is wonderful. I have never been so happy in my life. My pillow is so fluffy and those little meals on wheels you have been sending are delicious!"
Dallas, I thought you would like this...I can see my Frank now!
omg I pictured little mice on rollerskates! I love mice! I love allllllll living things, Frank is having a blast Trish! I know it!

Man Charged After Trying to Drown Dog
setSize(curSize);
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A man accused of trying to drown his dog in a bathtub was charged Thursday with animal cruelty. Casey Purser, 19, faces up to five years in state prison if convicted of the felony count. Los Angeles County prosecutors said Purser became angry on Monday when he came home from jail on an unrelated drug case, and discovered his pet Shih Tzu defecated on the carpet.
He threw the dog named Toby into a bathtub and held under water until a neighbor intervened, prosecutors said. The woman rescued the dog by giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while her sister drove them to a veterinary hospital. There the dog was resuscitated with oxygen and its condition stabilized.
"I grabbed the dog, and I started rubbing him and breathing into his mouth," said a teary-eyed Ashley Chase at a Thursday news conference. "There was too much traffic. At one point I jumped out of the car and ran the rest of the way."
The pug-nosed and long-haired pooch was at the news conference, appearing healthy as Chase and a veterinarian held it.
Police arrested Purser Monday when he arrived at the veterinary hospital to pay the bill.
Purser could not be located for comment. His phone number was unlisted and authorities were unsure whether he had retained an attorney.
The dog was placed in the care of a police animal cruelty unit.

I am the same at the start of winter (although it doesn't snow where I am). I think...oh how nice my horses are all nice and warm in their winter rugs, I feed them a warm tea, I have the heater on...lovely. Maybe someone should hold Mr Pursers head under some water just long enough for him feel the fear that this poor little soul felt? So the dog s*** on his carpet, big deal. I'm sure that he sat at the door wanting to go outside before he had to resort to going inside. What a B*#@*@#*!!! Heres hoping little Toby goes to a loving home. I just don't get these people. It's like people who have horses and don't feed them. No one is forcing you to own these animals. No one has a gun to your head. If you find that ownership of an animal is something you no longer want, then, have the animal rehomed. It is not rocket science. There is no excuse. No need to apologize. My guess is certainly that this dog was not walked on a routine basis. If a person cannot accept the responsibility that goes along with owning an animal they shouldn't have one period. So sad. :rose:

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand. May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism.
Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace. May a kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.

Today is a special day for me, a day and time we can meet and ask Grace and Mercy on our families and on the cases we all hold dear to our hearts. We came together as a group of people concerned for the injustice that has fallen on so many victims, we seek justice for them and their families. This concern and apathy turned a few of us to come here to the Lounge for a respite and to regroup our minds and our energy to continue to fight for these victims. Well as we gathered here we began to love and admire one another, to feel each others pain and griefs, we became faceless friends. I thank God for each of you your interest and love for one another has reached across the miles to include my granddaughter, our pets, our hurts, our pains, our good times, and our bad. I cannot believe so much good has came from this but I sure am proud.
I will take this time to tell you my friends of a special quite and respectful program we as searchers are doing for Tara Grinstead. I have received permission to plant a Ginkgo Tree on the Courthouse Square in Ocilla as a living memorial to Tara Grinstead. When we dig the dirt for this tree I will say a prayer for each of you and for the cases that are near and dear to your hearts.
Again Thank you my Friends for all you do for me daily. I love each of you, and Gwennie sends her love and thanks too. She said to tell you'll she went to the fair yesterday and had "The best time ever!"

We sit and we type and we stare at our screens
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means
~
With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze
Looking for something or someone as we sit in a daze
~
We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we do form and gang up on our foes
~
We wait for somebody, to type out our name
We want recognition but it is always the same
~
We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt
In PM's we chat deeply and reveal why we hurt
~
We do form friendships - but - why we don't know
But some of these friendships will flourish and grow
~
Why is it on screens, we can be so bold
Telling our secrets that have never been told
~
Why is it we share, the thoughts in our mind
With those we can't see as though we were blind
~
The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell
We all have our problems and need someone to tell
~
We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must
So we turn to the 'puter' and to those we can trust
~
Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
They are *Friends Without Faces* with odd little names.

