View Full Version : Go After Boyfriend Now!

I don't usually post on ongoing cases. Trying to offer solutions on unsolved past cases is just a hobby for me. Ongoing cases involve real living victims, perhaps in danger, and real living frantic relatives, too much for me, or for a hobby!!!
But if I were to post on this case, having read the Crimelibrary's reports....I'd say go after the boyfriend now!
He is the last person to be known with the potential victim. At that last time he is reported to be angry with her. He is reported to be in a argument with her. After that he did NOT call the police. After that he DID steal the victims cell phone (he used it to call past girlfriends). Interviews, with at least 1 past girlfriend identifies him as 'abusive to women' , and 'afraid of him'. He probably at his young age has a record for domestic abuse of women, and other petty crimes.
With this sort of background, the boyfriends guilt is clearly indicated. In such a 'real life' situation, not 'court' situation, it is up to HIM to prove himself 'not guilty' by taking a polygraph. If he REFUSES to do this 'under these circumstances'......then.....he is OBVIOUSLY gulity.....and all that remains is 'obtaining' his confession, or 'eventually proving' his guilt.
AUSTIN MUST POLYGRAPH THE BOYFRIEND, WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?

I suspect the b/f is an informant. How else could he be getting through to the detective on this case. And why else would he not be a person of interest (suspect) in this case. I would tell the new detective that if I didn't get some answers right now, I will be out in that neighborhood spreading the word that he is an informant (snitch). That should shake some apples from the tree! I notice there is also a new detective in the case. Maybe the other one couldn't just let it slide knowing he was probably guilty. I would find that other detective and appeal to his/her consciense. Why would a guy his age be living in a motel without a car? Drug dealer. This guy is 31 years old and he has several relatives in Austin. I would hunt them down and get their story. No doubt they would lie but there's always some truth in their lies and you can cross reference what they say.
The fact that he gave Liz the wrong cloths tells me that someone else packed up Roxy'x things for him...an accomplice! And who's cloths are they anyway??? Is the owner of these cloths alive?

Could LE just be letting the BF "think" he is an informant?
JMHO--he seems kind of a stupid sort.......IMO

Does the BF have a record? I wonder if he is known by the LE?

I have a question--if it's been asked and answered somewhere, I apologize.

Did LE ask the boyfriend to take a LDT? If so, did he decline? Can LE force a person to take a LDT?

If I were the boyfriend, I'd want to take one asap in order to clear my name----unless I had something to hide.......

Good morning, Shelby,

As far as I've seen, the BF was interviewed but not given an LDT. LE cannot compel someone to take an LDT and usually a suspect's attorney will advise them not to take one if there is any doubt. LDT results are not admissable in court but they are a good indicator for LE to make a determination where they need to focus their investigation. IMO, if he is innocent of doing something to Roxanne, he should contact the County Sheriff's Office and volunteer to take one. JMHO.

Merrick

Thank you and good morning, Merrick!

I just did a search of sex offenders in Austin along I-35--boy there sure are a bunch of them.

Merrick

I completly understand, Merrick, and also, for situations like this,THERE SHOULD BE some kind of Truth Serum given to the Bf,& company..........
He was probably so relaxed/was/still is(?) from substances that he could fool a LDT anyway.......we need some ways to hold people responsible that take girls places such as has been described.......

Hi Brainstorm...

I thought I've read that even if a person is on drugs the LDT can still determine deception. I've also read that a person can learn how to beat a LDT - but I think that takes some practice. I stand to be corrected.

O2S,

You're right. People react differently to stress, some people are prolific liars and have no trouble convincing themselves and others that their lies are the truth. I think we call them sociopaths these days. There's a new movement towards using MRI to conduct brain based lie detectors. They were going to start testing them in Philly this past summer. I really haven't kept up with it too much but early results showed a 90% accuracy rate, a lot better the standard LDT. JMLOHO.

Also couldn't a drug test be given with the LDT?

I wonder with so much time passed could he have convinced himself that he did nothing wrong???

Hey julia,

I'm sure they could give him a drug test or soemthing to determine if he's under the influence at the time of the test. IMO, so much time as passed that he has probably convinced himself he got away with it. JMHO.

It is sad....

Hello all. I am just checking in and reading for what might be new in Roxanne's case. I am so glad that these threads were started to help Lizzy and her family find Roxanne. I belong to another forum where there is a thread for dear Roxanne.

I would love to be in on some of that..........hooking perps up to the latest lie detector test........ I could not help myself.......... I would have him so scared...giving him the evil-eye........& bragging about the accurancy rate..
and giving him the "you aint ****-boy" look.........Grandmas & pas can be brutal !!!! JMHO

Thanks to richandfamous, we have a way to contact Austin PD to inquire how the search for Roxanne is going, and to just let them know that there are those of us who want to find the truth. Sometimes squeaky wheels really do have a better chance of getting greased.

This should probably be on all the threads.
