Prison is meant to be for punishment or in some cases to rehab inmates not have them enjoy themselves so much they don't want to leave! Some prisons have gym equipment and cable TV and AC, some inmates get private cells like Pam Smart and that skank can even cook her own meals and pretty much has the run of the prison. You New Yorkers paid for her to receive three college degrees she will never use and she can have trailer visits with her family about 4 times a year so this does not sound like she is doing hard time does it?? Now some bleeder would say that because she will never leave prison that she is entitled to the best possible life one can have behind bars, but you ask the Smart family how they feel. They can't visit with their boy in the flesh, they have to go to a grave site, they can't hug him or cook him a holiday meal, Mr Smart does not have the pleasure of bouncing Gregg's children on his knee and it galls me every time Mrs Wojas whines to the media that her daughter lives a life of despair???

That stupid woman lives in forever denial and I just wish for her sake and the fact that no one cares about Pam, that she would wake up and fact the fact that her daughter enticed a 15 year old boy with sex and rock and roll and had him do her dirty work and this is why she sits in prison for the rest of her life. Every time a new official is elected in NH like a senator or a governor, she makes a beeline for the statehouse and whines that her daughter is as innocent as a lamb and she wants her to get clemency or a pardon because she feels that Pam did not get a fair trial and that the media convicted her before the jury did and what a pile of crap, her daughter brought it all on herself and she refuses to see this and she will go to her grave in deep denial as since her daughter's conviction, not one senator or governor has even gave her a passing glance. The current Gov, Lynch, she hit on him in 2003, because at that time, some guard took some racy photos of Pam and allegedly sexually assaulted her and the prison put her in the hole while the allegations were investigated and he was fired but that was the only action taken because he claimed the sex was consensual and that she had seduced him and who would you believe??? And agreed to the pictures?? Now she did not look happy happy in them, but she was posed in a nightie and a shorty short outfit and he claims that she seduced him for extra stuff and I buy that. This woman is a cold calculating b!tch. Gov Lynch denied her clemency or a pardon saying that nothing over the years had come about that anyone else planned the murder of Gregg Smart and that the trigger man admitted to it and so did the others, they passed polygraphs that indicated that she was the mastermind and they have the tapes between her and Cecilia Pierce where she tells her to keep her mouth shut or they all would go to the slammer???

Now for this scumbag!! Galls me that he gets to visit with his blushing whack-job wife, he can bask in the CA sunshine and his sorry ass has been on DR for 25 years!!! And no end in sight yet for his appeals to exhaust!! He has a private cell, cable TV, three hots and a cot and can exercise in the yard and can hang with other dirtbags like Richard Allen Davis. He can have a phone at his disposal and mail service and can attend events and this scumbag murdered and raped 14 people including a SIX YEAR OLD BOY!!! He is living better than some poor law-abiding people!! And LIVE being the oppertive word!!!!! He is alive and 14 innocent people aren't because of this warped POS and his wifey makes me hurl!! When she married him, she tells the press that "SHE IS PROUD TO BE RICHARD'S WIFE" Like he is a famous movie star or hero??? I personally dont understand why anyone idolises someone who caused so much heart ache and put people's lives in jeapordy . I think people in general ( and i would be lying if i said I wasnt ) are fascinated by serial killers because it's so unreal in a way , almost like a figure from a terrible horror movie ...ACCEPT IT'S A REAL PERSON . 2 of my cousins died the eldest committed suicide after his kid brother died of a brain tumour ( my uncle and ex aunty lost both their kids and divorced consequently ) . I was 12 years old when i heard the news of my cousin who shot himself and all I can remember was feeling total anger towards him for doing it and then later on the pain settled in very gradually. So really to all the GROUPEES out there , imagine how hard that would feel if someone wiped out loved ones from your family . You couldnt because it hasnt happend but if it ever did , believe me you would feel the same as all those other poor families would and that lasts FOREVER .

