Within hours after police say he stabbed a man to death outside an Oakland restaurant on a March night in 1956, Alfonso Del Rio disappeared.
His Oakland apartment was empty, his car missing and police assumed he had returned to his native Mexico.
Now, more than a half-century later, police have arrested Del Rio in a Texas border city, obtained a confession, and closed one of Oakland's oldest unsolved cases...
