Hello everyone,

I have a favor to ask - if any of you from the Richmond or Norfolk area happened to watch Perspectives on PBS Friday night - could you let me know what you thought? I haven't seen it and have no idea how the interview came across.

The sheriff from Warrenton called today to see if I would be interested in talking with one of the families that had a child killed at VA Tech - what a surprise and of course, I said that I would do whatever I could to help them.

My next community service is with George Mason University. They asked if I would speak at the parent's orientations. With honor, I accepted.

The next major project of mine is to broadcast nationwide information about specific missing children. So far, feedback has been positive. The format would show photos, videos, and provide as much info as possible. The children are out there and so are the people that have them. WIsh me luck and I am welcoming any comments and suggestions.

Love, peace and light to all,

Dorkette

PS. I am slowly going through Taylor's things and in one of her journals she wrote "my mother is such a dork but that's why I love her". Do you think she felt sorry for me because I am a dork?? ! !

Lol Janet, no, no, no....All teenagers, at some point, think that their parents are "dorks", no matter how young and "cool" you really are.

One's own parent's aren't supposed to be cool, throws off natures whole balance of things lol ...Did she feel "sorry for you?" No, she just loved you.

Good luck With the Missing Children Project. How cool do you think Taylor would think that was? She would be so proud.

Happy Mother's Day dear one. Hope to hear from you again soon

Love

Hi Janet!

I'm thinking of you today, and wishing you much success in your endeavors to help and comfort parents who are, or who have, shared your experience. After reading your book, "Love you More", my impression of Taylor is that she was a humanitarian, and as such, I believe she is very proud of your eagerness to help others.

I know today was probably bittersweet, as you recall past Mother's Days. I wish you a Happy Mother's Day for you were, and always will be, Taylor's Mom.

Dorkette, Vedder, TN, and others I've corresponded with over the past year.

You know, we all have bad days - nothing in comparison with what Janet experiences but when I come back to this site and chat with people I have a common bond with -- Vedder, TN, Angel, Paula, and all the others who have now left, it is nice to shift gears and go back to a purpose in life that is truly serious like Taylor -- versus work, which normally sucks big time.

TN - thanks for writing - I'll shoot you a pm after this.

Vedder - always stay in touch my friend.

It was so great to hear from all of you !

The Perspectives program was aired again today but I guess I am a few hours late - sorry.

I ran away on Saturday to a friend's place in Florida and enjoyed a day in the sun and reflecting. Taylor would be laughing because I have a complusion to clean when I am anxious - this condo has never been so clean ! I do hope she is proud of my efforts to prevent another child from being hurt and is smiling and hanging with Maxine and has the prettiest wings an angel can have.

Thanks for writing and don't stay away so long. Love to you all,
Dorkette

Hi Dorkette. Just wanted to say hello and let you know I was thinking about you last night. I was watching a college baseball game on TV and they showed a view of the crescent moon. Unfortunately the weather in the northeast is too overcast for us to enjoy it.

Anywho, it made me think of Taylor which then made me think of you.

Hello friends,

I haven't been posting because I forgot my password - duh!

A few updates:
1. My friend Charlotte Carson from VA Beach whose daughter was murdered and the case is still unsolved is in the hospital and isn't doing very well - please send your good toughts and prayers to her, her husband and son.
2. I have been invited to do an interview on internet radio on July 17th (time is uncertain at the moment). The program: "Missing Pieces is a program designed to raise public awareness and encourage communications of information between law enforcement and people who can help to locate and/or identify individuals in cases that have been classified as "Unsolved, Missing, Murdered & Unidentified."
http://www.missingpieces.info/
3. Later this month I will be speaking at the parent's orientation at George Mason University. They have been so supportive and I am honored that they asked me to speak to the parents.

The airing of the Court TV pilot is still up in the air but I will let you know when and if it airs.

That is it for now. Take care and be safe.

With love,
Dorkette

Thank you Paula and One2Snoop for letting me know you went to the website and for the positive feedback. For the speech today, I had them put the website on the huge screen behind me.

I would love to change some of the photos and get rid of the stickman.

Today was my 3rd speech at GMU and I made a survey for the parents to fill out and about 1/3 did and all was very positive. The speeches are hard to write and generally not too difficult to deliver but they sure are emotionally draining.

Keep your fingers crossed that Court TV will get around to airing their pilot program. I haven't seen it - hope they did a good job.

Hello !

Vedder you are right it has been too long since my last post. My time spent at the beach was just as peaceful and relaxing as expected and the perfect getaway. Hoping I get one more beach trip and am hoping it will be to my friend's condo in Florida. Every window in the 9th floor condo, you can see the ocean.