I said to the man who stood at the Gate of the Year, 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.' And he replied, 'Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.' May that almighty hand guide and uphold us all. Minnie Haskins 1875 - 1957

Regardless our our Religion we all have Faith And we believe in Something, I respect all Beliefs
Faith is When you walk to the edge of all the light you have
and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown,
you must believe that one of two things will happen:
There will be something solid for you to stand upon,
or, you will be taught how to fly~~~~~~~~~~
HE
I know He who calms the storms.
I know that if He doesn't deliver me from it,
His grace will lift me above its angry waves.
My peace is in trusting him and knowing
that whether sunshine bathes my soul in gladness
Or storms darken it with sadness,
My God is still the same
Yesterday, Today, and Forever.
His grace does not change.
His goodness does not stop.
His mercy does not end.
His power still awesome.
His love unending.
His promises still true.
He gave me life.
He sustains my life. Provides for me. Strengthens me.
Protects me. And takes care of me.
And get this!
He has promised to do so as long as I live on this earth.
And when my earthly journey has ended,
The glories of heaven are only a breath away.
So why should I worry and despair
when he has given me so many reasons to rejoice?
There is peace in my soul because I can say
what Jesus himself said:
Not my will, but Thine.
With the joy of Him in my heart I can sing
Have thy own way Lord, Have thy own way
You are the potter I am the clay,
Mold me and make me after thy will
While I am waiting yielded and still.
I know that whatever comes my way
must first pass through the Potters hands.
If it touches my life
it is only because he has determined
it was needed for the beauty of his vessel.
For he has said unto me:
My grace is sufficient for thee: For my strength
is made perfect in weakness.
My Father knows best. I do not.
I rest in the hands that have my name carved upon them..
And Today I go about the daily business of living as usual.
Tonight when I close my eyes
I will rest in peace.
For I know He who calms the storms,
And I know who holds tomorrow....

Each day is a new beginning given by God
I am reminded how blessed I am as this road I tread.
A new friendship comes to mind and it is my treasure.
Watching a child at play is my greatest pleasure.
Being able to help a fallen soul will
be my greatest joy.
Watching a bird build a nest while the
world searches for rest.
I am reminded I am only a small part of his plan.
When skies are blue or gray you are always there beside me.
I am reminded of God's love at the site
of a rainbow after the rain.
When I see the flag I'm reminded of the
freedoms I share.
I remember God's love to me when I
suffer much pain.
As the clowns come to town I am grateful I'm able to laugh.
I'll share your heavy load to let you
know I care.
I am reminded day by day we have much to share.

Please let me know the date, because I want to be there In Ocilla, GA on that day!

Sweetie you got it!!! I should have everything finalized tomorrow. We are planting a Ginkgo tree and it will be a small quite service. But folks it will be something we can visit and meditate under and this type tree is graceful and beautiful as Tara is.

And then I found this poem and it too was like Tara
The Gingko Bares Its Soul
All in a rush like a late October
flight of geese when the leader wheels
to the front and the flock follows,
the gingko lets fly its leaves
from their stubby shoots—
and in moments the ground is a pool
of yellow-gold.
It’s the same
each Halloween, as if the gold is
only a blind; and unmasked,
the tree waits, bare and mute, until
spring—when the buds unfurl
into cool green fans.
When my time
comes, I want to reach out
my yellow arms, let my leaves
go—not one by one, but all-in-a-
flash! I want to fill the dead
flower beds and the bird feeders,
the gutters, the fish pond, the chinks
in the old stone wall—
till I’m nothing
but wind and weeds and a drift
of leaves—enough, maybe, for a child
to lie down in and sweep out wings.

I dedicate this post to the crazy and huggable ladies and gents who come here to let off steam and maybe in a similar trend to GAC and her lovelly post i also would like to thank all of you, i have been in far too much pain due to a back problem that has been a real pain in the A** (let you guess what that is  ) and wasnt in the mood to sit at my computer these past couple of evenings and have popped online to have a quick read, it is very comforting for me to see there are people out here who do share compassion and also defend the victims and the causes for justice, i am a woman who popped into the Lounge and was amazed at the friendliness towards me as i know some message boards do take time to accept an outsider, thank you all for being such a loving and caring community. Hugz to you all.... :rose:
I agree :D You guys on the boards have been fantastic to me. It is coming up to the three year anniversary of my 17yr old nephews death and I know that you guys are here for me. My heart aches for him. Such a massive loss for our world. He was a complete legend and the most mature and wise 'kid' that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. We all have personal tragedies in our lives and I think that it helps to talk about it. I consider you all to be my friends. :) :rose:

You ever need a friend or a hug you know where to come. I lost my only niece when she was 5 1/2 same age as my Gwennie, I think this is why I get so upset when she gets sick. My sister struggled through that then he son, my only nephew, died with cancer when he was 32. But there is good sides to every story I guess. My sisters husband died a year and a half ago, and her first high school sweetheart came back into her life. I was angry at first because I loved by brother in law so much but dang if this guy I barely remember is not winning my heart. There is a ten year difference in mine and my sisters age with me being the youngest and its hard to see your older sister acting like a teenager! But Lord knows she needs some Happy in her life.
Just hang in there and when you feel yourself giving in to depression over the upcoming anniversary of your loss come here, we will be here.

Thank you hunni. I know he is around us. Of that there is absolutely no doubt! He does things constantly to remind us!! It's just not having him here physically that burns. Also, I grieve for the future that he had that sadly now will not be. You see, he was a nine time state motocross/supercross champ. He was turning professional. If he was here now he would be heading off to the states to further his supercross career. He was starting his own clothing brand. He always saw the big picture. He was a mentor to my girls. He was the only grandson for my Mum and Dad. The rest are all girls. I think that makes the loss even worse. Thank you for your kind words and I wish your sister all the happiness that she deserves. :rose:

Can you tell I watched Extreme Home Makeover last night??? The one last night was a real tear jerker. Does anyone else watch it? Wasn't Boey just the most precious little 8 year old ever?? She has cancer, and she was in remission, but the cancer has come back. When she broke down and cried, I totally lost it. There were not enough Kleenex in my house to stop the flow of tears.
For Boey - :rose:
God takes the good ones first. We don't know why, but he does. I hope that Boey is far on God's list, as IMO, she is going to make a huge difference in this world if she is allowed more time on this earth.

The reason I say that is I love John Grisham's book, Skipping Christmas! The movie, Christmas with the Kranks, was so over the top with every line a pratfall, making it a complete mess! The book was delightful. And so is Marley and Me. I hope Hollywood doesn't take such poetic license to ruin the pleasure of this book, and make it a Three Stooges flick.

I read this and thought it was hilarious, although the woman that found her husband cheating did not, it was better off she knew, and what better way to find out than by her beloved, trustworthy parrot
"A cheating husband was exposed after his wife’s parrot mimicked his voice calling out another woman’s name.Frank Ficker, 50, has now been kicked out of the family home by wife Petra, also 50, after she heard their 12-year-old parrot Hugo impersonating him on the phone to another woman.Petra, of Freiburg, Germany, said: “Hugo always liked to mimic Frank and he could do his voice perfectly.“Frank asking who’s at the door, Frank yelling at our nephews, Frank telling me he loved me. And then one day I heard him doing Frank’s voice, but saying “Uta, Uta”.”Petra turned the house upside down and found two plane tickets for a weekend break in Paris booked for her husband - and a mystery woman named Uta.She said: “I kicked him straight out. It’s just me and my parrot now.”

Hi all,
Have you heard about the crime that is supposedly being committed against all USA (dont call it generally America or you might GET it generally!) right now???
Supposedly the paperwork is already signed to erase the borders between USA, Canada and south America... IT sure sounds to me that one of us has a lot more to loose than the others in THAT deal!!!!!
It was supposed to go into effect in 2008 but was delayed.
Supposedly, they have railroad cars with handcuffs painted on them to take any protesters away when "the change" happens.
Is any of this true????
Have you seen this video from a few years ago? Evidently, this was part of the preparation for everything.

I used to groom dogs, I groomed for 7 years, and than I was an assistant to this woman who is one of the top ten Poodle Groomers in the country, I worked with her at a Spa for Dogs and Cats, and I helped her at the Eukanuba dog show, she groomed the Poodles and than showed Two of them, I sat on the sidelines and handed her combs but that was CRAZY FUN! I also won first place at the Mid Atlantic Pet Pro Show, with an English Springer Spaniel. It was only for Career Start, Beginners. But I was soooo excited! I won against 6 other groomers.

I just got a phone call from my sister who is my mums carer, she was in hospital as poor mum was in pain.
She suffers with a stomach problem so please please keep finger crossed that it isnt anything important, i might have to fly to her and help my sister out at the hosptial as mum hates sleeping alone in there.

I have a boring desk job working for my father, about 2 years ago, a Bernese Mountain Dog jumped out of the tub and I went to catch her, and she landed on my fingertips and snapped my wrist back, I broke it in 9 places. I can no longer groom nor pick up doggies. I'm very sad but I guess everything happens for a reason. I miss it terribly.

Don't Quit
Author Unknown
When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things go wrong that you mustn't quit

I wanted to post this for all the little furbabies we lost and all the loved ones that have left us. And to remind us that they are still and always will be right here with us in our hearts.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me,
I wish so much you wouldn't cry, the way you did today,
While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name and
took me by the hand.
And said my place was ready in Heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind, all those
things I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for, so much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you, and maybe
see you smile.
But then I fully realized, that could never be,
For emptiness and memories, would take
the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things, I might
miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was
filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through Heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
from his great golden throne.
He said, "This is eternity, and all I've
promised you.
Today your life on Earth is past, and
here it starts anew".
"I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last,
And since each day's the same day, there's
no longing for the past".
"But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true,
Though there were times you did some things,
you know you shouldn't do".
"But you have been forgiven, and now at
last you're free,
So won't you take my hand now and share
My life with Me".
So when tomorrow starts without me, don't
think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me, I'm right here
in your heart.

Don't Quit
Author Unknown
When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things go wrong that you mustn't quit

Just stopping in to say "hello" everyone. I am sitting here with the heater on. It snowed the first snow today. What a beautiful site. I love the first snow. After that, it just pisses me off!
Me too Zoey! Cozy fireplaces and the snow on the ground I can take for a couple of days! I know I'm WarmNCozy all year here in FL. The crisp nights of winter down here (yes we do have winter, it drops down to 50, Christmas Cactus Bloom and the poinsetta's are in bloom.) That's my idea of winter!

50 - are you kidding me??!!! 50 degrees is shorts and flip-flops around here. Now, when it gets to be -10 with a wind chill of -25 or more, then we have a tendency to put our winter coats on for a while, until it warms up to 0. Then we have a BBQ and invite the neighbors over!!
I live where it is very, very common to have the air conditioner on one moment and the heater on the next. It changes that quickly.

Dear Dogs and Cats,
The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine or feline attendance is not mandatory.
The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!
To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:
*Rules for Non-Pet Owners Who Visit and Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. (That's why they call it "fur"niture.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.
Dogs and cats are better than kids...they eat less, don't ask for money all the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car, don't hang out with drug-using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about having to buy the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, and don't need a gazillion dollars for college - and if they get pregnant, you can sell the child.
I missed this post when I was away from the Boards when Jakey died! This is absolutely precious!
I only have people to my house that love animals! And they don't care about the hair on their clothes because they have animals at home!
Thanks, Maybaby, it cheered me up!

Smart Cat
A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park.
As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.
The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home.
Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat!
He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.
Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Is the cat there?"
"Yes", the wife answers, "Why do you ask?"
Frustrated, the man answered, "Put him on the phone, I'm lost and need directions!"
ROF LMAO! This is just like a cat! Thanks! I needed that laugh!;)

Here too in the WINTER! AC goes when it's 80; heat goes on when it's under 60!
When you live in this climate, your blood thins so that you can tolerate the horrible heat and sun of summer! Anything under 70 is like 30 below for Floridians!

[CENTER] I found a picture of Haggis!
Cozy, I popped in long enough to grab a hotdog and catch up on my reading, just as I went to take my FIRST bite this awful pic appeared on my puter! It looks like a half cooked worm!! Then I looked at my quick supper and the gag reflex way back in my throat said "ain't no way this is staying down", so to make a short story long YOU RUINED MY SUPPER.but I luvs you anyway.
I have not had a chance to read back on all your post this week I have Gwen and she has made me very sick, lol. Between her snotty nose and my flu shot I have been feeling terrible but have enjoyed every minute with her. Today I was Princess Betty and she was Princess Veronica (her new fave cartoon is The Archies").
http://www.archiecomics.com/josies_house/images/the_archies.gif
we had to go to WalMarts to get more 'dress up' supplies, as I walked into the store with her the old gentleman at the front said "Sure to like your crown". Yep folks I wore a childs princess tiara to town and guess what I just kept on shopping crown in place and grin on face. We had a ball between the coughing and blowing of our royal noses. Tomorrow we are painting pumpkins and decorating her porch for Halloween, between watching The Archies and playing princess, sure hopes she lets Betty (me) have a date with Archie tomorrow she made me date Junkhead (her pronuncation of Jughead) all day today. Between his goofy looks and his dog HotDogs sloppy kisses I am ready to bathe and got to bed.
I will catch her with you all later just know I love you all and pray for you daily.

Just dropping in to say hi to all of my faceless friends. Wish I could spend more time with you but I will leave you all with a wish:
This is my wish for you:
Comfort on difficult days,
Smiles when sadness intrudes,
Rainbows to follow the clouds,
Laughter to kiss your lips,
Sunsets to warm your heart,
Hugs when spirits sag,
Beauty for your eyes to see,
Friendships to brighten your being,
Faith so that you can believe,
Confidence for when you doubt,
Courage to know yourself,
Patience to accept the truth,
Love to complete your life.

Hi Everyone,
Y'all wanted to know about my doc appointment. Well the rib is healing great he said, but I got worse news. I think everyone knows I a disabled due to back injury years ago at our glass shop.
Well it has gotten extremely worse and I have to have surgery and I am not happy about it. To top that off he wants me to go ahead with the carpal tunnel surgery also after the back surgery. My carpal tunnel has gotten worse do to my use of the computer. I told him I am not giving up my work on the puter so forget that. So I will have it a short while after the back is
done.
That is about it Thanks for all of you all kind words and caring:rose: :rose: :rose:
