from what I understand, he was arrest there under a sex charge and AFTER that arrest was questioned by US authorities. Just guessing here but if I had to face jail time in Thailand versus the US I would come back home. Especially if the jail time over there was gonna be long.

He wasn't under arrest there until the US asked them to arrest him and hold him. He started a new job teching the day before he was arrested.

It sure does seem that their piece is following the convoluted stories coming out of Thailand.

John Karr Already Fired when Arrested

At least we have learned one thing, the press in Thailand is just as lazy & innaccurate as the press in the US.

I couldn't agree more, that this was a FIASCO and a disgrace. What's more I would go so far as to guess it had to be a deliberate HOAX by the Boulder DA and it's investigators on the people of Boulder that they are supposed to represent, the people of the US and the whole world (given the international publicity the DA in fact sought).
Again I wonder WHY an ELECTED civilian lawyer, and non professional police investigators are or were put in charge of this investigation, instead of professional state or federal police?
What politics were involved? The whole state of Colorado at the time of the crme only had a population of 3 1/2 million, not even the population of a SMALL world class city for the whole large state. Is this to blame?
Since this case has for 10 years drawn national scrutiny, and international attention, and at least in some part involved an attempted or purported kidnapping, a federal crime, shouldn't, and wouldn't it be better if the REAL professionals were in charge.....the FBI? The Boulder PD had their shot, the Boulder elected DA had her shot, I believe even the govenor of CO had a shot, but none did any good. OK, lets go outside the state and call upon the LE of the whole US...the FBI......any takers?

I do understand that BLE had a wrong take on this from beginning. They really believed the kidnapping-story, so they didn't search the house in a proper manner.

No evidence seems to have been lost, though. Basically there was no evidence to be destroyed. Some blood in the underwear is still intact, but no one seems to know even where the underwear came from.

Mistake when it comes to the JMK-thing was that Lacy held this stupid press-conference. Seemed to me that she really thought they had found JBR's murderer.

As soon as the general public heard JMK's family state that he was with them chr. 96., we all knew it couldn't be him.

By that time media had taken over, and made the most of it.

I have not seen a lot of criticism of the media in this case. When are we going to be fed up with wasting time on "fake" news-reports? ("Man eat shrimp!")

Thank you to Marilyn Bardsley for that very insightful editorial, and I totally agree!

Now that John Mark Karr has become an internationally known person, I can only hope that doesn't taint the judicial process in Sonoma County CA, and have jurors deciding his fate based on Boulder County CO authorities suspicion of him being involved in JonBenet's murder, Michael Tracey's e-mails and Wendy Hutchens audio tapes.

"John Mark Karr was offered a plea deal Tuesday on child pornography charges that would free him on probation."

I had no idea our population numbers would serve to do anything but keep us from the higher crime rates of inner cities. I agree time to take this matter away from the hands of those who would not have the fortitude to at least take the matter to court. If you read Detective Thomas's book Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation it seems all but one Detective agreed where all the evidence pointed. You don't always have the luxury of a confession and even if they'd of had it Hunter would have pleaded it down to not much more than a misdemeanor. JMHO. Let the evidence speak and take it to a jury. The Grand jury never even interviewed John and Patsy Ramsey...how infuriating is that. Clear them or convict them. Don't Cold Case the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. JonBenet deserved more than our refusal to prosecute.