I have finished my parent orientation speeches at George Mason and am looking forward to speaking to the students at GMU and American University. My latest project was working with a magazine published in the UK called "Woman". The phone interview was 2 hours but the time went really fast. It will be interesting to see the slant they use. Of course they wanted photos but I didn't think they would send a photographer from up-state New York ! The editor said the photos taken of Taylor's photos came out really well. This magazine should hit their stands around 9/3.

Did any of you watch the re-airing of 48 Hours? I didn't realized how much this effected me. I couldn't figure out why I was so depressed and yes, in my bed for several days before it aired. Thank goodness for Harry Potter ! I spent all weekend watching Harry save the day again and again and again. A couple times I flicked the channel to 48 Hours but it made me sick seeing that piece of ****. On the brighter and more positive side...

Several months ago I did an interview with PBS's program Perspectives and it aired for the 3rd time a few weeks ago only in the Richmond and Charlottesville areas. A viewer (whom I have never talked to or met) sent the nicest email and she granted me permission to share it with you.

Ms. Pelasara
I saw you on PBS this afternoon and was struck with how absolutely strong and articulate you were as a speaker. At the time when Taylor was missing I was living in Richmond and through your fight to get Taylor's name out, I remember how everybody including my family and friends was talking about it. You are an inspiration to those struck with great tragedy to be proactive and strong. I hope you know how much I and all my friends felt for your great loss. We have all been young and thought we were invincible- all of us could have been your daughter. She seems like a truly remarkable young woman. Thank you so much for your great contribution and the work you are doing now. As a former high school teacher I recognize that you may not know how many lives you save and young minds you shape, but please know your work is so important.
Thank you,
Mrs. Rachael Gosdin

Thank you and congratulations on your upcoming wedding !

There are several important dates coming up and as Vedder wrote in her message, it will be 2 years on 9/5 that my baby went missing. During the latter part of September there will be a National Day of Rememberance (in DC) where the Parents of Murdered Children will unveil their "wall". The wall lists children who have been murdered. I will give more info as I get it.

I will be updating Friends of Taylor's website soon. A request was made to show photos with Taylor and me.

I had the pleasure of spending an evening with my dear friends the Carson's last week. Bill and Charlotte are the parents of Shellie who was murdered 2 years ago this week but her case has never been solved and the police aren't and haven't been very helpful to them. Please send your love and a prayer to Charlotte, she is having another round of chemo for her stage 4 cancer.

Bless you all and hope to hear from you soon,

I just realized the other day that it has been a year - Aug 8 or 9 (?) that the scumbag was sentenced in Mathews. I hope it has been an incredible year of misery for that piece of filth - the murderer.

In watching 48 Hours the second time around, I think I was really hoping that Erin is ok. Janet is always in my prayers; but for Erin, I hope she and her family are ok. A very brave and lucky girl.

Glad to hear your job is going well. Did you get rid of those tickets for Saturday?

Erin is doing fine. She moved to Boston and has probably graduated by now. As far as the rest of her family, her father sent me an email telling me he had had a stroke at the beginning of July. Please send prayers and healing thoughts his way.

The woman that is geeting married is the woman that sent the kind email which I put in the previous posting.

I have some bittersweet news to share: I had to have Taylor's cat, Spot put down yesterday. I went into Taylor's room to find a small stuffed animal to put in with Spot and find one with an angel pin Taylor had put in it's ear. So, now Taylor and Spot are together again.

Taylor is constantly on my mind. Each day when I go to work, I am almost next door to where she laid her head at night. I frequently meet friends at Jammin' Java and think about her. Taylor's disappearance was on my daughter's birthday - and possibly the day he actually took her life although I suspect it was after midnight and actually the sixth of September. I do think of Taylor all the time. Remembering that smile.

My prayers remain with Taylor's friends and most especially her family. I know for many, the sadness never ends. :rose:

I have a huge favor to ask - if there is anyone is in the UK on Sept 4th, please pick up a copy of Woman magazine. There is an article in it about Taylor. And if you could email me with what it says, I would be so grateful.

Since we will never know when the scumbag killed Taylor and since the 5th Sept was the last time I saw her alive - that's the day she died to me and that is what is on her headstone.

I was arranging the jewelry in my jewelry box this evening and made sure I had my pretty pink "T" necklace laid out for this week. I wear it interchangeably with my other jewelry but make sure to wear it especially on Taylor days - sad and happy. Sadly, those days are coming up.

Yes, I sold the Redskins tickets for last week but felt horrible that the people I sold to had to endure those lightning storms with a delayed and shortened game! How crazy was that!

