San Diego Mayor Endorses 'Jessica's Law'
Law Would Crack Down On Sexual Predators

POSTED: 10:22 am PDT August 14, 2006

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced Monday his endorsement of "Jessica's Law," which would toughen the state's laws governing sexual offenders.

The measure, which will appear as Proposition 83 on the November ballot, is named after 9-year-old Jessica Marie Lunsford, who was taken from her Florida home in February 2005 and molested and killed by a sex offender.

Can you believe it? 70% of California voters voted for Prop 83, and a judge blocked it. Well hell, doesn't matter what the people want, and vote for. But wait a minute if it is deemed punitive by design and effect and likely unconsitutional for the offender, what about the children? Where are their rights?

Oh but we must not interfer with the sex offender's civil rights! What civil rights? The sex offender lost his rights when he/she sought out children to appease their appetites.

The Doe in question filed suit claiming that the law should not include him because he has paid his debt to society.

Too damn bad

:flamemad: I am absolutely in shock! We are going to put children in danger because "sex offenders" are not happy with this law!! I am beyond furious. This law passed by a landslide vote. How many more children have to be molested and murdered? There is "no doubt" that the rights of "predators" come before the rights of the children! Once again, I am in complete shock!:flamemad:
