How is everybody on this lovely Sunday afternoon? The sun is shining, though it's cold. Had a great walk with two very giggly girls along the river. Now warming with hot cocoa.

I hated time outs when I was in kindergarten... guess I still don't like them..:hat:

Fine day today... hubby and I hit my favorite store this morning (well favorite when it comes to house stuff..lol) Target... filled the cart... came home... just in time for the Bears-Seahawk game.. what a great game...preferred the Hawks to win.. but Bears are okay..I like that it will be some different teams going to the big dance instead of the usual.. would love to see New Orleans make it to the SB.. Got the Chargers and Partriots on now.. what a snooze fest...

It's friggin freezing here.. got the heater on and hubby's gonna starte the fire here in a minute. My little kitty loves the fire.. she will lay in front of the thing till she is just sooooooooooo hot.. doesn't phase her one bit..

It was a beautiful Sunday in the mid atlantic east coast states. It topped out at 72 degrees and was pure sun. Took out my lounge, put on a bathing suit and darkened my "electric" tan. It was a good day. No hot cocoa here, it's more like a Marquerita Day, here! Took a quick bike ride along the boardwalk very early this morning. The ocean was beautiful. A very calming Sunday. I kind of wish I had my grandson with me. He's always a lot of fun in this weather but he had one of those kiddie birthday parties today.

Any idea how long the board will be closed?

Well uhm good for you? LOL Crap, I'm still warming up. These kinds of days are best spent with kids, we ran along trails, threw rocks into the river, broken ice that was stuck on rocks in the river. A small adventure.

No idea when FW will re-open the board. I'll be way too busy to get involved in any type of discussion during weekdays anyway, I'm sure some will weep hehehe.

Solve the mystery for me while I'm out would you please? ;)

Cooked kitty? Hmm I've heard it said that most of us have had domestic animals to eat by way of ordering asian food. Disgusting ain't it?

Please stay warm and keep your kitty safe! :seeya:

It was so cold in So Cal last night that my mother's water pipes froze and burst open on her roof. When I returned home from dealing with that mess, I found my husband ranting about all the boxes in the garage and the need to rent a storage unit somewhere because our three car garage has room for only two cars.

Of course it's my "junk" and his "treasures" in the boxes. Granted, I have four sets of china and only one fits into the China Cabinet, but does he really need to save his Boy Scout and high school football uniforms?

Then I find our board closed.

OMG I didn't know it got that cold in CA. Good luck with dealing with all of your disasters.

I can definitely vow that china needs to stay and whatever doesn't fit anymore needs to be donated. ;)

It's not suppose to be this cold, I didn't think the Chamber of Commerce allowed it to get this cold!

I'm luckier than my family, I worked in DC and have some cold weather clothes.

That is gross! Besides, I heard about the fued between China and Switzerland over St. Bernards. China apparently was breeding these dogs for the sole purpose of using them in their "dog" restaurants, which are very popular. Well, Switzerland found out about this and retaliated saying they would start breeding panda bears for the same purpose (of course they were only exaggerating). It was quite a fight between the two for a while. Don't know what became of it but I suspect many Chinese people are still feasting on St. Bernard pups. Don't think I could ever eat dog although I do know from travelling in that part of the world it is a popular dish. Yuk, double yuk and all that. I wonder, though, does it taste like chicken! That was uncalled for, IMO.

I'll never mention it again, I'm sorry.

I remember the first time when I lived in LA and there was actual frost on the windshields. People didn't stop talking about it for days, mentioning how darn cold it was. Mind you the temp rose well into the 60s and pushing 70 in January in the afternoon.

Here, where I am now, in southern VA, if it snows, people actually abandon their vehicles in the road and take off on foot. Of course, there is no danger to the people walking because there's very rarely more than inch of snow which is gone in an hour.

Snow is where I go to ski, not where I live. It was in the upper 20s here last night, and only about 52 today.

Here in east central Pa. it's a miserable, rainy gloomy day. The upside is you don't have to feel guilty watching two football games.

I don't want to gross out anyone, buy more than 50 years ago in Korea, they would get a medium sized dog and force feed it cooked rice until it just couldn't eat another grain.

Then they'd beat it around the midsection with sticks until it hemorrhaged and blood filled the stomach and mixed with the rice.

They would then remove the engorged stomach and cook it.

It was considered quite a delicacy.

Will be back later if I don't get a time out.

O/T, that is if there is a topic to go off, the clock is now 5 minutes off.

If it continues gaining time, we'll be posting tomorrow today. Hmmm....I wonder what Einstein would say about that?

My husband read over my shoulder and informed me over dinner that I misled you. I have five sets of China, counting my antique Tea Service.