Hello everyone, :seeya:

Many encouraging projects are coming this way and I am hopeful they will provide a positive impact.

On Oct 2 & 4 I will be at GMU to support the Clothesline Project for prevention of Violence Against Women.

I am really very excited about speaking to the students at Park View High School. There is a chance I will be getting together with the Warrenton County transitional housing to talk to the young women living there.

Oct 5th is a golf tournament in support of the INNOVA NICU at Westpark in Leesburg. Denny Petrella of Cheers Sports is the organizer. He and his wife delivered a preemie and wanted show their appreciation. A dear friend of mine also delivered a preemie at INNOVA and to show my support, Friends of Taylor, Inc. is sponsoring a tee.

Last week was the unveiling of the homicide Murder Wall - I went but once the politicians started speaking I had to leave. Word has it and I quote "The speeches by the legislators went on and on, with them patting themselves on the back. NO MENTION WAS MADE OF ANY OF THE VICTIMS AND SURVIVORS IN THE AUDIENCE. NO MENTION OF THE LOVED ONES, BY NAME AT ALL."

Verizon's PR firm has contacted me to help educate the public - especially the high school and college kids.

The UK magazine came out with their article and as soon as I can get it up on Taylor's site - I will let you know. It is different and a few errors.

I was recently asked if I found any comfort or closure in the 30 year sentence given to Taylor’s killer. The answer is no. No amount of time will bring her back nor take away the horrifying night he put her through. Also, there is no comfort for me while he is in protective custody. A smile will come when he is no longer protected.

Another question asked was if the investigators ever found out where Taylor’s car was before it was parked where they found it. To my knowledge, no.

As usual during these tough days and weeks ahead, I am running away to the ocean for there I find an inner calmness, comfort and closeness to my baby girl.

Much love,
Dorkette

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY PRECIOUS ONE
Today, Taylor, my Angel-Fairy is 2 years gone.

Actually, I believe I am incorrect in my statement above.

She is not “MY Angel-Fairy”. Her spirit lives within all of us – family, friends old & new, near & far & all of you who have been here for the last 2+ years & those who are new & those have posted & ran. Each of you have given/made & continue to make a difference with your prayers, kind words...She has become “Our” Angel-Fairy.

What did my Taylor give to each of you? For me, that is one of the toughest questions to answer but I am pretty sure I know my answer - now.

She touched so many hearts & brought out the goodness in so many people throughout the world. Ok, some were not so good and they are getting theirs - I just know it. Whether it is serving 30 years or just feeling guilty! Yes, my grief has moved slightly from numbness to anger. I am told that is a good thing.

WE LOVE YOU MORE (still & forever), MISS YOU MORE (selfishly) THAN MOST CAN EVER IMAGINE. WE BELIEVE IN OUR HEART & SOUL YOU ARE SAFE & AFRAID NO MORE. YOU ARE HELPING OTHERS, HERE & THERE TO LEARN THE TRUTHS ABOUT THEMSELVES, THEIR FRIENDS & WHOM ONE CAN REALLY TRUST.

If you get a chance, go to www.friendsoftaylor.com

Love, gentle and true,
Dorkette

Thanks Matt for the pictures of Taylor, they were beautiful, especially her teenage years. I LOVE her graduation and senior picture. She looks amazing in those pictures.

And Janet, your post was lovely too. I hope Ben gets what he did to Taylor and more. I also hope that your doing better.

And to Taylor: HAPPY BELATED 20th BIRTHDAY!!!!! Sorry, I would have posted it on the 13th, but I was out of town. I'm sorry you never got to celebrate your 20th birthday or become an adult. I wonder what you would being doing today if it never happened. I hope your doing well and know you always have someone thinking of you.

On the occasion of Taylor’s 20th birthday I want to share some family pictures with all of you. Included among the birthday pictures are Taylor’s 1st Birthday, some of the "un-Birthdays" we celebrated during her summer visits while she was living in Europe, and her sweet sixteenth. I hope you will enjoy these as they bring back many sweet memories of her.

I will be driving from Phoenix to Pawley's Island in a U-Haul for my brother and will be stopping in Tucson, Belen, NM; Albuquerque, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta then ending up at Pawley's Island. If anyone lives close to those places and would like to meet up - I would love to put a face with a posting. Just email me and we can try and make it happen. My journey starts the end of November. I have never been to that part of this country and am very excited. I am hoping to see a tumbling tumble weed.

Bye for now, take care and as always much love,
Dorkette

O no way! I would love to meet up with you, but I like in San Jose (which is near San Francisco, so if your ever in the area......) I went on a road trip from Dallas to Mount Holyoke, Mass. during this pass summer. I've never been to the south before that and it was beautiful. I loved going visiting New Orleans (and be sure to try Cajun food, I LOVE it) and drinking sweet tea ( I was ADDICTED) to it. I've always wanted to go to New Mexico because it looks so gorgeous and visit the Indian reserves (make sure to get some turquoise jewellery. Anyways, have a fun and safe trip.

With the closing of the boards, I wanted to pop in and post some thoughts.

Janet, you ask in one of your posts above what we have all learned from the loss of Taylor.

It's hard to come to grips with such a senseless loss, I have to say that what I have learned most about the loss is I had the opportunity to learn about a beautiful girl - Taylor. If not for the loss, I wouldn't have her in my mind and heart.

As for what I learned over the year of posting at CTV and here about Taylor's case? I learned a lot:

* Take with a grain of salt what you read.

* If it sounds crazy, it probably is.

* Lunatics abound on message boards.

* There are people out there who will do ANYTHING for their 15 minutes of fame.

* Do not follow blindly.

* Own up to your mistakes. Make that phone call and say you are sorry.

* There are some pretty amazing and good-hearted people, who truly care.

Janet - you have my continued admiration, and my heartfelt good wishes for a healthy and happy long life, until you meet your precious baby girl once again. I know she's with you everyday, sitting on your shoulder - I think the renewed sense of strength you are feeling is due to her spirit inside of you.

Taylor DOES live on, in the hearts and minds of each of us and the many people who witnessed for her.

I'll NEVER forget her.

:rose: beautiful Taylor Marie Behl :)

When and why are the boards closing???

Did any of you watch MyCase.com ? I held my opinion until I talked to the investigators, FBI and the computer expert on Taylor's case. The show slant, I was told would be on how computers can help solve a crime. Yes, computers were used to help solve Taylor's murder. However, it was not due to Steve Huff as this show lead one to believe. Only one of the people involved in Taylor's case had ever heard of Steve.

So, my opinion of Court TV's show is: it was total crap and I am sorry I chose to be a part of it.

Love to hear any of your opinions on the show.

My prayers and love to all,

Sorry, I didn't see it and now I'm glad I didn't - lol. I have no doubt that you held your own, Dorkette, and bringing up Steve Huff is interesting. I do remember that Steve Huff appeared on MSNBC and maybe others, discussing the case against Ben Fawley, but as far as I know (and I followed Huff and the news on Taylor from the beginning), the police already had all the stuff on Ben Fawley's computers before Steve Huff discussed it in his blog. I know this because I called the police right away as soon as I read Steve's blog. They assured me that they already had the info, in fact the investigator I spoke with gave me a bit of info that had not made the news (nor Steve Huff's blog yet, lol) but that quieted my fears re: Fawley getting away with this.

From what I rmember, it was Erin going through the pics that helped find Taylor.

And the police had those pics before Huff did.

No wonder you got irritated by the show, Dorkette. Courttv is closing down at the end of this month, from what I gather, I believe it was sold to CNN and CNN is renaming it TruTV. Not as much trial stuff and I think more human interest stuff.

(CrimeLibrary is closing - I expect Freshwater will be making an announcement here in this thread re: the opening of another board the FW will admin - sounds exciting but of course sad to see the end of CrimeLibrary. CTV is also most likely closing down at around the same time).

Janet from what i have been able to find about the board closing is as of Jan 1 there will no longer be CourtTV it is changing to TruTV so i guess that is when the boards will be closed. I also read that CNN will start covering the live trials so I am hoping that they will also have a message board maybe everyone will continue to post over there.

I missed the show you are referring too but it sounds like I didn't miss much. I sorry you were let down.

HAPPY HOLIDAY ! ! :seeya:

This will most likely be my last posting since the boards are going away. I will still update www.friendsoftaylor.com, so please drop by. If you wish to send an email it is: jpelasara@aol.com and I would love to hear from any of you.

I recieved this info from a friend: I know you were a concerned about the whole court tv crime library going away so I ran a bit of research earlier. I know you already know the message boards are going away, however, according to their press release in November (I know...I'm gullible), they are keeping the actual crime library case content. Supposedly, it's just going to be moved to a new cnn.com/whatever site. The press release is here: http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/ca6500898.html

I will never be able to truly express my gratefulness to each and everyone of you for your interest, thoughts, prayers and encouragement. I have (I think) started adjusting to my "new normal life" without my baby girl. I went off the antidepressants and can actually feel now. And what a great feeling that is ! I do still have my tough days and as you can imagine this time of year is very difficult but I am trying my best.

Bless you, love you and again thank you,

Janet,
It was great to hear from you.

I've had tech issues and lost all my bookmarks but today I googled "Roses for Taylor" and I found the page again. I love the pictures at "Friends of Taylor" and Matt's pictures, too. They show the many sides of Taylor and she was so photogenic. (Sp?)

I read all the posts since I last logged on and I saw the question that someone asked you about Taylor's car and where it was during those two weeks before it was found. I too think that it is important to know where it was b/c I truly believe that the ******* may have hidden other things of Taylor's that were never recovered. Maybe even in some other hiding place like a shed or the basement/crawl space at that house.

I want so much for the Richmond police to find other charges (ie:theft, burglary and arson...whatever they can prove he did) to follow up on so that he will stay in prison for the rest of his sorry life. I honestly believe that if they can find out where he stored the car that they might find evidence of other crimes that they could charge him with. It still amazes me that he wasn't charged with abduction, robbery, grand larceny, and the like as it pertained to Taylor. Maybe that was part of the plea bargain. I also wonder if he served any time for the breaking and entering at Erin's apartment? Well enough about that sorry sack of sh!t.

Here's to Taylor's bright energy keeping you and her family and friends warm and filled with love.

All the Best,
Miss A (Bruce's friend AKA "K" at Rhiel World View)

I just received some interesting news concerning the piece of *uck serving 30 years. The news is: he is no longer in protective custody. The piece of *uck has been moved to "soft" protection. Not exactly what I want for him but it is a start. Also, after receiving a very disturbing email from a concerned mother, I asked if the piece of *uck had access to the internet and I was told he does not.

Hope you all are healthy and happy. Things at this end are good.

I continue to believe that some detective will dig into other evidence into other crimes that can be levied against the creep. There is something there to be found. He cannot ever get out and ever have access to any computers! If that happens...we must start a petition or a bill to prevent convicted felons (who are guilty of murder and or sex crimes) from access to any internet activity...at the very least while they are incarcerated.

Hello out there.....been away for awhile...:o

I have a bad habit of falling asleep with the tv on. The other night I awoke in the middle of the night (2-3 am ??) and there was a new (I'd never seen it before) tv show on that had an episode involving the Richmond police department and Captain John Venuti was interviewed about the case they were working on. If you don't know who he is, he was a key LE in Taylor's case.

Yes, that is a very good show. It gives a realistic prospective on how a crime is investigated. That arson/murder occurred in August 2007. My daughter was dropping off a clothes donation to the Daily Planet and saw all the forensic personnel and vehicles. The building was right near the VCU dorms and across the street from her friend's apartment. Actually, the surveillance camera footage came from the friend's apartment building camera. It really brings it all home when you can landmark everything. The police in Richmond are doing amazing work but it is still a very scary place for young women and men.

Just two weeks ago another VCU student was murdered...after giving his keys freely to a carjacker the teenage criminal decided to shot the young guy in the back as he and his girlfriend were walking away and out of Byrd Park.

This week's show is also highlighting the Richmond Police.

Hello everyone !

I am still here and still check in - thanks for asking. My spring is great.

Capt Venuti called me yesterday to discuss a workshop we are conducting at a 3 day seminar for campus police at George Mason University. They are using Taylor's case as their study case and several of the investigators and I will be speaking about lessons learned and my experience or should I say ordeal.

Today is the Fairfax County's Victim's Rights Week kick-off at the Fairfax Government Center. Starts at 3pm and they have several speakers and awards to present. Last year I spoke and was presented an award and this year I am going to show my support.

Hello,
How is everyone? I am doing ok.
Busy again this summer with speeches at George Mason's parent orientations.

Yesterday I was surprised by a call from Court TV asking me to do a phone in interview regarding the Michelle Gardner-Quinn case. I told them that after they burned me with that show MyCase.com, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do anything with them.

But it was a different show, different people. We talked about the similarities between Michelle's and Taylor's murders. The oddest fact is she was killed on my birthday and found on Taylor's.

Just a few minutes ago I was notified by the Message Board telling me that someone had tried 5 times to log on to this account ! Their IP address is: 212.143.129.221. If anyone knows how to find out who this person is by using their IP address - I would be very interested.

After I posted that I sent an email to a "computer guy" and this was his response (he also sent the info you sent) and said that many people were hit.

"I have the host info now(See bottom), it's located in Ramat(as in Israel) so there's probably not much you can do except send a message to their support email address and ask for help. They may help, they may not. If they help, they'll probably just cancel the account of whoever it is that they're selling their internet service to that's hitting you. I'll go ahead and send them an email myself this evening with the info I already have and see if they're willing to help kill the buggers accounts."

Thanks for your help.

regarding the tv show about that other girl..

while I understand you felt burned by them doing taylor's story differently than you thought it would be, Did they try to persuade you that this was a way for you to "help" others by advocating you to bring the other girl's story to the media the way you did for your daughter?

You do not know this girl, naturally, does it bother you when people ask you how you took charge and hassled the media until Taylor was found and if that would work for other parents as well?

I own a copy of your book, and the way you spoke regarding the media, I thought it quite natural for parents to want to take charge to find their children right away instead of waiting for somebody to ask around about what may have been or what may have not been.

This message board is the only one I've seen that discusses taylor.. Is there any other? I am interested in reading more about her.

Hope you are well.

Dear Vedder,

Good to hear from you too bad it has to do with the "news". When the reporter called me to get my comment, I thought I was going to vomit. I had not heard about this until that phone call.

I have been told by the prosecutors that there is no way this motion will go anywhere - it will be denied. 99% of these cases are denied.

It is still upsetting, especially this time of year. However, I am in Wyoming visiting my boyfriend and he is a pillar of strength.

Hi Vedder and Janet! :seeya:

My mom called me yesterday to tell me this was on the news on Thursday.

Here's an article from the Richmond Times Dispatch.

By MARK BOWES
TIMES-DISPATCH STAFF WRITER
A Richmond lawyer has filed a petition seeking to vacate the second-degree murder conviction of Benjamin Fawley in the 2006 asphyxiation slaying of Virginia Commonwealth University freshman Taylor Marie Behl.

The 10-page writ of habeas corpus filed in Mathews County Circuit Court alleges that Fawley was not of sound mind when he entered his guilty plea and that he did so on the "errant, misguided and ill-conceived advice" of his court-appointed attorney, William E. Johnson.

Richmond attorney Hayden Fisher filed petition earlier this month, which is primarily based on the representations of Richmond psychiatrist Merritt W. Foster Jr., who "visited extensively" with Fawley before his August 2006 conviction and made observations about his mental state.

In the petition, Foster claims that Fawley is not guilty of murder and suffered from mental and emotional health disorders "rendering him unfit for trial."

"The tragic accidental death of Taylor Behl arose from Behl's and Fawley's amateur attempt at a high-risk sexual practice (erotic asphyxiation) that resulted in the tragic loss of life by one party . . . , and because of Johnson's ineffective assistance of counsel, the tragic loss of a lifetime of liberty by the other," Fisher writes in the petition.

The petition principally blames Johnson, who co-represented Fawley with the help of Richmond attorney Christopher J. Collins, for what it claims was a "miscarriage of justice." The petition says Johnson terminated Foster's services without consulting him and refused to allow Foster to have any further contact with him.

Efforts to reach Johnson today were unsuccessful. An assistant said he was in court this morning.

Richmond Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Christopher Bullard, who helped prosecute Fawley with Mathews County Commonwealth's Attorney Jack Gill, downplayed the significance of Fawley's petition. "Most habeas corpus petitions are denied, right off the top," Bullard said.

Bullard, who hasn't read the petition but was briefed on its substance by Gill, said the psychiatrist's assertions "would not have changed the evidence" implicating Fawley.

"I don't know . . . what this guy could have supposedly done for Fawley," Bullard said. "You'd almost have to be alleging that this guy was going to be a miracle worker to pull [Fawley's] bacon out of the fire in this case."

"I don't want to comment on Mr. Foster," Bullard added, "but experts get paid and they claim to be able to do those types of things."

Fawley was sentenced to 30 years behind bars after entering an Alford plea in Behl's death, which meant he did not admit culpability but acknowledged the evidence against him would likely result in his conviction. An Alford plea is tantamount to pleading guilty.

After his trial, Johnson said his client continued to maintain that Behl's death was an accident.

In a statement to police, Fawley said Behl wanted him to tie her up and put a bag over his head in an act of erotic asphyxiation. Fawley told police that when he got squeamish about the act, Behl berated him and called him a wimp.

Soon after, Fawley told police that he "flipped out," which prosecutors said prompted Fawley to kill Behl in a twisted, near-psychotic frenzy of sex and violence that played out off a dirt road near the Mathews public beach.

Her body was found about a month later in a ravine near a dirt road, wrapped in a plastic tarp with duct tape.

Janet,
I was sick over hearing this news and this weekend, on top of it. I hope that you are managing and I am so happy that you are with someone who is important to you.

My daughter studied criminal justice and statistics show that a very small percentage of insanity pleas are successful. Perhaps this is also true of this such petition. It is very hard to prove "not of sound of mind".

