As i've said before i don't post unless i feel i've got something to say,so please bear with me and don't laugh me off the board for this.I am and always have been RDI and i make no apology for that but recently i heard about Winston Churchhill and how he was a druid and his two fingered V sign was more than just that and it actually was a Druidic symbol.I immediately thought of the mark on JB's hand and it got me thinking. So i read up a bit on the Druids and their practices and how they would make human sacrifices to atone for their sins. Now what if one of the suspects were a Druid and had maybe been molesting JB and the only way they could atone was to get rid of the one who was making them feel like this and thereby atoning for their sins also.I scare myself cos this is so way o/t but please let me know what you think. And i ask again please don't laugh me off the board.all moo

I don't see basis basis for it.
I'm sure you'll get many takers on the IDI side because they'll latch on to any IDI theory no matter how little evidence there is for it. I'm sure the mysterious druid will be appealing for many IDIs.
For RDIs, well, there is no evidence at all that any of the Rs were druids.
Personally, I think it's a heart on her hand, not a V.

I don't see any connection JMO
While no two Druids will believe exactly the same way or worship the same gods, there are some commonalities.
* They can be monotheistic; some Druids say they are Christian, though this is not the norm.
* Some Druids are following a racist or nationalist agenda, but once again, this is not typical of the majority.
* Some are polytheistic (honoring one or more of the many ancient Celtic gods or heroes, including ancestor worship).
* They are usually animists, believing that everything in nature possesses a soul or spirit.
* They practice magic.
* Most celebrate the Solstices and Equinoxes as well as the festivals of Samhain, Imbolc, Beltane and Lugnasash.
* They revere nature, often becoming involved in efforts to sustain a balanced ecology.
* They honor their ancestors, whether the mighty dead or grandparents who deserve respect and special attention.
* Their sometimes tribal form of worship can revitalize the values of extended family and community.
Many have considered themselves to be Druid for years before even realizing that other people shared some of their beliefs.

Apart from in the warped perceptions of evangelical Christians who view anything remotely new age (including Druidry) as Satanic, there is little to connect the Satanism of the Order of St. Francis with the Druids except for the rather embarassing (for contemporary Druids) historical evidence that the ancient Druids practised human sacrifice, something Satanists are perennially accused of.

Is this an appropriate forum for the discussion of Christianity vs Druids vs New Age or Santanism? Getting back to discussion of the Murder of JonBenet regardless of religious matters.....

Wally, you must think the IDIs are pretty desparate. Please, give them some credit.

I am one who likes to do research on what I read. Irishlady posted her theory here without links but she believes it may have had something to do with being a Druid. I am one to read before coming to a conclusion; so I honestly don't see what the issue here is and really think your comments unnecessary.

Personally I am not offended and you are entitled to your opinion as the rest of us are. Open minds are a good thing!!! I certainly hope this does not discourage you from posting. :)

Irishlady, I certainly was not offended. I hope I didn't offend you. Some folks here think those who believe in the Ramseys' innocence are, well, not very smart. That's what Wally was implying. IMO.

Please I did not mean to offend you but I failed to see how stating what was said regards warped Evangelical Christians is applicable to the murder of Jonbenet. I took no offense as an Evangelical Christan who was labled as warped by you or the link one the other ....just didn't see how it applies. If you feel this murder was religious based then I'd think the beheading reference in the Ransom Note would provide an option to explore. I suppose I'll concede that having the bible open in their home and others feeling satanic cult ritual may have played a part in some opinion. I am not labeling any partiular religious belief. I guess I may have reacted to the labeling of warped. Sorry but the word warped in conjunction to Evangelical Christianity would offend a broad section of our society I think.

The statement is from the article and if you read the article you wil see that you are taking its meaning out of context.

Colorado.....
I do see now what you are referring to -- I'm assuming the very first sentence from that excerpt. What I actually did was just copy the last paragraph because it addressed the human sacrifice issue that IrishLady had eluded to and wasn't paying any attention to that particular sentence re: the "warped.........
So if that sentence offended you, I do apologize for copying it.

Well multitasker that I am between Instant Messaging with a friend and reading that and responding I read the link after responding..... As I say I meant no offense just at that particular moment on the clock.... Opened my mouth inserted my foot .....let my fingers do my talking when I should have the link first reacted later. If I had a dunce cap I'd put it on and give you 5 minutes in the corner.... Sorry ....never meant it to sound like it was against you personally or anything .