Theres also something very important I have to say to all these young girls who really have no idea what they are doing and think they are writing to a hero or some kind . Its a key thing , I have noticed a lot of girls say he asks more questions then answers theirs . This is a thing I came across with most men in general ... . Men that ask more questions and speak less really about themselves , are doing it because they like to feel they possess POWER and CONTROL over you !

Anyone know why his wife got banned from here ? and do u think its really her ??? . I could deffintly not ever fall for someone in prison especially a murderer . I don't remember the post or the poster, but there are several posts which stated that Doreen was banned. I must say, she hasn't posted for some time, maybe she has said all she wants to for the time, or is busy doing other things. ;) I did look her up, and she is still listed as member, with 14 posts since joining in Dec '06.

When you travel you meet so many different kinds of people and as you get older you begin to realise why certain people are who they are or the next person or persons you meet you can figure alot out because they show the same traits . Oh Taboo she probably will not respond but read her past posts so you can see what she is like. She may disagree with you but that is okay. It was both very immature and I think kind of disrespectful to RR aswell . She was like I sent a letter off and got a reply back now i dont know what to do and goes on about how she wont but then contradicts her self saying she probably will . Can someone please explain the whole process roughly of death row and execution . I am British . We dont have that here . I think its very strange that some people are on death row so very long and then executed after a ridiculous amount of time ? Is this because the amount of years they are in prison is meant to give them too much time to have to reflect on what they did? In China execution is a big problem there are so many orphans because the government simply takes everything into their own hands right away . It can simply be the just a thief maybe and fair enough every convict needs to be punished .Theres a documentary about it on you tube its heart braking these kids have no home and so live in an orphanage which lives in donations by supporters from outside China mainly I think . The government has nothing to do with it what so ever .

I was a tour guide in London for a short amount of time it was great fun ! I had to tell all the groups about the local history . The executions were mostly performed at The Tower Of London and after which a parade would usually be performed where the head was stuck on a pike and it would later on stand outside the houses of parliment .I could be wrong but that deffintly did happen with Oliver Cromwell . For all your americans who dont know who he was . He was the first self appointed prime minister . He appointed himself the role because the former King had died and his son King Charles the second ( I think again !! been a while ago ! ) was in France ( he was half french ) and came over to claim his thrown by then Oliver Cromwell was already dead but King charles was so enraged he ordered a trial against him . So they DAG up his dead body and put him in court !!!! And said " Do you claim guilty for treason against the king " He couldnt nodd because he had kicked the bucket along time ago . The king won and ordered his head to be cut off ( which had already pretty much come off some how and women had to sow it back on to his body ! ) and paraded around London and stuck outside the houses or parliment .

Also Braveheart was a real scottish man ( not mel gibson ! ) and was hang drung and quatered and yelled out FREEDOM whilst having his bits bits chopped off ( eck !!! ) and later his head was stuck outside the houses of parliment for everyone too see . Lovely aye ?!? xxx

I think it's a $64,000 question as to why some people linger so long on death row. CA seems to be the one state with so many--over 600 last count, with very few executions scheduled in any one year. Now, TX in particular, the murderers are executed fairly quickly. I have never looked to see if there are any that have been awaiting for 10, 15, or 20 years. They are allowed to ask for appeals, perhaps each state allows different numbers? Anyway, I don't have the answer, for sure.

That is interesting info--I have heard of Oliver Cromwell and Braveheart (altho I didn't watch the movie) but didn't know the particulars about their executions. That little ol' king must have been mighty mad or insecure (or both) to go to the extreme of digging up a dead guy, having his head sewn back on in order to behead him!!!!

Personally I ask myself why.... then I realized that everyone is different. We all have needs and some are very different than others. Absolutely and its not none of their own family ! I am sure if it was they wouldnt appraciate reading that !!! I try stay nutral in here to make relevant points from both arguments . I dont support the murderers at all but its interesting to find a lot of them had mentall illnesses or a very bad and tragic childhood themselves . Like I said when you see things in your own home day in and day out as a child you just believe to think its the norm and its acceptable . You never really question your own family members do you ? because they are a majour part of your life and imprint .