The important thing here is that he was of sound mind when he committed the crime. I am certain of this from all the evidence, the video footage outside the GRC, his fake abduction report, buying gas, probably going back to Mathews to hide her, coming home and calling UPS (or some shipping company about his order, business as usual), throwing Taylor's cell phone out of the car near RI airport, handing out fliers, participating in news interviews, updating his many blogs, berating Erin on those same blogs, parking Taylor's car in the Fan, and waiting to confess until detectives, with Erin, found Taylor. He seemed quite aware in his letters to Katie H, as well. God Forbid, they give him a new trial. But maybe there will be no deals this time around.

Dorkette

Well hello there !

Yes, it should not move forward. There is a 1% chance of it going anywhere.

I was sickened too. Especially when it was a reporter who told me. I was on the phone calling the prosecutor to find out more. He was very reassuring.

So, now we wait for the response and pray to God that it ends there.

Take care.

To all Taylor's friends those that haven't lost interest and to all those that give me encouragement and their undying love. Bless you all.

Thank you Celilia for your sweet and much appreciated wishes and thoughts.

I miss her so and just can't understand why she isn't here to celebrate one of her milestone birthdays. Her bestfriend and I are going to have a shot in her honor.

FYI - 48 Hours is airing on the WE channel on 14th at 4pm and several times during this week.

Love and light to all,

Sadly, on the occasion of Taylor’s 21st birthday someone has chosen to dishonor her memory by removing pictures of her from a wreath placed at her grave. It is unconscionable to think that even a parents’ memory of his daughter is not sacred. I am reposting the link to some of the family pictures of Taylor which include many happier birthdays. Please feel free to download them if you wish.

Happy 21st tails.

Love,
DAD

Mr. Behl,

Thank you for sharing all those pictures with us. I have said it before, I will say it again. The kid could not have been any more adorable.

The one pic where she is wearing the Mickey Mouse shirt with a giant smile on her face, just cracks me up...

Again, thank you.

Mr Behl, sir...deepest sympathies on your daughters 21st birthday

Judge Shaw will hear arguments on Novemember 17th in Matthews County regarding the motions filed by the piece of slime and his representatives.

Need all the prayers and good thoughts you have to get through this hearing.

Bless you,

Friend of BW - thank you for the beautiful birthday posting !

Well, it is apparent I didn't use spellcheck and can't spell November! I guess it shows how anxious I am about the upcoming arguments.

I was told there would be no decision that day which I am not happy about. Everyone has said the request won't go anywhere. However, even a 1% chance is more than I like. If you think about it, statistically Taylor shouldn't have died. I still have faith.

What bugged me about the letter from the AG's office is they asked if I was coming to hear the arguments - in bold letters. To me this means the piece of f*ck will be there. I will be there and if anyone wants to join me - please feel free to come to Matthews on Nov 17th at 12:30.

One2Snoop, sorry I gave the thanks to a different person for your beautiful birthday wish/posting for Taylor's 21st birthday. Send me a PM telling me how you did that, please.

If you have any questions or comments that you prefer not to be public, my email address is: jpelasara@aol.com.

Have a great weekend !

Love to all,

Matt - I can not believe someone would have removed her pictures - and for what reason? It is a disappointment that someone didn't have enough respect for human lives and for the memories of such a beautiful young woman. Taylor's pictures is still on my screensaver. I'm not sure I will EVER remove it even though I update my photos every few months.

I think of you all often and you all remain in my prayers.

Friend of BW - thank you for the beautiful birthday posting !

I thought this had all been thrown out. I hadn't heard word of it since it first became news. All the reports didn't seem to think of it too seriously so I'm surprised to hear it's going to court. All in Mathews County again.

I'm sorry you're all having to go through this again.

Hello,

In 24 hours the arguments will be almost over. I was told this morning by the AG that there could very well be a decision made from the bench tomorrow. If not then, the turn around time should be short.

I was also told this could be only the first of two hearings. The other hearing that could take place concerning the first motion sent to the Supreme Court which would most likely be heard (if at all) again in Mathews.

Love to all,

This is the man that held up Taylor's investigation for the first 10 days she was missing. Is the enough room at Keen Mountain for one more piece of sh*t?

"Virginia Commonwealth University Police Chief Willie B. Fuller has been arrested in an online sting operation in Chesterfield County and charged with soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl, police said today.

Police said Fuller, 50, was arrested last night at his home in the 9000 block of Meadowfield Court in Henrico County. He was charged with using a computer to solicit sex from a minor and attempted indecent liberties with a minor.

His arrest resulted from a sting operation that involved undercover detectives going to online chatrooms or other Internet sites popular with juveniles. The detectives then create fictitious posts and pose as minors."

:cuss: Holy Sh!t!!!
Janet, do you remember that I heard from my sister about a missing student on the Wednesday, 9/7/05, after Taylor went missing. I heard from my sister, who lived in NC. She knew because my nephew's cousin called him and my nephew then called my sister who in turn called me. The cousin's wife, who worked with you, supposedly accompanied you down to VCU. I called my daughter who said that the students had not even been made aware of this but that her ex roommate, an RA for the GRC, had been told but was also instructed not to say anything to the dorm residents until they were told to do so. I checked all day Wednesday and then that Thursday for a VCU Alert...nothing. So at 8:30 PM on Thursday Sept. 8th, 2005, I emailed both the Richmond Police and VCU Campus Police. By 10:00 PM my daughter called me to say that it was finally being reported on the 10:00 News in Richmond. I DID NOT hear from VCU police in any way shape or form for TEN DAYS. The Richmond City Police, Capt David L Martin called me at noon the day after my email (9/09/05). The Captain spoke to me for about 40 minutes. Ten Days later, I finally got an email from Lt Welch at VCU Campus Police.

Fuller, that fat bast*rd. If he is found guilty, may he rot in hell.

That entire community is sinking lower and lower. Your story is incredible and to have to wait that long for a response is just stupid. I am having a hard time finding words because I am biting my tongue to keep from being kicked off the board.

When the news broke, Channel 6 called and wanted to do a phone interview with me. But when she finished saying how sorry she was because she knew how closely he worked with me (choke choke) and I told her how he was not one of my favorite people and how he had held up Taylor's investigation for 10 days - she did not call back for the interview. I guess they didn't want more negative responses only shock and aww what a disappointment. Hope he ends up with Fawley.

Speaking of that trash, I was just informed that he has been moved from Keen Mountain (level 4) to Powhatan (level 3).

I am in Ft Lauderdale acting as nurse for my boyfriend who has been diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic & liver cancer. Please send a prayer this way.

Love to all,
Dorkette

Hello everyone, :seeya:

I put out my feelers to find out more about the piece of sh*t's new home and here is the response I received:

"Fawley has been transferred out of state under “interstate compact” with the New Mexico Department of Corrections to serve his sentence. Va Dept of Corrections has these agreements with many states throughout the nation. Fawley’s transfer is not out of the ordinary.

Fawley went from Keen Mt thru Powhatan and is either en-route to, or already in his new home. New Mexico department of Corrections. I know your next question; and I would guess that it is harder being in a State prison system when you are not from that state. I.e.. Fawley from Virginia locked up in New Mexico-harder than Va. Prison."

Keep your fingers crossed that it is harder in New Mexico.

Love to all,
Dorkette

Even though it's been nearly two years since I posted on this thread (wow, time goes by) and I still think of Taylor. And especially on this day, where four years have already passed! My heart goes out to you, Janet. I still think of the pain you have and are suffering from all this (and my heart just breaks for you). I read about Mike and I can't believe all the loss you have had to go through.

Taylor: I still wish you were here and that you never meet Fawley. I never knew you, but I have read a lot about you and I can't help but wish I did. I hope you are at peace and one day we will meet =). I wish you got the opportunity to live your life and figure out the adult you would become. You will always be missed!

And I will try to be back and post on your B-DAY!

Hello forever friends,

Yes, 4 years and I still think she is going to walk through the door any minute with her college diploma. Taylor would be sporting that heart melting smile and her eyes would be as bright as the light she brought into all of our lives.

I miss her smile and her laugh and her hugs. Damn you Fawley, damn you.

As heartbreaking as yesterday was more news was dropped on me from the Attorney General's Office. Seems Fawley is filing another petition to have his sentence dismissed. I wasn't able to read the entire letter/package since I am living in Florida now and a dear friend was reading the major points. Once I realized what he was up to my tears started to flow again and whatever else she told me I don't remember. The ******* just needs to come to grips with the fact he is never getting out and should enjoy his new home in New Mexico.

Love and peace to you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Dear Janet,
I was at Starbucks on Saturday and I ran into my nephew's cousin's wife. She is wife to the cousin who called my nephew, September 2005) to make sure that we checked up on my girl. Anyway, I was trying to keep my doggy from barking so that I could get a cup of coffee when M. recognized me. We were talking and it occurred to me that it was September 5th. We were catching up and somehow your name came up. As I walked home I was thinking of Taylor. All weekend, she kept popping into my mind. Then today, I decided to visit this page.

I so hope that being in Florida brings you some joy. I know that Vienna was just too small and the constant reminders must have been both a blessing and a curse. I wish you and yours all good things.

To Taylor: Your star burns brightly and forever...
