Most serial killers are in the American west coast?

Over the many years that I have been reading true crime books I have noticed that most of them that have taken place in America have been in the west coast states.

I know there has been serial killers all over the country. But why is it Tx, California, OR and WASH has a big amount of them? I also noticed Florida has its share as well ( yes I know Florida is not a west coast state).

Whats up with that?

Louisana has a large presence of serials. There have been over 60 missing and murdered in the Baton Rouge area alone. Not even counting the latest Domingue (SP) in Houma. He murdered at least 20.

I agree the west coast does have a lot but so does New Hampshire and other east coast areas. There are pockets of serials and that should help LE in identifying but alas it isn't what we hope just because we identify an area.

Could be a combination of geography, seclusion and extravagant life styles.
IMO just a thought to ponder, could living in the vast lands and growing
up hunting and fishing or be it one's self wishing for contact with others that
never comes, make one a sort of predator for contact. Could the confinement
of solitude actually distort one's rationalization through time and bring one to
discard pity and remorse for the joy of self indulgence ?
I'm sure someone has analyzed this somewhere. But I'm still a little curious ?

Surely the numbers are a factor. However IMO geography, lifestyles, cultural
habits, differences in social standings are all factors. Even the young child
who is considered weird and pointed out by his pears with the above settings
could have an increased chance of losing all respect for others, since
childhood this person has come to believe others do not respect him.

Maybe there's something here ?