Any pen pal of Rameriz and the like who claim to be very good friends with him have some issues w/delusion, IMO. They can be frequent pen pals, but, like you, I think very good friends is a bit over the top. Heck, many of those on death row, or even just in prison, especially if theirs is a high profile case have pen pals, they are a dime a dozen. I had read somewhere that the inmate himself isn't even always the one who writes back. Kind of shares that with prison buds who don't have any to answer, and there are too many for the guy to answer on his own. Or, perhaps. there are some pen pals he just doesn't want to deal w/at all, and lets someone else do so. But, gotta keep those cards and letters coming so he can boast about how much mail he gets!!!!:shrug:

Good point Amy !! Spot on . Like I said some people ( deffintly women ) want to believe what they want when they havent seen a person in real life . I spent 3 years writing to this guy i met when i was 20 he lived in the states . Long story but basically he was just a JERK he would write to me when he didnt have anyone to give him any kind of attention or devotion and then stop when he did . I think its the same principle here maybe . I watched WE one night and they featured women who love men in prison and on death row and the "penpals" they are allowed to write to and some bleeding hearts even have web-sites set up just for them and that makes me want to hurl!! There was a lovely woman on there by the name of Stardust, who had lost the love of her life, her total soulmate of 35 years to a POS who robbed her equally wonderful husband who was a teacher and well loved and respected for about $60!! And is currently on OK's death row and this scumbag placed an Internet personal add via some bleeder who feels sorry for the poor, lonely, men on death row so she had set up this website and Stardust and her very pissed off daughter saw this on their local news, went on the site and there was the scumbag that beat their husband and father to death, and he described himself as a very laid back kinda guy, very caring and loving and they flipped out and so did I!! I think there are several things going on w/women/girls who follow, write, and marry murderers, or even other criminals that will never get out of prison.

I am sure self-esteem is an issue. And, if they are afraid of true committment, they can be married to someone, but not really have to deal w/any of the issues that go in the day-to-day living with someone. She doens't have to worry about having sex. About how well she does or doesn't clean the house, or even herself. About cooking and laundry. But she is "married!!!!" So there!!!

Doesn't even have to worry about having children, whether it was something she had always wanted, or if that was something she was scared of, too.

And, there is the shock factor. I am sure (and especially with really young ones) she sees being married to a bad guy will make people sit up and take notice of her. Perhaps she has always been considered a "good girl" and wants the goody-two shoes image to disappear. Or, perhaps she is a girl on the wild side, out of control, and marries a killer just to show people she is really the tough cookie she wants to be known as.

Just some of the traits I think these women have. Some may have several of these traits, some maybe only one. And I am sure there are those who don't fit any of my theories, lol.

They are pretty safe (from injury or harm) from their "mates" as it is highly unlikely that any of them will ever get out into the real world. I wonder what some of them would do, if "honey" escaped from prison and showed up on the doorstep. thats true actually . I remember when i was a late teen i use to work out in the gym alot and this one woman who was 27 very slim hardly ate and would run on the maximum speed for sometimes an hour . I found out her boyfriend ( a complete idiot ) was a drug dealer and she was on coke . She had masses of energy and at times got way to to thin for her 5 feet 7 frame . I also worked in hotel in majorca and the other girl in the team told me the year before the whole entertainment team ( i was in entertainment ) got fired because they all got found out about doing coke tsk tsk

I mean I am sure they didnt expect him or want him to become the way he did but they had a lot to do with it , like leaving a peadophile teacher in the house alone with the boys , not paying attention to the fact he was spending so much time with his warped cousin and also why didnt they notice he was not sleeping in his room at all ? I never tho't of his family has being rich, but they live in TX, or @ least they did back in the day. It would be quite expensive to travel often to CA, IMO.

My ex BIL wasn't a serial killer, but even tho he is incarcerated in the same state, I don't think his family visited w/him all that often. Well, I couldn't tell you if they ever did, actually. I know my nephew, when he became of age, did decide to visit his dad, but I think that was only a couple of times, and he hasn't been back.

