Remember Andrew Cunanan? very hot! Ted bundy? kinda handsome. Even old charles mansion has his charms with the family of lady followers. Are good looking guys more dangerous than bad looking troll like men?

To me a mean, hateful, cruel, spiteful, evil, nasty, unkind, malicious, pitiless, brutal, merciless, vindictive, heartless, offensive, revolting, vile, vicious persons are never considered attractive regardless of what the exterior may look like. These are the type of people who are truly the ugly people of the world.

Actually, if you saw pictures of Cunanan taken towards the end of his life, you could see that his looks were going south very quickly. Most of the pictures circulated before he was discovered were several years old and didn't reflect his current looks. I've always felt that was a large part of his problem. His looks were just about the only thing he had that were "bankable."

However, I do believe that good-looking criminals, both male and female, are more dangerous than the ordinary-looking type. It's simply human nature to be attracted to/interested in someone who is good-looking.

I think good looking serial killers use their looks to their advantage. Serial killers are manipulative, sly, and cunning. They will use whatever they can to obtain a victim. I don't think they are necessarily more dangerous than bad looking ones. If a serial killer targets you, he will find a way to get to you unless unforseen circumstances prevent it.

Breezi, I'm not sure how to respond to your posts..

Breezi, In one word, "NO". You may actually have too deep seeded a facination if you find their looks hot knowing what they did to others. Or.....just picture yourself living in total fear and getting away from one, the worst mind f%$# you will ever have. Bodily Scars to remind you daily and then you don't even know if he is still out there. Who he is. Oh yeah, but he's a hottie, I would love to meet him again, I have a spot on his forehead. It would be hot alright. Don't play games with these people, it makes you a target for the ones that are not in jail or executed already. Be facinated, but HOT....OMG....Makes me sick.....

Can you say PTSD, Severe PTSD.....

I have to agree with lildoxie here, as well as, in some ways, Portabella...although I must admit I have a certain fascination with the character of Hannibal Lecter (as in the books), and I find him (as a literary character) attractive in some ways. But really...I would have a hard time becoming attracted to a real serial killer, I think. I'm fascinated by the ultimate cruelty humans are capable of, so I find serial killers and the psychological phenomenon of serial murder to be fascinating, but I think that's different than actual physical attraction.

Most are better than hot. That is part of their lure and mystique. They use those looks to their advantage. Most are above average intelligence as well.

"Above average intelligence"??

I suppose that's why all the serial killers mentioned above got caught--because they were so smart? LOL!

And I think you're being very "selective" in naming "good-looking" serial killers--most of them look appalling.

Or maybe it's just that murderers don't turn me on.

Go figure, huh?

Yo!

There's a very strange pshycology around what's been posted here above. Please dont think anyone expressing their "fascination" with these killers weird. Remember something: We only find things we do not understand, fascinating and the same goes for fear. These two are in most cases interlinked.

Why do you rubberneck at an accident scene? You fear the very thing you wanna get a good look at. Why do you read stories about serial killers? It scares the living $%*^ out of you! You fear it cause you dont understand it. Good for you, actualy.

People have done this for eons: Looked under their beds to see if the bogeyman is there. What you gonna do if he IS there? Peeked behind the shower curtain, checked their closets, investigated noises outside in the dead of night. What is it with our morbid fascination with the unknown horrors of life? Strange indeed, isn't it?

Good post, however not as strange as you might think... It is theorized that humans are born with a kind of fear of the unknown which verges on awe. Fear is ordinarily an unpleasant feeling and not one that one would want to reproduce on purpose artificially, however fear combined with awe of the sublime is something all together different and could be considered pleasurable. Horror inspires wonder and keeps alive “the instinctual feeling of awe about the unknown.” This is why some horrific scenes and or stories captivate us while others spark no interest at all. However I think a more basic reason would be that Horror attracts because anomalies command attention and elicit curiosity. And we all know how powerful curiosity can be...

The topic is ridiculous however in a way it is also important. In most cases No serial killers are not "Hot". In fact its because they themselves believe they are so ugly or impotent or inadequate that often leads them to commit these crimes. Not solely for this reason. However this is what is known as a "Stressor". A personal conflict which attributes to a serial killers violent behaviour. In the cases of the more "attractive" looking serial killers, their looks to them are only a means of passing through a crowd unnoticed.
Also in many cases Serial killers are unkept and disorganized so their physical appearance usually reflects what we'd expect to see in a serial killer.

No,looks have *nothing* to do with whether or not a man is dangerous.

But,a preditor can make himself look "good" in order to seduce/attract their prey but most serial killers aren't the seductive type anyway.

Most use other means, such as brute force (Example:BTK),they care about what their PREY looks like (sometimes, some are opportunists) and not what they themselves look like. Some also use tricks, like pretending to be a cop/security officer (Example:Bundy),etc... to gain access to their victims via trust.

And some prey on prostitutes,(Example:Green River Killer)no need to look a certain way there either.

Just generalizing here, there's much more out there.

All I can say to the OP is this:

Swans are beautiful to look at, but they are nasty, vicious creatures when you get too close.

As an aside, I have never rubbernecked at an accident scene, I'm embarrassed for people who do.

Having said that, I love a good psychological horror and yes, it is indeed that attraction for the unknown.

If we answer you yes, then Peter Dupas, Robert Pickton, John Wayne Gacey, Leonard Lake, David Berkowitz, Ed Gein, Al Fish, Carl Panzram, Dennis Rader, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Ed Kemper (to name a few) weren't very dangerous. Physical attributes don't contribute to criminality any more than the bumps on your head.

PS: Obviously you've never seen the ubiquitous photo of Bundy in the courtroom

I tend to agree with you on this. Years ago I ran into Aileen Wournos at a Burger King in Wildwood, Fl. She was as evil, unkempt person you could imagine. Those eyes, and she stared and you knew you had met the devil. The next day I saw her composite sketch in the Miami Herald. It didn't take me a second to recognize her and call authorities.

Interesting?

I thnk the Night Stalker was cute. But kind of scary but still hot.

I still support the death penalty for him and find it strange that someone actually married him. He's too scary to be with and seems kind of evil.

Yea I dunno, I still say the evil from within overshadows the beauty of appearance. Hot or Not? Not.