I would suppose there are many inmates whether on DR or not, whose families don't visit often, or some maybe not at all.

I recieved a letter from RR last Wednsday . I am trying to write a film and did ALOT of research on him and other high profile killers ( I also got a letter from David Berkowitz ) and I have read peoples posts and speak to a couple who correspond with him . I have told a few friends should I need emotional support . I write to him like I would to a friend but I dont or wont talk about my personal life such as family friends and feelings . Its tough because I really have been wrestling with my conscious , to be writing to someone who has had so much media attention for his crimes . I always promised myself if I ever got truely uncomfortable I will have to cease correspondence but I must say I find it extrenmely disturbing the amount of girls or women who write to him sending love letters or photos of themselves in the nude or in their bekinnis ... extremely worrying .

He asked me for some to take pool side . I just replied honestly I cant as photography is banned at public pools and I am simply not that kind of woman to do that anyhow . I am just wondering if you happen to stop after a long amount of time does he write back ? There just seem to be some women in this world who find some reward in writing to murderers, famous or probably even those that aren't. This has been happening even long before RR went to DR. There were (and probably still are) requests for penpals, maybe something more, in the back of tabloids--right amongst requests for pen pals by other people. I think there is even an internet source nowadays.

I think we have probably several pages worth of posts speculating why women would write to murderers. But, they do, and some even marry murderers. One of the Menendez Bros has been married twice, I think.

I had also read that an inmate who gets a lot of mail might not even be the one who is actually answering all of the letters. Some fellow prisoners don't get so much, and for a price (cigs, money from commisary? can't remember all) will take on some of the letters. Hopefully, they remember who was writing to whom, so the handwriting and the way things are worded are the same to each woman.

You know whats wierd I wont type out his letter because even though he is who is he I believe everyone's privacy should be protected ( irony there in a way isnt there ! ) but I can kind of see why women are attracted to him . He has a very child likeness in his writings and drawings ( other than when he starts talking about satan which in some of other peoples letters he has apparently ) which attract women to want to NURTURE him and because he as such a traumatic childhood himself . There is a sense of excitement about getting his letters ( I am speaking generally ) because its from a notorious " Celebrity " , its safe because there is distance and protection against him and the woman who is writing can feel she can make him in her own eyes the man who should be for her . Writing is different to seeing like I said , you can not see the body language and the little things in gestures etc which give a person away . Also everyone needs VALIDATION . Its wierd I asked him in my first letters random normal questions one being out of curiosity " why do people feel they need to belong ?" he never answered and I came to conclusion its because he himself does not know and has only been able to live in this world defining himself as a follower of Satan .

Some women and also like a bad boy too someone who is different , unpredictable and prolific in a field they want to be in or be known as . I wonder if more men ( compared to women admirers ) write to female death row in mates ? interesting huh ? I will look into that also . I love this space its great for fead back ! xxx

Saw an episode of SNAPPED the other night and 28 year old Jennifer Hyatt of TN was featured and talk about blow your life up!! She was a prison nurse who falls under the spell of a real POS, George Hyatt, a career scumbag who had spent most of his life behind bars and was doing a 35 year bid for robbery and she being easily manipulated by men, committed a most evil act on his behalf. He was due to go to court on unrelated charges and he expected on his command, for her to show up at the courthouse and pull a gun on the deputies escorting him and get him free! According to her and I don't know if this is truel, the gun goes off, striking a deputy, killing him. Now she is wounded too when the other officer opens fire, but they manage to get away and they ended up ditching her car as she had another one lined up and they hit the road to only be captured two days later in OH. Now this loser was facing the DP and of course GEORGE, he don't give a crap if he gets more time tacked on and she ends up with a needle in her arm, he used and abused this woman, but she let herself be used.

He totally controlled,her even from behind bars, he had an illegal cell that she smuggled into the prison for him, the guards had not found and according to her he RAN the cell block not the CO's, however, she was fired for bringing him in food and he would call her 30 times a day wanting to account for her every move!!!! This stupid woman even though she claims he was abusing her right off, actually married this POS when she should have told him to get lost after she lost her job, but (GAG) "he made her feel special"??? How does a locked down inmate get $500 to give to her so she could get her hair and nails done? Who has money enough to pay a "spy" to watch her every move when you are in a max facility??? It was apparent to me that he DID rule that cell block as CO's were reported to be afraid of this little piss ant??? He probably stands 5'6 and I know I could kick his ass!!! And this stupid woman, a mother, once she got involved with this loser, she sends her three kids to live with her parents so she could free up all her time for this scumbag and not once did she think of those poor kids till it dawned on her that she was facing the DP and then the waterworks were turned on

And the deputy's family were outraged and wanted her to get the DP, but she gets one of those lame lawyers who lays it on thick about her kids being without a mama if she gets the needle and they relent and she gets a life sentence, but with parole and I don't think this loser should ever get out, however, she will be 68 before she can come up for parole so it is not like she will be out in 10. As for Hyatt, he just got another lifer tacked on so he will never get out and I can't help but wonder at this very second, if he is not conning some other dumb woman into doing his bidding. Now this is what I do not want to see happen to another woman and this is why I was so harsh with you taboo. Her own mother was powerless to stop her from getting involved with him even when her mother was well aware of what he was doing to her, complete mind control over an easily manipulated, woman and what galls me about her too, is she is not a dumb broad like Misty Croslin, she actually graduated nursing school top in her class and at the time of this horrific crime, she was highly thought of by a woman, whose husband she was taking care of, in fact, the other get-away car belonged to these folks and needless to say, they were horrified and hurt that she used them too!!! Now this woman sits in prison for at least the next 40 years and has no one to blame but herself. Her children are deprived of her, her father dies of a broken heart over this so not only did she blow her own life up, she took his away too and her children have to deal with the fact that their mother is a murderess and locked up and you know how kids can be cruel and these poor kids have been targeted by others and this breaks my heart.

Now I know you want to make a film, is it entirely about serial killers in general or are you wanting it to be about RR??? Many people have written books about him and Bundy and Gacy and I read one not to long ago about a serial killer that was too close for comfort for me. In the early and late 80's a serial killer murdered 7 women from my area in VT and NH. And he has never been caught, however, a woman PI thinks she knows who it was and it was a man by the name of Michael Nickaulou. She was hired by a woman whose daughter was married to him and she came up missing in 1988 in MA to never be found and he killed himself and his third wife and stepdaughter in FL in 2005. Now ironically, a woman I know was attacked by the CT River Valley killer as he was dubbed. She was coming home from a fair in 1987, 8 months pregnant and stopped at a closed store but a Coke machine stood it front of it as she was thirsty and it was a hot night. As she went to the machine to buy a soda, a man got out of a Jeep on the side of the store, came over to her and pretended to ask directions. As she turned to face him he attacked her with a knife and she was stabbed 27 times!!!

She tried to protect the baby and once she stopped struggling as she was rapidly losing blood, he calmly got in the Jeep and left. She staggered to her car as the store was on a rural road and not many houses there she could go for help and she started driving to find him smack dab in front of her heading in the direction of VT! She managed to make it to one of my boyfriend's house, was rushed to the hospital and even the baby survived, however she was born with CP. Now when "SAM" saw the picture of Nichaulou as the PI contacted her, she freaked! It was him!!! Because he is now dead, there is no way to prove that he was the killer of the other 6 women, but LE and I am convinced that he did it. The other women's bodies were recovered all over that area of NH from Unity to Claremont, to a rest area on an interstate in VT to the woman stabbed in her own home in Bellows Falls Vt. And when I saw his picture, to me he looked like a killer!!!

He was in Vietnam and according to fellow soldiers that served with him, he liked killing too much!! And apparently so does RR!! So I did not want to judge you, but warn you, we are all friends here and your posts are appreciated and you strike me as intelligent and stable, so it was more concern than disdain, but sometimes I get caught up in the moment and when you factor in the heinous crimes that POS did, I can't fathom anyone wanting to feel anything but contempt and anger towards him and certainly not pity!! Taboo, apparently he has come close to being executed, but some tool felt compelled to get him a stay and that was 5 years ago and he is still breathing. Now instead of the gas chamber which is where he should have gasped his last, he will get LI which is a complete joke considering the heinous crimes he committed. He has been on DR for at least 22 years, sucking up tax dollars and for the life of me, I can't understand CA's death appeals process. I mean, why bother to sentence them to death, when you don't plan on wasting them for decades? I truly believe that I will be with the Good Lord when Peterson gets his as I fully expect he will sit for at least three decades and he too, should have died the day he was sentenced as he is just as evil as RR, maybe even more so considering he murdered his own wife and child.

Now if this was TX they both will have died within 12 years or so and I applaud TX for not wanting their tax payers to shell out for years and years and they get the bare minimum for comforts and that is the way it should be. I also think this country should build more of those SuperMax prisons as they are not country clubs, far from it. In Florence CO where the UniBomber and Terry Smith and that 911 terrorist asshole reside, that is a stark, bleak, dark prison and these birds actually are held 30 feet down under from the other inmates and they have few comforts and this is what they deserve. They do not have cable color TV and can only make one call a month and visits are few and far between, the terrorist can have his Koran and inmates can watch closed circuit religious services on a TV outside the cells. They get one hot a day and are locked down 23/7, in fact they only get out three times a week for exercise in their dog kennels. Welcome to the rest of your life asswipes!!!

I noticed something in his letter . Everything is in capital letters which leads me to believe 3 things ...
1 . It could maybe be someone else ...? ( Although he is in a one man cell in a very high max part of the building ... no interaction from what the guards have stated )
2. He isnt very well educated which would make sense , since he dropped out of high school at like around 15 right ?

1 . It could maybe be someone else ...? ( Although he is in a one man cell in a very high max part of the building ... no interaction from what the guards have stated )

No its fine I understand you being upset with me first time around its a normal reaction and very kind of you to look out for me but believe me I REFUSE to write about my family like how many there are etc and I dont talk about my feelings . I have seen some of his letters posted online, and have seen them in cursive. In one of them, the writing is very nice looking, more like the way an old-fashioned female would have written, (and I mean that in a good way--so many men have lazy-looking writing). Did you know that per: the book by Philip Carlo, at practically every crime scene, there was a piece of physical evidence (including serologic) which belonged neither to RR nor the victim? And this was never fully investigated.

About his appearance clearly he isnt on drugs anymore so he has gained weight and looks more healthy but I have noticed his eyes seem to be getting smaller ( or is that just me ? ) and his jaw is very square shaped now .

My guess would be if he is emotional at all it would have to do with himself.

I think your spot on Sara and thats the only real emotion he can identify with which is why I have to be tactful and not just say NO I am scared of making him angry too . Plus I was always told to take the moral high ground if someone is rude , arrogant etc never sink to their level always rise above it

Me too He had epelepsy after having a head concussion which could have been very fatal . I too believe this did something damaging to his brain , he was also very frustrated by the fact he could not play football . His childhood was very sad but that doesnt give hm the right to do the things he later did and i think many women and young girls sympathised with him and his adolescent past

No he hasnt been rude at all just some of his questions are strange and one can look too much into it with reason such as asking about your relatives their names ages if one sees them alot . I also think the drugs played a big part in fueling his rage . Coke makes you very hyper and keeps the adrenaline going I knew a woman that abused it and hardly ate and she ran like mad on the tread mill . Its hard not to feel sad for him though . He does deserve to be where he is I wonder if he regrets any of his crimes at all ? Probably not . But one gets older we always look back at our past and have regrets dont we . One of his was not asking girls out in high school . He missed out on the good stuff and chose to go on the wrong side . On a positive note sort of He did proove how important it was for people to lock up and take more care of their homes ( not to the point where they are petrafied though ) and that anyone is capeable of making a huge impact on society ... but unfortunetly he didnt go about things the right way at all !
